P&G officials in charge of this show should be embarrassed and ashamed. It wasn't enough to show Ameera kissing Noah 3 times (2 in previews, and once during the show), but we had to see it in this week's preview for next week, then we see it again, yet Luke, who Noah loves hasn't been able to kiss him in over 200 days? And now Ameera will have kissed Noah the same number of times as Luke?
P&G is hate. This is how they respond for people asking for equality and equal treatment? P&G is hate. No offense to anyone else on the board, but no matter what anyone else says, I'm not changing my mind as I know as a fact that P&G is hate.
Edit - You are correct, Mala, in that I should have used a better word than fact. Though to me it is a fact - even though I suppose it's still an opinion - which means it's not a fact, but in my mind, and in the mind of others, it's a fact, even though it's an opinion. Wow..that was some confusing double talk. Maybe I should interview for a position as a P&G spokesperson? I am just joking!!! You've got to have humor at times like these, right?
I agree with you, NoahFan. Are TBTB really that stupid? They know the Nuke fans are angry and they think these Noah/Ameera kisses are a good idea?I just don't get it...
Man, y'all were chatty. I have to play a LOT of catch-up here.
WorldTurner - How does word leak out SO fast? LOL. Liberty is definitely going to be an interesting character. Look for her to cause trouble for all kinds of Oakdale residents. And I'm right there with you and AnthonyL on any potential Carjack and Holden/Lily swap being a big mistake. I just think you can't mess with your tried and true supercouples and your tried and true relationships. It's completely out of character for all four of them (though I do concede that often Carly DOES do crazier things than the other three). I really hope it's just a tease, an idea, and something that ends up back on the drawing board. We'll all have to just stay tuned to find out.
Shyron - I, too, am very sad about Martha Byrne's leaving. Only time will tell in terms of the impact it will have on the show.
NoahFan - Of course you're free to voice your opinion here. That does not, however, make it a "fact" that P&G is being hateful.
And oh...! I have a blog entry up about today's ATWT episode: http://soapoperadigest.com/opinions/mala/
My posts go up once a week. I'm trying to figure out what to ramble about next Friday!
Now I'm headed off to New York Comic Con! Last year, I ran into Trent Dawson. Let's hope I see him again!
Just watched the show, please tell me Ameera is not going to get pregnant by trying to sleep with Noah (after drugging him or something). I don't think I can handle a baby entering the storyline.
BTW, totally loved your Blog Today.
Have fun Mala! I sure hope you run into Trent too! What a sweetheart and a funny guy he is!
Mala - Your blog was just so awesome today. I really wish the writers and P&G officials would read it. You're bloody brilliant. Also, for those who don't know it or didn't realize it, today's episode was the first episode to feature JP's name back in the credits. I wonder how her coming back will change the Luke/Noah/Ameera storyline? I didn't think it was possible, but judging by what happened today and what's coming up next week, it continues to sink to all times lows in the way that it's offensive to almost everyone watching!Hope you have fun at Comic Con, Mala! Please write a blog about your experience there, even if it's off topic a bit , as I would love to hear what transpired at the event.
Your blog is cool. I can't wait to see what you talk about next week.
Thanks, Guys! Glad you liked the entry. Next Friday may have to be something more lighthearted like "Why I love GH's Jerry, let me count the ways." By the way...? Brad and Katie's wedding made me laugh SO hard that they heard me all the way down the hall.
Mala:You have to tell us about your visit to the Comic Con. Sounds like it would be such fun. I realize it's OT, but still.....!Brad and Katie's wedding has gotten raves all around. I still have my doubts about the longevity of the couple though. And what is with Katie hounding Brad about having kids already? Not to mention a teenager showing up on his doorstep claiming to be his daughter. I guess they can't be happily married for even a week on this show!About Friday's show: when Casey is the smartest guy in the room, there's a problem. I was dumbfounded that Luke couldn't believe that Ameera was after Noah. Perhaps he should watch the show from a few weeks ago when he expressed the same concerns? And what's with Ameera giving Casey the evil eye, not to mention jumping on poor Noah wearing a slip of a dress? Someone said that when Casey talked about Ameera being an actress and her putting it down that it was foreshadowing. Maybe.I hate Babs' cancer being used as a SPD just to get in the way of Paul's relationship with Meg. CZP deserves better. And so does Babs. Who leaves his mother lying in the hospital to chase after a woman who doesn't want him?BTW, ATWT, having Chris/Ali/Sofie/Aaron go on a double date only makes them twice as boring.
