Elizabeth entered Jason's hospital room to find Lucky there and explained that Jason had gone to Seattle to see a specialist. Lucky said he was there to ask some questions about Sam's accident and confessed that he'd overheard Liz say she was too tired to drive that night. He said he even heard her talk about the blood on her car. She admitted that she'd wanted to say something since it happened, but that Jason wanted to look into what other drivers could have been responsible. Lucky revealed that Monica's car was also stolen that night and they were looking into other leads. Elizabeth finally admitted that she had gone to meet Jason at their secret spot and had been meeting him there for weeks because he's the only person who "calms her anxieties." Afraid that Sam would reveal who Jake's father really is and destroy her family, Liz was reluctant to come forward. She asked if any paperwork had been filed on the case and if it was possible for it to be on the books as unsolved rather than document Liz as a suspect. "It would be better for everyone if I just closed this case right now," Lucky assured Liz, while Sam was eavesdropping outside.

In another part of the hospital, Alexis accompanied Sam on a little walk and they ran into Wes, her EVERDAY HEROES producer. Alexis left the two of them to talk, and Wes informed Sam that they were ready to resume taping next week — in Hawaii. Sam proposed a hospital-based show until she recovers, but Wes wasn't thrilled with her zany idea. "You're not doing the show," he abruptly announced. "You're suspended." He explained that it was just for 13 weeks and she'd have a temporary replacement, a 6-foot-1 triathlete named Tiffany. Alexis returned with coffee and advised Wes that he can't replace Sam and should have his lawyers call her. After Wes was gone, Sam admitted to her mom that she feels like she's lost everything — her daughter, her boyfriend, her job, etc. Alexis was confident that Sam would get through this and said what doesn't kill her makes her stronger.

Luke advised a remorseful Lulu that guilt can ruin your life and mentioned his regrets about bringing Rick Webber back into their lives just as Scott walked in. Once alone with Scott, Lulu explained how important Logan is to her and suddenly felt Logan's finger move. They called in the doctor, but he didn't have much more to say than sure, Logan's finger moved. Lulu was confident that Logan was responding to her and would wake up soon. Lulu promised Scott that she wasn't going to tell her dad that Scott killed Rick because it wasn't her fight to fight.

Michael made Carly promise not to bring Sonny, just as a bomb timer in the abandoned cannery continued to tick. Carly went to the cannery alone and was flooded with emotion as Michael ran into her arms. Michael tearfully confessed that he accidentally shot Kate and feared that she was dead. He explained that he was just trying to put the gun in the Dumpster and was sure she was dead when he went to check on her. Carly was shocked and disappointed to hear all this. Michael explained that he bought the gun on the docks and that Mike caught him with the bullets. Carly was furious to hear that Mike knew, and even more hurt to discover that Sonny did, too.

Claudia paid Ric a visit and introduced herself as Anthony Zacchara's daughter, declaring this his lucky night. She suggested that Trevor was on his way out of the Zacchara organization and that she was there to offer Ric a major opportunity. She soon made it clear that it was the buildings at the waterfront that she was after and suggested they join forces. He didn't take the bait but she warned him that he'd reconsider. Later, a desperate-sounding Marianna called Ric and said she needed his help.

Sonny apologized for hurting Kate, who advised Sonny that Claudia is still in town and still wearing "those dreadful heels." Sonny argued that it was just a one-night stand and she has nothing to worry about, but Kate was concerned with how dangerous Claudia is. She said it was one thing if Claudia was just some random woman from a bar, but that Claudia was an entirely different kind of woman. Kate continued to dwell on why he'd sleep with Claudia so he turned the tables on her and brought up her affair with Trevor. He admitted that he'd done some things in the past that he wasn't proud of, but that he is faithful. She agreed to trust him on that and give things another chance. Sonny expressed his feeling that he's going to see Michael again soon and that Michael may have run away after witnessing a fight between him and Carly. Kate clearly had no idea that Michael was her shooter. Sonny received a call from Claudia, who announced that she had an offer he won't want to turn down. She proposed that he give the Zaccharas the Saint Lawrence shipping lines in exchange for Johnny.

Sonny brought Johnny to the pier to meet Claudia, who was in the line of sight of a sharpshooter standing next to Trevor. Johnny told Claudia that Sonny knows they don't have Michael and is just using him as leverage. Tick tock went the bomb. Ric rushed to Marianna's side and found her with a dead Randy. The bomb's timer continued to beep. Carly told Michael that he would never be a part of Sonny's violent world and began to lead him out of the cannery. Beep beep, went the bomb. Claudia made a call to prove that they don't have Michael, and the shooter fired, just as an explosion rocked the waterfront.
