Monday

Carly arrived at the nurses' station to meet Jax, who injured a tendon on his right hand. Jerry said daredevil Jax got hurt while free-climbing. Jerry assured her Jax knew what he was getting into when he married her. Carly explained that she and Sonny were overcome with grief the night they cheated. Then she confronted the newly-shorn Jax, who assured her he is fine, but left with his brother.

Kate told Sonny she loves him and believes he was vulnerable to Carly's predation — something that could happen again. Sonny threatened to break a mirror if she doesn't marry him. He challenged her to shatter the mirror herself, suggesting that would prove she's thinking with her head, not her heart, and that would convince him they are over. She couldn't break it, so Sonny said she was following her heart, which would lead her to him.

At Shadybrook, Nikolas tried to reassure Lulu that Johnny won't be convicted because of her — Claudia's story was very convincing. Meanwhile, Anthony told Trevor that their plant on the jury should get Johnny off. Trevor pointed out Claudia's unnatural connection to her brother. At the courthouse, Epiphany was elected jury foreperson. Edward agitated for a guilty verdict, but not everyone (including Epiphany) was on board. She pointed out that Lulu is Edward's granddaughter by marriage. Mrs. Albright insisted Scotty is only out for revenge, and later she tried to convince the other ladies that Johnny was just trying to protect his sister. Growing suspicious, Epiphany and several other jurors caught Mrs. Albright talking to Anthony on a cell phone. Back at Shadybrook, Lulu visited Laura, who still insisted Lucky and Nikolas not be told she's awake. Just as Lulu left her, Lucky arrived and confessed that he hasn't been sleeping from worrying about his loved ones. Meanwhile, Ric visited Claudia and Johnny to warn them not to get overconfident. Claudia and Ric got very close. Later, Ric arranged for Johnny to take a call from Lulu.

Elizabeth assured Jason that she doesn't expect their liaison to go anywhere. She accepts the life he's chosen — and everybody knows they're involved as a result of his trial last summer. She has tried to relive that night that Jake was conceived because Jason let his guard down and let her in that night. Jason kept saying the usual: that he's afraid his enemies will use her as leverage. She said she can't live without him. She promised to leave if it gets too painful. Liz trotted out "The Last Lecture" to demand he tell her how he feels. He sputtered, then kissed her and carried her upstairs. At that moment Spinelli returned to the penthouse, followed closely by a tearful Carly. She went upstairs intending to use the bathroom, but instead burst in on Jason and Liz.

Sam told Lucky she's trying to use her talent for working men for something good: proving Jerry is part of the drug ring. She worried about her mother being involved with the former Mr. Craig. Sam promised that after this was over, they'd be together. Lucky slipped out to the balcony when Jerry arrived with flowers and wine. Sam confessed she started working with Karpov because she likes risk. Jerry grabbed Sam by the throat and questioned why she's being so friendly.

Nadine and Matt were trapped in the clinic fire, but luckily Nikolas entered the smoke-filled building and went directly to the locked room where they were trapped (with the flames licking at Matt's legs).

Tuesday

Sam convinced Jerry that she's tired of playing "reformed" and wants to go back to being the "real" Sam McCall, so he released her. She said "the straight life" is not all it's cracked up to be, so she's going back to being "good at being bad." Jerry said he settled in PC for his brother's sake, and also misses the thrill of being bad. They kissed, but Sam shut him down. She claimed she wanted to be sure he isn't trying to seduce her to get out of his relationship with Alexis. He warned he's not very patient, and left. Later, Lucky returned, just as Sam was about to plunge into the hot tub, and she assured him she did not sleep with Jerry. Then he joined her in the tub.

