General Hospital Recaps
GH Week of January 28, 2008
Monday
Maxie screamed bloody murder when she found Coop's body hanging from the
ceiling in his room at Kelly's. Mike and Jason rushed to her aid. Jason had
to deny her pleas to cut Coop down, since it was now a crime scene. Mike
brought a hysterical Maxie downstairs, where they broke the news to Lulu and
Logan. Mac arrived and questioned Maxie, who said she and Coop talked about
going away together. Mac asked those in attendance who was the last person
to speak to Coop. "I was," Logan admitted. Logan lied, though, stating that
he talked to Coop about borrowing money. He didn't mention the stolen
forensic report. Jason told Spinelli he was skeptical about the suicide.
Maxie refused to believe it either. Harper entered with the stolen report,
linking Coop to Georgie's murder. "He's the tex-message killer," Mac
declared. "No!" responded Maxie. Mac declined her request to ride in the
ambulance with Coop's body. Lulu was shocked that Coop was the killer. Jason
wasn't so sure and told Spinelli that just before he died, Coop tried to
call him but he missed the call.
At the Spencer house, Elizabeth was not happy to find Sam babysitting Jake
and demanded her son back. Liz became flushed and asked Sam to leave. Sam
suggested they call a truce but Liz was not interested. Sam told Liz that
she was falling in love with Lucky. Liz stated that Sam was not capable of
that emotion. Sam caught Liz when she collapsed. Lucky arrived and Sam
surmised Liz popped a stitch in her leg. He raced her to the hospital while,
to Liz's chagrin, Sam volunteered to watch Jake.
At G.H., the nurses ogled Patrick's pal, Ian, who joined the staff. Patrick
queried why Ian didn't go through with his ambition for plastic surgery.
Patrick stated that after working with cancer survivors, he opted for
oncology. Patrick was impressed.
Kate saw Sonny at his office for the first time since she turned down his
marriage proposal. "I'm over it," he told her. "And I'm finally over you."
Sonny refused to hear her explanation. He told Kate she did him a favor and
said he never wanted to see her again. A crushed Kate was about to leave
when she said, "I'm not leaving. You had your say and I'm going to have
mine." She accused Sonny of being in love with Connie, not her. She asked
what they could do but Sonny coldly stated they could prevent history from
repeating itself a third time. "Doesn't Couture have a deadline," he asked.
Kate sighed and walked out, defeated.
On the docks, Michael bought a gun off some street punks. They pointed out
that he'd need bullets, "10 bucks a pop, no pun intended," noted the chief
punk. Michael said he didn't have more money so he'd have to wait.
In Martha's Vineyard, Ric chatted with Marianna about his fears tied to
letting go of the past. She was an encouraging ear for him to vent.
Tracy showed up at the hospital demanding to speak to Monica. She brought a
lawyer, who served her. "I'm suing you for malpractice," barked Tracy,
citing her bad experience in the O.R. when she couldn't finish Luke's
surgery. Monica was incredulous. Alan appeared as Tracy's conscience but
couldn't prevent her from saying that maybe Monica was to blame for Alan's
death, too. Monica slapped Tracy and got into the elevator. Tracy followed
and a catfight ensued, much to the amusement of the nursing staff. Once the
dust settled, Monica tore up the subpoena and Epiphany ordered the nurses
back to work.
As Trevor discussed the possibility of Claudia showing up, Johnny
interrupted and inquired about the discussion. Trevor chastised Johnny for
destroying their ship and their alliance with Moreau.... Half a world away,
a woman who loves the color red picked up an airline ticket from Milan to
Port Charles.
And, according to the promo at the end of today's show: "In three days,
Sarah brown returns to GENERAL HOSPITAL."
Tuesday
At the Quartermaine mansion, Tracy was outraged that Monica was throwing
Tracy out of the family house. Her conscience, Alan, told Tracy that by
suing Monica for malpractice, she was asking for this. Tracy was insulted
further that Edward sided with Monica. "How could you?" she asked. Edward
reminded her about forging Alan’s will and denying him his heart medication
back in 1980. Tracy stormed out in a huff.
