I think Ethan was telling the truth about why he came to Port Charles. He was on his way there when he met Rebecca. I don't think he's scamming Luke, but he is scamming people close to Luke. Luke is fond of Nik & he's also fond of the Qs. Luke understood Nik's pain & loss when Em died & it forged a bond between them, because while Laura was alive, at the time, she might as well have been dead. He feels protective of Nik because of that. Also, when they thought Lucky was dead, the pain Luke felt was very real. He understands what the Qs are going through & he would feel some things are just taboo & should not be used to scam people. You're right. There is another partner in the Haunted Star. It's Johnny. I remember he mentioned that when he was talking about having the money for the garage. Once the HS was back in operation, Johnny had money coming in. Ethan would be a fool to steal from him, especially now that he's back in the family business.
I just don't like Ethan, there's just something about him, like maybe he's the type to pick your pocket, and tell you to have a great day while he's getting ready to slit your throat. He gives me the willies. I wouldn't want to be alone with him.
Until he was talking to Rebecca & got all jealous when he asked about her feelings for Nik, I wouldn't have agreed about the throat slitting part, but I got a creep vibe from him then, too. Not the happy-go-lucky con man who flies by the seat of his pants. How he's been right along, he's seemed harmless. Annoying, but harmless. But, after the way he was talking to Rebecca, no. This new shade to his character has me feeling the same way, like he'd slit your throat, or in his case, make you your own special drink laced with arsenic.
Jackass of the day award goes to Liz & Claudia, with honorable mentions to Patrick, Robin, Sonny & Alexis.I gave Alexis honorable mention even though she wasn't on screen because of the wonderfully attentive & involved way she's raising her children. Teen daughter is a pot smoking tramp. Gosh. How will Molly trump her?Patrick & Robin get honorable mention for the insensitive way they're acting toward Matt. He already feels like a failure & the first thing they want to do is look over the chart & the surgical minutes, like the principal checking to see if little Matty's homework's complete. Yes, I know their hearts were in the right place, but Matt felt like he was being scolded. They also received honorable mention for their constant self congratulation on miracle Michael, despite the fact that the child is clearly having severe behavioral issues & unable to make rational decisions. They know this. Robin's seen his violent outbursts firsthand. Yet, they continue to congratulate themselves on a job well done. What I'm giving honorable mention to Sonny for is what is being shown in coming attractions. They show Sonny saying to Ric that he won't tolerate disloyalty. When Ric slept with Claudia, it was Sonny who told her he didn't care what she did or who she did it with. He can't pick & choose when he & Ric are brothers. Either they are or they aren't. He gave Claudia carte blanche to sleep with whoever she wanted to. He can't complain because she chose, "Runner up Ric."But, the trophy for Jackass of the day award will be shared by Liz & Claudia. Liz gets it for her nauseating suck up to Patrick, "Matt's a good surgeon, but you're an artist." Claudia gets it for the way she spoke to Kelly. Despite her dislike for Claudia, Kelly is going out of her way to help her with her pregnancy. She gave her sound medical advice & was treated to Claudia's, "I'm the queen of the universe," attitude. Kelly really honored her hippocratic oath by not strangling her. Claudia also gets it for her temper tantrum diatribe that includes her referring to Sonny's house as hers, her deciding who Sonny can & can't see & her overall possessive attitude. It's completely ridiculous considering that everyone in the room knows she is responsible for Michael's shooting. If she had any sense at all, she would be the meek little housewife, doing nothing to irritate a man who knows she's responsible for all the hell his son is going through & might possibly be trying to pass his brother's baby off as his just to save her life.
Wow I sure missed a lot, the digital turnover had ABC off the air all afternoon. Anyone care to fill me in?
