GH Week of January 4, 2010

Monday

Carly watched as Michael cradled Josslyn and promised not to be a bad influence on her. Carly assured him Josslyn couldn't ask for a better big brother, noting he only killed Claudia to protect her. She hugged him, but he withdrew. Later, Jax asked why she skipped work. She pointed out that Michael is 18 already, and insisted she doesn't want to miss a moment of Josslyn's life.

Sam awoke in a glass cell with a chalk outline on the floor to see Franco taking pictures of her. He claimed to be working on his masterpiece. Since Jason refused to show him any love, Franco planned to make him suffer. But Franco needed to nab someone else, so he left Sam literally in the dark. Jason asked Lucky to arrest him for Claudia's murder, noting that if he's locked up, Franco would not be able to use Sam as bait. Later, at PCPD, Mayor Floyd held a press conference to announce Jason's arrest. After Floyd thoroughly slandered Jason (who's never been convicted of murder), Lucky paraded Stone Cold before the cameras, then brought him into an interrogation room and cut him loose — because he hadn't actually arrested Jason. Later, Lucky told Mac that Jason was bounced for lack of evidence, but admitted he was doing, "a favor for a friend." Mac passed along a 2003 file that just arrived from the New York City police. It was Dante's arrest reports on the tagger.

Sonny told Dominic he cannot to let Franco call the shots with Jason, so he ordered Dom to find Claudia's body. Dominic reasoned that Franco is storing the body someplace cold. Then Michael interrupted them. Sonny worried about what his son heard, and reminded Michael that he doesn't want him in the business. Then Sonny got a call that Jason was arrested. Michael wanted to confess to protect Jason, but Sonny stopped him, challenging him to "man up" and control his emotions. He made Michael swear not to tell anyone, and set out to get Jason sprung. Later, at PCPD, while Lucky was away from his desk, Sonny peeked at that NYPD file — but Lucky caught him.

Johnny awoke on Olivia's couch after dreaming about Claudia begging him to find her body. He vowed to give his sister a proper burial. Lulu visited Ronnie in the hospital to ask why Franco tried to kill him, but she got stonewalled. Later, she ran into Dominic, who figured out Franco and Johnny are connected. Back in 2003, Dante arrested Franco on a graffiti rap, but Ronnie convinced him to let the tagger walk. Dom went to Ronnie's room and confronted him about covering for Franco.

While Jax was at a meeting, Carly heard a strange sound on the baby monitor. It was Franco tagging Josslyn's room; she found him playing with Josslyn! Franco brought Carly to his studio and tied her up. He ordered her to get Jason sprung by telling the cops that Michael is the real killer. Franco called Claudia's corpse his hole card — because he has photos of Michael standing over it. Later, Jax returned home to find the front door open, and Josslyn alone and crying.

Sam's glass prison was revealed to be concealing a bomb with a ticking timer. When Jason broke into Franco's studio, Carly shouted a warning. He heard Franco's voice, then wheeled and fired!

Tuesday

Sonny covered when Lucky caught him reading the files on his desk. Meanwhile, Jax reported Carly was kidnapped. She was in Franco's studio, warning Jason, who shot at Franco — but it was only a reflection. As Franco ran off, Jason freed Carly before pursuing. And, even though Franco literally kicked up his heels with joy as he fled, he still got away. Carly immediately called home to check on Josslyn. Jax assured her their daughter was fine, and Lucky was there. Carly recapped her kidnapping for Jason, and her fear that Franco would use the photos of Michael. As soon as Jason brought Carly home, Jax blamed Jason for Franco. Jax wanted an investigation, but Carly insisted Jason handle it. Jax decided to move the family to Australia — tonight. And Carly agreed. Jason examined the nursery, and explained to Lucky how Franco has been taunting him. Lucky realized Josslyn was a warning that Franco could raise the stakes any time. Lucky wanted to make Sam a federal case, but Jason realized he has to play by Franco's rules. Lucky explained that Sam once told him she understands and accepts the risks of being Jason's girlfriend, so he will play it Jason's way. Downstairs, Lucky agreed with Jax's plan to leave the country — as did Jason. After they left, Carly told Jax about Franco's photos of Michael. And she admitted that Jason screwed up by covering up Michael's crime, but pointed out that Jason just saved her tonight.

