Monday
Maxie demanded Winifred 'fess up, and she admitted she's been following
Spinelli. It turned out, Winifred was a giant Spinelli fangirl. Territorial
Maxie shooed the girl away, but she stopped to rave about The Saga of Stone
Cold, Spinelli's video game. This blew The Jackal's mind. Maxie dragged him
off to spend time with her and he accused her of being jealous. Meanwhile,
Lucky informed a disbelieving Lulu that Johnny had assaulted someone and
hauled Johnny in. They all sniped back and forth in the interrogation room.
Alone, Johnny told Lulu he was framed and knew exactly why. When Ric arrived
to defend him, Johnny's theory was confirmed. He told Ric thanks but no
thanks. Back at the apartment, Maxie insisted to Spinelli that she wasn't
jealous: something was up with Winifred.
Nikolas deftly handled Nadine's patent issues with Mr. Corday — except for
the part where Mr. Corday warned them they could find themselves "enemies of
the state." Nadine wished her childhood sweetheart Bruce could've beaten Mr.
Corday up, and had to explain to Nikolas who Bruce was and why this impacted
how she feels about arms manufacturers. Robin and Patrick returned from
their honeymoon, with Robin fussing over Emma incessantly. Patrick suggested
she take Emma for a checkup if she was so worried. While she was gone, Sonny
dropped by to talk about Michael's condition. "I want my son back," he
confessed. Patrick asked him to accept Michael's prognosis. Well, what if it
were Emma? Patrick admitted he'd have trouble accepting her fate and then
assured Sonny he's not a lousy father. Later, Robin and Emma came home and
Robin admitted her overreaction to Sonny. "Better safe than sorry," he
shrugged, before getting introduced to the baby. Robin handed "Uncle Sonny"
sleepy little Emma. Aw!
Carly thanked Jax for being supportive about Michael's birthday and admitted
she and Sonny had been there for Michael together. But she'd also loved
spending New Year's Eve with Jax. In the name of "full disclosure," Jax told
her Sonny walked in on him and Kate flirting and assumed they're having an
"ongoing affair." "Are you?" asked Carly. He assured her they're just
friends and business partners. Carly wondered if he regrets sleeping with
Kate. Jax reminded her that she'd alibi-ed Sonny a mere 24 hours before, so
maybe there was a leeeeetle payback, but he'd never set out to hurt her.
They discussed divorce proceedings. "I don't want a divorce at all," Carly
declared, accusing Jax of cutting his losses. No, he just wanted them to get
to a place where they can be in each other's lives but not as husband as
wife. Before he walked away, Carly told him she wants to arrange an
endowment to GH in Michael's name.
Sonny and Claudia reiterated the terms of their deal and then she pounced
him with a kiss to keep him from realizing the DVD was right behind him in
plain view. Sonny didn't want to play games. As he walked to the sideboard
for a drink, Claudia quickly hid the DVD. They discussed the power dynamics
in their relationship and what introducing sex into it would mean. Sonny
told her that because she's never been in love, she doesn't know how
"shallow" a sexual aspect of their marriage would be. Alone, Claudia started
viewing Jerry's second clue. "You'll sleep sounder when you've found it," he
purred. Then Ric arrived to tell Claudia what he was up to with Anthony. She
assured him she wouldn't betray him, and then he admitted they set Johnny up
and he needed Claudia to let this play out. She warily agreed and he kissed
her. Later, Claudia watched the rest of Jerry's DVD — and Carly walked in!
Tuesday
As Spinelli vowed to learn who had hacked his beloved laptop, Winifred approached, and they instantly bonded. Meanwhile, Maxie was complaining to Sam about Winifred "stalking" Spinelli. Sam suggested Maxie be happy her "friend" found a kindred soul — or risk pushing him into Winnie's arms. Maxie lamented that she used to be the kind of girl who stole boyfriends, not had them stolen (not that he's her boyfriend.) Meanwhile, Winifred was thrilled to know "Stone Cold" really exists and pressed the Jackal for real-life details he used in creating his Saga of Stone Cold game. Later, Spinelli explained his worries about the hacker, since he has access codes to "unimaginable places." Winifred suggested teaming up — just as Maxie arrived. Maxie dissed Winnie's attitude, speech and looks, driving her away. Spinelli glared at Maxinista and scolded: "This is totally beneath you." Later, Maxie offered Spinelli a soda and tried to convince him that Winifred is up to something creepy and cannot be trusted. Much later, Sam was trying to get Jason on the phone when Lucky walked in. He wondered if she still has a thing for Jason — or if she is still doing illegal stuff. Whatever, he's tired of being left out, so he left.