At the hospital, the nurses were keeping a close eye on the new doctor, Ian.
"The last thing this hospital needs is another Patrick Drake," bemoaned
Epiphany. Later, Patrick saw Ian ask out Leyla. At Jake’s, as the girls
dished on the doc, Ian said he knows that Leyla only said yes to make
Patrick jealous. "I’m sorry," she copped. "I don’t mind," he smiled back.
The girls toasted Leyla for sticking it to Patrick.
At the PCPD, Alexis, Mac and Mayor Floyd held a press conference stating
that the text-message killer has killed for the last time. They stated that
the culprit was Cooper Barrett, who committed suicide and the case is
closed. Jason and Jerry both watched from the back. Afterward, the press
badgered Jason with questions, while Jerry expressed doubt about Coop’s
culpability to Alexis. She then hinted that Skye had left Ric Alcazar’s
piers before leaving town, piquing Jerry’s interest.
In the hospital, Elizabeth suffered nightmares of the fire. She awoke with a
start to find Sam standing there. Sam apologized for her actions because she
stated that she truly cares for Lucky. Liz spat back that if Sam thinks Liz
would ever let her be alone with her kids, "You are out of your mind." Sam
begged Liz to let it go but she threatened to tell Lucky what Sam did,
unaware that Lucky was listening outside in the hall.
At Kelly’s, Maxie insisted Coop isn’t the killer, while Lulu assured Logan
that there is nothing going on between her and Johnny. Daniel, the creepy
bus boy, agreed to cover her shift so Logan could take Lulu out. Spinelli
expressed his concern for Maxie not grieving. She countered by asking for
his help in locating the real killer. She then brought him to Georgie’s room
to say that he owes it to Georgie. Spinelli agreed but as they put their
heads together to evaluate the case, they couldn’t stop arguing. However,
they did agree that Logan was a possible suspect.
At the Lake House, Alexis returned home and was startled while pouring
herself a glass of wine. It was Jerry, warning her to be more careful. He
then quizzed her about Ric’s whereabouts. "I know why you’re really here,"
she said. "This is about the piers. I should have known you had an ulterior
motive." He asked why he couldn’t just be attracted to her and they were
about to kiss when Sam walked in.
Tracy went to Metro Court, where her credit card had been cut off and she
learned her assets have been frozen.... Johnny showed up on Logan and Lulu’s
date at Jake’s, and told Logan that if he and Lulu don’t work out, it won’t
be because of him.... After Epiphany pointed out to Patrick that he’s got
competition in Ian, Patrick snapped at Robin over a patient’s test results.
When he accused her of being so obsessed with having a baby that it’s
clouding her judgment, she blurted out that she’s pregnant.... Lucky showed
up in Liz’s room and demanded to know what Sam was keeping from him.
Wednesday
At the nurses' station, Patrick was stunned when Robin announced that she
was pregnant. "Your joking," he stated. "Do you think I would joke about
something like that?" she asked. He offered congratulations and asked why
she hadn't told him sooner. She said she wanted to but couldn't bring
herself to break the news. He said he understood and kissed her on the head.
Just then, the staffers wandered over to share in the happy news. Leyla
wasn't pleased. Epiphany congratulated Robin and Cassius was in awe that Dr.
Drake was now off the market. "Wha--?" mumbled Patrick. When Patrick asked
her, she quickly stated no, he wasn't the father, and implied that she'd
been to the sperm bank. Robin walked off and Ian said he was shocked — that
no one at G.H. took Robin up on her offer months ago to inseminate her.
"This is a hospital, people," barked Epiphany, as everyone got back to work.
