GH Week of March 3, 2008
Monday
As the car hung precariously over the edge of Hangman's Bridge, Elizabeth uncuffed herself and mysteriously tried to exit through the front door, but Sam awakening in the trunk attracted Liz's attention, giving Diego a chance to grab Liz. Lucky happened upon the accident, so Diego shot him (through the driver's side window). Jason arrived and pulled Lucky to safety as Liz distracted Diego. When Jason advanced to the car, Diego hopped out and they wrestled against the car, shifting it dangerously. While Diego fled, Jason jumped on the car to stabilize it. As it rocked he kicked out the back window and got Liz out. She checked on Lucky. Sam crawled out of the trunk though the back seat but froze in fear.
Robin admitted to Patrick that he is the father of her baby. She explained she was committed to using a sperm bank, but in her grief following Georgie's funeral she needed to be with someone. She knew the condom broke, but overheard him saying he tested negative, so she figured there was no point in telling him. After all, he doesn't want children, but might feel obligated. Patrick was furious that she was telling him how he feels. "What do you want?" she asked. "You have to let me be a part of this," he sobbed. No, she's going to say the daddy was "a sperm donor." She told him to go to some bar and pick up a hot chick, so he stalked off with tears in his eyes, leaving her sobbing.
After Trevor was roughed up by a goon, Sonny gave him a message for Anthony Zacchara: "He'll get his son back when I get mine back." Trevor warned him he's making a mistake by making this personal. Sonny freed him. Meanwhile, at GH, Kate was shocked to learn that Sonny had climbed into bed with Claudia, who said she's trying to open Kate's eyes to Sonny's true nature. Kate assured Claudia that Sonny was just using her. When Claudia left, Sonny arrived with a gift: a garish bonnet just like one her cousin gave her back in the day. He revealed that when he saw her in that hat, he thought, "This is what it feels like to be in love." Stunned, she pictured Sonny having sex with Claudia even as he insisted, "I want to make you smile." When he said, "Nothing is gonna come between us," she pretended to pass out, and he left. For her part, Claudia met with Trevor at Jake's, and told him she has a plan regarding Sonny's kid being missing. Claudia warned that if Sonny hurts Johnny she'll get revenge. Trevor said Sonny blames them for Kate's shooting, and all this worry is making Sonny reckless. He wants to find Michael and use him against Sonny. Trevor left, passing Patrick on the way in. Naturally, he locked eyes with Claudia. (Meanwhile, Robin was seen having an ultrasound.) Claudia sauntered out, drawing an admiring gaze from Patrick.
Somewhere in the sewers, Maxie and Spinelli argued about being trapped as he tried to find a way to open the gates. Then his Text Message Killer analysis program pointed to evidence of Alcazar accounts being used — but only Lorenzo and Diego had access to them, and they're both dead. Right?
Back on the bridge, Jason was thrown from the car as it tumbled over the edge. Liz rushed to the unconscious Jason while Lucky dragged himself to the precipice, shouting, "Sam!"
Tuesday
Robin and Patrick welcomed Epiphany back on the job, and she was breathing fire as usual. Epiphany demanded to know what their problem was, but Robin said she had no problem — she's having a baby, and it will be fine. Patrick admitted he was initially relieved when he didn't think he was the father. She wanted no part of his grief and confusion. Meanwhile, Dr. Devlin kissed Leyla at the nurses' station, and she vowed to report him for sexual harassment if he ever tried that again.
Sonny visited Carly to tell her he had no news about Michael. She told him she's pregnant. He insisted the Zaccharas are behind Michael's disappearance, but Jax was skeptical, and they got into it. Sonny assured Carly he has everyone looking for their son. Meanwhile, Michael was hauling firewood for Peg, who urged him to call home. He copped to shooting Kate, but wasn't sure if she was dead. He recounted his father's warning to run. Peg said running away may cause even more trouble.
