General Hospital Recaps
GH Week of January 3, 2011
Monday
Carly got a call from Morgan aboard the ski-trip bus, and when she heard screaming, she told Jason, "I think their bus crashed!" She redialed, but it went to voicemail. Jason got the same result from Michael's phone. "They crashed, Jason, I know it!" she cried. Brook Lynn and Nikolas arrived at Metro Court in time to see Carly and Jason in a frenzy as they set out to find the bus. Nik went to the hospital, where he told Patrick, Robin and Lisa about the suspected crash. Then he told Elizabeth, and comforted her — while Brook looked uncomfortable. In Jason's car, Carly lamented sending Olivia on the trip in her place. "I should have been with [Morgan]," she sighed.
At the crash scene, everyone had been ejected from the bus, and was lying scattered in the snow, unconscious, with various wounds. Steve revived first and woke up Cameron. Steve entrusted his nephew to a teen named Theresa and her friends. Maxie found Matt with a broken arm. While Steve tended to the limb, Maxie tried Matt's cell, but it didn't work. Michael, Molly, Kristina, Taylor and Alli came to, but Morgan was nowhere to be seen. Molly heard a noise from the bushes; it was the bus driver, but he died before Steve could help him. Alli found an emergency kit, and set about starting a fire. Steve and Matt discussed how the bus took a different route than planned, so no one will know where to look for them. Later, Michael and Taylor found Olivia struggling with abdominal pain, and brought her to the fire. Alli worried about mountain lions, which upset Kristina. Molly told her to shut up. So Krissy joined Michael to go check the bus for Morgan. Alas, he wasn't there. Alli heard a truck, and Michael set off to flag it down. But he was too late.
Alexis and Sonny found Theo enjoying a meal (and wine in particular) at Sonny's restaurant. Theo was eager to have everything comped (as Sonny's attorney in the wrongful death suit). Sonny bad-mouthed the late Aleksander, and Theo needled Sonny about making decisions about who deserves to live or die. Sonny told Theo that Brenda killed "that pig" to protect Dante. Theo claimed it was his job to look at all angles of a case. Suddenly, Carly called with word of the bus crash. Sonny and Alexis rushed to GH, but nobody had any information. Sonny tried to calm Alexis, who grew agitated.
Lucky was distressed to see Luke enter the squad room, seeking help finding a "friend" in the Czech Republic. His "pal" — a very bad man — had "The Three Sisters" — a group of flawless diamonds that Luke wants to steal, and hide the gems in Tracy's jewelry bag. Lucky found Salvador Tererro in Prague, but begged his father not to involve Tracy — just as she walked in. Luke claimed that he was asking Lucky to watch over a vulnerable Lulu. After they left, Siobhan approached, and Lucky confessed how his father is disappointed that he became a cop. Then a call came in about the bus crash, and he begged off going to dinner with her. She left and returned with sandwiches. When he received the passenger list for the bus, he noted, ruefully, "My son was on the bus."
When Dante and Brenda blithely arrived at the hospital, Patrick insisted he had no news about Dante's mother. Which made Dante wonder what's up. Back at the crash site, Matt and Maxie cuddled against the cold. Steve tried to keep Olivia talking and distracted, but she begged him to pass along the message to Dante that she loves him...
Tuesday
Patrick organized the Hub to be ready when the bus-crash victims arrive. Sonny tried to keep Alexis calm. Robin told Patrick that spending Christmas as a family was "perfect," and she was glad he is there, now, because she's worried about losing Maxie. Elizabeth called Lucky and apologized for letting Cameron go on the ski trip, but Lucky reassured her. Then Lucky coordinated efforts to locate the crash site. Mac arrived at PCPD, looking for an update, and Abby showed up at the hospital, looking for Michael.
On a Cedar Mountain road, Jason realized that he and Carly must be on the wrong side of the mountain, and turned around. They reassured each other that the boys would be fine. At the makeshift camp near the crash, Molly wondered why no one seemed to be looking for them. Maxie wished for a whiskey and bantered with Matt adorably, trying to convince him that she's bad luck in relationships. Steve tried to convince Olivia that she isn't dying. Meanwhile, Dante and Brenda sped to the scene, bickering about her always-sunny attitude toward Sonny, and his poor perspective. Now Dante regretted being mad at Olivia when he learned Sonny is his father.
Michael finally found Morgan, but the had a broken leg, so Michael tossed the lad over his shoulder and carried him back to camp, where Molly and Kristina were arguing. Michael fetched Steve from Olivia to set Morgan's leg. Krissy and Molly continued to fight. Then Michael and Molly set out for the road. Along the way, they found a cell phone, and when they arrived at the highway he got a signal and called 911. He was transferred to Lucky and was able to give him a casualty list before he lost the signal. Steve returned to Olivia and kept her talking. She related the story of saving up to buy a fancy sofa — one that young Dante stained with blood after a stupid stunt on his bike. "My baby's an adrenaline junkie, doc," she said. Maybe that's why he was scaring Brenda while driving like a maniac and singing his mother's praises as a disciplinarian and someone who sacrificed all for him. Lucky gave Carly and Jason the location of the wreck, and they raced to the scene. Dante and Brenda arrived first. Molly was happy to meet Brenda, who called back to Port Charles.