Katie and Brad's wedding was the best soap wedding I have seen in a long time! Trent Dawson was priceless performing the ceremony, lots of classic lines. As far as Paul leaving Barbara at the hospital to see Meg, hey, even she said she was just going to be sleeping, what is he supposed to do, watch her sleep? Not that I care about Paul and Meg, I think Paul and Emily are a better combo, kind of like Blair/Todd on OLTL.Think Ameera may have been sent by Col Mayer as one last attempt to "turn Noah straight"? After all, Noah was with Maddie, so maybe Col Mayer figures, given a chance, Noah will give up his "alternative lifestyle".
Comic Con was an absolute BLAST. I basically spent the whole weekend there, running around, going to panels, and spending only a slightly obscene amount of money on comic books. Didn't really see anybody famous up close. Apparently, I missed Seth Green talking to some of my friends by 20 minutes. Darn! *shakey fist*And I've got to say it again... if Ameera goes rogue (not to be confused with The X-Men's Rogue), and sides with Col. Homophobe, I will not be a happy camper. I'm already peeved she shot down Casey. Fortunately, Casey's storyline will be picking up in the coming weeks.
Thanks for the info on the comic convention. It sounds awesome.
I just heard about your chat on Wednesday. Are you guys going to keep archives of the chats for those who can't be there?
Ugh. Today's show is terrible. Should we care about Chris/Sofie/Aaron/Ali? Talk about a boring and awkward quad. I can't fathom why they have to be friends much less dating.
Jack is being a total jerk and Holden is treated Carly like his new best friend. They are forcing this Carly/Holden thing and it makes no sense and the characters are not behaving like themselves. Ridiculous.
And don't get me started on Paul and Meg and Sofie slobbering all over Paul! Yuck!
I hadn't heard about the chat yet? Details please The weekly chats the mags used to do were great!
I don't think we're having a chat, folks! I asked around and our web gurus were clueless. Are you sure you're not confusing us with somebody else?By the way? Today is Martha Byrne's last air date, so don't forget to watch!
Well I watched and am still teary thinking about this being Martha's last day. The scenes especially between Holden and Lily were just heartbreaking. I'm trying to remember if I have ever seen Jon really tear up before. The whole show was very good and no shocker that Susan Dansby was the writer. She can take the worst situation and have what the characters say still make sense.
I know, right? It was VERY well-written and I just couldn't believe Martha was gone by the end of it. Plus, you'll appreciate this WorldTurner, when Carly comforted Holden...? I totally snapped at the TV, "Carly, get your hands off of him!" LOL! Not that the man didn't need a hand and more at that point. Someone hug Holden!
Wow, I can't believe it!ATWT finally showed another Luke and Noah kiss. Never have I been so happy to be wrong regarding P&G's stance on this. I am very thankful that they listened to their fans! Congrats to them, and here is to hoping that many more kisses are around the corner, no matter how many phone calls and letters the American Family Association and other hate groups might make to the show.Stay strong, ATWT...for us, your very dedicated fans.
I'm so surprised and happy about Luke and Noah's kiss. I was not expecting it and it is the first time ATWT surprised me and excited me in a long time.
Yeah, it was good to see the boys lock lips again, though I'm sure a lot of people wish that they'd gotten a heads up so they could have set a tape or TiVO-ed it or something.I just can't wait for the day where it's no big deal whether they kiss or not, where it's commonplace and no one's doing a comparison count.

I totally agree... and they did kiss again today, just a peck on the cheek as Luke was leaving. But, maybe the show is making progress. I don't expect things to be happening everytime they are on, but if the show can do things like yesterday and today and not have it be a big deal (though the show actually didn't treat it like one at all) then we can focus on important things, like the storyline and what a crazy idea it is for Luke to be moving into that house with them. Didn't they leave the farm because they were concerned the ICE would be suspicious of Noah living with Luke's family. But Luke, who belongs to a wealthy family moves into that one bedroom cottage, and they don't think that will raise eyebrows????
Quote:I totally agree... and they did kiss again today, just a peck on the cheek as Luke was leaving. I've watched it a couple of times, but I think it was a peck on the lips. But it's hard to see, 'cause Van's hand is blocking the shot.
AnthonyL - You're asking for logic again! Stop that! LOL. Yeah, I have no idea why our boy geniuses would think Luke moving in to a one bedroom cottage is somehow LESS suspicious than them all living at the farm.MarkDutchViewer - I think I agree with you. Thursday's kiss did seem like a quick peck on the lips.
i think so too. it was on the lips just a quick one.
Hey gang! I was at the ATWT fan club luncheon this morning and had a lovely time chatting with many of Oakdale's beloved residents! I didn't get to *everyone*, as it was kind of hectic, but there will be photos coming up in WEEKLY (and Digest, too).