I can only tell you about GH. Other than what I said before you, Kristina offered Michael pot & then, tried to justify it to Jason, saying Michael was in pain. Then, when Jason lectured her, she smart mouthed him. "What right do you have to be the morality police? You kill people." She wants her daddy's attention. Is she going to say something like that when he punishes her for something? Great parenting, Alexis. Jason should've told her "Hey, do you want to be strung out laying in some condemned, rat infested tenament? Or a jail cell? Because that's where you're headed. Even DA Alexis Davis will turn her back on you." Someone needs to tell the reality of what her stupid behavior can cause. Pretty much every even slightly slutty woman on that show has been attacked by a man at some point in their lives, usually when they're around her age (Carly, Sam, Maxie, Lulu, Liz). She needs to hear from one of them, especially if she's just all talk like Liz was when that happened to her.
Thank you very much! Usually you miss a day, you don't miss much but I knew Fri would be eventful. Oh well As I read you're entry I was thinking the same thing about her ending up around a guy that doesn't understand what no means. However, I doubt that anyone can tell her anything, she probably figures that with her parents no one would dare hurt her. I really hope that she doesn't have that happen but it sure looks like it's heading that way.
Well, hopefully, Jason will continue to stay one step ahead of her. But, I'm afraid the way these kids are behaving, it's going to be a long summer.
My choice for Jackass of the day for today will be shared by the husband & wife team of Patrick & Robin. They went from congratulating themselves on the success of Michael's surgery (despite numerous indications that something is really wrong with him) to automatically assuming that Matt botched the woman's surgery (despite the fact that they were told by all the nurses who assisted & the anesthesiologist that Matt performed the procedure correctly). "I should've done it. I'm the better surgeon." Talk about an ego the size of a room. No wonder Matt constantly feels the need to prove himself to the "Great" Dr. Drake. This opinion is from a fan of Patrick, so you know he's getting to be a bit too much. Robin actually should be listed as a runner-up due to the fact that she at least raised the possibility that the injury was just too severe that it wouldn't have mattered which surgeon performed the operation.
How in the world is he supposed to do his enforcer job, find out and get proof on who shot Michael, be there when Carly has a bad day, keep an eye on Claudia AND babysit 2 teenagers that have no respect for him at all???
Jason can do anything & that's why Sonny keeps him around. No matter what anyone needs, he can & will do it, because he learned a long time ago, that it won't get done if he doesn't do it himself. As for respecting him, Michael does, as far as he's been raised to respect adults. Carly's really tried to teach him to, but since Sonny's always been Michael's prime role model, it kind of goes in one ear & out the other. And, Kristina, I do not know why they turned her into this. It makes no sense to me. If she was a quiet, sad little mouse, it would make more sense than the characature of a "mob princess," that they're showing. If she's supposedly had very little to no contact with her father as she's grown up, how is it that she's behaving like someone who grew up in that life? Another bad goof on the writers' parts.
Everytime I see Kristina I think .... That is what Claudia must have been like at that age. She even resembles her.
Yeah, & it doesn't go with the little girl who very rarely got to see her dad & whose prime male influences were Ric & Jason, who may have spoiled her, but not the way a "mob princess" would be spoiled. They should've thought of all of this before making her behave this way. A child who had to deal with things like her mother's cancer, Sonny not being in her life much, seeing Diego murdered & then seeing him all over town, what happened to Michael, would not behave the way she is. If anything, she might cling to the people she still has left (Alexis & Sam). And, she definitely wouldn't be snotty to Jason. She actually had a bit of a crush on him when she was little. Although she was another one who was only allowed to hear half the story & what she could eavesdrop on before getting caught. So, she probably doesn't know why Sam & Jason broke up.
You hit the nail on the head!!! Ditto
I think the Jackass Award for Tuesday's show should go to Matt for talking too much and too loud (granted he was drunk but whatever) at the bar while Diane took copius notes.BTW, loved, loved, loved Diane and Alexis sitting on the pool table watching the action. Gawd I love those two. And what about when Diane went to Patrick's house Love when she did her thing and said: "nighty night". I swear it was worth the wait to see those two (Di and Alexis) together again.