Jax arrived home from his trip to Hawaii and Carly covered her man with
kisses. She was enthusiastic about her chances of getting pregnant and told
Jax about all the fertility tricks they could incorporate into their
lovemaking. "Isn't that romantic," he sighed. Carly slipped into some
lingerie and threw Jax down on the couch but he said he couldn't. Jax said
he wanted to participate and pulled a Hawaiian fertility idol out of his
travel bag. He then explained a complicated fertility ritual which Carly did
not find appealing. She then realized he was pulling her leg about the whole
ritual thing. They laughed and he said all they needed to do to get pregnant
was concentrate on loving each other. They then made love in front of the
fire.
At the lake house, Sam confessed to Alexis her growing feelings for Lucky.
They lamented about their bad choices with men over a glass of wine. Sam
told her mother that she wants to be more real with Lucky. Alexis encouraged
her to tell him whatever it is she's keeping from him. Kate arrived and Sam
decided to duck out and take her mom's advice. Kate then confessed that she
stopped by to seek insight on Sonny. Shortly after, Diane stopped by,
surprised to see Kate back in town. When Alexis told Diane that Sonny
proposed to Kate, Diane asked for a double of whatever they were drinking.
Diane advised Kate to run from Corinthos but Alexis was a little more
sympathetic. After hearing their points of view, Kate said she knew what she
needed to do and left.
In her hospital room, Lucky demanded the truth from Liz about what Sam was
keeping from him. She tried to duck his inquiries but he refused to let it
go. "Tell me," he insisted, assuring her he wasn't going to relapse back to
his pill popping. Liz said she doesn't want to take away his recent
happiness but when he continued to press, she reluctantly spilled that Sam
watched Jake being kidnapped and did nothing, then hired the thugs who
menaced Liz and the kids in the park. He was devastated and stormed out. On
the docks, Lucky came across a drug dealer and after roughing him up, had
the opportunity to indulge in pills but didn't.
When Sonny met Jason at the coffeehouse, he wanted to know why Johnny was
still alive while Jason wanted to know where Sonny has been for the past
week. Their arguing gave way to Jason informing Sonny that he caught Michael
going after the loaded gun Sonny left in his desk. Sonny was upset and
distraught to hear that news. Jason said Michael's not a kid anymore and
Sonny needs to talk with him. Then, Kate showed up and Jason ducked out.
Kate said she thinks she knows how they can find a common ground. She
pointed out that they both love his kids. "They're a reflection of the best
in you," she smiled. He spat back that she was a phony.
Leyla ignored Patrick and smiled at Ian, which Patrick caught.... Lucky
returned home and saw through the window that Sam had a romantic evening
planned.... Liz stopped sketching and cried.... Kate was crushed when Sonny
coldly told her to go back to her phony life in New York and to never
contact him again.
Thursday
At the Q mansion, Monica read about Coop's demise in the newspaper and
continued to drink. Edward tried to dissuade her but Luke's return
interrupted their talk. "I'm home," Luke bellowed. "Not anymore you're not,"
replied Monica. Luke was stunned to learn that Monica kicked Tracy out. Lulu
was thrilled to see her dad home and said that if he goes, so does she. As
Luke and Lulu caught up, Tracy entered. Monica called Tracy, "A litigious
cow" and Alice offered to, "Take out the trash." Tracy asked Luke how he
felt, then punched him. She took off her ring and dropped it in his drink,
then left.
Nikolas went to Jason and asked if he believed Coop was the killer. After
Jason had to leave the room, Emily appeared to Nik and encouraged him to try
and remember the night of the accident. He began reciting what he said that
night and Jason returned, wondering if Nik had lost it. Nik told Jason that
he can't remember that night but he now believes that he didn't kill Emily.
Jason agreed that Nik didn't do it. Jason expressed doubt that Coop was the
culprit.
Lucky went back to Liz's hospital room to kvetch about Sam. They opened up
and discussed their past history. Liz admitted that she knows Sam loves him;
he said that just makes the whole situation worse. He returned to Sam at the
house, who wondered where he'd been. Sam said she had some things to tell
him and pulled Lucky into a kiss. After they broke, he confronted her with
the truth.
