GH Week of July 14, 2008
Monday
Anthony questioned Maxie about what happened the night Johnny "killed" Logan
in self-defense. She explained that Claudia showed up shortly after they
came across Johnny with a dead Logan in his apartment and told them to get
lost, so they listened. Anthony found it a little strange that neither Lulu
nor Maxie called the cops and wondered if Maxie's conscience was tempting
her to tell the truth. "My conscience doesn't tell me anything," she
admitted. Anthony threatened to kill Lulu and Maxie if they blab a word to
harm Johnny. Maxie was sufficiently spooked.
Meanwhile, Claudia held Jason at gunpoint upon finding him searching her
car. After she put her gun back in the car, Lucky and Detective Harper came
around the corner and told them to put their hands in the air. Claudia and
Jason were hauled downtown as suspects in the Logan Hayes murder.
Mike came by the penthouse with a grilled cheese sandwich for Spinelli and
asked if they could discuss the situation between Jason and Sonny. Mike just
didn't feel that Sonny can give up the business and be transformed enough to
have a solid marriage to Kate. Spinelli wondered if Mike had seen the gossip
rags and revealed that Kate was photographed in a compromising position with
Jax.
After a meeting with Spinelli that made Johnny and Lulu worry that Spinelli
would uncover something incriminating on the surveillance footage, Lulu
wanted to confess. Johnny urged her to stay quiet. Anthony and Trevor
arrived to give Johnny a pep talk on dealing with the press through this
whole matter, while Lulu managed to maintain the same sourpuss face for the
duration of the encounter. "If you don't make this go away, Lulu pays the
price," Anthony advised before heading out. After Trevor and Anthony managed
to scare Lulu, she begged Johnny to run away with her.
Maxie showed up at the penthouse in a frenzy and demanded that Spinelli get
rid of the security footage. "I've never been so scared in my whole life!"
she cried before rushing into his arms. Spinelli needed more information to
process Maxie's fear, and she revealed that Johnny didn't kill Logan —
Lulu did. She tearfully explained what happened the night Logan attacked her
and why they felt compelled to cover up his accidental murder. If Johnny is
charged with murder, Anthony Zacharra will kill all of them, Maxie wailed.
She thanked Spinelli for making her feel so safe and planted a kiss on him
that quickly went from sweet to passionate.
At the police station, Jason warned Claudia that whatever forensics turns up
will point to Claudia and Johnny. Mac arrived with the forensics report and
said they've got Logan's killer.
After Carly managed to piss off her husband for the umpteenth time that
week, Sonny told her to not even think about going back to him once Jax
finally divorces her. Sonny and Carly got into another shouting match, and
Kate arrived demanding to know what all the yelling was about. Carly barked
that it's foreplay, sometimes even better than the sex. At home, Jax was
delighted to see Morgan show off his karate moves. Carly came home and
continued to ream out Jax for kissing Kate, forcing him to choose between
being married to her or in business with Kate. Jax said they need to find a
way to move past this, so they reached a compromise: She would steer clear
of Kate, and he would limit his dealings with her to "strictly business".
Meanwhile, Mike swung by the Crimson offices and was happy to find that Kate
and Sonny were not arguing after the whole photo debacle. Later, Kate
received a call saying she'd been dubbed "the woman who can have it all" by
the tabloids and it may be to her and Crimson'scredit to play up her
dealings with Jax.
Tuesday
Lulu begged Johnny to run away but Johnny said it was too late. He relayed that the cops were watching him and they can't do anything to tip their hand. Lulu threatened to come clean to the cops but Johnny asked her to keep quiet. "Trust me," he asked. Lucky showed up at Johnny's with Harper and they arrested Johnny for Logan's murder and took him away.
At PCPD, Mac told Jason he was free to go, as was Claudia. Claudia stuck
around, knowing it was just a matter of time before Johnny was arrested.
In Kate's office, Sonny was confused by Kate's plan to let the public think
that she and Jax are an item. Kate claimed that the publicity generated was priceless for Crimson. Jax arrived and Kate said she doesn't want to stop the rumors due to all the buzz they've received. Sonny told Jax he can't be seriously considering pretending that he and Kate were an item just to generate publicity. Jax fretted that Kate's plan would upset Carly. Sonny said he didn't want to be difficult but he wasn't going to spend the rest of is life as Mr. Kate Howard.
