GH Week of February 18, 2008
Monday
As Nikolas suffered a seizure, he relived the night of Emily's murder, recalling that he was knocked down by
the real killer — but couldn't make out a face. Dr. Devlin arrived to treat Nik, over Patrick and Elizabeth's objections. He ordered PET and MRI scans, and then climbed up on his soap box to scold Patrick for not only not acting in Nik's best interests, but
violating the basic tenets of medicine. At Kelly's, Spinelli looked at online photos of Claudia, which angered Johnny. Jason explained he asked for research
on Claudia because she called the meeting of the Five Families. Spinelli explained his suspicions just as Maxie arrived to declare Logan the TMK. Meanwhile, Lulu accused Logan: "You are the Text Message Killer!" He grabbed her to calm her down (good plan!), then
demanded she explain why she suspects him. She babbled about Spinelli and Maxie's plot that Coop was on the real killer's trail so Logan killed him. He said his dog tags ended up at Coop's because Coop found them in the park. He claimed he was hating life and threw away his tags. Coop argued with Georgie that night and she scratched him. Coop didn't think anyone would believe him, so he stole the DNA results. Lulu continued to accuse he threw something and raged at her. He dismissed the ski mask, and said he used to tinker with engines back in the desert and wanted to open a garage here in Port Charles. However, he was jealous of rich Johnny. He said he saw her in Johnny's arms. She
said they "didn't do anything." Logan confessed he was going to use the mask and gloves to frame Johnny, but she wasn't buying. Suddenly, Johnny demanded Logan open the door. At Kelly's, Maxie explained the liver pill and how it could make the killer smell sweet. Jason got a call from Liz, who told him about Nik's seizure. Nik, meanwhile, told Emily, "I didn't kill you." Nadine appeared and asked who did. He told her
someone hit him, "a man," but he couldn't see a face. Emily appeared, and Nadine told him to ask Emily what she saw. Mike asked if anyone saw Daniel. Spinelli once again imagined Maxie in a '40s film noir. Snapping out of it, he wondered how Georgie could have loved him. Maxie asked if that's really so hard to imagine. When she leaned really close, he freaked out. She assumed that meant he hates her guts. But he's going to have to deal.
Alexis blasted Jerry for vanishing and allowing Sam and Kristina to be hounded by the TMK. He said he was burying someone. He brought Kristina a little bouquet and encouraged her to speak. Lainey said the child isn't as shut off as the time she saw Sam kill someone. Alexis demanded to know why he wanted to bury Coop. Jerry confessed Coop was one of his men at the Metro Court siege, and Maxie knew it. Patrick ran into Devlin, and they recalled their wild days at med
school. "Life happens," he observed, sagely.
On the waterfront, Michael dropped his gun and it discharged; at that moment, Carly fell to the ground. She awoke just as a concerned Jax arrived, asking if
she was shot. She insisted she merely felt faint, but he took her to the hospital. Meanwhile, Michael stared
in horror at his real victim: Kate. When he got blood on his hands he recalled his father's admonishments about guns and fled. He boarded a ship about to set
sail and threw the gun in the water. At Sonny's cafe, Sonny ordered Skye found. Then Claudia — a rival mob boss — strutted straight into his office. They kissed passionately, but he broke it off and demanded to know what she wanted. She thought that was obvious. He questioned if she had inherited her father's madness (way to throw stones, Mr. Glass House), but she
claimed to just be a thrill-seeker, unlike "that bloodless stiff, Kate Howard." He summoned Max to escort her to her car and ordered her to stay away.
She said she doesn't need to be close to take him down. Claudia went to the piers (even PC newbies automatically know to go hang out there!), where she found Kate's body, checked for a pulse and gingerly stepped over her. She went home and smashed a mirror in anger. Later, when Jason got to GH, Liz filled him
in. He got a call from Sonny, who ordered him to check out a report of shots fired, and he's worried Kate was
in the area. Good thinking: He stumbled upon Kate's body and swept her into his arms.