Yes, but they're going to mess with their friendship to do it. As for Matt being a jackass, by going to a public place like Jake's to get wasted, yes. But, the real jackass in that conversation was Patrick because he was sober & speaking much louder than Matt when he gave her a good earfull. As for Wednesday's jackass, I'd say it was a tie between Nik & Ethan. Nik, for going against his instincts. Yes, we all know Rebecca's falling for Nik for real, but Liz is right. Even if Rebecca's motives are pure at this point, he shouldn't be with anyone until he's properly grieved for Emily & can put that in the past. Until he can do that, he's never going to be truly happy with any woman. Even if Rebecca turned herself into a complete clone of Emily, he'd still miss Em.Ethan gets it for too many reasons to list. The "shiney new son" is a total misnomer. He looks like he needs a shower & a good barber & to learn how to use an iron. He also deserves it for deciding that the Haunted Star, a casino that the absent Luke is only part owner of, is a good place to hold secret meetings with the other surprise relative in town. Tracy is constantly in there, checking up on Luke & him & if Johnny had overheard that conversation, he wouldn't have even let them know he was there. He'd have gone straight to Nik or Lulu. I also think he, the "expert" con man deserves it for not being able to think on his feet. He & Rebecca were arguing when Tracy found them together. All he had to do was "admit" he was trying to get Rebecca to help him rig the card game he's planning & that she refused. Tracy would've bought that & he wouldn't have been left twisting. Some expert.
The idea of Nik ever being with Rebecca is just creepy. I'm sorry buy I can't buy him every getting past the fact that she is Emily's identical twin. If she didn't have an agenda, she would know that he'll never look at her and not see Emily. Nobody wants to be a standin.
Quote: Ethan gets it for too many reasons to list. The "shiney new son" is a total misnomer. He looks like he needs a shower & a good barber & to learn how to use an iron Exactly I thought what woman could be attracted to this guy that looks unkept. Dont they pay him when he is not stealing. For his job he needs to look suave in a so called highclass casino.
Yeah. It's a shame too. He's a good looking guy & with that accent, he'd be bringing women in & business would be better than ever. Give him a good haircut & shave & put a tux on him & he'll look like a different person. As it is now, he looks like he needs a handout & a key to a gas station restroom. Thursday's Jackass award goes to Sonny easily. His jealousy is bordering on obsessive. He's so out of control that he's looking to get Johnny killed just because he & Liv are having some fun. Sonny should have thought of all of this before he married the vampire bat. He's making babies with a woman he claims he can't stand & Liv's supposed to do what? Become a nun? He's an a**. Even after this thing with Johnny runs it's course, I hope Liv is smart enough to stay away from Sonny. If she wants to walk on the wild side, she should go for Jason.
I think the Ultimate Jackass award goes to the writers for giving us such crap. Hee Haw!
That goes without saying.
Exactly. There are getting to be more and more FF moments. The on again/off again between Nicolas and Rebecca is old. If Nicolas sees Emily every time he looks at Rebecca shouldn't he be given some time to resolve this for himself? A quickie talk from Monica isn't going to make it any easier to get over his reservations.
If Lucky is going to get into the investigation of Rebecca's past, then do it. Arguing with Elizabeth about it is another FF moment. Why can't he just humor Elizabeth? I think he'll be surprised by what he finds.
The teen crowd spending their free time at Jake's and getting served is ridiculous. As someone said, what about Kelly's? That's where everyone else hung out when they were underage. Michael can get into a fight just as easily there and just as easily sober. So now that Michael has been knocked out, will Coleman call Jason, so he can cover up another issue and remain Michael's friend? There are just too many important things that are different between Michael and Jason's accidents for Jason to be the only one that understands. Michael has not lost his memory. He remembers everyone and his former life. Jason was an adult and could make his own decisions. Michael is still a child. Why hasn't anyone remebered that Carly had been shot in the head as well and isn't totally clueless about what is going on in her son's life?
