GH Week of July 13, 2009
Monday
Robin and Patrick were a big hit Jake's karaoke night. Lulu suggested that
Rebecca bond with the gang by being humiliated on the stage with them. Maxie
encouraged a nervous Spinelli to take the stage, as the crowd started
chanting "Ja-ckal, Ja-ckal," but Spinelli wasn't ready yet. Maxie couldn't
hide her disappointment. At the bar, Ethan told Rebecca that she needs to
change her mind and accept Nikolas's offer of financial support. When
Spinelli was unable to get his voice-enhancing microphone to work, Maxie
offered to inspire him. Maxie called up Lulu and Rebecca to sing. The girls
rocked the house, and even dragged Diane up onstage with them. Once they
finished, Maxie encouraged Spinelli to get up and sing for her. At their
table, Lucky blabbed to Lulu that he and Rebecca caught Liz and Nikolas
kissing. Lulu was shocked. Liz thanked him for that, as Ethan stared at
Nikolas and stewed. Spinelli went to Diane for counsel. She advised him to
tell Maxie the truth. When Spinelli saw the disappointment in Maxie's face
when he tried to break the news, he insisted he'd go on. Then, Spinelli got
up on stage and froze.
At Casa de Corinthos, Sonny demanded to know why he should put a cocky
Dominic on the payroll. Sonny pulled out a gun Dominic offered to "unite the
tribes" between Sonny and the Zacchara henchmen. Dominic appealed to Carly
for help. Just then, Claudia walked in and said, "What's he doing here?"
Dominic told Claudia that he was there for a job. Carly left and Dominic
cracked that it appears that in the Corinthos house, Claudia gives the
orders. "Claudia doesn't speak for me," Sonny barked. He then gave Dominic a
test — Find a disloyal subject and rat him out, and Dominic will find a new
home. Dom accepted the challenge and left. Claudia warned Sonny not to trust
Dominic. When he told her to butt out, Claudia screamed that she's had just
about enough. "I'm sick of you," Sonny spat.
At prison, Anthony told Jason that he's not liking the solitary prison
lifestyle. He also said that the latest outbursts among the Zacchara men
were not on his orders. Jason said he wanted proof that Claudia was
responsible for Michael's shooting. Anthony insisted he had "bupkis" on
Claudia. Anthony warned Jason that unrest was brewing and he wanted Sonny to
know that it didn't originate with him.
Olivia got touchy when Johnny asked about her past with Sonny. They
discussed Sonny and Claudia and Olivia countered that if Johnny wants out,
she'll let him go. Johnny insisted he enjoys what they have but he didn't
want to stand in her way if she wants something else. "Why are you so far
away?" he asked. They fell into a passionate kiss. Olivia re-iterated that
she has no future with Sonny.
Later, Jason met with Johnny and informed him about his visit with Anthony.
Jason suggested that someone else might be pulling the strings if Anthony is
not. Then, Jason hunted down Dominic and when he asked the thug about
confronting Carly and the boys at gunpoint, Dom shocked Jason with the news
that he hit up Sonny for a job. He said he wants to be the best soldier the
organization has ever had. Jason then placed a mysterious call. Sam showed
up and offered her assistance. She took off her coat to reveal a skimpy
outfit.
Dominic went to Claudia and tried to blackmail her for sex. He then
suggested that, as "outsiders," they team up to get what they want.
Sonny went to see Olivia. "Don't come here looking for sympathy from me
because I got nothing for you," she pressed. Their shouting escalated — into
a passionate kiss.
Tuesday
At Olivia's apartment, Sonny pulled her into a passionate kiss. She succumbed, then pushed him off and ordered him to go. "This is not high school!" she shouted. Olivia admitted that he's a better kisser now but that would be the last time he'd put his lips on her. Sonny pointed out that Olivia likes messing with trouble, and he's trouble with a capital T.
At Casa de Corinthos, Dominic flirted shamelessly with Claudia, who wasn't biting. He pointed out that they could become valuable allies and tried quizzing her for information.