Tuesday
After Sonny summoned an ambulance for the injured Kate, he started crying. "I love you," he said. "Please don't leave me." When Jason arrived, Sonny told him the Zaccharas did it — after all, Claudia just threatened Kate. Sonny vowed to make whoever shot her pay. The person who did do it — Michael — was hiding on a boat as it got underway. Later, Rodriguez and Harper tried to question Sonny, but he preferred to accompany Kate in the ambulance. At GH, Monica watched as Leo worked on Kate. Through internal monologue, she blamed Tracy for sidelining her. Leo told Sonny that Kate has a punctured lung and "her heart's in danger." Jason found Sonny pacing, fretting that Kate was afraid of precisely this. "Kate was right to run when I asked her to marry me," he moaned. He lamented wanting her to change for him. When Ms. Sneed approached Sonny as the "responsible party," he flipped and threw cash at her as Jason restrained him.
In his room at GH, Nikolas refused to ask Emily to remember who killed her. She reminded him his tumor is growing. With Emily's help, they both recalled that night. At the nurses' station, Leyla asked Robin to be friends, but Robin wouldn't discuss the baby. Leyla insisted she didn't break up Patrick and Robin, and also praised Robin for using an anonymous sperm donor. Patrick arrived and asked Robin if she's avoiding him. He wondered if she wonders what the father is like as a person. Devlin sniped at Robin for ignoring Nik to shop for baby blankets; Patrick defended her. Devlin then walked in on Nadine helping Nik back into bed and asking about Emily. After the nurse left, Devlin proposed trying a very expensive, very experimental drug — strictly on the down-low.
At the lake house, Jerry told Alexis he wants to find whoever traumatized Kristina. Later, Jerry told a caller he might have a way to get the deed delivered to him. At the diner, Marianna tried to work, but Ric distracted her with a new scarf. He told her he wonders if he can change. He asked about her secret, but she wouldn't quite spill. She said she came to this country to make a better life for herself, but American men merely look at her as something to exploit. Then Ric got a call from Alexis' phone — it was Jerry with the news that Kristina is catatonic. Ric decided to return home immediately. "Goodbye for now," he said, and left, leaving behind a file. After Ric left, Marianna's boss threatened her.
As Johnny pounded on the door, Lulu broke free of Logan's grip and smashed him upside the head. Johnny broke down the door, then checked Logan, who was grievously injured. Lucky soon arrived, followed by Scott, who admitted he'd been suspecting his son might be the Text Message Killer. Logan was brought to Patrick at the ER. Lucky said Logan is the TMK, but Scotty insisted Logan was a victim of Lulu. Johnny strolled into the waiting area, where Sonny appeared and grabbed him. "Anything happens to Kate, you're a dead man," Sonny snarled. At that moment, Kate flat-lined.
Wednesday
When Tracy found Luke in a hospital room, he said he had food poisoning, but she was suspicious. When she smelled bourbon, he pulled out a giant box of chocolates: "Happy Valentine's Day, love of my life," he crowed. He apologized for giving her a hard time, but they were interrupted by Ramona, a member of the custodial staff, who stumbled in and chomped the candy. Tracy twigged that he was getting Ramona drunk and called him "lower than the dirt on a snake's ass." She thwacked him on the knee with an IV stand. Luke said Ramona also works with shelters and charities, going through castoff clothes for donations. At that moment, Ramona brought in a trash bag containing Monica's coat — and a flask. Tracy exulted that this was blackmail material, then insisted on taking Luke to County.
Elsewhere, a pillow-wielding Claudia gazed at her sick father and flashed back to echoes of fending off some kind of abuse from him. "Couldn't do it, could ya?" he taunted. She maintained she could have, but wants him to suffer. Trevor told an orderly to call him if Anthony's condition changes. Claudia eavesdropped, then went in to her father, who said he didn't recognize her and screamed for his wife.