At the Crimson offices, Sonny asked Kate to marry him again, and she agreed. "I feel triumphant," Kate cheered. "We beat the odds," Sonny added. But Diane interrupted their bliss, reminding Kate that she "must run for the nearest exit" and not marry Sonny. Sonny challenged Diane to make her best argument right to his face. Diane quizzed Sonny about his relationship with Carly: He copped to marrying her four times and breaking up close to 10 times. Diane pointed out Sonny and Carly always end up together. Kate noted there were extenuating circumstances this time: Michael's shooting. Kate thanked Diane for being a friend, but she'd forgiven Sonny. Then Jax burst in and warned her that Sonny will never be faithful. Meanwhile, at the penthouse, Carly ran off after interrupting Jason and Elizabeth, but the moment was spoiled. Liz urged him to go fix Carly. Spinelli was aghast that he had accidentally let Carly interrupt Jason's alone time with Liz. After Liz left to go to work, Carly confessed that when Jax found out about her and Sonny he moved out and took everything. "I lost him," she sobbed. "I made lots of bad choices." She bemoaned not appreciating Jax while she had him. Back at the Crimson offices, Jax sarcastically declared Sonny "the winner," and told Kate the relationship would never last. Then he stormed out. Sonny and Kate kissed. Back at the penthouse, Carly declared, "I'm never going to love somebody like this again," and they embraced.

Nikolas summoned the fire department, then burst into the locked storeroom to rescue Nadine and Matt single-handed. Elizabeth arrived for duty at the hospital just before Matt and Nadine were brought in. Monica was back on duty, and told Nik that Nadine basically suffered from smoke inhalation, but Matt was not so lucky. When Nadine awoke, she was concerned about Matt. Nik said he would have been very upset if Nadine had died. Nadine started sobbing when she realized she could have died. "I'm actually glad that you're in my life," Nik said.

At the courthouse, Epiphany explained to the judge how Mrs. Albright was caught communicating with Anthony Zacchara, so the judge replaced her. When deliberations began again, Edward spoke thoughtfully about how the long-running mob threat has ruined the quality of life in Port Charles, and urged the jury to convict. Epiphany argued eloquently that Johnny's family members are mobsters, but he shouldn't be convicted for that — he was just protecting his sister. Later, the jury returned with its verdict: "not guilty." Scott freaked, while Johnny and Claudia celebrated. Outside the courtroom, Johnny thanked his father for having his back, and they shook hands. Claudia credited Ric with winning Johnny's release, while he credited her.

Wednesday

Carly tried to talk to Jax at Metro Court, but he insisted their marriage was over. She insisted they have to talk business, since they own two hotels. He wasn't sure they could, so he left. Meanwhile, Maxie told Spinelli that signing Carly up for online dating is a bad idea, because you cannot judge sexual chemistry from a profile. Jason told them signing up Carly was not a good idea, and warned them to consult her first. Maxie insisted on adding a profile for crabby Jason, too. Later, Spinelli and Maxie pitched Carly their idea. She initially balked — but agreed when she spotted Jax on a date with dolled-up Leyla. At another table, Max told Diane it would have been better if Kate didn't know, sparking a fight over what constitutes "cheating" that culminated in her breaking up with him. Later, an angry Diane was briefing Jason when Max burst in and accused her of being attracted to Sonny. She denied it, and ended up throwing Max out — leaving her to cry on Jason's shoulder.

Johnny visited an ecstatic Lulu at Shadybrook with a one-year anniversary gift: a lightning bolt necklace. She let slip how she talks to her mom, and it helps. Lainey sent Lulu to group then told Johnny he represents danger to Lulu and so he should not visit her anymore. At the Zacchara compound, Anthony told Claudia, Ric and Trevor, "It's time to shake this town up!" Anthony rewarded Claudia with (limited) participation in the family business — under Ric's supervision — while jealous Trevor fumed.