At G.H., Ronnie stonewalled Dante on the Franco issue. Sonny summoned Dominic to his office to reveal he found something at PCPD: Dominic's cell phone number was on a pad on Lucky's desk. Dom covered by noting he was invited to Lucky's for Christmas to make Lulu happy, and maybe Lucky got the number then, adding that Lucky tried to sweat him about Claudia, but got nowhere. Sonny warned Dom never to lie to him. Then asked how serious it is with Lulu. Dominic got bashful, so Sonny offered some tidbits about the Spencer family: Laura was a wonderful mother but but had mental problems, and Luke was not domesticated, so Lulu was raised by her grandmother. Sonny warned Dom to treat Lulu with respect. Then Sonny got a call from Michael revealing that Jax is flying the family to Australia. Sonny rushed over and declared that Michael and Morgan are staying with him.

At G.H., Elizabeth told Steve that she and Nikolas are over — just as Nik walked in. Nikolas cornered Steve and (while Liz eavesdropped) ranted about the new COS' plans to revamp the trauma center. Steve bypassed the crap and announced he knows the truth about Nik and Liz, and doesn't like it. Nikolas steered the topic back to the ER — and Steve's job — but Steve refused to be intimidated. Liz dragged Nikolas into a room and insisted she wants to go back to being just friends. Lucky arrived at the Hub just in time to hear Nik declare, "I love you, and that's not going to change just because you tell me to stop."

Maxie arrived at the Crimson offices to tell Lulu that Franco kidnapped Sam as bait for Jason. Maxie called Mac, who told her that Jason is back on the street. Maxie asked how long it takes to get a search warrant, then went to Franco's studio to rifle his files. Dominic arrived and demanded to know what she was doing there. Jason went to Ronnie's room, pulled a gun on him, and demanded to know what Franco did with Sam. Franco, meanwhile, went to Crimson, looking for Maxie. When Lulu noted Maxie was out, Franco said Lulu will have to do, and grabbed her. "You're not gonna be any fun, are you?" he whispered.

Wednesday

Nikolas and Elizabeth hashed out their illicit affair and Nikolas confessed he loves her. Lucky overheard all of it! He was horrified! So was Elizabeth, who tried to get Nik to stop saying how he feels about her. She insisted she wants a life with Lucky and pointed out she has more to lose than he does. A shaken Lucky walked up on them, and they covered for their fight. Lucky pretended he was just there looking into the Franco case and worried about Liz and Jason's connection. Later, Lucky showed up at Liz's house and again warned her to be careful of Franco. Then he admitted he heard her and Nikolas talking. He said everything finally made sense.

Jax and Carly got the kids prepped for a trip to see Lady Jane. Sonny strolled in saying he wanted the boys to stay with him. Carly explained how Franco had nabbed her and left Josslyn alone. Sonny insisted he could protect his sons. Michael pointed out that things could go wrong, like at the warehouse with him; he wanted Morgan safe! Sending the boys upstairs, Carly took a stand with her unreasonable ex. In Franco's studio, Dante warned Maxie that the man was an unstoppable killer. They searched for Maxie's compromising photos and Dante found specs for a bomb. Meanwhile, Jason held a gun to hospitalized Ronnie's head, and also manhandled him, demanding he 'fess up about Franco. Ronnie sang like a canary! Back at Franco's shrine to Jason, Maxie insisted to a baffled Dante that Sam had to be fine. She even compared Franco's oddities to Spinelli's! Jason rushed back to the penthouse to have Spinelli look into rental properties and then Dante told them about Franco's bomb. Back at Chez Jacks, Sonny noted what a fragile place Michael is in and Carly reiterated that Franco is a fruit loop and her kids are in danger. When Jax added his opinion, Sonny complained that he had a stepfather just like Jax and asked Carly to trust his judgment. Alone, Jax urged Carly to stick to their guns but she began to waffle. Maxie found Olivia at Crimson and the two of them talked about Franco. Back at Jason's, the guys tried to pin down their nemesis' location. Carly tried to explain Jason and Franco's rivalry to Jax, who feared Franco could still target their kids. He also pointed out that Jason thought it was a good idea for them to leave. Carly agreed to jet. Spinelli found a space rented to "J. Depp" (LOL!). Info in hand, Jason soon burst into an empty warehouse and found a red briefcase, while Dante showed up at Crimson. He worried that Franco had grabbed Lulu. Sure enough, viewers saw Lulu tied to a chair with a bomb beneath it! As for Franco, Max and Milo caught him tagging Sonny's restaurant window. Max shoved the loon into Sonny's office. Gun totin' Sonny didn't scare him at all.

