Mike accidentally burst in on Nikolas and Rebecca, who'd gotten hot and heavy while painting Rebecca's room. Mike was less concerned about the paint fumes than he was about Nikolas and Rebecca being together. It's none of his business, spat Nik. She appreciated Mike's concern, interjected Rebecca, but she was walking into the relationship with her eyes wide open. Nikolas got a call from Alexis, saying he had to get to G.H. right away. At the hospital, Epiphany was giving Alexis a hard time about using her influence to get Rebecca's confidential medical records when Nikolas showed up. Alexis warned Nik to walk away from Rebecca before "something terrible happens." Later, Alexis stopped by Rebecca's place and offered to pay Rebecca to leave Port Charles. Helena recruited her in Greece, accused Alexis — how could a girl of modest means turn Helena down? Nik caught Alexis mid-accusation. Rebecca isn't working with Helena, insisted Nikolas, and if she was ... he wouldn't care!

Luke wanted Lulu to pretend she had the hots for Ethan, to give Tracy a dose of her own medicine. Tracy interrupted the confab, but got a phone call summoning her for an ELQ emergency (manufactured by Lulu). Lulu was pleased to be involved in a caper with her dad; Luke was proud of his daughter's sneakiness.

At the hospital, a tense Sonny, Carly, Jax and Claudia waited as Patrick operated on Michael. "Waiting is like my worst event," whined Claudia, who was ushered out by Sonny. It's a tough room, she should go home, Sonny told his wife. She was coming back as soon as her doctor's appointment was over, insisted Claudia. She then ran into Johnny, who also thought she should beat it. She was proving to Sonny that she was his partner, explained a deluded Claudia. Michael would wake up, and then Sonny wouldn't want her dead! Johnny thought his sister was nuts.

Thanks for scaring Claudia off with his spooky stare, Carly joked to Jason — she didn't want "that vulture" hanging around while her son was having brain surgery. Jax tried giving his wife a massage to calm her. "No offense but it's not working," smiled Carly. When Jax left the room (to meet with Olivia about telling Sonny that Claudia was involved in Michael's shooting), Carly thanked Jason for being honest with her, and for putting Michael first. Everything's going to be okay, a teary Carly vowed, and asked Jason how he managed to stay so calm. Jason was showing her a meditation technique when Sonny returned, amused by the breathing exercise. He could use it married to "that one," snapped Carly. Claudia returned and Jax demanded that she leave. Until her husband tells her to leave she's staying, barked Claudia. For Jax to talk like that to Claudia he must have found proof, began Sonny... just as Carly walked back in.

At the magazine offices, Spinelli told Maxie they needed bait to ferret out the design thief. To prove she had faith in him, Maxie handed over a layout she'd suggested to Kate. If it leaked, she and Lulu would get fired, worried Maxie. Spinelli raved about the design, then put a tracking device in the layout's pages. Kate arrived, followed shortly after by Johnny. Kate informed Maxie and Johnny they were going out that night, which threw cold water on the warm moment Maxie and Spinelli had been sharing. She had to stay at the office and trace the Crimson leak, argued Maxie. He wasn't doing it, added Johnny, who left. If Maxie didn't find the thief, she and Lulu were out of a job, said a steamed Kate. While they waited in the car for the tracking device plan to work, Spinelli planted a kiss on Maxie, who returned the favor. "Maximista," whispered Spinelli to a delighted Maxie.