Claudia is just out of control. Her constant baiting of Jason, her screaming at Rick and her attempts to control Johnny need to be resolved. After her hit on Jason fails, will she take one out on Jax when he tries to blackmail her? It appears that Uncle Rudy's guys aren't any better than the ones Claudia gets out of mercenaries 'r us.
Well that says it all.
Sonny takes the award for Friday. His jealousy of Liv & Johnny is pathological. But, he's been jealous of Johnny since he first met the kid. What is it about Johnny's life that Sonny wishes was his? He can see all the so-called "advantages" of being a gangster's son just by looking at his own son's struggles over the years. Johnny went through all the things Michael's had to deal with over the years, minus being shot in the head. Maybe Sonny wishes he, as a 7 year old got to watch his father murder his mother for protecting him. But whatever his reasons for the jealousy of Johnny, sending him into a situation where he could very well be killed is pathetic & makes Sonny almost sleazy enough to deserve Claudia.
Just give Sonny's azz the Lifetime Achievement Jackass Award. He has become nauseating. Is there anybody on that show that can humble him, make him shut up, or go away. Is there an empty bed next to Papa Zagara that Sonny can occupy. His dimples don't even turn me on anymore. And thats saying something.
I wish someone would do something to set him straight & make him realize the world doesn't revolve around him. Also, make him realize that the messy, no win situation he's in, with his pregnant, lunatic wife & his situation with the old girlfriend he suddenly wants back, is all his fault. He made this situation & the answer isn't to get Johnny killed because, a.) Liv will blame him anyway if something happens to Johnny & b.) if she wants to sleep with hunky younger men, there's enough of them in Port Chuck for her to grab another one. This is his pattern. He makes a huge mess & then whines about how awful his life is until Jason can't take the whining anymore & fixes his problem. Personally, I think Liv & Jason should get together. It's the perfect time. They're both concerned about Claudia destroying Sonny's life & could easily bond when they team up to protect him. It would serve Sonny right & it would be poetic justice & come full circle to when Sonny stole Carly from Jason.
I really don't like the thought of them together but when you put it like that it would be good for Sonny's butt. I think her and Johnny are hot together.
So do I, but you know there's only so long they'll keep that going. They'll have to put them with someone their own ages. I think she & Jason would be good because she understands the business & the way it works, she & Carly are buds so she wouldn't be busting in on him every five minutes trying to drive her away, I doubt his long silences would bother her & she gets a kick out of Spinelli. She also seems in need of a long motorcycle ride. Also, Jason likes women with a balance of tough & vulnerable. She fits his pattern (except for Courtney)--petite brunette, with brown eyes. She can double talk every bit as well as Sam or Carly & as independant as she is, she wouldn't refuse a little bit of spoiling like Jason likes to do with his ladies. One thing I am sure of is that Jason & Sam should just stay friends. Making him get back together with her would be him acting out of character. For what she did, he wouldn't be able to get past it to that point. Dealing with her as friends is one thing. I can't see him falling back in love with a woman, who not only stood by & watched as his son was kidnapped, but also helped the kidnapper get the things she needed for the baby. That's too farfetched, even for a soap opera.
I agree; Jason and Sam should remain friends only. I think TPTB will play that one right. So far, so good. Love the comment that Liv seems in need of a long motorcycle ride . I could use one myself.
I like Olivia with Johnny, they are hot, but also the idea of her with Jason hmm.. . They might have some sparks, have to wait and see but... the reaction of Sonny, OMG, that would be worth watching. He doesn't want her for himself, at least not now, but he wants her to wait patiently "alone" in case he decides he wants her. What a pig. I would love to see him try to rationalize to Jason why he needs Olivia to be waiting for him.
He tried to do some rationalizing today to Jason about why he hates Liv with Johnny. Jason just gave him that Jason stare down we all know and love.