At Jason's penthouse, Spinelli was on cloud nine after Maxie kissed him and said she needed him. Maxie then undressed Spinelli, then herself.
Post-coital, Jason walked in on Spinelli and Maxie on the couch. Spinelli
smiled and asked Stone Cold to give them a minute. A stunned Jason walked back out. Maxie had difficulty finding her shirt. Once she located it, Maxie ran out of the penthouse. "I'm so far beyond okay, I'll never look back," Spinelli mooned to Jason. He then began reading Shakespearean love sonnets. Jason admitted he was surprised. Spinelli spilled that Maxie was upset because Anthony had kidnapped her. He then mentioned that Lulu, not Johnny, killed Logan. Just then, Maxie called from the Overlook and asked Spinelli to meet her. He immediately agreed. Once there, Maxie told Spinelli that sleeping together was a mistake. She told Spinelli he was her best friend and vowed that sex would never interfere with their friendship. The Jackal was greatly disappointed.
Anna showed up at G.H. and lamented that Eli had arrived and dreaded his reaction to learning that his favorite groupie was going to be a
grandmother. Epiphany reported that the first floor was in chaos due to
Eli's arrival. Eli got off the elevator and Robin hid behind the nurses'
station. Eli greeted Anna and Patrick and asked Epiphany to come to his next concert. Robin hid behind some X-rays when Eli spotted her. She said she had a patient and had to run off. Eli then decided to take Anna back to his hotel and they left without him knowing Robin's condition.
Diane dropped off papers for Jax when Carly advised the lawyer she should drop Kate as a client. Diane countered by filling in Carly that her
paparazzi stunt backfired and Kate is more popular than ever since people are speculating if she is Jax's mistress. Carly was not pleased by that development. Jax returned home with flowers and junk food. When he told Carly of Kate's plan, he made her happy by stating that he wasn't going to go along with it.
Johnny was brought into the police station, where the entire Zacchara clan was waiting for him. Lulu rushed in after and the family told her to butt out. Then, Anthony told Claudia to go home and he'd handle Johnny's release. Mac took Lucky off the case due to Lulu's involvement. Claudia visited with Johnny and told him that she'd frame someone else for the crime if she had to.
Lulu returned home, where Tracy was waiting for her. Lulu snapped at Tracy, telling her not to say anything bad about Johnny or she'd move out. After Tracy left, Jason snuck in and told Lulu that he knows the truth. He advised Lulu to keep quiet and said that he was going to fix things.
Wednesday
Lulu went to the PCPD and chastised Lucky for pressuring Johnny, who she claimed was innocent. Lucky sent his sister away but Lulu said she'd be back.
Sonny was unnerved when he received flowers from Kate and gave them back to Max. Sonny told Max that he wanted him and Milo back on his payroll but Max balked when it came to running that by Jason. Sonny said he'd talk to the new boss.
Sam visited Nikolas's clinic for the first time. A Spanish-speaking mother
came in with her sick child and Sam translated. Matt examined the little
girl and determined that the meds she'd been given were ineffectual and, in fact, had caused an infection. Nikolas privately told Sam about the trouble they've been having with bad meds. Sam went to Lucky, filled him in and the two realized they've got to do something about this situation before somebody dies. Nadine wondered if the Zacchara's were behind the counterfeit drugs. Sam asked Lucky to launch a police investigation but he pointed out they don't have the proof or the resources to do so.
At Crimson, Kate stole her former assistant, Clarice, away from her
replacement, Giselle. Kate sighed that her own assistants are never around when she needs them but Clarice stated that she sent Lulu and Maxie out on errands. Kate loved Clarice's idea to run the sketches of her wedding dress in the second issue. Then, Diane showed up to offer Kate counsel on Sonny. Meanwhile, Maxie and Lulu slipped in and Clarice said that she can't cover for them again. Maxie then told Lulu to keep her cool while Johnny was being questioned. Alonzo barged in to see Kate, just as Sonny showed up. Alonzo told Sonny that he's all wrong for Kate and managed to get in to see her first when Kate unknowingly sent Sonny away. When she realized what happened, Kate went to Sonny's and apologized. "I'm not the kind of guy who's a stay-at-home husband," he huffed. "I won't and I can't be second in my wife's life."