In the sewers, Maxie dropped her cell phone into the muck just before it started ringing — and she refused to answer it. Spinelli had another '40s fantasy about Maxie. She asked why he never noticed her sister. He said there was nothing wrong with her...he was just never in a position to give his heart, body and soul to someone. This seemed to touch Maxie. Later, she tried to wiggle through the bars of the gate, but got stuck. Suddenly, Spinelli's override program began working, and the gate began to open.
Nikolas and Nadine went to the warehouse where Sam shot Diego. Nadine urged Nik to move on — Emily is dead and gone. He pointed out she has a fixation on personal loss (and that locket). After bickering over whether Nik should kill as revenge, they split up. Diego sprang out of the shadows and grabbed her. Meanwhile, on Hangman's Bridge, Lucky discovered Sam was clinging desperately to a ledge. He grabbed her and pulled her up, one-handed. "You saved my life," she sighed. "Yes, I did," he replied. Later, Sam told Mac that Diego wanted revenge on everyone involved in killing his father. Mac blamed Jason for triggering the madness by killing Lorenzo Alcazar. Elizabeth pointed out that Jason saved their lives. Sam recalled Diego blaming Maxie for sending him to prison and wanted to kill her, but Georgie accidentally intercepted the text and went to the park. Similarly, Leticia got a text meant for Carly. Liz insisted she was just in the wrong place (Sam's apartment) at the wrong time (when Diego was there). Mac decided it was obvious Diego is the Text Message Killer. An EMT told Liz that Jason's hands are cut up pretty bad. In fact, later at GH, Patrick told Jason his hands are so badly damaged that without immediate action he may never be able to even hold a spoon, let alone a gun. Back on the waterfront, Nik stumbled around a boat, moaning and having problems. He heard Nadine's screams, but was frozen by flashbacks of Emily's death. When he returned to where he left her she was gone — only a bottle of chloroform remained.
Jerry visited Alexis in the DA's office, where they reminisced about their kiss, then he asked her for legal help. She referred him to Diane, but Jerry balked, because his true aim was to spend time with her. She insisted she is not interested in yet another dangerous man.
Diego returned to his base and used his laptop to check on a series of bombs he had planted through the waterfront. Suddenly, Nikolas jumped Diego and they struggled.
Wednesday
Lulu was looking for Lucky at home when Scott appeared and warned her away from Logan. Luke popped up on the couch and warned Scott away from Lulu. Scott wondered if Lulu was covering for Johnny? Johnny was at that moment writing a song on the walls of his cell. Sonny arrived and started beating on Johnny to get out frustrations about Michael. Back at the Spencer home, Scott suggested Logan might have gotten out of hand again. Luke was shocked to hear Logan had manhandled Lulu. After Alice compelled Scott to leave, Luke asked Lulu if she's keeping secrets about her mother. Lulu said Scott is drawing parallels between what she did to Logan and what Laura did to Rick Weber. "Secrets always come out," Luke cautioned her. Lulu asked about her mother's record collection. In his cell, Johnny flashed back to playing "Claire du Lune" for Lulu.
With Maxie wedged in the gate, Spinelli ripped out a bar with his bare hands, giving her room to escape. Then they climbed out of the sewers. Spinelli and Maxie emerged on the docks and found Nadine's scattered bag, including her knitting. Jackal sniffed the chloroform rag and got loopy as he followed Maxie, who wanted to investigate. Meanwhile, at GH, Patrick told Jason the glass was removed from his hand, but he needs surgery and may never work for Sonny again. Elizabeth visited Jason, upset that he may have ruined his own life to save hers. He urged her not to feel guilty. She wanted to know how he knew to look for her on the bridge — a question shared by the newly-arrived Det. Rodriguez. He wondered: If Diego wanted Liz to end up like his father, did Jason drive to the bridge because he knew that's where he dumped Lorenzo's body? Jason suggested searching the warehouse where Sam shot Diego. At that warehouse, Nikolas tried to choke the life out of Diego, who turned the tables and choked out Nik, leaving him lifeless. Fleeing, Diego ran into Maxie on a catwalk and tried to strangle her with a cable. A vision of Emily revived Nik, who confronted Diego. Nik saw Maxie as a vision of Emily and attacked Diego just as Maxie stuck Diego with Nadine's knitting needle. Nik wrestled with Diego until a cable got wrapped around Diego's neck; he fell off the catwalk, and was hanged. Just then, Rodriguez, Mac and the police arrived. Then Nik muttered, "Nadine," and collapsed.