Aboard The Haunted Star, Luke asked Mike to oversee the rebuilding of Kelly's, and pointed out Bobbie wants it to be a mob-free zone. Mike vowed to rebuild the old place just as it was. When Mike asked about Laura, Luke sent him away. At the police station, Ric warned Johnny to make up with Anthony or go to jail for assault. Johnny insisted he punched a wall, but Ric promised to produce a victim who would ID Johnny. Lulu vowed to save Johnny, and went to her father. He agreed to help — and to let her help him help Johnny.
Patrick returned home to find Robin despairing of ever being beautiful again, and worrying about something bad happening to Emma — like an illness or accident. When Patrick acknowledged it's an emotional time, Robin flipped. He suggested she's suffering from postpartum depression, and she got really defensive. Patrick went shopping and later brought Robin a sexy nightie, but she balked at putting it on.
At Metro Court, an electrician was unable to tell Jax why the hotel lost power on New Year's Eve. Olivia asked if he checked the plumbing. The professional scoffed. Alexis arrived with division-of-assets paperwork for Jax. Later, the electrician had to admit Liv was correct: a leak had shorted out the electrical system. Jax was so impressed he offered Liv the job of plant manager, at 15 percent above her old salary — and with benefits (and the gleam in his eye implied he wasn't talking dental). Later, Nikolas visited Nadine at the nurses' station just as she learned she's being audited by the IRS. Suspecting Equinox was behind this, Nik asked Alexis to take her case. Alexis contacted a friend in Washington with ties to the incoming administration.
Claudia watched the DVD as Jerry warned her he hid an incriminating disc in Sonny's house. At that exact moment Carly strutted in. When Claudia scolded her for barging into "my house," Carly pointed out that she decorated the place; Claudia said she's going to redecorate. Carly flopped onto "her" couch. Claudia ribbed Carly about Sonny being married to someone else now, and accused her of trying to get Sonny out of the mob biz so her precious Jason will be top dog. Carly sad she had been sitting out the conflict, but Claudia's needling made her want to take a hand. Claudia said Sonny will eliminate Jason. Carly decided Claudia is a danger to Sonny, and vowed to get to get rid of her.
Wednesday
Maxie went to the pier, where she interrupted a meeting of the Spinelli-Winifred Mutual Admiration Society to accuse Winnie of not only trying to steal Spinelli, but hacking his system. The Jackal defended the Priestess, who tried to deflect suspicion toward Maxie, who left in a snit. Later, Winifred visited Maxie to warn her to back off, or she will regret it. Maxie called her a fashion tragedy and a geek, then wasted no time summoning Spinelli to tell him about Winnie's gambit: "She's very mental." Spinelli was saddened that Maxie made up lies about Winnie. Maxie asked, "Why would anyone want to be your Grasshopper?" The Jackal insisted their friendship is true — and that he has room for more than one friend. Maxie demanded he choose: "Me, or the Priestess Winifred?"
Luke went to the GH nurses' station to pump Elizabeth about Carl Purvis, the guy Johnny allegedly pummeled. But she cited professional ethics in deferring. Instead, she went to visit Lucky, who was struggling to do his taxes. Luckily, Liz was willing to help. They bantered and ended up playing video games. When Sam stopped by she saw them and tried to leave, but Lucky stopped her. At the PCPD, Ric urged Johnny to take Anthony's deal. Then Ric got a call from Purvis, who demanded a meet at the pier or he'd sing for the DA. Actually, it was Luke disguising his voice, and when Ric arrived Luke confronted him, but Ric wouldn't back off Johnny.