At GH, Robin and Patrick argued over a case and nuLisa walked up. Lisa sided with Patrick, of course. She then interrupted Jason menacing Ronnie. She bolted out to the nurses' station and told Robin, who assured her she'd handle it. Heck, even Patrick was blasé about "Robin's ex-boyfriend" threatening a patient! Robin booted Jason out, and he explained his loved ones were in danger from Franco and bolted. Back in the Hub, Patrick told Lisa way too much about Robin's romantic past. Meanwhile, Robin was glad Ronnie didn't want to file a complaint against Jason and she defended the hit man being "in a desperate situation." Robin and Lisa then went to Jake's for drinks and dished Jason. When Patrick got a little annoyed by the Jason sentimentality, Robin pointed out that if it wasn't for Jason she never would've met Patrick.

Thursday

Sonny demanded Franco tell him where Sam is. Max pulled the photo of Michael with Claudia's body from Franco's pocket. Incensed, Sonny threatened Franco — who in turn told Sonny to relay a message to Jason: meet Franco alone and unarmed. He called Jason a killer and Sonny a "coward." Sonny threatened to kick his ass. "Try," Franco sneered. Sonny called him a lovestruck groupie, so a defiant Franco got up and strolled out. Meanwhile, Michael complained to Carly that they have to leave the country because Jason screwed up by not killing Franco. "Jason is in hell!" Carly scolded, explaining how Jason and everyone else is trying to protect Michael. "Who asked you?" Michael replied, claiming he is old enough to make his own decisions. She said it's not an obligation, everyone does it out of love. He doubted anyone loves him now that he's a killer, but she explained that as his mother she loves him, and can see how torn up he is and wants to help. He confessed he has nightmares about killing Claudia, and broke down in her arms. Jason explored the train shed, finding a brick of plastique and other bomb-making materials. At Crimson, Dominic suggested to Maxie that she may have been Franco's true target. Then he called Jason to tell him Franco has Lulu. Meanwhile, Lulu was strapped to a chair wired to a bomb. Dominic joined Jason, who showed him the specs for a cell — in which he may be holding Sam. Jason realized he will have to choose between Sam and Lulu. Sonny called Jason to warn him to do something about Franco — fast.

Lucky told Elizabeth, "You have nothing to be sorry about," because he heard her trying to back Nikolas off after he declared his love for her. "Brothers don't do this to each other," Lucky moaned. Thinking quickly, Liz insisted she doesn't share Nik's feelings, and didn't tell Lucky because she didn't want to come between the brothers. Lucky called his brother a "bastard," but Liz defended Nik as merely looking for a substitute for Emily — much like she turned to Jason when she thought Lucky had died. Lucky pointed out Jason isn't his brother. Liz said she and Nik have already cleared the air, so he shouldn't bother confronting his brother. He wasn't sure he can forgive Nik — but it would be worse if she loved Nik back. Dominic called Lucky to tell him about Lulu, and he rushed off. Elizabeth rushed to Wyndemere to tell Nik that Lucky heard him — and that she fibbed to Lucky. She asked him to back her up, but he noted she knows they love each other.

Robin and Patrick played pool with Lisa until Robin got paged, leaving the old flames alone. Lisa suggested life must be tame for him now, but she remembers "Wildman Drake."