He doesn't give Sonny that stare nearly enough. I'd just love to know what Jason really thinks of some of the stupid things Sonny says & does. I think he & Liv should grab a bottle of tequila & commiserate about what an [censored] Sonny is.
He probably thinks Sonny isn't worth one of his long drawn out stares and I totally agree with him
Oh, but they're always so much fun. No matter who he gives that look to, especially Sonny. But, I think it's the funniest when he does that to Maxie & she's happily oblivious, chattering away. They're funny together. But, as far as Sonny goes, I think he needs a good kick in the backside for the whole mess. He really is a jerk when it comes to Olivia. He'd probably be an idiot no matter who she was seeing, but it's worse because he's been jealous of Johnny since way before Liv came to town. Jason & half the town warned Sonny not to marry Claudia & he did it anyway. So, now, he deserves to be stuck with her. But, the audience doesn't deserve it. Unless it's payback because we wanted SJB back. "You wanted her back. Now, you're stuck with her in a horrible role where she's written into a corner & we have to invent some crazy, convoluted plot to redeem her, that you'll see right through." In other words, be careful what you wish for.
Oh yea, Jason and Maxie together is great. I even rewind them at times.
Monday's Jackass award goes jointly to Mr. & Mrs. Corinthos. He gets it for continuosly letting that pig he's married to manipulate him & for his physical problem that should it happen outside could get him locked up for flashing. He'd have alot less problems in his life if he could learn to keep that zipper up. Claudia gets the award for yet another botched hit. Thankfully, this one was as successful as the one on Jerry. She once again trusted someone she doesn't know to get the job done. This time, she put her brother right in the line of fire & made him a target. It would've served her right if her brother had been seriously wounded because of her stupidity. Uncle Rudy's obviously completely out of the loop on the situation in Port Charles because all he did was look in the family rolodex when he found the hit men & they clearly have no love for either Claudia or Johnny.
Looked in the family rolodex LJ??? ROTFLMAO....good one
I'm giving my Jackass of the Day, Week & Month award to everyone who should have but hasn't kicked the living sh*t out of Claudia by now. Jason, Olivia & Carly. WTF!! Enough is enough! Who cares about Sonny or if she's pregnant. Everytime Olivia tells Sonny or John she's biting her tongue, I scream at the TV. "Stop biting it, just kick the crap out of her!!!!" I am so sick of her.
Well, that award will go to the majority of the people on that show. Just about everyone has had some kind of interaction with her. Oh hell, just give the award to the writers for not writing an azz kicking storyline into the script.
I totally agree. Pregnant or not, she's got to suffer already. I think, if they all want to protect that baby, they should take a page out of Ric's book & lock her in a panic room until the baby's born & then, take care of her. She's just not cut out to be a mother. Even Johnny, the "one person in this world" she loves, would be better off without that albatross around his neck! If she doesn't understand by now, how badly she screwed up when she put that hit on Jason (her husband's best friend, brother, son & enforcer all rolled into one), then she's too stupid to live.Surprisingly, she doesn't get my Jackass of the Day award for Tuesday. Today, the award goes to Sonny & as adorable as they all are, his guards. Sonny gets it because of the insane (literally) hatred he has for Johnny & the extreme jealousy, which will only get worse when Michael bonds with him. Anthony warned Sonny Claudia would drive him nuts. She is & it isn't a far drive. The guards get it for not having the sense to be hypervigilant in their supervision of Michael since he got out of the hospital. Jason should have insisted that anytime Michael acted in a way that put himself or others in danger, they should intervene. If they wanted to avoid Michael meeting another serious injury, they'd be watching him all the time & would have known he ran away to Sonny's & would've also known he left the house in the dark & went off into the woods. I know he's a teenager & all of that, but he's also a teenager recovering from a bullet wound he received when the guards were not with him.