At the coffeehouse, Randy yelled at Marianna. She stood up to him, so he hit her. Ric returned and they got into a brutal knock-down, drag-out that ended with Ric throwing Randy out. Ric urged her to leave Randy, but she said, "He can have me deported." Marianna detailed how Randy set up her visa and made her work at the coffeehouse to lure in male customers. At home he used her like an indentured servant, saying he had spent thousands on her. She wanted to leave, but Randy filed false information about her, so the government would lock her up. Ric vowed to find the best immigration lawyer to help her.
Back at GH, Dr. Devlin asked Nikolas if he's ready to try the drug, which should work within days and enable Nik to travel to seek proper care. Devlin left him a small envelope.
Lulu confessed that she hit Logan with a wrench, then she stopped Sonny from threatening Johnny by saying he was with her. Leo fought desperately to save Kate. In another room, Logan began seizing, so Patrick brought him to O.R.
2. Maxie said Lulu should have let Logan die because he's the Text Message Killer. Lulu stormed out. Scott told Mac he'll catch his daughter's killer, even if it's his son. Mac asked Spinelli to keep an eye on Maxie. Spinelli said Maxie forced him to uncover dirt on Logan and also revealed that he's now an accredited P.I. Johnny found Lulu on the roof, where he wondered if she still had "a thing for Logan." Downstairs, Patrick operated on Logan's brain while Leo worked on Kate. Sonny sobbed again. Jax arrived just before Bobbie asked Sonny if Kate has any next of kin. Jax said Kate told him all about Connie. Sonny warned Jax to stay out of his business. Jax said Kate is "fighting for her life because of you," and stormed out. When Trevor arrived, Sonny pulled a gun on him and growled, "Johnny has an alibi, do you?" On the roof, Johnny recounted how Luke stopped him from jumping. Lulu wondered how she could live with herself if she killed Logan. Later, Maxie found Logan unconscious and alone in his room, and prepared to turn off his respirator.
Thursday
When Jason arrived at Carly's she told him she's pregnant. "I'm happy for you," Jason replied, and then she snarked about Jake. When she mentioned hitting something on her drive home the other night, he pointed out that was when Sam was hit. Carly flipped out, and wondered why he's concerned about Sam instead of getting info to help with Kate's shooting. She wondered if he would cover for her if she did hit Sam. She insisted she hit a pothole, swerved and scraped the bumper. Carly smugly taunted Jason about sacrificing his own joy for...whom? Jake will one day wonder what might have been. She recounted passing out at the Taylor Building, and when she woke up Jax said he heard shots. Then Max arrived, looking for Michael. (The kid was on a boat, flashing back to the shooting.) Jason sent Milo to the park to look for Michael. When Jax came home Carly told him, "Michael's missing."
Claudia asked Anthony why he was behaving strangely after Trevor left. They agreed they both want Trevor's head mounted on a wall, and agreed to team up. At GH, Sonny warned Trevor he will kill him, Anthony, Claudia and Johnny if Kate dies. Leo interrupted to say Kate isn't dead. Jax promised to watch Sonny kill Trevor if he really was responsible. Trevor then ordered an investigation into Kate's shooting. In Kate's room, Sonny thanked her for "going to all this trouble to prove what a fool I am." Later, Kate briefly woke up, and Sonny asked who shot her. She couldn't respond, but he said he knows anyway, and vowed war: "No prisoners, no survivors."
On the hospital's roof, Johnny praised Lulu's compassion for Logan, and they smooched. Downstairs, Maxie taunted Logan for killing Georgie, and vowed to make him pay as she fondled his power cord. Mac, Spinelli and Scott walked into Logan's darkened room, where Maxie sat, holding a cord — a lamp cord.
She was stopped from disconnecting the respirator by Coop's charm bracelet.
