General Hospital Recaps
GH Week of January 10, 2011
Sonny advised Michael to steer clear of the strip club — and Abby, pointing out that Carly suspects Abby's motives, and is desperate to protect him after the bus crash. Sonny admitted Michael is old enough to make his own choices, but he'll have Michael's back if he's needed. Meanwhile, Carly cornered Abby at Kelly's and offered to pay her to leave town, but the stripper refused. They quarreled over who really cares about Michael. "Michael can't afford one mistake, and you are a mistake," Carly charged. Abby started to leave, running into Michael, who asked his mother what she said to Abby. She admitted trying to buy off Abby, calling her a bad influence. He said lots of people call his father and Jason bad influences. And anyway, Abby understands him and is the best thing that happened to him since he woke up from the coma. He declared his intention to be Abby's friend, and if Carly tries to interfere again, he will shut his mother out. "Leave us alone!" Michael warned, and stormed out.
Jason asked Spinelli to do a background check on Theo. Diane bristled at an illegal inquiry into Theo's past, calling him the best defense attorney available (besides herself). Jason also told Spinelli he should help Brenda plan the wedding. Elsewhere, Theo warned Brenda and Dante that she is demonstrating no remorse for the "murder" she committed, suggesting she could be seen as hiding behind celebrity while he is shielded by his badge. Dante protested that Theo doesn't appear to be on their side, so Theo mockingly promised to handle Brenda with kid gloves. After Theo left, Brenda worried about saying the wrong thing. Dante pointed out Theo doesn't know about Aleksander. When Jason returned to the penthouse, Brenda asked him to give her away. He agreed, making her ecstatic. Later, a jeweler brought Sonny a selection of rings; he was looking for something "unexpected, but inevitable." He went to Brenda, who told him she got Jason to give her away. He revealed he wanted Jason to be his best man, but deferred to her. She suggested Feb. 18 for the wedding. Spinelli stuck his head in and said he has hired wedding planner Carol Chang to plan the big day. Later, Carly went to the penthouse to complain to Jason about Abby. Jason pointed out that Michael is finally reaching out to someone, but Carly is worried that she cannot help her son. Meanwhile, Abby took the stage as "Candy" — with Michael in the audience.
Lucky went to Jake's to invite Siobhan to see a band tonight. But she claimed to have other plans. He questioned her and she got angry over getting "the third degree." He mentioned that he caught her in a lie: She hasn't been speaking to her sister, Fiona. Siobhan said an old boyfriend has been calling, and she's afraid he'll do something desperate unless she talks to him tonight. Terrell and Lisa entered, and he revealed he knows her favorite drink (from back in Houston). They discussed the plan for him to seduce Robin, and what will happen when folks eventually realize they have a past connection. He reminded her of their photo on a float. When Patrick entered, Lisa immediately told him that she and Terrell have just discovered that they lived in Houston at the same time. Terrell left to prep for an operation in the morning. Patrick said he has one too, and he's booked Elizabeth, the best surgical nurse, and pointedly told Terrell, "She's not available." After Lucky left, the Balkan called Siobhan to remind her "no one is more disposable than you." Next, Dante arrived to meet with Ronnie, and asked him to look into Theo. Ronnie left when Lulu arrived. Dante told her there's "something off" about Theo. Dante suggested Brenda will go back to Rome, but Lulu pointed out she's marrying Sonny. When he doubted the wedding will happen. Lulu asked if he has feelings for Brenda. Siobhan went to Diane's office, but but found only Theo. She introduced herself and mentioned a problem with her tourist visa. Theo volunteered to arrange a work visa, pro bono. He asked why she's in town, wondering if a man is involved. Pretending not to know her, he asked if there are any questionable associates or activities or arrests in her past. Just then, Lucky arrived, and was surprised to see Siobhan with Theo.
After an appointment, Dr. Lee told Sam there's an experimental procedure that could address her fertility problems: fertility reconstruction. Sam said she and Jason aren't really in a position to be parents.
Carly went to Jason for answers about Abby. Jason told Carly about Michael's fight with one of Abby's "fans." Carly then expressed concern about Michael violating his parole, but Jason advised Carly to respect Michael's choices.
At the penthouse, the wedding planner Spinelli contacted arrived. The planner, Carol, was greatly disappointed to learn that Brenda was marrying Sonny and not film star Murphy Sinclair. "Sonny Corinthos? The gangster?" she asked. The ladies squabbled but Brenda liked the sample photos Carol brought. They then discussed the dress, and Carol was shocked to learn the wedding date was February 18 — 2011! Brenda did not appreciate Carol's attitude, but just as the wedding planner was about to leave, Sonny stopped her, and his speech about pleasing Brenda won Carol over. She agreed to take the job. Sonny whisked Brenda away and gave her two diamond rings. They kissed.
Michael sneaked into the strip club to watch Abby perform. Abby was shocked to see Michael's pained face in the audience. Michael couldn't take it and ran out. An upset Michael went to vent to Jason. The incident brought up memories of his prison tormentor, Carter.