Michael listened in on Carly telling Jax she knew Coop was the killer and
she should have killed him when she had the chance. Jax had to run off and
when he left, Carly still locked the door behind him. Carly then told
Michael the Leticia and Emily's killer was dead, but she was disturbed by
his strange attitude. Later, Jason came by and said he believes the killer
is still out there. Michael eavesdropped from upstairs.
Sonny ran into a mystery woman (Who we all know as the original Carly, Sarah
Brown) at a bar. Said woman (who we'll call Claudia, which is her name but
we're not supposed to know it yet) bought Sonny a drink. In turn, Sonny
slipped her his hotel key and left. In his room, Sonny laid back and sighed,
convinced that the woman was not going to show. He then flashed back to his
proposal to Kate. Just as he was about to leave the room, Claudia appeared
in the doorway. He chided her for keeping him waiting, then they made out
and he slammed the door.
Kate ran into creepy busboy Daniel on the street, who mentioned that he
likes to take pictures of women. Luckily, Jax wandered by and he fled. Jax
and Kate talked and she sighed that despite their friendship, she doesn't
know her at all. She confessed that she hurt Sonny and he may never get over
it. He sang her praises and she broke into tears. "I'm a complete fraud,"
she replied. Kate started to open up, then swore Jax to secrecy before she
continued — and said he especially can't tell Carly.
Nik went to see Liz at G.H. and Emily told him it's time for him to
reconnect with his life. Nadine watch Nikolas as he talked to himself.
Friday
Lucky was furious at Sam for endangering Jake and vowed she’d never get near
him again. He exploded with anger and thanked her for being yet another
woman who lied to him. He then kicked her out of his house. Later, Sam
called Lucky and stated that she’d gotten a text from the killer, but Lucky
didn’t believe her. After Lucky hung up on her, Sam was attacked by a man in
black. Sam ran and when he caught up to her, she elbowed he masked man,
kicked him and was able to escape.
On the docks, Lulu told Logan about her woes with her dad. He attempted to
seduce her but his constant questions about Johnny turned her off. She
advised him to concentrate on, “Being the best Logan he could be.” When
Logan persisted to badger her, Lulu left. She went to vent to her brother,
who stared out the window blankly. She asked what was wrong but he didn't
want to talk about it. He did say that he hopes his little sister does find
true love one day.
At G.H., Tracy retaliated against Monica and informed her that her surgical
privileges have been revoked until the hearing and mentioned that she knows
Monica has been hitting the sauce hard lately.
Jason told Carly that he thinks the text-message killer is still on the
streets as Michael eavesdropped. Jason left and later, Carly told Michael
she had to run out. After Carly closed the door, Michael revealed the gun he
bought earlier in the week.
Kate confessed to Jax about her true identity as Connie Falconeri. He was
surprised to hear about her history with Sonny as a teenager and even more
surprised to hear that she ran away from Corinthos’s proposal.
In her hospital room, Elizabeth was haunted by nightmares of the fire and
couldn’t sleep. She phoned Jason and asked to meet him at the safe house.
Robin and Patrick tried to talk her out of checking out of the hospital but
Liz was adamant about going. Before leaving, she advised Robin to be
truthful regarding her pregnancy, stating that she’ll just get into trouble
later if she’s not honest now.
As Trevor tried to locate the missing Claudia, she and Sonny had passionate
sex in his hotel room. Afterward, she was able to determine that he was
sleeping with her to get over a woman he loved. She added that she had no
problem with that.
Trevor informed Johnny that Anthony had taken a turn for the worse and he
might want to prepare himself for the inevitable. Johnny visited his dad,
who stated that he doesn’t trust the nurses and demanded a new one. Just
then, Claudia appeared in the room. “Hello, nursie,” he cracked. “Hello,
Daddy,” she replied.
On the dark and rainy night, behind the wheels of their cars, Carly made a
call on her cell, Liz started to fall asleep and Monica drank from a flask.
Meanwhile, the killer continued to dog Sam. She was able to punch him in the
face and run away but unfortunately, she ran into approaching headlights on
the road.