At GH, Patrick noted Matt will need skin grafts and lots of operations. He further noted that Matt is egocentric, competitive and has no people skills — in other words, he's Patrick before he met Robin. Ina another room, Nadine awoke to find Nikolas asleep in a chair, and thanked him for being a "full-service hero." "You're important to me," he said, taking her hand. Elizabeth blundered in, ruining the moment. Next came Jerry, who suggested the arsonist might have gotten caught in the fire himself. Patrick said Matt's employment records show no surviving next of kin. Out at the nurses' station, Anna arrived in time to welcome Noah back from Doctors Without Borders. They both looked forward to becoming grandparents, but he worried that Patrick will damage the baby's childhood. Later, Noah told Patrick he's proud that Patrick followed his heart with Robin. At the DA's office, Lucky and Alexis were wondering who torched the clinic when Sam arrived to ask her mother about her relationship with Jerry. Alexis put her off and invited Sam to dinner. Later, Alexis found Jerry in her office. Claiming he's trying to get on Nik's good side by tracking the drug counterfeiters, he inquired about the clinic fire. At that moment, Lucky brought in the police report about finding the remains of a firebomb. Back at GH, Nik told Liz he's looking for a sense of purpose, but she suggested he merely realized that he cares for Nadine and is stalling moving forward. Later, Nik suggested Nadine stay with him at Wyndemere while she recovers. Robin asked Anna to consult the HQ database to track Matt's family. Noah overheard Anna identify the patient as "Matthew Randall Hunter," and looked stricken. "Do you know him?" Anna asked.

After group therapy at Shadybrook, Lulu found a note from Johnny saying he didn't want to mess up her progress. She went across the hall to Laura's room and suddenly wondered if it was just too convenient that her mother woke up just when she was needed most. Just as Lulu wondered if she hallucinated everything a doctor came in, ready to consult on Laura's case.

Thursday

Jax took Leyla to dinner to thank her for helping with his injured hand. She told him she was born in Iran, raised in England, wants to go to medical school and loves open-sea kayaking. He invited her to Tahiti, but Leyla realized this was a rebound relationship, and walked. Meanwhile, Spinelli and Maxie explained to Carly who "carolineonthebeach" will be dating — but they proved to be a succession of cheaters, lonely guys — and Scott Baldwin?! Delete! Turned out she matched up in 24 of 25 categories with "DangerDude." She left the kids and went to tell Jason they are perfectly compatible.

Diane rambled to Jason about Max's endearing qualities (especially his abs), then broke down crying. Sonny interrupted, and when he mentioned the wedding Diane blew up at him, forcing Sonny to beat a strategic retreat. Later, Kate summoned Sonny to her place to deal with Max, who was rambling about Diane breaking up with him. He convinced himself Diane is involved with Jason, but resolved to reclaim the woman he loves. Sonny said he wanted to invite Jason to the wedding. When Kate said no one from her family will attend, Sonny pointed out that's not good. Later, Diane and Jason celebrated clearing a waterfront-development deal with the city council and Diane resolved to go shoe-shopping online, until she spotted a piece of jewelry Max had dropped. Then she collapsed in tears again.

Laura introduced Dr. McGuiness to Lulu. Lulu asked why she's the only one at Shadybrook who knows Laura woke up. He said the French clinic running the LS-49 trials is keeping it quiet because it's experimental, and there have been relapses. He said that during a period of lucidity, Laura signed documents authorizing Shadybrook to treat her and barring the clinic from notifying anyone (including legal guardian Nikolas) of her condition. The doc warned Laura might relapse or live a normal life. Laura said sticking around Shadybrook makes sense until she knows which. After he left, Lulu apologized for doubting her. She told him about Johnny splitting and how Lucky/Nik are fighting. Laura suggested Johnny might not be good for her. Later, Lulu found Laura once again in a deep sleep, from which she eventually woke up. She decided Lulu can tell Lucky and Nikolas she's awake.

Sam met with Lucky, and fretted over how to prove Jerry's involvement in the arson. Meanwhile, Jerry was having drinks with Alexis at Metro Court, and told her he suspects Sam is coming on to him. At GH, Noah refused to tell Anna where he knows Matt from. Then Matt awoke, and asked about Nadine. He told Anna his mother is dead and his father is out of the picture. Outside, Robin and Patrick went over the paperwork for the delivery and broached the subject of baby names. She proposed "Alissa Rose Scorpio," but he suggested "Alissa Rose Drake." Robin said the name is important to Mac and Robert, but Patrick said giving her his name will compensate for her physical closeness to the kid. Elsewhere, Nikolas carried Nadine to her new room at Wyndemere. Nadine wanted to clean, but Nik didn't know where a vacuum was. Nadine asked why he brought her home. He said he just senses "something good" is going on. Then they kissed. Later, Noah visited Matt to discuss his condition. A surly Matt spat, "It's a little late in the game to be showing concern, don't you think, Dad?" Noah said he reached an agreement with Matt's mother to pay child support and some of his education — on condition that he never make contact with Matt. Patrick arrived just in time to hear Noah shout, "You can be as angry as you want, but I'm still your father!"