You are so lucky. I can't wait to see the pictures. Did you get to meet Marie Wilson, EH and CZ. I have hard only great about them and their work.
Woohoo! I'm so glad you got to go. I look forward to updates and photos in both magazines and any teases you can tell us before we see it in print.
I've actually met most of the cast before, truefan, as it's my job to talk to them. The divine Elizabeth Hubbard and Colleen Zenk Pinter were two people I didn't get to say "hi" to (among several others), but Marie was one of the first people I saw. We commiserated over the fact that we spent a couple of months not talking since she was between storylines. I also got to meet Kathleen Widdoes right off the bat and that was really cool. Ashley Greiner, a total sweetie, looked so grown up. It's blowing my mind how fast these kids are aging. Much to my amusement, Mick Hazen has grown two inches since the last time I saw him. I swear he's going to be as tall as Austin Peck soon. They're a lovely, warm, wonderful cast and I really enjoyed meeting new faces Jon Prescott and Noelle Beck. I actually talked to Noelle a few days ago for the issue hitting stands this Friday so it was nice to be able to attach faces to voices. Additionally, there was Michael Park, Billy Magnusson, Austin Peck, Trent Dawson, Ewa da Cruz, Van Hansis, Jake Silbermann, Marnie Schulenburg, Justine Cotsonas, Wole Parks ... okay, the list of people I missed is actually shorter than the people I spoke to. I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody.Suffice it to say, I hope they had all rested their hands for the autograph session that was facing them. (I warned Jake and Van their hands would probably fall off.)
Quote:Suffice it to say, I hope they had all rested their hands for the autograph session that was facing them. (I warned Jake and Van their hands would probably fall off.) I guess they were not tired yet, because they came to the after party organized by Nuke fans. Tala Ashe, Billy Magnussen, Dylan Bruce and Ewa Da Cruz were there too.
Yeah, I knew they and Billy were going to that. That was very nice of them all.
Mala, why would they destroy Paul/Sofie relationship with her accusing him of rape? Why does every woman that goes near Paul that's not Meg Snyder, has to be insane or criminal or both? I'm so sick of PEG. This is another stupid plot for Paul/Meg to come back together. And Sofie had made head way with Barbara by helping her. Why does everyone on the show get someone to talk to and be friends with except Paul? The writing for the character is horrible. He's not as a bad guy or good guy, or something in between. They just write him as pathetic and a loser and begging Meg. Did RH kill Jean P. dog or something? Sick of the boring Meg/Paul merry go round. The "I won't get with you until you change" is boring. Why can't these two move on and put us out of our misery?Rosanna pulled out of character and destroyed for Peg, Emily destroyed, Craig pulled out of character and destroyed and now Sofie got to be used to get them back together. Enough is enough. Who's next to be used? Mike?
When I heard the rumor about Sofie crying rape with Paul, I actually thought it sounded like a very good storyline for all involved. But then again, I really like Paul and Meg. So if it brings them together in the process, that's a plus for me. But I didn't hear that part.
I have not heard about this crying rape thing at all, so I can't address the question.
I really like Paul and Meg. Do you have any ideas on what the writers have in store for them. I throught the rumor about Sofia saying Paul raped her was not true. It just does not sound right, but if you don't know anything about it I guess it was something someone made up. I hope Sofia is related to Paul in some way. Maybe the Ryans and Syders will come togather one day. It would be nice if the writers wrote for the familes. There is so much history on the show. It would be great if the writes used it.
Mala, have you seen that P&G has setup an 800 # that they're using, in part, to get feedback regarding the Luke and Noah storyline? It's completely automated, and I believe you say you're either ok with the storyline (press 1) or press two if the storyline "concerns" you. Have you ever heard of any show, soap or non-soap, setting up a phone line to get feedback on a specific storyline? If you don't mind me asking, what do you think, in your opinion only, is going on here? Are they taking feedback to see if that many AFA and hate groups are against it and if so, might end the storyline? Or do you believe they're just doing this to give the people who answer the call centers a break from hearing, I can imagine, people calling up and spewing their hate for this storyline? Or, a 3rd option...is P&G doing this in an odd attempt to try to get even more publicity for this storyline and the controversy surrounding it? Or, is there a 4th option? I'm curious, if you don't mind me asking, to get your take on this, considering you work in the industry. Any feedback (speculation only, of course! ), would be greatly appreciated. Hope you had fun at the luncheon, btw!
Hey, NoahFan - I can assure you that P&G is NOT using the hotline number as a tool to make a decision on the Noah and Luke storyline. It's probably more to do with the call volume to their comment line. I'm sure whoever answers the phone is glad for a break. LOL! The automated line is purely to gauge interest in the storyline and in no way makes or breaks Nuke's story.
