GH Week of November 24, 2008

Monday

Jax refused to sell Spoon Island to Nikolas; in fact, he intends to buy Wyndemere and open "Spoon Island Spa." Nikolas vowed to force Jax out of Metro Court. Carly tried to mediate, but Jax refused and left. Nikolas vowed to bring down Jax. At Jake's, Johnny nixed Lulu's suggestion to leave the Zacchara family, even though Coleman offered him a gig as a piano player.

Claudia was reluctant to accept Sonny's proposal — until she spotted Olivia lurking outside. Sonny brought her inside, and Claudia broke the news. "You're lying down with dogs here," Olivia sniffed, then left. Claudia asked Sonny, "Which cousin are you really in love with?" At Kate's, Maxie was getting scolded for overruling Clarice and giving Crimson a youthful slant. Maxie argued she did a great job just getting the magazine out the door. Olivia arrived and told Kate that Sonny is marrying Claudia. After a disgusted Olivia left, Kate resumed scolding Maxie, who criticized Clarice. Then Jax arrived to praise Maxie for putting out the best-selling Crimson yet. After Maxie left, Kate proposed a toast to "not making the worst mistake of my life." They toasted — then kissed.

Back at Sonny's, he warned Claudia to treat Kate and Olivia with respect — or avoid them altogether. Claudia condemned Kate as a faker, then asked Sonny not to make cracks about Johnny or Anthony. Claudia said, "I'm never gonna be a madonna, but I don't want to be treated like a whore." Then she opened the ring box to see a huge rock, which impressed her. Sonny reminded her that he will call all the shots. And he felt bad about punishing Johnny for Michael's shooting. Claudia said the Zaccharas would never be involved in hurting a child, and Sonny said he holds no grudges against her or Johnny. Meanwhile, Carly found Olivia at Jake's and got the news that Sonny is marrying Claudia. Carly admitted she cannot explain her connection to Sonny; she'll always be there for him, even though he ruins all her relationships. Olivia asked her whom she would choose, if she had to. "Jax," Carly said. Olivia said it will work out. Carly asked Olivia how much Sonny mattered her back in the day. "More than I let anybody know," Liv confessed. "And now?" Carly asked.

In the PCPD interrogation room, Mac blamed Jason for Port Charles being under siege. "You're gonna pay for it this time," Mac promised. "I'm gonna shut you down." Later, Diane lectured Jason about wearing the same clothes he wore to hypothetically blow up the warehouse. Jason demanded she get him released because the police had no evidence against him. At the cabin, Sam and Elizabeth prepared to defend the boys from the Russian gangsters by getting the children to play fort, and blocking the window with a mattress. Luckily, Sam brought a gun. And she found a shotgun over the mantel and gave it to Liz. Elizabeth noted Jason taught her to use a handgun, so they swapped. Liz asked Sam to protect her boys, no matter what. Sam agreed. Liz realized this drama was all because she refused to walk away from Jason. Back at PCPD, Mac warned Alexis they have to nip the mob war in the bud. Alexis warned Diane to recuse herself, because Jason has gone too far. Alexis cited Jason's clothes as evidence of a pattern of behavior and vowed to hold him until she could come up with evidence. "It's time for you to pay," she sneered.

Elsewhere, Sonny and Claudia toasted their impending marriage. "I wanna get married soon," he said: "Tonight." Back at the cabin, Sam assured Liz she will kill to protect her kids. Then gunfire shattered a window!

Tuesday

Carly pressed Olivia for information at Jake's. Coleman interrupted to introduce himself to Olivia. Olivia and Carly chatted about Sonny's decisions and wondered which was a worse idea: Sonny marrying Claudia or Sonny marrying Kate. The two decided someone should talk Sonny out of marrying Claudia, so they tossed a coin to decide who would do it.

Sonny and a skeptical Claudia argued about wedding plans. Sonny explained that he needed the Zaccharas to destroy the Karpov family and promised to turn the Zacchara name into one that was respected. For the sake of helping her brother, Claudia left to change into something "a little more bridal." Claudia told Anthony she was marrying Sonny. Johnny arrived just in time for Anthony to gloat. Johnny threatened to walk away from his family for good, because he couldn't believe Claudia would throw her life away. Johnny told Claudia he would walk out on her and reminded her that Sonny would kill her if he discovered her part in Michael's shooting. Before leaving, Johnny pointed out that Claudia was wearing black on her wedding night. Elsewhere, Carly warned Sonny that he was putting his life in danger. Sonny asked Carly to carry a gun to protect herself. Then he casually mentioned that he saw Jax with Kate....

Alexis and Diane clashed at the PCPD while Alexis questioned Jason. Diane threw Alexis' poor judgement over Jerry in her face. The two were arguing about Jason when Spinelli arrived. Alone, Jason told Spinelli not to get involved just because he felt guilty about getting in over his head with the Russians. Spinelli told Stone Cold he knew his place, and assured Jason he was about to be let free. Diane and Alexis returned with news that Jason was free to go because Interpol had seized all evidence against him. Off the clock, Diane tried to make amends with an angry Alexis.