Jerry was brought into the police station, where Mac happily gave him a hard time. Jerry was roughed up during his arrest but Mac was uninterested. An injured Jerry went to G.H. with a bad bruise on his back. Matt said he'd have to run some tests and noticed all of Jerry's scars.
Anna returned to Robin's and told her daughter that she had a great night with Eli, listening to his new songs and talking. Anna thanked Robin for hiding the baby bump in front of her beau. Anna vowed she'd be the best grandmother ever.
A dejected Spinelli showed up at Jake's and demanded to be served. Coleman hesitated, even though it wasn't even 10 o'clock in the morning. As Spinelli ranted, Eli Love showed up and Coleman had no problem serving him. The Jackal was miffed. Coleman mentioned to Eli that Spinelli was looking for advice about women and, feeling magnanimous, decided to help the kid out. Just then, Anna showed up.
Maxie went to the PCPD and asked Mac to see Johnny. Mac incorrectly assumed Maxie was sleeping with Johnny. She explained that she wasn't but Johnny had been nice to her and she just wanted to help. Mac kissed her on the forehead and let her in. In the interrogation room, Maxie told Johnny that Lulu is on the verge of cracking and he'd better do something quickly. Just then, Lulu entered and caught them together. "Don't you two look cozy," she hissed.
Thursday
Lulu was furious to find Johnny alone with Maxie in the PCPD interrogation
room. She yelled at them both and left. “See?” said Maxie about Lulu coming
unglued. Johnny begged Maxie to be strong and stick by their story. She
agreed, then left.
Carly was furious that Kate showed up at their house to drag Jax to a
business meeting. Jax agreed that the meeting was crucial and he needed to
attend with Kate, even though Carly objected.
At the penthouse, Spinelli confided in Jason that he's heartbroken over
Maxie's proclamation that they'll never have sex again and they should
remain “just friends.” Max interrupted and needed to see Jason. Max asked if
he and Milo could go back to working for Sonny. Jason asked whose idea this
really was and Max confirmed it was his own. Jason agreed to let the boys go
and told Max to let him know if Sonny gets into any trouble. Jason added
that Sonny may think he betrayed him, but that's not the case. After Max
left, Spinelli came downstairs and sulked. Jason advised him to accept
Maxie's friendship for now. Then, Carly barged in and asked for Jason's help
to get rid of Kate.
Robin informed Patrick that Anna is coming around to the idea of being a
grandmother. Robin had a craving and they decided to get something to eat.
At the clinic, Sam told the gang that she'd be willing to get a job
captaining one of Karpov's ships to investigate his connection to the
counterfeit drug ring. Nikolas and Lucky said no way and it's too dangerous.
Sam said she could handle herself.
At Jake's, Eli smooched Anna when Robin and Patrick entered. Eli was
surprised to see Robin was pregnant and stunned to realize that made Anna.
his squeeze, was going to be a grandma. Eli reassured Anna that the news
doesn't make a difference and then bought Patrick a drink. When Eli made a
couple of “Daddy” digs, Patrick boasted that he's finally really excited about
being a father. Later, Eli's manager arrived with a reporter. The reporter
asked if Anna was Eli's girlfriend. Eli said no, his girlfriend is a young
bikini model and Anna's just an old friend. Eli even made a jab about her
being a granny. Patrick was so insulted that he belted Eli.
At G.H., while Jerry was still in pain due to his back injury, he overheard
Matt and the nurses discussing the counterfeit drugs. Lucky arrived and
told Elizabeth that he wouldn't be able to take the boys this weekend
because he had to work. Then, Sam blew in, spotted them together and engaged
in a very public argument. Sam yelled that she's had enough and informed Liz
that Lucky was all hers. Liz went to Nikolas and asked him to help get Lucky
back together with Sam, claiming she just wants Lucky to be happy.
On the docks, Maxie caught up with Lulu and told her to get a grip. Lulu
barked that maybe Maxie can do terrible things and forget about them but she
can't.
Spinelli visited Johnny at the PCPD and confessed that Maxie told him Lulu
did it. Johnny was furious and threw a chair against the wall. Harper burst
in and ordered Johnny to calm down. Spinelli covered for Johnny. Alone
again, Spinelli convinced Johnny that Maxie was only concerned about Lulu's
best interests. Both guys feared guilt was eating Lulu alive.
