Nothing says the holidays like mercenaries (Jerry Jax), gunshot wounds (Robin being operated by med student Emily Quartermaine), heart attacks (Alan) & pregnant women in distress (Liz, when pregnant with Jake). When I read in SOW that the "Metro Court" hostage siege was the choice of episodes to be shown for today & Christmas Eve, I hoped they got something wrong, but they didn't. I admit, I'm a cornball. I prefer when GH gives us actual gifts at holiday time. I like to see Christmas' past. If they wanted to play something older, why not a holiday episode? Personally, the whole "Metro Court" thing is a lump of coal for me for a lot of reasons. While the acting was great, the story was crap. Given all the lives that were on the line, the story should not have been so boring. About the only good thing was that it gave the new viewers out their a chance to see a more mature Carly than what they are seeing now.

I did not watch today once I saw that it was these episodes. I do not want to watch Alan suffering the heart attack that killed him all over again. I have a deeply personal reason which I admit is part of it. My mother died the same day as Alan, also of a massive heart attack. It was difficult to see the first time & I'm sure it hasn't gotten easier. Stuart Damon was fantastic in those scenes & while I've missed Alan from time to time, I'd prefer a Quartermaine Christmas episode anyday. Even Jason in a reindeer sweater. JMO.

Ditto LJ. As soon as I saw what episode was playing I calmly deleted it and tuned in to Lifetime Network.
