The man you love to hate. And not bad to look at either.
So happy that he was Nominated for an Emmy. You go Spinelli. You rock!
Now I agree with you there! Go Spinelli! But Anthony Geary, what has he done in the last yr. to get the nod? I cannot even stand him anymore. Not Anthony, but Luke!

I think he is just nominated because he has been on for so long. I get frustrated because he is gone so much but that is just me.
I love Geary, but I agree that he really hasn't done anything emmy worthy. It's always him or Mo. Meanwhile, Steve Burton is repeatedly ignored for lead actor. I don't get it.
I'd vote for Jason. I don't even care what for. He is soo cute.
Luke has just been, well, more of Luke for this past year. Without Tracy, Luke would've been invisible this past season. But, Spinelli, from the 1st time a frustrated Sonny asked Jason what the heck is he saying... I've loved him. All heart & soul, brings great humor to the show, his nicknames alone should earn an award. He is the perfect foil for both Maxie & Lulu, but it's his loyalty, not seen much on soaps anymore, that makes him the ultimate keeper.
Let's be a little more careful with the spoilers, gang. If you feel you absolutely must include something spoilery, don't want until the middle of the body of your post! Put something in the subject line to warn people.Of course, it probably would be better to refrain from spoilers all together, but what are the chances of that, right?
You're right, I'd say he's earned one, with all the lines he has to memorize and say, wow, I very much doubt I could even read through it with a straight face. He's also very loveable and a loyal friend.
The key with him is he never looks or sounds like he's acting. It just seems so natural. That's what makes the cast of this show so special. No one really ever seems like they're acting. With him, it's extra special because of everything you said. It's alot more than is really expected of anyone on the show with the possible exception of the doctors during some high stakes medical crisis.
Sorry about the spoilers Joe. Guess I was just being lazy. Will be more careful in the future. I do only actually believe anything I read on SOD/SOW website. Others have had plenty of false information.......
You're absolutely right, I never thought about that before. I guess that's the reason, when the storyline is good, that it is so engrossing, like your neighbors fighting outside your window. But Spinelli is so good that you would never guess he doesn't talk like that in real life. I especially like watching him when he's nervous, like when he talks to Sonny. It would be hard enough to say his lines fluently but when he stutters and stumbles wow, it's so believable.
He's perfected the art of slapstick. I think it's one of the reasons he & Kirsten Storms are so good together. She's got that fast talking thing down so perfectly. If Kate fires her, she could be a great decoy for Sam & Spinelli when they're on cases. She could also be a used car salesperson. They have a 30s & 40s era romantic comedy appeal. I love his black & white fantasies where he's Humphrey Bogart & she's the femme fatale du jour. Throw Jason into the mix & it's classic.
I enjoy them together too, I just wish she could tell him she loves him and it be the truth or try to make him realize, like Lulu did, that they can never be more than good friends, she's straddled that fence too long and he's the one who gets hurt. They have done a great job and used a lot of imagination where Spinelli is concerned I just wish they could spread that kind of energy when it comes to the other characters on the show.
Yeah. They're lucky enough to have such a talented cast. If they really worked at it, they could have something special again. Most of the characters are interesting too, so there's really no excuse.
I don't know what it is about Spinelli, but the boy makes me giggle. I think I am ok that he and Maxie aren't "hooking up". I think I would love to see him really take control of his life and become his own man, rather than trying to be whatever blondes wish of him is. Know what I mean? I don't want him to lose his quirky loveableness, but, I would like to see him focus on his PI job and helping Sam. I think he could really come into his own and not seem so childish at times. I think it would be a good wake up call for Maxie to see that using poeple has no reward. I would like them to continue to be friends, and they have amazing chemistry, but again, I am okay with the no romance thing, at least for now.
I do agree but I think something drastic would have to happen for that to happen.
Like her really hooking up with Johnny.
or Matt or Ethan. That might do it.
Pretty much any guy she hooks up with will freak Spinelli out. I wish she'd just learn to stand on her own & stop leading him on. They're really cute together, but she's probably always going to be attracted to the darker men. I don't ever see her settling for a nice guy. Jesse was a fluke. The reason it lasted with Coop was because he was one of the mercenaries Jerry had with him at the MetroCourt & because he was Sonny's guy inside PCPD. It's not enough for poor Spinelli to be Jason's computer geek. Matt won't do either because once he met little Emma, he got babies on the brain & wants a family too. Ethan works, though.
They need to bring on a beautiful woman who is also into computers etc. That might do it. A woman he can talk to who understands him without him explaining all the time.
When they said who got the nom's this year for the daytome emmy's. This kid was the only one I was glad about, who I feel like deserves to win.
Bradford Anderson is great. To be able to make a character as different and layered and smart as Spinelli come to life is amazing. I hope he stays in this business he could go a long way.

Also, Rick is very suave, he just has a certian smoothness to him, that I find very appealing.