Jax and Kate met with a European distributor and Jax easily won him over.
The meeting just proved to Kate that she and Jax can't operate the magazine
with restricted access to each other. Jax agreed and went home to Carly and
said she's going to have to lighten up. Carly lied and said she would, then
made a mysterious phone call.
At G.H., Nadine overhead a phone call with Matt talking to someone about
drug shipments. Nadine informed Nik, unaware that Matt was eavesdropping on
her.
Sam returned home to Lucky and they kissed. Their breakup was faked so Sam
could go undercover and investigate Karpov.
Maxie went to Jason and asked him to help Lulu. Meanwhile, Maxie showed up
at the PCPD with a gun in her purse.
Friday
Claudia showed up for a meeting with Carly at Metro Court, curious as to why
Carly suddenly wanted to see her. Carly proposed that Claudia help her get
Jax to drop his business dealings with Kate. She asked that Claudia buy him
out as an investor in Crimson and suggested that it would give her
more access to Sonny. Claudia retorted that she already has access to him.
When Jax approached, she blabbed about Carly's idea, then walked off. Jax
scolded at his wife, saying any dealings with Claudia's dirty money would
lead to another RICO violation for him. If that happens, he could go to
jail. He returned to the Crimson office and filled in Kate, who flew
off the handle and started issuing threats. Jax warned her not to act all
mobbed-up with him. She apologized — and was a little sheepish about all her
rantings about getting involved with mobsters.
Lulu entered the Port Charles P.D. as Mac was in a nearby room, pressuring
Johnny to confess to killing Logan. Mac tried to strike a deal with Johnny,
but Trevor bolted in and shot down the offer.... Lucky ran into his sister
and told her to steer clear of Johnny, but she loudly ordered him to back
off.... In the meantime, Maxie was with Jason and Spinelli. She filled in
Jason on the details behind Logan's death. Jason said he had an idea and
took off.... Back at the police station, Lulu brushed past her brother and
burst in to see Johnny. She confessed that she had a gun in her purse and
was ready to crack about Logan's death. When Lucky walked in, Johnny grabbed
Lulu and held the gun to her head.
Matt took a mysterious call from someone and said that "the nurse" overheard
his call, but that he would "handle" it. Afterward, he offered to buy Nadine
dinner.... Nikolas asked Layla what she thinks about Matt.
Eli was wheeled into GH with an ice pack held to his jaw. His stage manager
threatened to sue Patrick if the rock star's jaw is broken, but Anna
countered that if they sued, she'd go to the press with the story of how a
grandma gets the singer's "motor running." Robin praised Patrick for socking
Eli. In the waiting room, Robin and Anna trash-talked Eli and Anna regretted
getting involved with him. Robin assured her mom that she's nobody's
groupie. Anna had a change of heart about being a grandmother, calling it a
beautiful thing. When Patrick later reported that he may have caused a
hairline fracture which means that Eli would be unable to sing, Anna asked
Noah if he'd be willing to fill in one more time. He declined, fearing the
party lifestyle would tempt him to drink again. It turned out that Eli was
only bruised. As he got ready to leave the hospital, he asked Anna to come
visit his hotel room — on the sly. She refused to sneak around to protect his
image. Noah was riled by the rude behavior and knocked Eli out.
A sexy blonde named Sasha met with Sonny to arrange a business meeting
with her client, Mr. Andre Karpov. Sonny agreed and met with the fellow
gangster, who said he wants Sonny to be his "associate" in Port Charles.
Claudia happened to walk in and spotted the men. She
eavesdropped as Karpov said that he wants Sonny to help him avoid friction
with the Zaccharas and "Mr. Morgan." Corinthos agreed to consider the offer.
Claudia followed him back to his office and confronted him about the meeting
with the gangster. As they talked, Jason arrived.
Jax returned to Carly, who was miffed to hear that he'd told Kate about her
scheme. He said that he wants to give her the world, but that if she tries
to sabotage his business with Crimsonagain, he'd leave her. Back at
the magazine, Kate instructed Clarice to set up a meeting for Jax without
his knowledge and to pretend that she left a message with Carly....
