Why doesn't Luke get a life? He's a simpering whiner and I refuse to watch on the day's they are on. There are better shows to watch on other channels. And some of my favorite actors/actresses are on them now too.
I have watched this show for many years and am now really ready to move away from it forever. The Luke and Noah story line is beyond moral. How can you let young people behave like this. The writers are without morals - please read your bible. No more.
I just love it how the bible is used as a reason why Luke and Noah is wrong... So you're okay with murder, infidelity, baby switches, etc...
Anyone who doesn't like something on a TV show is always free to change the channel and watch something else. And as we are skating into the territory of religious beliefs, I'm just throwing up the "Proceed With Caution!" sign!
Luke and Noah are the main reason I'm watching right now.
At least ATWT is trying something new and refreshing. I have been waiting for a storyline like this.
Luke and Noah are the one that keep me watching. they the only coupe that i woukd fight for.

The (unmarried) het couples on the show are forever getting horizontal, and yet Luke and Noah, who have been together for a year have yet to be intimate. Heck, Parker and Liberty have gotten more action! Luke and Noah are about LOVE, and as sweet and refreshing as that is, ultimately my hope for these young men is that they are finally allowed to express that love just as any other couple would.
LOL! I appreciate your enthusiasm in defending Noah and Luke, but Parker and Liberty have NOT gotten more action. (And I am now scarred for life at the thought of wee, little Meredith Hagner and Mick Hazen with their shirts off, breathing heavily, and whatnot...)
Quote:LOL! I appreciate your enthusiasm in defending Noah and Luke, but Parker and Liberty have NOT gotten more action. (And I am now scarred for life at the thought of wee, little Meredith Hagner and Mick Hazen with their shirts off, breathing heavily, and whatnot...) Lol! I was being facetious , but yeah, I am a diehard Nuke girl! I must be if I continue to endure TheWorld'sWorstStoryLineEver. Poor Van & Jake! And Tala deserved better as well.
Give me Luke and Noah anyday. Getting bored with Meg/Paul/Sofie, Jack/Carly/Holden/Lily, Casey/Emily, Chris/Alison/Aaron and now we are moving into Liberty and Parker pairing. Get back to Nuke.
I really enjoyed today's episode. Van and Jake were awesome! I feel for Luke, but I see where Noah is coming from. He lashed out at Luke, but that's what you sometimes do when you're upset: You lash out at the person you love. Noah is only human. I don't think Noah really blames Luke and I was glad to hear him say that Luke is the best thing in his life and that he loves him. Also great that he told Luke that he was sorry about what he said.
Some people think this is the end of Nuke, but this happens to all soap couples. I'm looking forward to them getting back together.
Isn't getting back together what it's all about. This is Luke's first relationship and probably Noah's. They are learning things about themselves and each other. They will survive. Well unless the writers decide to break them up. AND THEY BETTER NOT!!!!
I don't understand why people think because Luke and Noah broke up it's the end of the couple. That makes no sense to me. Jack and Carly have broken up, but are they done? Hardly. Same for Holden and Lily. And what about Paul and Meg? They are together now, but how many times have they split over the years. Couples break up. It happens. And they find their way back together time and again. And actually, Luke and Noah were together longer than most before their first major split. They'll get back together... and sooner than a lot of people think IMO.
Breaking up, seeing other people, cheating... it's all a part of being a normal soap couple, so checking the first one off the list for Nuke just means they're exactly that: normal.
Can you imagine them making up now. I am sure it is going to be something to remember. I just hope ATWT don't screw it up. I think there should be a tally on couples kissing vs NUKE. Paul and Meg kissed 3 times during their scene, for example and Brad and Katie kissed 10 times and so forth. And how many times did Noah and Luke kissed? I'm not saying force it down but let's give them some couple status. They are not a normal couple yet, but it is better then what has been in the past. I do give props for that.
Hi Mala. Why didn't ATWT show Noah's reaction following his initial scenes with Luke? Andy why is it when Luke and Noah are on an episode it is for 6-8 minutes while the other stories get double that time?
Why does everything have to be a numbers game, a question of "why doesn't Nuke get xyz?"There are absolutely legitimate complaints about their storyline, sure, but Ali and Chris have had the exact same thing happen to them: Episodes where they drive story, and then episodes where they're not on at all or only on for a few minutes. Aaron, Henry, Vienna, Bonnie, Dallas... they haven't had eight minutes for the entire month.Nuke are not unique in that predicament; in fact, they're better off than a lot of straight characters.