Alexis told Jerry that his brother Jax is her best friend in the world. He noted she had kids with Sonny and Ric. After much cajoling, she agreed to look into the accounts he requested. Later, Diane arrived with beer to take Alexis to dinner. Alexis explained about the war for the waterfront property, and Diane was disgusted to think Kate could be collateral damage. Alexis vowed to find the maniac who chased Sam in front of the car. At GH, Dr. Devlin teased Sam about ruining his previous cosmetic surgery on her and offered to fix her up again. As they flirted, Devlin indicated he has two sides: clinical and serious, and fast and furious. At Ric's place, Marianna celebrated Ric saving her from deportation. Ric promised that no one would hurt her ever again. At that moment, Randy was seen on the street, eyeing a photo of himself with Marianna. After making love, Ric suggested taking Marianna to see the waterfront property that his father wants so bad. On the street, Randy got Ric's address out of a phone book and bypassed a couple of ladies of the evening. Devlin approached the girls and booked a "date" with one hooker who vaguely resembled Sam.
The episode ended with Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) hosting a behind-the-scenes peek at how computer animation was used to enhance the story.
Thursday
Carly found Elizabeth in Jason's room. He was still in surgery, and Carly blamed Liz for his injuries. She charged that Liz would be happy if Jason couldn't work for Sonny anymore. Later, Patrick told Liz the surgery repaired "90 percent" of the damage to Jason's hands. She told the unconscious Jason, "There's nothing I wouldn't do for you." Later, she brought Jake for a visit, and when she left, Patrick spotted her, and was curious.
Mike showed a woozy Spinelli the newspaper crediting him with helping capture the Text Message Killer. Cassius reminded him he still has to look into Stan's death. Spinelli agreed, but had to do something first: place a candle on Georgie's grave to mark her birthday. Maxie spotted him, but said her sister would want him there because she loved him. They admitted how much the missed her and embraced.
Nikolas brought Robin to the warehouse to search for Nadine. When Robin realized he was seeing Emily on the stairs he lashed out and chased Robin away. Emily wondered why she's still appearing; he suggested it's related to Nadine. He spotted Nadine's locket, then got on the elevator — not realizing Nadine was imprisoned at the bottom of the shaft. (Way to search the building, PCPD!) Emily disappeared, and Nik remembered Nadine talking about dropping her morality down some elevator shaft. When he yelled down into the shaft Nadine thought to remove her gag and called for help. Later, after Nadine was rescued, Emily insisted that Nik have the surgery so he can survive for Spencer and his family. "Do it for me," she said.
Claudia arrived at Sonny's cafe to insist the Zaccharas don't have Michael, but she does want Johnny released. Claudia said she wants to help find Michael because she wants Sonny to be in her debt. "I'm not your enemy," she offered. Sonny wasn't interested in trading sex for peace. Claudia warned him that if he hurts Johnny, she will leave nothing standing in her quest for revenge.