in Sonny's study, Max suggested that Jason might retaliate if Sonny lands a Zacchara shipment on one of Jason's piers, but Sonny scoffed that Jason will do anything to avoid a fight. Diane interrupted to deliver Sonny's post-nup — and her letter of resignation. Max asked Sonny not to let her quit: "I trust this woman with my life — and yours." Sonny noted the obvious conflict of interest between her working for himself and for Jason. Meanwhile, Carly told Jax the spa renovation is complete, and amid sniping over dividing their assets, she invited him to "test" the new pool with her. But then Olivia arrived for work, and Carly melted down over Jax hiring Live without consulting her. Jax put her off and fled, then new operations manager Olivia tried to talk about the spa with Carly, who accused Jax of trying to use Live against her. Olivia assured her she would never allow herself to be used. Carly confided, "I don't like women," and noted that even though they are "friends," she resents Jax using Live. Then Max arrived to tell Carly there was trouble with "Mr. C." Carly agreed to talk to him, and asked Live not to volunteer that Max had called her away. Back at Sonny's, Diane scolded him for not taking Jason seriously as a threat. Sonny insisted it's all just business. Diane hoped it wouldn't become a war, because she was sure the "more ruthless" Sonny would win. Later, Olivia told Jax that Carly had to go somewhere, and he instantly deduced that it involved Sonny. Olivia didn't want to get involved, but Jax ordered her to go buy a bikini and help him "inspect" the new pool — as part of her job, of course. Sonny, meanwhile, was surprised to see Carly appear. She asked to go over a project to honor Michael — and she also wanted to talk about Jason. "I know I'm the cayuse of the tension" she said. "It's gutta stop." Sonny suggested it's up to Jason, but Carly insisted Sonny holds the key. Sonny said he just wants his organization back, and Carly pointed out that isn't fair to Jason. Sonny was furious that she wasn't seeing his point of view. "You're either with me, or against me," he growled.
Thursday
Sonny told Carly he was hurt because she and Jason teamed up and took his kids away. Sonny said that he understood that the shooting affected Michael the most but that he was hurt, too. He told Carly that he could fight her or he could fight Jason, but not both of them. Carly was empathetic, but told Sonny that when Michael got shot, she blamed him. After Sonny admitted that he hadn't thought of how Carly felt when Michael got shot, Carly suggested the two try to help each other from now on. Carly went to get her purse and something fell out of it and under the end table. They were surprised to find one of Jerry's DVDs. Sonny mistook it for one of the maid's CDs and put it back in the cabinet! Carly invited Sonny to her benefit at the hospital, and he promised to attend. Ric warned Luke to stay out of Anthony's way. When Ric left, Lulu showed herself and despaired of getting Johnny freed. "I'm just getting started, cupcake," Luke winked. Then Trevor paid Luke a visit at the casino to warn him to steer clear of Anthony. When Sonny arrived he and Luke ignored Trevor, who eventually left. Sonny pointed out that Luke usually skips town when the going gets tough, but Luke vowed to stay and fight this time.
Outside the Spencer house, Sam assured Lucky she had nothing important to say, and left. When Lucky went back inside, Liz told him he could go, but he stayed and they did his taxes. Lucky confided that Sam was getting involved with Jason again. Elizabeth suggested that maybe Sam was one of those people who needed to move from crisis to crisis, so Lucky should follow his instincts.
Olivia expertly warded off Jax's flirting, insisting she wasn't going to be his rebound relationship. When Carly walked in Jax was not happy to hear that she saw Sonny. "I don't think the two of you are as far apart as you think you are," Olivia suggested before leaving. Carly wanted to go for a swim with Jax but he reminded her they had a meeting with the divorce lawyers. Carly hoped to stall that. Nadine and Nikolas met with Alexis, who told them that they'd be speaking with two senators in Washington — in six hours! "I can't do this!" cried Nadine. Nikolas assured her that everything would be okay, so she rushed to tell Epiphany she'd be missing her shift. When she left, Alexis asked Nikolas about Nadine. He explained Nadine dragged him back into the land of the living. Alexis guessed that while Nadine was clearly in love him, Nikolas simply liked her a whole lot and that's why he was overcompensating. Alexis was concerned that Nadine not get hurt in the end. Nikolas admitted that in his heart, he'd never be over Emily. After Nikolas left, Diane arrived, and suggested they pull Carly and Jax's strings to make them realize they are still in love. Alexis wasn't so sure.