Andy why is it when Luke and Noah are on an episode it is for 6-8 minutes while the other stories get double that time? Because the writers have evidently decided that Noah only exists in Luke's orbit. I would love to learn more about who Noah is aside from just being Luke's boyfriend. And I too wonder why Luke & Noah don't get more airtime, especially considering the publicity they have been garnering for the show. Van has always been incredible & Jake Silbermann has really grown as an actor. He's been exceptional lately! Give him a contract already!
I think the fact that Noah is going to work at Java is a good sign. He can bump into other people there.I think Noah and Dallas could be good friends and it would give poor Dallas something to do.

Because it sort of is about numbers. Someone recently (I can't recall where) broke down the number of appearances of the actors/characters on ATWT. Liberty was at the top of the list. we saw a brand new character more than even Carly, or Jack. Jake Silbermann & Trent Dawson were near the bottom in terms of airtime. People want to see the characters the care about for more than than a blink-and-you'll-miss-them appearance once a week, and a lot of people care about Luke & Noah. Their story is very oddly chopped up. As for Ali & Chris, they get a pretty substantial amount of airtime. And with the exception of Vienna, can Bonnie & Dallas & the others you mention really be compared to Nuke? They aren't driving any story lines.
Quote:I think the fact that Noah is going to work at Java is a good sign. He can bump into other people there.I think Noah and Dallas could be good friends and it would give poor Dallas something to do. Aaw, I would love to see a bromance between Noah & Dallas. They both need some friends.
Quote: As for Ali & Chris, they get a pretty substantial amount of airtime. And with the exception of Vienna, can Bonnie & Dallas & the others you mention really be compared to Nuke? They aren't driving any story lines. Nuke are the new kids on the ATWT block and to say that Henry, who has earned his stripes as comic relief and a long-suffering supporting player for years can't compare to them is really shortsighted. Ditto for Bonnie, whose parents, Duncan and Jessica, were very popular and who had a story of her own the last time she was on the show. For her to be reduced to a dayplayer is a travesty. Ditto for Aaron, who is a legacy character as well. They COULD all be driving storylines, which is my point.I'm not denying Noah and Luke are loved, but there are other characters with a following who are getting much more shafted.
I think what artspirit meant is that even with a storyline, Luke and Noah don't have a lot of screentime. I think we saw more from Henry when he had the Gray Gerard story.
Henry and Bonnie don't have their own storylines so to compare their screentime with Nuke's screentime seems a little odd.
BTW, I would love to see more of Henry, Vienna AND Bonnie, so I hope those scenes at Metro the other day were a sign of more to come.
I was for Luke and Noah in the beginning but now, I'm not so sure. Noah is acting like a big cry baby and it's all about him. But what about Luke? He's the one who put his life on hold for a guy who he loved to help a girl he barely knew. Well Luke move on. Find another guy who will be happy to show you the love you need and deserve.
I just watched ATWT today and I think Reg is alot cuter than Noah. Luke should go out with him. Noah was the first relationship he has had. Luke needs to date other people before settling down to just one person. and if Noah is still in the picture then have them get back together. I think Luke is missing out on the dating ritual.

Wow, Reg did not do it for me at all! I'm sure he's a great guy, but Do.Not.Want. I'm just happy knowing Cyndi will bring Nuke back together.

I use the fast forward key anytime Luke and/or Noah is on screen because I dislike this storyline for more reasons than Luke being a whinner.
I think the problem is that Noah says 'I need a break from this relationship' NOT 'I need some time alone to think'. Those are two different things. Noah is basically saying this relationship is a problem in his life and he needs to get away from it. There's also the fact that Noah somewhat blames Luke for what happened with his father. How is Luke supposed to translate things but other than Noah wants out of this relationship? Yes, Luke is pushy for sure. He gets that from his mother. But I understand Luke's feelings. Noah is giving him no option but to think he and their relationship is the problem. Besides, after all the crap Luke has put up with from Noah for months, to have Noah say 'I've got issues now, see ya' stings.
I have been a long time viewer of ATWT, and I know I'm in the minority here, but the pushing of the homosexual agenda on daytime TV is disturbing to me. The sight of two men sticking their tongues down each others throats or two women doing the same thing makes my stomach turn. I keep up with the story line, but no longer can watch this show.
I have yet to figure out what this purported homosexual "agenda" is. To decorate the world? Spread glitter upon the masses? Institute something by Barbra Streisand as the national anthem?Did I miss a meeting? A memo? As for two men or two women sticking their tongues down each other's throats... it's not like a man and a woman doing that is any less gross and unsanitary. Why can't soaps just feature everybody chastely holding hands? Less bodily fluid swapping in general would be good. Also, in regards to Noah and Luke... I just want Luke to have some fun. Is that too much to ask for? And Noah, with all of his issues, is clearly not any fun.