At Jake's, Lulu grilled Dante about his relationship with Brenda. "You've changed since you started guarding her," Lulu pointed out. Dante stated that he's not a quitter and he needs to finish the job. Dante then successfully managed to lighten the mood.
Lucky caught Siobhan talking with Theo. They quickly covered, saying Siobhan was asking about a Green Card. Theo suggested the two get married but Lucky wasn't buying the story. Siobhan thanked Theo for his bad advice and left with Lucky. Outside, Lucky smiled that it might not be a bad idea. Later, Siobhan met again with Theo. He complained that she's not giving him enough information. She assured him that no one suspects he's The Balkan. Theo warned Siobhan that failure was not an option.
Abby bumped into Sam and expressed her concern for Michael. They also compared notes about Carly. Sam asked Abby what she felt for Michael. Abby replied that Michael made her feel special and she refused to walk away from that. Sam gave Abby her full support and they hugged. Sam left, and a man named Brandon approached Abby. "I missed you baby," he stated.
At Jake's, Ethan and Maya discussed getting a new place to live. Maya wondered if Ethan wanted out of their marriage but he insisted he didn't. They both agreed that they were in it for the money and feelings were not a part of the equation.
At the penthouse, Jason and Sam compared notes on Michael. Jason said it was good that Michael was talking about prison; Sam countered that Abby has real feelings for Michael.... Abby texted Michael and when they met, she stressed that she didn't want to lose his friendship because of her job. Michael vowed he wouldn't walk out on her. They kissed.
After making love, Sonny dreamed about his wedding to Brenda. Suddenly, Brenda screamed and disappeared, and Sonny woke up with a jolt.
Jax heard on the news that a body pulled from the harbor might be Jerry
Jacks and was visibly upset. Jason, however, was skeptical of the news.
Brenda went to check on Jax. She thanked him for his friendship and invited
him to her wedding. Jax declined, saying he believed Brenda was making a
mistake marrying Sonny.
Ethan arrived at Johnny’s doorstep beaten and bruised. Ethan told Johnny
that he got in over his head with a high stakes poker game, and then
confessed that he’s not good enough for Maya and she’d be better off without
him.... At G.H., Steven talked Patrick into taking a tricky surgery with
Lisa. Johnny then showed up and whisked Lisa away for their “date.” Before
leaving, Maya asked Johnny if he’d heard from Ethan; Johnny lied and said he
had not. Johnny took Lisa to the penthouse to treat Ethan. Johnny barked
that Ethan had better shut his trap and let Lisa treat him, and then he
reminded Lisa that he was still in possession of her incriminating syringe.
Johnny ordered Lisa to check on Ethan once a day for a week; she fumed but
agreed. After Lisa left, Johnny advised Ethan to man up with Maya. Just
then, Maya knocked on the door.
Steven was concerned about Elizabeth’s financial predicament but she assured
her brother that she was okay. Liz then left work to surprise Nikolas with a
visit from Aiden. At Wyndemere, Nik and Brook Lynn had just returned from a
night out on the town in New York. It was clear they enjoyed each other’s
company. The tired duo took a nap together on the couch. Liz showed up with
the baby and said she hoped she wasn't interrupting. When Nik left the room,
Liz told Brook that since it was “family day,” her presence wasn’t
necessary. Brook agreed, but she accused Liz of manipulating Nikolas. “I
think you’re a little bit jealous,” Liz sniffed. Once Brook left, Elizabeth
told Nikolas that she missed him.
At the lake house, Molly wasn’t quite herself as she got ready to accept an
award for heroism after the bus crash. Molly flashed back to the accident
and threw a hissy fit, stating that she felt sick and didn’t want to go. A
perplexed Alexis told Molly that she didn’t have to go if she didn’t want
to. Alexis called Viola to take care of Molly and headed out to work.
Kristina then told Molly that she’s a bad liar ‹ and she didn’t believe her
sister was really sick.
Diane picked the lock to Spinelli's office and awaited his return. Once
Spinelli arrived, they began working on his book. Spinelli had a
black-and-white visual of the adventure he was “recalling.” Lucky
interrupted their work session and asked Spinelli for help confirming
whether or not Jerry was really dead. Diane was curious as to Siobhan’s
plans if The Balkan is indeed dead: would she stay in the States with Lucky?
Jason went to see Siobhan and asked her more questions about whether Jerry
could be The Balkan. Siobhan recounted her last meeting with Jerry and got
angry with Jason’s questioning. After he left, Siobhan made a frantic phone
call. Later, when Lucky returned, Siobhan complained about Jason acting like
she had something to hide. Lucky broke the news that the body in the harbor
wasn’t Jerry’s. Lucky added that he didn’t want things between them to end.
Siobhan then led Lucky into the bedroom; her cell phone rang.
Brenda was upset that no one was supporting her wedding to Sonny.... Patrick
voiced his suspicions about Lisa and Johnny’s “relationship” to Lisa.
