Yeah its a shame that they had to age him upit won't be the same...

My first question is how they are going to explain the aging? He was shot last year. It wasn't like he left to go to boarding shcool then came back a teenager. This is a terrible decision.

I just went and googled Drew Garrett (nu-michael) and he appears to be a blondie. I was really hoping they would keep the red hair, but I guess not. I hate rewriting of history, it shows no respect to the viewers!

The announcement is barely a few hours old, so don't go jumping to the conclusion that anyone is "rewriting" history or not respecting viewers. Hair color is one of the easiest things for an actor to alter; that's nothing. If you searched the Web and found a picture of him wearing a hat, would you scream that GH was making him wear a hat in every scene? Of course not. There are currently no photos of Drew from GH -- because we would have them if they existed -- so give him (and the show) a break.

Just making an obsevation, didn't know it would cause you to blow a fuse! i did not even think I was harsh. So, should I only make comments when I agree with the writers. I thought you could write freely here. I guess I was wrong. I do this has to do with a previous post, though.

And also, I was respectful to the boy. Said nothing at all bad about him. Was just surprised he was blonde. Oh, shoot I said it again. oh well!

Getting back the original thread here. Any idea what the exact date will be in May when the nuMichael will show up and if there's any plans to bring in more teens? (Michael will need a girl to crush on at some point...LOL)

So I am extra sad that they have let Dylan Cash go...I know know/knew him personally, and his parents too. He lives in Cerritos, California, and I used to work at Cerritos Lanes (an AMF bowling center) were his parents used to come and bowl and hang out in the Bar afterwards. Let me tell you, he is just as sweat in person as he comes across on screen. He always would ask me to make him popcorn chicken (his favorite), I always had to go look for him when his food was ready, he was always in the same place (the game room LOL) Of course me being a GH watcher, I would talk to him about his "day job." I also have a signed autograph from him. GH has done wrong by him in my eyes. I mean he's at the age for some good story telling. I really thought he would have been the next Robin growing up on screen. But as we all know...it's time for Guza to one up the Mob story by aging Michael and inserting him into the BIG picture. Sonny is his adopted dad so they aren't blood related, AJ is his real dad. Still they are bro & sis. To me it's too gross to think about. Yuck!All I know is this new guy has big shoes to fill. To me Cash was one of those actors like, Robin or Starr (OLTL) who you just want to see grow up. To me, they are that good. Cash one of those rare special young actors. I will miss him.

Okay...I understand what you are saying now. I just consider Sonny dad to Michael and not "donation deposit" AJ. If they do try to put them together I will gross out. (Like Steffy and Rick on B&B...disgusting!!!) I'm excited to see what nuMichael will be like. While I will miss Cash as Michael...I'm excited to see Michael wake up.

I just saw the picture that SD has on the home page. While he is blonde (& looks nothing like the Michael I grew to love) I must admit he could easily pass as Carly's (LW) son. Also he easily passes as Jason's nephew.

I hate to say this but this for me is the straw that breaks the camels back. I am done with GH. I have watched since the 70's but I can't stomach this change. To age Michael is stupid in my eyes. The actor who plays him should continue to play him. One of the reason's I am such a One Life to Live fan is because they don't do that. With the exception of Jessica we say a lot of the actors grow up on that show. Cash was an amazing actor and could really hold his own. I wish the new actor nothing but luck but I will not be watching. I am not going to do a huge protest like other shows have done but I am gone.

Now I wonder if they will eventually age Morgan in order to close the new age gap?Otherwise, it might seem kind of weird. I also don't like teh idea of pairing Kristina and Michael, eww gross is all I have to say about that. Blood or not, just don't want to go there. But, perhaps it could be the satrt of the "younger" crowd moving up since GH doesn't really have any of that right now. They could probably age Molly eventually too, again the whole age gap thing.I can't think of anyone else right jow ho may have "long last children/teenagers" that could come back, but it might be kind of cool to see schoolmates who are non related to the characters currently on the canvas, which could produce interesting storylines. Perhaps peer pressure stuff and NOT involving the parents of said "troublesome" teen becuase they a Quartermaine, Corinthos, Zacchara, Cassadine, etc (I think you get my drift) I think if the writers truly wanted to make this a good move, there is a lot of potential. However, having said that, perhaps we need new writers? Maybe ones who aren't afraid to take rela chances and give quality writing.

From the time Michael was born he had red hair. The comment was made a few times that he got that from his grandmother Bobbie Spencer, Carly

I agree. As much as I will miss the original I may really like this new one. I never was a big fan of Carly #1, but I loved # 2. I was so mad that there would be a #3, even though I really liked the actress (LH) from way back when I used to watch Loving (I think it was called that) anyway if #3 Leaves & is replaced I wold freak out. She is so good. To me it would be like trying to get a new Laura or Brenda. I couldn't accept that. Anyway my point is... It's my hope this boy will grow on me. I open to try, because I have been a loyal fan for more years than I want to count.

Laura Wright, #3, is actually #4. I forget who played #3, but I am sure she was there, during the Reese storyline.

Oh, I think your right. Didn't some odd person play her for a few weeks? It was some brown headed person who, so did not fit the role??? Or she filled in for TB for a while??? The more I think about it, your right, but the person must not be memorable... I'm not meaning to be mean, but some people should not play some charactors.

Lucky #1 had fairly dark hair, Lucky #2 was a blonde, Lucky #3 came on as a blonde and then slowly darkened his hair. Let's just get someone that can act.

I don't think the character should be aged. But I never like that on any soap. But with everything on the show I am officially done. No big deal. I am just one person. I'm willing to give nuMichael a chance, but having watched Dylan Cash over the years, I am sad that the creativity on the show has gone this far downhill. I don't believe they were out of ideas for a kid his age- the same show who wrote for Robin her whole childhood, Georgie & Maxie were his age when they started getting good stories & were allowed to grow up with the characters, as were Lucky, Em & Liz. There's no excuse for aging a character as complex as Michael. I'm afraid his big awakening is going to be a bad repeat of "anger boy." All we need is an irrationally vengeful cop & we're all set.

Jennifer Bransford wasn't given a chance. She was thrown into story midstream doing things that were way out of character for Carly.Personally, while I ADORE Laura wright, I believe if Jenny B was given time, we would love her as Carly.

But once she got her footing and grasp on Carly, she was off to the races. They didn't give Bransford that chance because when Laura wright became available, they snatched her right up.What I love about Laura's Carly is that she imbues the edginess of SB's Carly with the softness of TB's Carly, and sells it well.

Laura is by far the best Carly. She can be aggravating and annoying and downright unlikeable. And then she can turn around and be the most sympathetic character out there. She has taken a one dimensional spoiled brat and shown growth and maturity.

I completely agree with you. I really enjoyed Sarah Brown and Tamara Braun as Carly, but Laura Wright definitley has the right combination. I find myself hating her and loving her all at once. I think what Laura Wright brings to Carly is a healthy does of realism. This is who Carly always had the potential to be - Wright is Carly.

She has taken Carly to a whole new level but it is a shame the Jenny got treated so badly but believe that is what happened on All My Kids with the Greenlee character.

I am going to miss Cash too. I was really hoping we could watch him grow up like we did Robin. And the red hair issue, Michael was born with red hair and to me it is his identity. It is just the essance of Michael. And it comes from his grandma, the missing Bobby.