What tongue swallowing of two men or women are you watching. I haven't seen it that episode yet. I am sure you get off watching the Hets do it with whoever is in the vicinity? Come on get real. The homosexual lifestyle has affected every American in the US. IT's not like they you see Luke and Noah every episode. It seems it's either Carly and Holden and Lily or Alison, Chris, and Aaron. OR Meg, Paul and Sophie. I mean, Luke and Noah might get one day out of the 5 days airing and that's if we are lucky. So before shouting too much homosexual airings going why don't you make sure you know what you are talking about.
For your information, I don't get off watching anyone "do it". So don't make any assumptions about me. There are a lot of us out here that feel the same way about the homosexual agenda being pushed down our throats but they don't post on the soap opera boards! All I needed to see was that one kiss and that did it for me.
Quote:Also, in regards to Noah and Luke... I just want Luke to have some fun. Is that too much to ask for? And Noah, with all of his issues, is clearly not any fun. Tell me about it. It just slays me that someone as cute, good hearted and compassionate as Luke has to BEG someone to love him. Give me a break. Luke should have them lined up begging to be his boyfriend. And it would be nice to see Luke just have some fun. It would be nice to see Luke and Noah have fun together.... but I just don't think Noah is capable of it. He doesn't even smile for God's sake! So if there's another cute gay boy in town who just wants to have a good time, go for it Luke. Maybe if Noah saw that he'd end the pity party and shelve his never ending array of issues.

And it's not being pushed down anyone's throat. It's a fact a life that there are gay people in the world. Ok it's not for you and no one is forcing you to live that way, but some people enjoy seeing something new and fresh on TV and not the same ole scene as someone calling rape or cheating on one's spouse. So you don't have to watch the soap but if you watch and learn about homosexuals maybe you will understand their point of views
Dolly, you aren't alone.
A generation ago, this kind of debate would have been about interracial couples. Remember Duncan and Jessica? When it comes right down to it, it is a bit uncomfortable for me to see Luke and Noah kissing. But it does not make me want to change the channel and I am sure in time, it will be no big deal. I look at it this way, what two people do behind closed doors has no effect whatsoever on my life, so go for it.

Word, Anthony! I just feel like it's unfair for Luke, who just came out himself, to have to drag Noah kicking and screaming out of the closet and to constantly have to ask him for what should be freely given in a relationship: trust, honesty, passion. They're just kids! They should be having fun summer storylines and running around in shorts at the pool.
indeegirl - I had to edit to address your incredibly valid point. To think that as little as 20 years ago someone of my skin tone may not have been seen on daytime being affectionate with a white man... it's amazing, isn't it? Racism was considered *normal*, and how sick is that? Every step we take towards acceptance is a positive one and I am so glad daytime is becoming more diverse.
Also, I admit that ever since Luke came out, I've wanted him with an older, more experienced guy... someone who has been there and done the coming out angst and is free to help him navigate the waters of his first romance. Sort of like Brian and Justin on Queer As Folk except not nearly as rage-inducing, since Brian was a giant jerk.
Now, to put the Admin hat on for a second... let's all remember to keep personal attacks against beliefs that may not agree with our own to a minimum. I know this is a hot button issue, but getting hostile never changes someone's mind.
The homosexual agenda seems pretty simple to me and that is for every man woman and child to accept that behavior as normal. The more its put out there, the more acceptable it will appear. I could care less what people do behind closed doors, that is their business. However I don't choose to watch something that is offensive to me. I also believe in voting with my pocket book so P&G is the sponsor and I have used many of their products over the years. Now when I go to the store I have a list of their products and no longer buy them and believe me I made some drastic changes in my purchasing habits. So now I watch B&B, change the channel, and come back for GL.
The Gay Agenda. I j ust love that. Sounds like some kind of Mafia movie or something. You know, you have your opinions and that's fine. However, what happens when B&B move in that direction, you going to change the channel yet again? What about the others? You going to change the channel every time? I am not saying you have to like it or even condone it, but not to watch something because it has material you don't approve is just not right. Were you against interracial pairing years ago? Just asking. I'm curious to know how ppl react to all controversial materials.
Please explain to me why not watching something that I do not condone is not right. That has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!!! And yes, when any program starts to view subject matter I don

