Birdie, Great post....Mala, I love you........We all love you...Thank you, thank you, thank you...I have to admit something here, I used to buy SOD/SOW all the time, then stopped, but after coming here, reading the post from the wonderful, insightful editors, I started buying it again..... Hell, I even read the articles and columns I don't agree with and like them...LOLABC/AMC screwed up big time and they continue to do so..No one will ever make me believe that TPTB couldn't see from the start that this story was bombing big time and could have done something to stop it, like focus on Reeks, instead of the shock, sensationalism, & plot driven agendas..The character of Bianca was destroyed with this story... Completely destroyed.... First, the BOB crap, then by making her so stupid, selfish, self-involved...I see no way to fix Bianca....No way at all and ER was used as a way to introduce TB/Character, then Bianca was shoved into the supporting role, in what should have been her story, with her playing the lead..The character of Zach has been damaged..... Badly damaged...TK's enormous talents were wasted by holding the purses of the not so ground breaking lesbian....BOB did a lot of damage to Zach, but the character of Reese did even more..As for TB.... WHy did they even waste her time... Not only is her character loathed at the level of Ryan, but TB's credibility and integrity have come into question, which is sad...Putting TB out there with ER, promoting a lesbian story.... saying that Reese was a strong, independent lesbian, only to have they proven to be a lie, was not a good idea...It's not their fault, but they both had to know, early on, that Reese was never going to be what Pratt said she was..Now, Reese, the not so ground breaking lesbian is still in PV, while Bianca is gone, and still chasing after Zach...all the while blind...No one cares about this character....Jesse/Angie/Tad/Taylor aren't even a blip on the show, but the Reese/Ryan hour continues...There is no wonder why fans are tuning out and will continue to tune out of the never-ending saga of Reese/Ryan...Good luck to TB in her next gig.... because this one was a waste..Kudos to SOD/SOW for calling ABC/AMC out on thier crap...That was brave and we viewers applaud you for it...Frons/Pratt/JHC look like jokes and AMC looks like it is on the way to the chopping block with only fans and actors/actresses wanting the show to survive, while TPTB sit back and continue this destructive mess.

Exactly..what about Taylor and Brot? These charactes were brought with a lot of publicity and a lot of positive press. For what..so they could be ignored? At least if you are going to bring in new characters that have no history with PV per se, why not showcase the ones that have had some positive feedback? Not the ones that have gotten nothing but bad press since they arrived (nothing personal about the actresses..they are just doing their jobs as well)

But in this time of fiscal problems all over the world, it is just disgusting when a new headwriter brings in HIS favorite and uses her (at a high price I would imagine) to the exclusion of actors and actresses who have committed years and years of service to AMC and get nothing. Why is a hated character on practically every fricken day and we have barely seen Adam Chandler over the last months.

And what do the viewers get? Replays of storylines that happened already years ago without any regard at all to character growth and devlopement? JR is drunk again? Amanada has been given terrible things to do..that she agreed to..and she is being written as a victim? Jesse had a hidden family? Josh hated Zach for never trusting him..HUH?..the same Josh that Zach trusted more than anyone else to take care of both his children and his company when Zach's family was going through hell? Where did Pratt pull that storyline out of? Zach who last year preached NO secrets to Kendall decides to go behind her back to be a doner of a baby because Reese is so cool? And Kendall is going back to her emotions of 5 years ago?

So there is TK working his butt off for years trying to sell one storyline after another that make little sense..and HIS contract is up in the air? Freaking unbelievable.

But his storylines are approved by Brian Frons.My question is what experience does Frons have with writing? Has he been a writer, does he know anything of the writing process, does he know anything about the art of soap opera writing? If not, why does he have the authority to okay storylines?He's a businessman, a lousy one at that. His hiring practices are incompetent. Esenten and Brown any one? Now Pratt.The only thing he should be involved are the fans reaction to the incompetent, destructive writing that translates into ratings. Mala's comments are spot-on. Jesse and Angie have no story. They only get airtime if someone needs to be arrested or if someone's been brought into the ER. The Martin family barely gets airtime. But Reese is on every day. A woman with no family, no friends and no connection to Pine Valley other than some contracts with businesses she's rebuilding is on every day. That's shameful.Why did it take so long for us to see Jackson's grief over Greenlee's death? Ryan grieved Greenlee's passing, but as Zach said, he wasn't alone, and yet, all we've seen is Ryan's pain. What is going on with Jack and Erica? We have no idea because Walt Willey is woefully underused.I'm very sad over the state of AMC. It used to be that you could bristle over the stories Pratt was telling, but at least compliment him on using the cast better and being more inclusive in his storytelling. Not anymore. Now I wince at every story Pratt tells (and I'm dreading March Sweeps after reading the recent spoilers for Zach, Kendall and the Annual Intruder in Zen's marriage, Ryan Lavery), and take no comfort in the fact that unless you're connected to Amanda/David/Krystal/JR, or Ryan/Reese/Kendall/Zach, you'll get little airtime. It's very, very sad.

