She is a good actress however, I am so used to seeing Martha Byrne playing Lily that it is hard for me to see anyone but MB playing the role. Now if ATWT would have let Lily left Holden, got a divorce and waited a year b4 bringing in Noelle to play Lily then it might have worked. I could just see it. Let Carly and Holden get involve which would make Jack so jealous with envy that would cause some ripples in his and Holden's relationship. Let Holden propose to Carly, Carly says yes. The day of the wedding as the minister was about announce them husband and wife, in walks Lily (Noelle Beck) to stop the wedding. I think it would have worked better.

I really like Noelle Beck a lot and like what she brings to Lily, but it's natural for people to wonder how Martha Byrne would have played scenes like the affair reveal with Holden, because we've seen SO many great Holden-Lily fights with Martha and Jon. Comparisons are inevitable.

I really loved Noelle in yesterday's episode. Very intense! I still miss Martha, but I think they did a good job with this recast. I like her especially in scenes with Lucinda and Luke.

I couldn't help but wonder if the scenes wouldn't have had much more impact with Martha in the role. I think Noelle is a good recast and did a very good job but the scenes still fell flat for me. I think the problem is that I don't see this version of Lily and Holden ever having really been in love. I think it would have worked better if the writers had first sold us on them as a couple when there was a recast before they had Holden cheat. Holden has been lying to her the whole time since we had this version of Lily and that really lessened the whole impact for me. It's not Noelle's fault. And I've seen Jon deliver more passion in other scenes than I saw in this reveal. I'm guessing after working with one person for so long it's hard to make the adjustment too.

I agree that Noelle Beck is doing a good job as Lily. It is, of course, a little jarring considering how recently she started playing Lily after seeing Martha for 20+ years. But she must be doing a good job because I almost feel disloyal to Martha because I am interested in this story. It is awful what happened with Martha and her contract, but things are tight all over, and I guess P&G had to take a stand. I wish Martha the best.

I have to agree. It was hard for me to get any sympathy with Noelle's Lily. I know how Martha's Lily would react but it was difficult for me this time. There was no chemistry to get this reaction. I wish they had something to work with before they moved into this chapter of their lives. I guess the question now is: Will Lily forgive Holden? I know there is no forgiven for Carly. Everyone sees her as the blame. But what they didn't know, Holden pursued her. That should count in Carly's defense for something.

I know that Noelle Beck might be a good actress, but she isn't Lily. In fact I am rooting for Holden and Carly now. Without Martha as Lily, there is NO Lily. Send her out of town, and don't bring her back. I can feel no sympathy to the charactor of Lily. She isn't Lily. MB is Lily, and will always be Lily.

Why is everyone so upset with Holden. Didn't Lily have a long running affair with Dusty? Now she is the injured party? There is NO chemistry with Noelle and Jon. But with Maura, they sizzle. I wish they would send Nu Lily out of town!! Bring back Martha.... I can't get used to Noelle's whiny act. And I'm tired of everyone forgeting Lily strayed first. She gets no sympathy from me. I say GO Holden and Carly. Goodbye Lily!!

Thank you! I thought I was losing my mind. Lily took up with Dusty after she and Holden split. I think Noelle is doing well considering the unenviable task of taking over for Martha. While I agree she hasn't got the chemistry with Jon, she isn't portraying Lily as a screaching whiner, she just seems understandably pissed off. Of course, I would have rather seen this s/l with Martha, I am not totally turned off by Noelle. Maybe she will have some chemistry with Grayson or better yet, Anthony-wouldn't that be interesting......

Yes Lily strayed with Dusty, but at the time, Lily and Holden's marriage was heading for divorce. When Holden strayed with Carly, they were working things out. Holden was getting at both ends so to speak. That's the diffference. Both times they were legally married. First time not emotionally connected. Second time, they were getting connected again, but Holden was also connecting to Carly.

I say "Go Holden." I want to see him have something else to do besides cleaning up after Lily, taking care of her when she's using drugs, etc. I love seeing Holden as an individual character and not just a part of Lily.

I like the Holden/Carly pairing. They had spark. OK let's say fireworks, a regular 4th of July celebration. I think they should make a go out it. It isn't like it's not being done in the real world. I could care less that P/L had sex and about to do it again, but what I am the most upset about is that they did it before L/N. The guys have been together long before P/L pairing. Oh wait, wrong subject. MY BAD.

I agree! Holden and Carly have something! Nu Lily just doesn't give me cause for sympathy. I feel she needs to move on. Give Jon and Maura a chance. Let Jack see what he threw away, cause I'm not seeing it with Janet. Although the actress is beautiful, she doesn't have the chemistry that Jack and Carly have.

Nu Lilly sucks and I don't care what they do with her.

I finally got to watch this week's episodes and I don't like Lily (the character, not the actress) more than ever - I was never really a fan, but now I just can't stand her. I think the actress is good, she's not Lily, but she's a good actress - I just can't stand Lily!!

totally agree. loved her on Loving, but Martha is the Lily. you can see Noelle tryin' so hard. it's not her fault. At least she's better than Heather Rattray was