I loved that "not far to drive" Thank you. I needed a good laugh.I just adore the scenes where Johnny shuts Claudia up , He seems to be the only one that can. As for Uncle Rudy, I think he knows exactly what Claudia is and just pretended to be a help. Without Claudia, Johnny or Jason taking back the Zaccara property would have been a lot easier. I think the hit man was going to shoot both men then take out Claudia (Sonny probably would be blamed for all but Jason's anyway). I can't imagine that either one of them is a real asset to the Zaccara family.
Totally agree about the guards. I have never seen the house of a mobster where people just come and go as they please and most of the time through the patio door. Someone is always lurking outside looking in and most of the time waiting to surprise Claudia.
That's always bothered me from the days of Sonny living in the penthouse. What good is having guards if they're never there when you need them? In real life, upon hearing about the adventure in the woods, Jason would go find all the guards & kill the lot of them. The writers have to start remembering what kind of characters they are writing for. The biggest problem with this mob story from the beginning is they've written it like it was an ordinary business. It's interchangable with ELQ or J&J Jax. Crime families are not like corporations. The only thing they have in common is they have a hierarchy & sometimes pass the business to the next generation. Mob families consider mistakes made by guards to be betrayal & they deal with it with a bullet to the back of the head. I love Max & Milo & Enzo's adorable, but they wouldn't last 5 minutes in a real mob family. As for Wednesday's Jackass of the Day, I pick Alexis for her cluelessness regarding her daughter's behavior & her attitude toward Michael. She's one of several people who've been told that Michael can't be agitated. Jax told her while Michael was still in the hospital. So, what does she do? She starts telling Michael (behind Kristina's back--Way to build trust with your kid!) that he should stay away from Kristina or visit with her with Alexis, who's never home, supervising. Then, she's surprised when he reacts exactly the way she's been told he's not supposed to. I give Claudia credit for stepping in then. She understood what the mother of the year didn't. That Alexis is a lousy parent in every way. I don't know why they went this way with Alexis. She used to be so cool, but motherhood for her has been a total failure. I feel for poor Molly. With her genetics, Kristina's going to look like a walk in the park.
I think Alexis could be a great mom but she is so wrapped up in her own life and worrying about her kids tomorrows that she can't fathom today. All she would have to do is REMEMBER what it was like and what it felt like when she was a teenager and she would at least some understanding of what is going on. And she has to realize that Kristina needs her Dad, it is not like he was dead or unavailable, she needs to allow access. If they do this and also listen to Sam they maybe able to stop disaster before it happens.
The problem for Alexis is that she did not have a normal life as a child. After Helena killed her mother in front of her, she was taken in and raised by the Cassadines. She wasn't wanted around and Helena never let her forget that she could be eliminated at a moments notice. Where would Alexis have learned about how to be a teenager and how to be a mother? Helena never won any mother of the year awards and couldn't be a role model for anyone.
I think it should go to everyone who is ignoring the fact that Micahel needs help and those who recognize that he does, but won't say or do anything.
What Alexis should do is talk to Sonny, Carly & her best bud Jax. Not the kid who has the problem.
Yes, & quit with this nonsense that Michael has to come to her house to see Kristina with her supervision. What is he supposed to do? Make an appointment? Alexis is never home. That's why her 16 year old daughter's wandering all over the place & hanging out in bars. The woman's turned into a total flake. I bet NLG is not happy with the moronic turn Alexis has taken. I mean she was never the greatest mother. Kristina's been wandering off on her since she could walk. But, she's absolutely ridiculous now & makes all working mothers look incompetant & oblivious to who their children really are.
You know, that's why I'm kind of surprised they made Kristina out to be this bratty, entitled kid. Alexis has always been the overachieving working mom. This kid spent more time with Viola & Sam so for her to have this princess-y attitude just doesn't jive with me. The people she should have been around growing up, Sam, Jason, Carly, Jax, Nic, Emily, these people should have had some influence on her as well and I just don't see her turning out the way they're portraing her. Of course Nic doesn't spend time with his own kid, so maybe Kristina wasn't at spoon island that often.