Ric took Marianna to visit the Alcazar's waterfront property, which he said runs "for miles." She said she felt like something bad is going to happen. (Could that be because there was an unseen bomb strapped to a column just above their heads?) Ric dreamed of making over the waterfront to be more like Seattle, but Trevor interrupted and said Ric didn't have the gumption to develop the wharves. When Trevor insulted Marianna, Ric attacked him. Their struggle triggered a different bomb to start a 30-minute countdown. The scuffle ended with Trevor warning Ric not to give the property to Sonny. Elsewhere, Jerry visited the Tattooed Man (whose identity is fairly obvious), who told Jerry he has product piling up while Jerry is screwing up his mission to get the Alcazar property. Tattooed Man told Jerry his sister-in-law is pregnant. Then he ordered "Mr. Moreau" to find a business partner.
Diane visited Kate and gifted her with the last issue of Couture done without her input. Kate started sobbing about Sonny, but Jax arrived and so Diane left. Carly eavesdropped as Kate told Jax that Sonny cheated on her. Kelly took Carly away before Kate could hint as to with whom. Jax brought her a gift: Belgian chocolates. Sonny walked in as Jax gave her a hug goodbye. Jax left in disgust.
Friday
At GH, Patrick asked Elizabeth if Lucky would be happy that she brought Jake to see Jason — Lucky should have a say in his son's life. He apologized for sniping, then recapped forcing Robin to confess he's the father of her child. He admitted he loves Robin, and maybe he will love the baby. Liz hugged him just as Robin walked in. She pretended not to be jealous, and he revealed he told Liz the secret. Outside GH, Sam took a stroll and collapsed — right into Lucky's arms. He reported finding bombs Diego planted under PCPD. She thanked him for doing his job and saving her life. He said it wasn't just his job. She wondered if he can trust what she says, then suggested they need to see other people. Dr. Devlin interrupted and escorted her back inside.
On Spoon Island, Alexis told Nikolas that Kristina is having trouble shaking Diego, so she worried about Spencer. Emily appeared as Alexis told Nik he won't face charges in Diego's latest death. "Diego killed my reason for living," he said, adding, "I'm not having the operation." She urged him to have the tumor removed for Spencer's sake, and the rest of his loved ones. "I should be able to die any way I want to," he countered, revealing he has a living will that will allow him to kill himself. Emily vowed to stop him. He forced Alexis to leave, then confronted Emily, who told him dying may not lead to them being reunited. She said his dreams will become nightmares. He sees her because he's a romantic and needs her practical view of the world. She sees his tumor getting worse, and he will eventually go mad before dying. As she ran out of the room, he wailed and collapsed in pain.
At Kelly's, Maxie joined Cassius and Spinelli as he opened the box found in Stan's room. It held a book, The Island of Dr. Moreau, which Spinelli regarded as a clue to the killer's identity. Meanwhile, Jerry reported to the Tattooed Man, who revealed he not only has a job but while working that job has seen Jerry, but Jerry didn't know it. Jax interrupted the call to take his brother to Kelly's, where he wondered why Jerry changed his mind. Ric and Marianna came in for a bite, and she chirped about being free of Randy. Randy, however, stood right outside.
When Jax arrived at GH Carly sobbed about Michael and Jason. Jerry called Jax and asked to be business partners. Elsewhere, Kate asked if anything happened in the last few days she should know about. He revealed that Michael is missing, and he blames the same people who shot her. Sonny explained that Michael was trying to imitate Sonny and protect his mother with a gun. Sonny vowed to "end this game with the Zaccharas once and for all." She scolded him for always lashing out blindly at those who hurt him: "Look what you did after I rejected your proposal," she said, as he looked stunned. Meanwhile, all the way over in Crimson Point, Claudia visited Anthony (who called her a "slut") and asked for help getting to Sonny. He gave her some names and numbers. She was surprised that he wanted to protect her, and lamented not sticking around to help raise Johnny. Anthony asked to see Johnny, and she promised to bring him for a visit.
Johnny, meanwhile, was in his padded cell, telling Milo about Mozart. As Johnny struggled to write music, Lulu left him a voicemail saying she misses him. Then she went to Logan's bedside to ask, "How will I ever make this up to you?"