Sort of like Brian and Justin on Queer As Folk except not nearly as rage-inducing, since Brian was a giant jerk.I'm with you on that. I would've loved (and would still love it) if Luke met an older guy who has been there and done that, is openly gay and not twisted in knots about it. In fact, he's happy about it and not just accepts it as his cross to bear (like Noah). Sure he and Luke would have their soapy issues and romantic complications, but they would be of the non coming out variety and there wouldn't be a woman looking to snatch Luke's boyfriend in sight. I think Luke needs to meet a guy like that, someone totally different from Noah. I don't think Noah will ever really completely give himself emotionally to Luke and since Luke is the type of guy who freely gives his heart, they will always have an unbalanced relationship.
Quote:The homosexual agenda seems pretty simple to me and that is for every man woman and child to accept that behavior as normal. The more its put out there, the more acceptable it will appear. Actually, Dolly, you're right. That IS the homosexual agenda. And a human agenda in general. There is nothing wrong with wishing for everyone to treat each other with compassion and understanding. And, again, I have reiterate that we don't do attacks on this board, so Charmed, please watch it with the "narrow-minded" comments and, Dolly, please refrain from implying that some of your fellow posters are abnormal and not deserving of respect.
All I was saying that everyone should respect each other lifestyles rather you condone it or not. But I hear constantly about the Gay Agenda and it makes me upset that ppl will use that phrase to get their point across. Gay and Lesbians only want to be respected and show some consideration in life. So if I made any "narrow minded" remark I am sorry for any abuse I may have given.
Does any one know if Luke or Noah are on next week I hope it is not like some have post that they will be back the week of June 30. I hate the time they are getting it is hard to keep up with the story if that is what it is now
Luke and Noah are indeed on next week.
Quote: They're just kids! They should be having fun summer storylines and running around in shorts at the pool. This is so true, Mala!!! Haven't they had enough angst for a bit? I mean, they are only teenagers - as you said. Perhaps they are going to have a fun sotryline coming up this summer? If JP's teaser about Noah and Luke's summertime SL being romantic is accurate, then maybe we will finally get this fun, summertime storyline? However, considering just how "romantic" the SL has been so far this summer, I have a feeling JP wasn't telling the complete truth. Still, there are still quite a few months left to the summer, so hopefully we will see what JP promised we would see manifest itself on our screens one day soon! It would be a very nice welcome break from the (contrived) angst.
We know know that they are on next Wed. for sure the recap on CBS is for next Wed not this Wed.
Yep, they're on next Wednesday, and the Wednesday after that, and that is it!
Now that Ameera is gone, and the story is getting good for the first time in 4 months, it's back to the backburner with Noah and Luke! They'll get their 8 minutes of screentime per week over the next two weeks and they'll like it! Oh wait, maybe they won't even be on that much with Cyndi Lauper appearing in one of those two weeks.
We as fans just need to face it. This show will never show a firm commitment to telling this story and telling this story right. We should have learned that from the kissing ban, but didn't. We should have learned it from their crappy screentime for the past year, but didn't. We should learn it from Jake never being put on contract, allowing him to flee the show whenever he wants, though he is part of one of the most popular couples on the show (and he freakin' presented at the Emmy Awards last night, the only two from the show to present), but we didn't.
What amazes me is how popular the couple is, despite rarely being featured on the show. Seriously, I would have thought almost all fans would have jumped ship after the discrimination and censorship that the show had put down on Noah and Luke. Yet some fans stopped giving their support, it seems like the vast majority of fans stayed the course. But why? People should have felt outrage and stopped supporting the SL and show, yet most people, including me, stayed with it. But why? Despite the kissing ban apparently being over, considering how little they are on, there's no reason for them to be so popular, yet they are.
I just don't get any of this. Sorry for venting, but I had to let it out.
Well, there are other characters/stories only appearing once per week over the next couple of weeks as well. So.... it's not just Luke and Noah. I would not say they are 'rarely' on either. That's just not true. Much of the Ameera plotline they were on twice a week, sometimes once, a few times three. No, they're not on as much as Carly or Holden or Katie or Meg (and whoever is part of their storyline), and they *never* will be. Luke and Noah fans have a hard time with that fact, but that's just the way it is. And since we haven't seen what the new story is yet (just that there is one that Van teased in a recent interview), it's kind of hard to judge what kind of commitment the show has, IMO. Mala once asked why is it always a numbers game and I agree. I often wonder if Luke and Noah's fans are sitting by the television with stopwatches, marking their screentime by the second.

Luke isn't any different then the others are ATWT. He's in Love and he'll do anything for his lover. So I disagree with you.