Sam and Elizabeth tried to escape the gunfire at the cabin. Sam saved Elizabeth when she tried to get to the kids. One thug broke open the door, only to be shot by Sam. When they had a moment of quiet, Elizabeth asked Sam why using a gun came so easily to her. Sam recounted using one to defend herself when she was a child. Sam swore she would give her life to protect the kids. Sam gave Elizabeth a gun and told her to go look after the boys, but then a thug grabbed Sam. As they struggled, Elizabeth shot him!

Kate and Jax drank champagne and flirted at her place. Jax asked Kate if she was interested in him because of his charm or because of Carly. They were interrupted by Sonny, who demanded to speak to Kate in private. When she refused, Sonny softly told Kate he was marrying Claudia. He professed his love for Kate, but she refused to hear it. Sonny urged Kate not to do anything stupid, to which she replied, "I've already done that." Sonny left. Jax talked Kate out of taking action, reminding her that Sonny would simply return to Carly in the end. The two began to kiss. Before long they were pulling each other's clothes off. Carly suddenly appeared, then tearfully pulled out the gun Sonny had given her...

Ric arrived at the mansion and kissed Claudia. Then Trevor and the justice of the peace came in, followed by Sonny, Max and Milo. The ceremony began, and Claudia said "I do," then waited for Sonny to do the same...

Jason arrived at the cabin, just in time for Sam to jump in the car and report that Jake had been kidnapped!

Wednesday

Patrick came home to Robin, and they shared their frustrations about their tough days. When she talked about having a big Scorpio clan Thanksgiving, he mentioned how he used to go on bachelor vacations at Thanksgiving. She mused about how one decision can change your whole life. Patrick noted that's called "the Butterfly Effect," as Robin drifted off to sleep...

Suddenly, Robin was at the nurses' station, returning from Paris with gifts for Epiphany, Kelly and Lainey. The gals bubbled about the new "dog" doctor, Patrick Drake. In the locker room, Robin stumbled upon Patrick and Leyla making out in the shower. "You must be Dr. Drake," Robin sniffed. Later, she and Patrick argued about how to treat a woman with seizures, but it segued into quippy sex talk. Patrick then went to Jake's and met Coleman — as in, "Just 'Coleman.' Sort of like 'Elvis,' or 'Cher.'" Patrick asked about Robin, and Coleman called her "the queen of tequila shooters." Back at the nurses' station, Matt arrived to apply for a job and met Leyla. Later, when Robin, Lainey and Kelly got to Jake's, Coleman swooped in and revealed that Patrick was talking about Robin. When Carly walked in, Patrick strutted right past Robin to flirt with Carly at the pool table.

Back at GH, Robin complained about Patrick to Alan (who apparently didn't die if there was a Metro Court hostage situation!), who introduced the newest neurosurgeon Matt Hunter. Patrick was aghast, but Robin cozied up to him. Flashforward to Jake's, where Patrick complained to Carly that Matt turned out to be his brother! Back at GH, Matt asked Robin to dinner, while Patrick hit on Elizabeth. Later, Matt ran into Maxie (who thought she knew him from school somewhere). Patrick went to Jake's, where Liz, Lainey and Kelly were having a girls' night out. Patrick complained that Coleman didn't warn him about how mercurial Carly can be. Nevertheless, he started hitting on "nice girl" Elizabeth, who wasn't interested — until he played the "nice girl" card. She agreed to dance with him just as Matt brought Robin in. When Patrick and Liz left, Robin and Matt replaced them on the dance floor.

In the GH locker room, Robin begrudgingly acknowledged Patrick's skill as a surgeon — and his smarminess as a man. When Liz strolled in, Robin questioned why she's interested in him. Liz called Patrick a sweet, unhappy, lonely boy. After she left, Patrick teased Robin about being repressed. Matt arrived, and escorted Robin out. Back at her place, they talked about her HIV status. She was impressed that he knew about her status before asking her out. Patrick brought Liz home, where they chatted about her kids. He declared himself too selfish for children. The next day, Patrick bemoaned losing a patient after not following Robin's suggestions. While she noted that simply proved he's not perfect, Patrick could not accept that. She went home to tell Matt how vulnerable Patrick was, and that they should reach out to him. Patrick, meanwhile, told Liz he's been too hard on Robin. The next day, Patrick and Robin were civil — even collegial — toward each other. Later, Robin walked in on Matt making out with Maxie. Elsewhere, Elizabeth told Patrick that she loves having fun, but needs a man who wants to be a father right now. She broke up with him because she didn't want to wait for him to grow up. "There's someone out there for you," she assured. Later, at Jake's, Patrick and Robin commiserated over losing their partners. Then he asked her to dance...

Robin awoke to the sound of Emma crying in Patrick's arms, and said, "I know that we would have found each other somehow." Beaming at his new family, Patrick declared, "This is what I always wanted. I just didn't know it." Then he asked her to marry him again, and they set a date for the week after Christmas.