Friday

Lucky hid at Sam's place while Alexis arrived to ask her daughter if she's hitting on Jerry. Sam would only admit to spending time with him. Later, Alexis confided to Diane that she once caught Sam and Ric having sex, and she fears Sam is now going after Jerry. Alexis wants to believe Jerry has a good side. Diane pointed out that all men lie and cheat with younger, hotter women. Sam called Ric "the worst mistake I ever made." Lucky urged her to come clean to her mother, but Sam wouldn't back down. She summoned Jerry and scolded him for trying to make her look like a slut. She declared she would not sleep with him as long as he's with Alexis. Jerry said that's a tough choice. "Do you promise to make it worth my while?" she sneered. Carly told Jason they match almost perfectly: except both are stubborn. "I know I'm right, your think you are," she noted, then sauntered out. Back at Metro Court she ran into Max, who pointed out that Diane broke up with him, so, "Would you go out with me, Mrs. C?" Later, Max and Carly had dinner at Metro Court, but Max talked about Diane. He insisted he never cheated on her. Carly insisted he stop calling her "Mrs. C," and advised him to "Follow your heart." Diane told Alexis she broke up with Max, but later she heard music coming from outside. She saw Max getting his John Cusack on, holding a boom box over his head. The song asked, "Why can't we start again?" Diane didn't Say Anything, she just sobbed happily.

Patrick asked Noah: "Matt Hunter is your son?" Matt admitted he knew all his life. Noah said Patrick's mom didn't know, and he had a deal with Matt's mom, Donna. "You son of a bitch," Patrick cursed. When Anna arrived, Noah told her Matt is his son. An angry Patrick stalked around, then told Robin, "I just found out I have a brother." Robin consulted Anna, who called Noah a good man. "I'm not proud of what I did," Noah wailed. Patrick cut him off and walked out. When Robin and Anna visited Matt he said he didn't come to Port Charles to connect with his family; he wants nothing to do with them.

Laura told Lulu she could tell her brothers she's awake. "It is time for us all to be together again," Laura said. Lulu brought the skeptical boys, but when they entered Laura's room she didn't wake up.

Sonny balked at helping Kate with the seating chart, because he wanted to go ask Jason to come to the wedding. Kate said it's hard to leave the past behind, and shared a memory of her last, contentious Thanksgiving at home. Then she recalled her first Thanksgiving as Kate, eating a turkey sandwich alone. He advised her not to seat Alexis and Ric at the same table, or "it will get ugly." Sonny left, but he didn't go to Jason's — he went all the way to a bar in Bensonhurst (one that looked suspiciously like Jake's) for a scotch. There, he ran into old chum Paulie, who used to work with Joe Scully. He's married with kids now. Sonny said the right woman at the right time changes your life. Back home, Kate found an old diary and read an entry about Olivia. Mike arrived, and told Kate he thinks Jason should be best man. Meanwhile, Jason scolded Spinelli for filling out a dating profile for him; Spinelli said he was just trying to convince him that Liz is the one for him. Jason said, "I know we should be together, but we can't be. I love Elizabeth." The Jackal noted Jason's attitude gives Liz false hope. Kate walked in and asked Jason to come to the wedding. "I can't," he said. Back in the old neighborhood, Sonny and Paulie cursed the people tearing down Yankee Stadium (Hear, hear!), then Paulie's wife dragged him off to their son's game. After they left, a sexy woman slinked up to Sonny. "Are you looking for someone?" she purred. "Maybe it's me." Then GH cut to a herpes commercial. Honest.