Patrick deduced that Lisa had handed off the incriminating syringe to Johnny
and he was holding it over her head.
As Sonny recalled his nightmare about the wedding, Diane arrived with a pre-nup.
Spinelli showed up at Lucky's with a lead about The Balkan. Spinelli didn't want to talk in front of Siobhan, but she insisted. After Spinelli left, Lulu arrived and Siobhan made a quick exit.
As Michael spoke with Dante at the PCPD, Abby entered. Ronnie informed them that Abby was brought in for prostitution. Dante warned Michael to watch his heart and his head. Dante went to see Abby and asked if she'd been lying to Michael. Abby said she was not taking money for sex. Dante let Michael see Abby, then found out from Ronnie that the sting came from an anonymous tip.
Maya showed up at Johnny's penthouse and confessed to him that she loved being with Ethan. Out of sight, Ethan stood silent, listening to her. Johnny suggested they have an honest conversation. Ethan then revealed himself and expressed his emotions to Maya. They kissed.
At G.H., Patrick told Lisa he figured out the syringe theory. Just then, Robin came by to lead new doctor Terrell on rounds. Later, Patrick made it clear that he was jealous of Terrell.
Carly arrived at the penthouse to talk about Michael. Brenda wanted to know what was going on. The girls got into it, and Jason said nothing. Carly went to Spinelli's office and ran into Diane. Carly wanted sympathy; Diane offered Carly tissues. Carly countered that she wanted answers regarding Dante and Brenda.
In the confessional. Theo presented Siobhan with blackmail material. Theo made plans to grab Brenda at her upcoming wedding… Lulu tried to counsel Lucky about falling for Siobhan…. Abby was released. Michael offered to drive her home but Abby declined… Patrick went to see Johnny and asked for the syringe…. Sonny asked Dante to be his best man. Dante said no. Just then, Brenda entered.
Brenda walked in just as Dante turned down Sonny's request to be his best man. Sonny explained that it was Michael's idea, and Sonny was hoping this
would take care of the bad blood between them. Brenda suggested that Dante
do it for the sake of his siblings. Dante eventually agreed.
Spinelli told Jason about the book he's working on with Diane. At The Jackal's office, Diane didn't
believe Carly's claim that Brenda gave birth to Sonny's grandchild. Carly
claimed her story was true — and that Sonny and Brenda's wedding wasn't
going to happen. Carly revealed that Spinelli dug up the proof and she
showed Diane the letter that Dante signed, giving up his paternal rights to
Brenda's baby. Diane was stunned and warned Carly she was playing with fire.
Jason busted in and demanded to see “the paper.” Carly thought he was
referring to her proof about Brenda's baby, but Jason was only concerned
about Spinelli's book. Diane told Jason they were doing him justice and he
shouldn't worry. Jason remained unmoved. Diane left, and Jason warned Carly
to knock off whatever she was up to regarding Brenda. Carly kissed Jason on
the cheek and left.
Brook Lynn showed up at Lucky's and reported that Elizabeth was manipulating
Nikolas and she also wanted Brook out of the picture. Just then, Nikolas
showed up and asked Brook what she was doing there. Brook came clean about
her feelings regarding Liz, then left. Afterward, Lucky advised Nikolas to
let Brook Lynn know how he truly feels about her. Nik then asked Lucky if
he'd be bothered if Nik started things up with Liz again. Lucky asked to be
kept out of it.
Patrick confronted Johnny about Lisa but Johnny denied having the
incriminating syringe. Patrick suspected Johnny was blackmailing Lisa;
Johnny accused him of having an overactive imagination. Patrick warned
Johnny to watch his back where Lisa was concerned.
At G.H., Terrell filled in Robin about his past, and his best pal who died
from AIDS. Robin told Terrell about Stone. Afterward, Terrell went to Lisa
and was angry that she didn't mention that Robin was HIV positive,
considering that she wants them to sleep together. Terrell wondered what
else Lisa might be keeping from him. Later, Terrell saw Lisa with Johnny and
asked Epiphany for details about the nature of their relationship. Johnny
asked Lisa if she wanted a present and showed her the syringe in his pocket.
Siobhan squirmed as The Balkan pressed her for more information. She begged
to be out of “this devil's bargain,” and begged for him to release her
kidnapped sister. The Balkan ordered her to stay in Lucky's bed and let him
know every move Lucky makes where Brenda was concerned. Siobhan then went to
Lucky's and said she wanted to break up.
At his office, Theo was looking at a photo of his son with Brenda when Diane
entered. Theo dropped the photo and chastised her for not knocking. Brenda
walked in, which distracted Diane from the photo. Brenda was there to talk
about the case. Diane told Brenda she could trust Theo implicitly. Brenda
recounted her and Dante's run in with Banovic. Theo then asked Brenda about
Sonny asked Carly if Morgan could be in the wedding, then he dared her to
present the bomb that she's been sitting on.... Dante brought Jason proof
that DNA tests showed that Jerry and Aleksander were not related, hence
Jerry was not The Balkan.
