Broadway and TV Performer Shelly Burch Returns to NY with Incurably Romantic
A Cabaret Created and Directed by Theater Legend Martin Charnin

Shelly Burch is well known to New York audiences for her roles in Broadway shows such as Annie, Stop the World (with Sammy Davis Jr.) and as Claudia in the original company of Tommy Tune’s Nine. She was also revered by the TV-viewing nation as the delightfully devilish Delila on One Life to Live, a role she played for eight tempestuous years.  Shelly now returns the NY cabaret scene with Incurably Romantic, a musical entertainment conceived and directed by her Tony, Grammy and Emmy award-winning husband, theatrical legend Martin Charnin, the creator, lyricist and director of, among many other productions, Broadway’s Annie.  Shelly will bringIncurably Romantic to the Metropolitan Room for three nights, Thursday, October 30, Friday, October 31 and Thursday, Dec 4, accompanied by the superb David Shenton Trio.

The beautiful Ms. Burch, described in the NY press as a “Modigliani goddess with a strong voice and an almost unearthly presence,” will bring her big, expressive vocal skills and her irrepressible sense of humor to the proceedings, shown off to perfection in songs by composers including: Stephen Sondheim, Harold Arlen, Leonard Bernstein, Jacques Brel and Jule Styne. She will also perform her glorious signature song “A Very Unusual Way” by Maury Yeston from Nine.  Mr. Charnin has also contributed a wealth of wonderfully wry special material created specifically for Ms. Burch.