At the penthouse, Jason stared at Sam in her sexy P.I./stripper outfit. When she tripped going up the steps, Jason caught her and they both stared into each others eyes. Sam realized that she twisted her ankle and blamed it on her stripper shoes. Couch-bound, Jason had Sam investigate Dominic via her laptop.
At Jake's, Spinelli froze on stage, trying to sing to Maxie. He stumbled at first, but when Maxie stood up, Spinelli became confident and belted out a meaningful love song, which won over the entire bar. To thundering applause, Spinelli kissed his beloved Maximista. As Spinelli basked in his euphoria, Diane melted while the others were in awe.
At the docks, Rebecca was startled to see Ethan following her. A jealous Ethan watched them from the shadows.
At Jake's, Lucky and Liz left, leaving Diane and Max at one table and Maxie and Spinelli at another. Max felt bad that he couldn't serenade Diane so he did the next best thing — he lip synced a Sinatra song and pulled her onto the dance floor, much to Diane's delight.
At home, Patrick and Robin reviewed their own karaoke performance and agreed they had a good time. They laughed and kissed on the couch. Robin suggested they play a game of "Rock star and groupie." "Groovy," Patrick replied.
At the docks, Dominic met his informant and said the plan was going smoothly. They then discussed the next phase.
Sonny came home and got into a shouting match with Claudia. She smelled Olivia's perfume and said that she hoped Sonny enjoyed feasting on her brother's leftovers. Sonny told his wife not call Olivia a whore, but Claudia pointed out that her husband didn't deny her accusations of having feelings for another woman.
At Wyndemere, Rebecca left a sleeping Nikolas and met Ethan back on the docks. Ethan lowered the boom and demanded $10,000 by the next day or he'd spill everything to Nikolas. Rebecca returned and climbed back into bed. Nik asked where she was. She lied that she went back to town to find a lost earring. Nik casually mentioned he has people for that. Rebecca remained wide awake.
Olivia summoned Dominic/Dante to her place and asked him how long he planned on staying in Port Charles. She asked him not to stick around.
Spinelli and Maxie returned to the penthouse and were all over each other. They acknowledged Jason and Sam and ran upstairs. Jason wondered what was up, since they just came from Jake's and Spinelli couldn't sing. "He must have done something right," smiled Sam. Upstairs, Spinelli and Maxie proceeded to make love with passion and vigor. When Maxie said, "I love you," Spinelli returned the sentiment.
Dominic went back to Sonny with information about a drop going down the following week with a renegade soldier from the organization. Sonny said he'd monitor the situation and consider hiring Dominic. The men shared a tentative toast.
Wednesday
Ethan called Rebecca at Wyndemere and continued to pressure her for money. Nikolas noticed that she was uneasy. When the bank called, Nik said his plans to open an account for Rebecca had changed. Rebecca then went to meet Ethan on the docks and told him that he needs to slow down. Ethan refused to back down from his demand of 10 grand to ensure his silence.
Spinelli woke up next to his beloved Maxie. "Please tell me this isn't a dream," he asked. "It's not," she smiled back. They then pulled the covers over themselves. Afterward, Maxie professed her love for Spinelli and thanked him for keeping her heart safe. "Will you marry me?" Spinelli blurted. Maxie was stunned when she realized that Spinelli was serious. Maxie hurriedly dressed and said she had to get to work.
As Sonny poured coffee, Claudia entered in a good mood, which didn't last long when Sonny brought up the paternity test set to take place that afternoon. Sonny assured her that if the baby is Ric's, their marriage was over. Claudia was certain the baby was Sonny's and he'd have to take a long, hard look at how he has been treating her. She stated if Sonny doesn't start treating her with the same respect he gives Carly and Alexis, she'll leave. "If you're asking me to love you, it's not gonna happen," Sonny reiterated.
When Sonny offered to join her for the test, she accused him of making sure that she wasn't going to switch any test results.
At G.H., Patrick was feeling a little hung over from their night at Jake's and assured "Rockin' Robin" that there would be no more karaoke for him. Just then, Andrea Floyd showed up looking for Matt, who was not on duty. She announced that she spoke to Brianna's family and the malpractice suit was going to be dropped. After Andrea left, Robin and Patrick continued to investigate her as a suspect in Brianna's murder.