Mala : I agree with your assessment. I can imagine the people at the P&G call centers are quite thankful for this respite. It's sad that people have nothing better to do with their time then complain about this. Sometimes I think people forget that they own a remote control in their house, and if they don't want to watch it..switch the channel! Or heck, even *gasp* go outside! The funny thing is that these people complaining don't even watch the show for the most part. What a crazy, nutty world it is that we live in!
LOL! Hey, I'm pretty sure the positive calls are just as numerous, if not moreso...and given what I caught during my Internet sojourns last night at home, the positive calls aren't always eoming from people who watch the show either.
Mala now that we know the Emmy nominees and congrats to all nominated, do you know if there is another round of voting or was it all done at once this year. I've heard both things and I guess it was TV Guide that said there was only the one round of voting. Also I know the mags usually get the info on what scenes they submitted. Do you have any idea when that will be revealed?
We're in the process of gathering all that super-sekrit Emmy reel intelligence, WorldTurner. (Go figure, but I was so busy congratulating Jen Landon and Heather Tom when they called yesterday, I forgot to ask them.)As for the voting process, you're correct in saying it's only one round. There will be no second round of judging, so now we just have to sit on our hands and wait for the results in June!
Mala, what is the logic behind that change in the voting process? There are a bunch of "wasted" votes out there, the votes for the people who didn't end up with a nomination. It seems as though it is only going to cheapen the process even more. Though I must admit, I was pretty happy with the list of nominees, though there were some omissions, as usual. Since I watch OLTL, GH, GL and ATWT, I will have a hard time rooting for just one person to win.....
Mala : If the spoilers are correct regarding Ameera and what's going on with her next week, you're not going to be a very happy camper - and I don't blame you for feeling like that. I think it will stink really badly too. If this does come to fruition, please feel free to vent here or in your column on this site as I'm sure we would like reading your thoughts about this matter, and will almost certainly agree with them. (On a side note, I'm wondering if JP coming back changed the direction this storyline was going in completely...but I guess we will never know).
Thaks for the info Mala. I don't understand the logic of only one round of voting. I have to agree that some who voted for people in the first round that didn't make it, would vote for somebody different among the nominees. It really seems to me it is going to come down to what shows had the most voters on the panel. This system deperately needs to be changed. And since the voting is all done, why wait 2 months for the awards? I really find it upsetting that as was reported in SOW some of the actors said there were too many tapes to watch so they just voted for their friends.LOL I heard Jen tell in an interview what she submitted but I'll be darned if I can remember. I think one was the first time she met Cleo. I look forward to hearing what they submitted. If KMH submitted that day after she was beat up and Dusty stayed with her in her room, I think she has a very good chance!
indeegurl - Honestly, I still don't quite understand the voting process this year. I feel like I need someone to come out with a flow chart and a laser pointer.NoahFan - When it comes to the Ameera storyline, I've taken to rowing down this river you may have heard of: It's the River Denial. It flows into the Bay of Mala Not Saying Something She'll Regret. LOL. I'm just going to try and get through all of this and hope that by the end of it, Ameera is not too badly destroyed and she can go be with Aaron, who clearly needs a girlfriend. WorldTurner - I don't understand the logic of one round either, or the whole process itself. I actually just talked to KMH a few minutes ago about her nom and after hearing what she submitted, I'm definitely rooting for her. (Not that I wasn't rooting before.) She's a class act.
Mala I'm liking the chemistry between Ali and Chris. Do you know if the writers are going to give this pairing a real chance? I like the idea, especially if they go slowly and like that Ali is addressing her reservations. Plus it's about time Marnie gets a good story. I'm curious if we will be seeing more of them.
Ali and Chris will definitely be heavily into story this spring and summer, and I agree: I'm very glad to see Marnie getting some non-porn-related airtime!
Mala, do you know if there is going to be anything for Tom and Margo's 25th wedding anniversary since it's now a month away?
Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere, but what's up with bringing fan favorite Matt (Eric William Morris) back for just one scene? Please tell me he's coming back permanently soon...EWM totally energized the show for me this spring, and now, aside from the Casey/Emily stuff, I'm bored out of my mind with the show. I want Matt back!!!!

Anthony Carly would not do this either. Carly went and talked to Lily before she would even get involved with Simon to make sure Lily didn't have a problem with it. Simon had been years ago and clearly didn't mean as much to Lily as Holden does but Carly wouldn't have become involved with Simon if Lily had a problem with it so no way would she do that to Lily regarding Holden.