With the crash located, Lucky and Mac coordinated rescue efforts. Lucky admitted to Siobhan that he was devastated about even the possibility of Cam being hurt. Alexis wished that Sam was with Molly and Krissy. Robin told Sonny about Morgan's leg, but everyone else is okay. Then Brenda called Sonny, and he relayed to Robin that Maxie is fine. He thanked Brenda for being with his kids. Liz thanked Nik and Brook for supporting her. Robin and Patrick talked about Matt's broken arm, and how much work Patrick has ahead of him, taking on Matt's duties and trying to restore Robin's faith in him. Meanwhile, Lucky and Mac noted that the terrain near the crash is rough, and the winds are picking up. Sonny took a seat next to Abby, and was shocked to learn she was looking for her friend, Michael Corinthos.
Carly and Jason arrived at the scene and found Morgan and the others at the fire. Jason sent Krissy to the car with Taylor and Alli. Morgan was glad to see his mother. He recounted the crash, and how Michael had carried him to camp. Dante rushed to Olivia's side, and she weakly assured him she will be fine. Maxine and Matt brought Cameron out with them. When EMTs finally arrived to help Liv, Steve pointed out that Olivia hung on for Dante's sake. In the car with Molly and Brenda. Kristina complained of being cold. Then Brenda asked the girls to be in her wedding.
Wednesday
Olivia was brought into the ER with internal bleeding, so Patrick took her right into surgery. Lucky and Elizabeth were hugging when Matt and Maxie arrived with Cameron, who rushed into his parents’ arms. Lisa offered to reset Matt’s arm, but Maxie refused to let the “psycho” treat him. Jax got updated by Alexis and Sam. Sonny introduced himself to Abby as Michael’s father. He mentioned that he used to own a strip club himself, so he understands why she works there. And that Michael doesn’t need any bad influences. Jason, Michael, Molly and Brenda arrived, but Kristina was still with the EMTs, getting an IV drip to warm up. Robin told Dante that Li was already in surgery.
Later, Cameron got a clean bill of health, and asked Siobhan to tell a story -- much to Liz’s chagrin. Matt was happy to let orthopedic surgeon Lisa work on him. Outside the operating room, Dante bonded with Brenda. When Michael got there, he told Dante that all Liv talked about was him. “She’s a fighter,” Brenda theorized. Molly recounted seeing the bus driver die, and then Kristina was brought in with hypothermia. Taylor insisted that Alli get checked out, but she resisted. Dante hugged Michael to thank him for locating Olivia. When Morgan was brought in, Sonny demanded a doctor. Epiphany said they were all busy, so Dr. Terrell Jackson, who was standing nearby, offered to pitch in -- even though he isn’t even scheduled to interview at G.H. until tomorrow. Siobhan praised Lucky’s parenting skills. Lucky said being a father helps him to understand his own father; nobody’s perfect. Alli felt woozy in the hallway, but covered when she saw Michael, calling him “hero of the day.” Kristina was visited by her mother and sisters. Dr. Jackson entertained Morgan while showing him the X-rays of his broken bones. Then he reassured Sonny and Carly. Sonny asked Terrell to stay on as Morgan’s doctor. Lulu arrived to support Dante -- just as Patrick emerged from the ER with a grim look on his face. Patrick told Robin that he didn’t have the heart to tell Dante that Olivia’s odds are not good. Lisa reported that Matt will be able to operate again in about a month. He bantered with Maxie, then pulled Patrick aside to ask about Olivia. “Not good,” Patrick sighed. Dante and Lulu visited Liv, finding Steve already at her bedside. Steve and Lulu encouraged Dante to talk to his mother. Brenda praised Sonny’s parenting skills: “It’s amazing to see you with your kids,” she said. “They mean everything to me,” he replied. Alli visited Kristina, and noted that she has a headache. Alli suddenly grabbed her head and keeled over on Krissy’s bed. Sonny told Brenda he steers clear of Morgan when Jax is around. Robin reported that Krissy is in hysterics because her friend collapsed. Liz had to take Jake home, and Cam asked his father to sing a song.
Dante took his mother’s hand, and acknowledged that now he understands what he put her through every time he got hurt as a kid. He appreciated the sacrifices she made raising him. “I don’t think I can thank you enough for that,” he whispered. “I love you, Mom.” Patrick and Steve operated on Alli. Kristina told Sonny she feels responsible because she pushed Alli on Michael, and that’s the only reason she went on the trip. Sonny reassured her that she can’t feel guilty for stuff she had no control over. Liz needed to tend to Cam, so she handed Jake to Sam and Jason. Jason bonded with his son while playing with toy motorcycles, while Sam watched.
In the closing montage, Sonny watched over a sleeping Kristina; Alli died on the operating table; Dante continued to watch over his mother, supported by Lulu; Lucky tucked in Cameron as Liz saw Lucky hugged by Siobhan. Abby finally located Michael, and as they embraced, Carly looked stunned. Jason enjoyed playing with his son.