Johnny showed up at the penthouse and he and Jason compared notes on Dominic. Just then, Dom arrived, and Jason challenged Dominic's loyalty to the organization. Maxie ran downstairs and interrupted the meeting. Dom tried to flirt with her but she ran out. Spinelli came downstairs and begged Jason to have a few moments alone with him. Jason granted the request. Spinelli informed Stone Cold that he found his "Inner Elvis" and enjoyed "carnal bliss" with his beloved Maximista, then he asked for her hand in marriage. "Have I been too hasty?" Spinelli asked. Jason advised Spinelli to take his time.... At Crimson, Maxie confessed her dilemma to Lulu, and also that she didn't say no to Spinelli's proposal. Lulu was dumfounded.
At the Qs, Kristina and her boyfriend Kiefer came over to play tennis with Michael. When Michael won, Kiefer said he let him win to please Kristina, as she had requested. Kiefer asked Kristina to join him at the club for a swim, She said she was having lunch with Michael but she'd meet him there later. Michael said maybe he'd join them. Kristina stated that she just wanted the guys to get along.
Ethan met with Edward to discuss Rebecca. "You'll be interested in what I have to tell you," Ethan teased. Later, Rebecca stopped by and Edward told her if she needed anything, just ask. She took the drink from his hand and relayed that she needed $10,000. As Nikolas talked to Alfred about redecorating Wyndemere, Edward considered Rebecca's request and got out his checkbook. Rebecca couldn't believe Edward didn't even ask why she needed it. Edward put a condition on the loan: "You move in here with us."
Johnny showed up at Sonny's and offered Claudia his support, for which she was grateful. "What will you do if the baby is Ric's?" Johnny asked. "That's a good question," noted Sonny as he entered the room. "What will you do?"
Thursday
At the Q mansion, Rebecca didn't know what to say about Edward's demand to move in in exchange for the loan. Rebecca pointed out that she just moved in with Nikolas at Wyndemere. Edward stressed that he was just looking out for her but Rebecca wouldn't stand for someone else telling her how to live her life. However, Edward stayed firm on the conditions of the loan.
At Casa de Corinthos, Johnny told Sonny he wasn't going to allow him to bully his sister. Claudia planned to diffuse the situation by heading to her amnio appointment. Sonny wanted to go with her but Claudia suggested he stay behind to tell Johnny about, "How you banged his whore last night." After Claudia left, Johnny wanted to know if Sonny was cheating on his wife. Just as Sonny brought up Olivia's name, she arrived and ordered the boys to stop
talking about her behind her back. Sonny then mentioned that maybe she might want to discuss what happened between them last night. Olivia came clean about the kiss but stressed that it meant nothing. Johnny was calm about it but Sonny stated that Olivia really wants him, not Johnny. Sonny added that once the paternity tests results were in, there was a good chance that his marriage would be over and then, all bets were off. Olivia informed Sonny
that any chance he had with her was long gone. Olivia suggested that Sonny concentrate on being the best father he can be.
At the penthouse, Spinelli consulted Max for romantic advice. He unloaded everything that happened with him and Maxie, including the proposal. Max stated that if Maxie ran off, the answer was probably know. Spinelli asked Max to coach him on how to approach Maxie again. Max called in the big guns — Diane — for additional advice. Diane suggested that if Spinelli went all out, making a grand gesture, Maxie might reconsider. However, when Diane phrased it as though she was expecting that kind of proposal from Max, Maxi fainted.
At Crimson, Lulu pressed Maxie for how she responded to Spinelli's proposal. Lulu told Maxie she needs to give him a definitive answer. Maxie stressed that she didn't want to hurt Spinelli. She told Lulu that she loves Spinelli, wants to spend all her time with him but, due to her parents, is anti-marriage. Just then, Kate checked in and chewed out Maxie for making changes in her absence. Lulu stuck up for Maxie. Later, Kate promoted Maxie to junior editor, and stressed that she didn't want Spinelli to take Maxie's attention away from her job. Maxie was relieved that she now had an excuse to decline Spinelli's proposal — until she and Lulu heard Spinelli's voice come over the Metro Court P.A. system.