Sam and Maxie met up at Maxie's apartment, where Sam deduced that Maxie wanted Spinelli all to herself. Maxie boasted that while Winifred shared tech things with Spinelli, she had looks on her side. An ambivalent Sam agreed to talk to Jason about Spinelli, and warned Maxie not to do anything she'd regret. Spinelli and Winifred met on the docks, where he tried to tell her he only wanted to be friends. "If you don't want to be friends anymore just say it!" she said. Spinelli assured her he did, but his heart belongs to Maxie. "Fair Maxinista is the luckiest girl on Earth," smiled Winifred. Then Spinelli was summoned by Maxie. When he arrived at the apartment, she began to seduce him. At that moment, Winifred met with Agent Rayner on the docks — who told her that thanks to her, he can put Spinelli away for the rest of his life. Or use him to get to Sonny!
Friday
Jax, Carly, Alexis and Diane met to discuss the divorce settlement. Diane
made it sound incredibly drawn out and tedious while Alexis hoped Jax would
trash Carly and make it go fast. "Being married to Jax just isn't your
priority," Alexis accused Carly. "All those failings aside...I love him,"
insisted Carly. "I went into this marriage with an open heart." She copped
to being weak and falling into dysfunctional patterns, apologized for taking
the life they'd built with Morgan from Jax, and walked out. Alone, Alexis
and Diane did a post-mortem about their clients' love life. At the Metro
Court, Jax apologized for Alexis' battering her, but Carly took
responsibility, saying she'd choked "on her own garbage." Jax assured Carly
that he does love her. Carly noted divorce sucked no matter if it was
"nasty" or "amicable," and refused to give up on him. Later, Carly and Jax
both asked their lawyers to drag the divorce out as long as possible so
they'd have time to work things out.
Nikolas calmed Nadine before they went before the senators to discuss
Raylene's patent. He suggested she consider giving the royalty checks to a
veterans' organization. His support helped her decide to face the senators
head on. The panel warned Nadine she's in danger of violating federal law.
Privately, Nikolas said he'd drawn up papers to transfer ownership of the
patent, so he could take the heat. Nadine signed the papers and then Nik
reiterated her stance to not let Equinox use the plow.
Sonny talked to Luke about landing shipments on Jason's pier. "This place is
neutral territory," Luke warned of The Haunted Star. Sonny really just hoped
he could "quietly" take Jason's territory without a fuss. (No fuss in in the
PC mob scene? Ha.) Luke warned that when the big fish was running two
organizations, the Feds would be eager to hook him. After imparting his
wisdom, Luke asked Sonny to get Johnny out of Anthony's "trick bag," but
then said he should do what's "politically expedient." Sonny said he "owed"
Johnny for when he had Johnny worked over last year. Claudia visited Johnny
in the PCPD's Corinthos-Morgan Interrogation Suite, hoping to convince him
to help himself. Johnny refused and Claudia blamed Lulu. Then, she confided
in Johnny about Jerry's DVDs. Once Sonny knew what they'd set in motion, "he
will kill you," warned Johnny. Claudia didn't want to skip town because
Johnny would still be in danger. Johnny mused how the secret would affect
Lulu. Of course, she walked in. Cue the Claudia/Lulu snark, which was
interrupted by news that Johnny was being sprung. Tracy worried about Luke's
renewed connection to Sonny. Later on the pier, Claudia observed Anthony
would be "supremely pissed" at Sonny and swore to make good on the debt she
owed him. She then spied one of their ships coming to Jason's pier,
wondering how Jason would retaliate. "I think he just did," Sonny said,
grimly, when the ship exploded.
After their night of lovemaking, Maxie said she and Spinelli cemented their
bond and now Winifred wouldn't come between them. Spin instantly realized
what she'd done: "You were staking your claim." Hurt, he stopped calling her
"fair Maximista." "You find me child-like," he accused. Confirming that,
Maxie insisted Winifred was taking advantage of him. Spinelli railed at her
for being afraid to lose his "devotion" and "cyber support. "If you really
think I am that shallow, then you don't know me at ALL," Maxie replied.
Bitter and hurt, she said she pitied him and shooed him off. "I'm done with
you," she cried, driving him out the door and then sobbing. Maxie tearfully
flashed back on Spin giving her his muse book. When a jubilant Lulu and
Johnny came home, she rushed out to "fix everything." On the docks, Agent
Rayner congratulated Winnie on a job well done. Later, when Maxie rushed to
the docks to make up with Spinelli, he was arrested by Homeland Security!