Maxie summoned Spinelli to Crimson and recapped, blaming herself for Lulu's plight because she slept with Franco. Elsewhere, Franco told Lulu she just got in the way, and it's up to someone else to save her. Lulu slipped a hand free, pulled a wire from the bomb and threatened to detonate it. He sneered at her and pulled the cord himself! Sonny was ordering Jason to change the rules of Franco's game by capturing him alive and forcing a confession when they were interrupted by the sound of an explosion. Moments later, Max and Milo reported the blast came from an abandoned building, and there were no injuries. Jason insisted he has to play by the rules, or Franco will expose Michael. Jason hopped in a car, and then suddenly realized that the address of the explosion, First Street and Metropolitan, could be described as "first" and "met" — giving him the location where Franco was waiting.

When Lucky arrived at the shed, Dom explained what he knows. Sonny told Carly to take the kids to Australia. Alone, Michael started to dial Lucky's phone. Jason returned to Franco's gallery, where two guys with cameras videotaped him and Franco. Fearing a trick, Franco whipped out a metal detector and told Jason, "Assume the position!"

Friday

Lucky helped Dominic search Franco's workshop. They brainstormed and then headed back to the PCPD. Lucky warned Domte that his cover could be blown, but he didn't care. He just wanted to save Lulu. Elsewhere, a bound Lulu shrieked for help. Back at Franco's St. Jason shrine, he finished scanning Jason for weapons and showed Jason a picture of Sam tied up on a block of ice. Franco ate snacks and cracked wise as Jason got increasingly more furious. When he broke one of the cameras, Franco dismissed his crew. "Alone at last," he purred at his idol. He started questioning Jason about what it's like to kill. Jason reluctantly revealed that killing is the first thing he was ever good at. At the PCPD, Dante and Lucky did some computer searches. Lulu continued to shriek while Sam tried to break out of her plastic box. Jason told Franco all about his brain damage and how Sonny saved him. "With a gun I my hand, I wasn't broken. I was competent," he
said. Franco noted he should've died in the car crash, as he didn't value his gift. Lucky and Domte talked about TriBeCa and its parallels in Port Charles and narrowed down an area to search. Jason wanted to know where Sam and Lulu are. Franco dubbed him a freak and Jason shot back that he's a "sick, vicious, deluded animal." As Franco taunted him, Jason rushed him, slamming him down on his desk with a hand at his throat. An ecstatic Franco noted he'd won. Jason was just like him! He whispered that Sam was at 2nd and Powell and Lulu at 234 Bristol. With 8 minutes left, Jason could only save one! Before Jason bolted, Franco urged him to come find him once this was over. Jason called Dante with Lulu's location. Franco rhapsodized for a camera as "Mad World" played, explaining how he'd become a killer. He actually said, "I shot a man in TriBeCa just to watch him die." (No, your recapper is not kidding.) As the clock ran down, Dante and Jason rushed to save their women. With 11 seconds remaining, Jason found Sam!

Sonny found Michael in his office. He revealed he'd almost called Lucky to confess he'd killed Claudia. Sonny was appalled by the very idea! (We don't confess to crimes in this family, young man!) Sonny sat Michael down to rationalize his violent act. Michael wanted to take responsibility for his choices, but Sonny would have none of it. He just wanted to make Michael's crime go away but, on the bright side, nothing would ever make him stop loving his son. Later, Sonny called Alexis to meet him and told her that Franco had nabbed Sam. He worried about what to tell Kristina. On cue, she appeared. Her parents told her what was up and Kristina noted it wasn't Jason's fault but Sonny's! "The situation's been handled," Sonny insisted, which Kristina didn't buy. Sonny said Jason would find Sam, but Krissy pointed out Sam wouldn't be in this mess if Jason didn't work for Sonny. Sonny rationalized the kidnapping and then the women left to check on Molly.

At GH, Steve tracked Robin down to talk about gun totin' Jason threatening a patient and Robin doing nothing. Blas Robin claimed Jason hadn't hurt anyone and didn't think it would happen again. Steve took her word for it and moved on to asking for help dealing with Patrick. (Worst. Hospital. Ever.) Robin talked to Steve about her husband, revealing how they'd met and what drove Patrick. Over sodas, the duo continued to bond and talk about Patrick and Robin and their marriage. Steve praised Patrick's skill as a doctor, admitting he's just trying to find his way around GH. Robin noted that his grandfather had been "the heart and soul" of the hospital and then Steve walked her out.