I would love to see Jesse/Angie in a story and not as just supporting players...I was warming up to Taylor, but since Reese took over the show, nothing..Now, we have Ryan the Rage Moneky back in full force...and Reese the sexually confused goodness knows what she is..No one wants to see this..I do have a question for the editors of SOD/SOW...Pratt/Frons/Carruthers have all called Ryan the good guy, hero, savior of women, but what we've seen and what we are seeing now, is the complete opposite..Ryan is a woman abusing jerk...takes no responsibility for his own actions, and is looking like the worst dad..Neglectful at best...Just today, we saw him go off on Kendall with just one innocent word from her..this is nothing new, but this is what they call heroic, good guy...My question is this....am I the only one who is disgusted with TPTB idea of a good guy, hero.....or are there others disgusted with this..I've been saying this for 4 years now..Abuse is not heroic and Abusers are not heros...Ryan is an abuser and his actions are abusive with woman...CM can't be happy with this story because it cements the fact that Ryan is a low-life abuser....I wonder if TPTB will ever get a clue and end this...Having Kendall feel anything for the man who abused her for years and continues to do so is such a negative, dangerous message to send....Why do they continue to send that message...As a survivor of abuse, I'm disgusted with this...am I alone...

All I can do is echo every word in all these posts. Why have so many great characters and actors been sacrificed for these short-termers. Ratings didn't go up, they went down. And any fan could have told you this would happen. But not Frons. He hasn't a clue. How sad--for the show, for the actors and for the fans.I believe all three actors involved have expressed that Rendall should not be revisited. But Frons thinks he knows better than anyone.

For the life of me, I will never understand all the attempts to shove Kendall back at Ryan, considering that Ryan/Kendall is the most toxic, abusive relationship on daytime.It's a slam to abuse victims everywhere...Even now, Ryan's abusive behavior is out in full force and once again his biggest victim is feeling sorry for him..It's sickening..Instead of fixing what is broken, TPTB continue to make things worse..AMC revolves around Ryan/Reese right now, the two most hated characters in daytime, while characters like Jesse/Angie/Taylor/Brot/Jack have no story.It desturbs me that TPTB consider Ryan a good guy/hero/savior of women when all I see is your classic woman abuser...I've said this before and will say it again....WTH are they doing everything they can to push viewers away, instead of bringing us back...The Ryan Hour, The Ryan/Reese Hour, whatever is only pushing us away...Kendall feeling anything for the man who abused her for years is just vomit inducing and scary....

After reading the latest spoilers and seeing the direction they are taking AMC, I have to say that either TPTB are just plain stupid or really want to tank AMC once and for all.All this BS coming from TPTB about Ms. Not So Cool & Amazing, Not So Lesbian and Bianca reuniting in a few weeks is crap...They continue to push this vile, repulsive garbage with the not so ground breaking, most hated non-lesbian in daytime and Zach...And to have Kendall feel anything for her abuser is just sickening on so many levels...I'm joining hte legions of veiwers who are going to sit out this March/April and however long they shove this garbage at us, knowing full well the masses of fans will not watch it..Reese/Ryan centric Sweeps just continues down the wrong road...For the first time, I'm glad they aren't writing a story for Jesse/Angie, Jack, etc because with they way Pratt has destroyed Bianca, damaged Zach, and are now throwing boulders at Kendall by using her to prop Ryass again, can you imagine what damage he will do to the others...Enough...... In order for her to exist he destroyed the integrity of two beloved characters, Bianca and Zach and two relationships, Bianca and Kendall and Zach and Kendall. Why? So he could introduce the ugly and horrible character of Reese and give his favorite actress,and I use the term actress loosely, Tamara Braun a storyline. He wanted to tell a same sex love story effectively by giving them a baby and some angst but what he did was to offend not only Zendall fans, Bianca fans but the gay and lesbian community and all long time AMC fans with his weapon of mass destruction, his pen! To add insult to injury the executive producer is interviewed and makes libelous remarks about the fans rewriting what they see. No blame for the state AMC is in is ever taken by the executives or writers of ABC..it's all the fans and outside factions. And the destruction is allowed to continue because now that they have been called out on their sham of a same sex stroyline and babygate, they needs to fix what they broke and it's being done at the expense of the rest of the cast and the characters of Zach and Kendall.Pratt is by far the worst head writer AMC has ever had. His disrespect for the show's rich history, his disregard for the hard work put in by its actors is just criminal. How much longer before he is fired? If he isn't fired soon, I fear he will be the last head writer AMC ever has. So if Mala's column, and other critic's columns,fans' outrage , sinking or stagnant ratings don't do it , what will?