Thursday
Steve introduced Patrick to Terrell Jackson, the pediatric surgeon who pitched in after the bus crash. Then Steve introduced him to Lisa, and they exchanged glances. Patrick was upset over losing Ali last night, but Robin helpfully reminded him that he's not God. He asked her on a date to make up for New Year's Eve. She declined -- for now, hinting that he may have a chance in the future. Later, Terrell confessed he wants to work with Steve, who has a great reputation from Memphis. Steve offered him a trial position. Terrell asked Robin to show him "the lay of the land" and whom to avoid. But Robin didn't feel comfortable pointing out trouble-makers. Patrick, however was willing to joke about Steve and Epiphany and Robin. Robin needled him about his God complex and willingness to operate on anyone. Terrell made the connection and remarked on them being married, which upset Robin, who fled. After apologizing to Patrick, Terrell asked Lisa to show him the lab. Alone, he asked Lisa why she wanted him to apply for the job. "I want you to seduce Robin Scorpio," she told him.
Theo and Diane discussed Brenda's state of mind when she killed Aleksander. Spinelli burst in to talk to Diane about writing, but Theo had little patience for him. Later, Spin called Diane a talented wordsmith, and offered a job: writing a book about "Jackal P.I." She burst into laughter.
Lulu brought some food to Dante at Olivia's bedside. He recalled climbing a fence as a child and being knocked out. When he woke up, his mother was at his bedside -- and she scolded him. As payback, he intends to "be all over" her when she wakes up. Later, Johnny stopped by, and Dante offered to let him sit with his ex. Johnny declined, figuring that she would prefer to see Dante when she wakes up. "It's a good thing we don't take our mothers for granted," Johnny said, and left. Back at her bedside, Dante noted that Johnny thinks Dante doesn't appreciate his mother enough. "I love you, mom," he whispered. And then she woke up!
Michael visited Morgan, who thanked his big brother for rescuing him. Sonny visited Kristina, who still blamed herself for Ali's death. Sonny tried to reassure her. "It hurts to be the reason that someone dies," she said. He admitted he knows what it feels like to feel guilty when someone dies. He cited Stone's passing, noting, "You never forget." He urged her to remember Ali in a way that doesn't tear her heart out. In the corridor, Theo asked Sonny about his son and fiancee both being accused in a wrongful-death lawsuit. "This whole killing smells of collusion and cover-up," Theo sniffed, suggesting that Dante used his badge to hide Brenda's murder. Sonny warned Theo to leave Dante alone while he sits vigil. "You and I have more in common than you realize," Theo growled, ominously. Michael met Abby at Kelly's. She felt bad about talking him into going on the trip. He admitted he had been thinking about her, and was glad to see her. She mentioned that she ran into his father and told him they are friends. Michael said his father just wants him to be happy. Later, Sonny and Carly compared notes about Morgan and Kristina. And then Carly complained about Abby hugging Michael in the ER. Carly noted that Abby is 10 years older, and "serious about our son." She worried that Abby is after money. Sonny said he knows Abby is a dancer but doesn't mind; however, he isn't happy about Michael hanging out at Vaughn's. Shocked, Carly declared, "This is not happening!"
Friday
Carly was furious to learn from Sonny that Abby was a stripper. Sonny tried to calm her but that proved an impossible task. Carly didn't want her impressionable son to go down the wrong path. After having it out with her ex, Carly went to see Sam and yelled at her for introducing Michael to a stripper. Sam stated that Abby was a good person and just doing it to work her way through school but Carly didn't care. When she then found out that Michael had originally asked Sam for help in meeting a girl, Carly went through the roof. Sam stated she did not regret what she did. Later, Carly went straight to Abby and ordered her to stay away from her son.
At G.H., Dante was thrilled that his mother woke up. Olivia credited Steven for keeping her alive on the mountain, Just then, Steven entered to check on her. She made a date with Steven to cook him dinner once she was released form the hospital. Steven happily accepted.
Theo went to GH and talked with Robin about his malpractice suit. Robin made a valid argument regarding his issues and Theo agreed to drop the suit. Steven and the staff were greatly relieved.
At Kelly's, Molly was upset that she wasn't doing as well in school as she usually does. Michael reminded her they just survived a horrific accident and offered to help her study. They then admitted that Ali's death really shook everyone up, and it was okay to be upset.
Brenda tried to make wedding plans, but was disappointed to receive no help from Jason or Spinelli. Later, Dante arrived at Theo's request. He gathered them to discuss the wrongful death suit, which upset Brenda.
Terrell, the new doctor, was a big hit with Robin, as she gave him a guided tour of G.H. Lisa seemed pleased. Later, Lisa pulled Terrell aside and reminded him that he was there as part of her plan to seduce Robin away from Patrick. Terrell then stated that he wanted something in return — Lisa. She stated that if he succeeded in his mission, she would go to bed with him. Terrell was pleased.