Michael and Kristina arrived at the Port Charles Country Club to hang by the pool. Kristina told her brother that Alexis bought two new Priuses for the family to use. As Kiefer swam, Michael asked why she hung out with such a jerk. She insisted that when they were alone, Kiefer was sweet and caring. Just then, Kiefer came up, picked up Kristina and jumped not the pool with her. Later, the boys tried playing backgammon but ended up in a shoving match.
Ethan showed up at Wyndemere to discuss Rebecca with Nikolas. After Ethan noshed on a sandwich, Nik told him that he was out of line requesting money on Rebecca's behalf. Just then, Rebecca arrived. She told Ethan that asking for "gambling money" on her behalf was out of line and asked Ethan to leave. He did. Then, Rebecca told Nikolas she couldn't live with him.
Sonny arrived at Claudia's amnio. When they heard the baby's heartbeat, Claudia opened her hand and Sonny took it.
Friday
At the country club, Michael and Kiefer were called out for fighting. Kiefer covered with the manager, but as soon as he left, Michael punched Kiefer in the face. Attendants had to separate the boys. The manager returned and demanded an explanation. Kristina said Michael just had brain surgery but the manager said that was no excuse. "Screw you!" Michael shouted. The manager allowed Kiefer and Kristina to go but told Michael that he needs to speak to a parent. Kristina recommended talking to Michael's mother, not his father.
At G.H., Claudia and Sonny awaited the result of the amnio. Claudia was a bundle of nerves. Kelly put a rush on the test results. In the waiting area, Sonny pointed out that if the baby is Ric's, their marriage was in its last hours.
At Wyndemere, Rebecca tried to explain why she was moving out in order to reside with the Quartermaines. Nik said he wanted to wake up with her every morning. He accused the Qs of manipulating Rebecca. Nik then stated that he wanted to build a life with Rebecca and couldn't if she wasn't there. Rebecca said if this was a deal-breaker, then Nik should bow out now.
Lulu and Maxie listened intently as Spinelli commandeered the P.A. system at Metro Court to profess his true love to his beloved Maximista. Spinelli gave Maxie a poetic puzzle to solve. Maxie was dumfounded as to what it meant and where she was to meet him. Lulu and Maxie brainstormed and wondered if he meant Wyndemere. When they couldn't come up with anything else, Maxie headed out for Spoon Island.
Jax brought Carly to their new home, which was tastefully decorated and had all the amenities. Carly loved it. They talked about the new baby and how they both hoped it would be a girl. As they kissed on the couch, Carly got a call from the country club about Michael. Carly showed up and was outraged at the way Michael was being treated. The manager told Carly that Michael
would no longer be allowed at the club because of his impairment. Carly called Sonny and asked him to come to the club. As they waited for him, Carly and the manager got into an argument. Just then, Sonny arrived with Max and Milo, putting the fear of God into the manager.
Alexis showed up at Olivia's asking for a chat about Brianna. Olivia noted that Alexis was taken off the case but Alexis maintained her innocence. The gals then had some wine and talked about men.
Jason helped Spinelli set up their rooftop for the Jackal's romantic
rendezvous with his beloved Maximista. As Jason hung lights, Spinelli rehearsed what he was going to say to Maxie. He then went into a panic when he realized that he had no ring to present to his beloved. Jason offered to finish the rooftop while Spinelli hit the local jewelry store. Spinelli came back with a ring and dressed in a suit and tie. Jason wished him luck with his proposal. Once alone, Spinelli feared Maxie might not show up.
Maxie arrived at Wyndemere, where Nikolas had no idea what she was talking about. When Maxie realized she was in the wrong place, she began to panic, thinking Spinelli would think she blew him off. Maxie returned to Crimson and after speaking with Lulu, Maxie figured out where she needed to meet Spinelli. Maxie showed up on the rooftop, and upon seeing her, Spinelli pulled her into a kiss.
Kristina brought Kiefer home to change for a party. There, Kiefer put the moves on Kristina. When she told him, "No!" Kiefer hit her across the face.