Later, Spinelli found Maxie on the roof and had another noir fantasy about her. She admitted she still felt a little afraid. Over at the nurses' station, Sam noted Alexis trying to push her together with Lucky, but she figured Lucky will leave her after finding whoever hit her. Sam told Nikolas that Logan is probably the Text Message Killer. When Dr. Devlin came in he cryptically asked Nik how he's doing, then escorted Sam back to her room. Then Emily appeared, and Nik told her about Logan. Later, on The Haunted Star, Johnny played piano and shared childhood memories of his father being happy and watching Johnny playing piano. But Trevor would interrupt and tell him not to play. Johnny called Lulu his muse, and they kissed passionately. Then they made love. Meanwhile, Scotty asked still-unconscious Logan to wake up and explain why he looks guilty. Alexis arrived to share parental grief/concern. Nik stalked the halls, and asked Emily if Logan was her killer.
Elsewhere, a black-clad figure spun a bottle atop a pile of clippings about the TMK. It pointed to a picture of Sam.
Friday
Sonny told Leo that Kate had smiled. Then he told Jason he wants to kill the
"slob" who shot her. Jason said Michael could be missing. Sonny blamed the
Zaccharas (specifically "bitch" Claudia) and expected a ransom call. At that
moment, in Crimson Point, Trevor asked Claudia if she shot Kate. Claudia
denied it. She asked Trevor about being Sonny's stepfather, but he wouldn't
talk. She resolved to take power from him, but Trevor boasted about being in
control — especially once he has the Alcazar property. Back in Port
Charles, Carly and Jax bickered over her reliance on Jason. Later, when Morgan asked where Michael was, Jax said the kid is on an adventure. Jax suggested Michael ran away, and left to look for him, but returned later, empty-handed. Aboard the ship he was hiding on, Michael spotted a cell phone. He dialed his mom, but couldn't talk. At GH, Jason said Michael's backpack was found near Pier 47. Sonny noted that was close to the Taylor Building, so Michaels disappearance must be related to Kate's shooting. Jason insisted on finding proof before Sonny acts.
Lulu awoke in Johnny's arms, then he went out for coffee and rolls. He
noted that a restaurant would make a killing in the area. Lulu felt uneasy
because they're happy, and lamented falling for Logan. Johnny admitted Logan
had a certain brilliance. Johnny feared his lifestyle was too dangerous for
her (Where have we heard that before?), but now he's out of the life. He
invited her on a "normal" dinner date. She agreed. He said he has to go home
to "prove something" to someone. At GH, Sam ran into Alexis outside Logan's room. Sam wondered if Logan really is the Text Message Killer. Alexis gave Sam a fancy phone. Lucky arrived and suggested going home may not be a good idea. Alexis invited Sam to her house, but Sam declined. Elsewhere, a black-clad figure, the TMK, dealt with a rib injury, then stabbed a knife through a photo of Sam. Later, he sneaked into Sam's place. Still later, Sam finally arrived home, Lucky stopped her from entering by inviting her to stay with him. She pointed out he just feels guilty, and she wants more than that. She wants love. So he left. Inside, the TMK lurked.
Ric summoned Elizabeth to his place to treat Marianna's injuries. Liz assumed Ric hit her, but Marianna disabused her of that opinion. Marianna refused to see a doctor, because she's an illegal from Venezuela. When she went to take a bath, Ric told Liz that Marianna knows all about him and doesn't care. He revealed that Skye gave him Alcazar's waterfront property. Liz noted that Ric met Marianna in a coffee shop, just like he met her in one. Later, Marianna admitted she recognized Liz as Ric's one chance at love. He admitted he still has a fondness for her in his heart. He ordered her some new clothes, then went to take a shower. That's when Trevor
arrived. "You work fast," he noted. "But, apparently, you've forgotten who
you're working for." That's when Ric came out of the bathroom.
Jerry found Jason and reported that "Lorenzo Alcazar" has been making bank
withdrawals for weeks. Kate woke up while Alexis was sitting with her.
Patrick told Scott that Logan had lapsed into a coma. Sonny went to Crimson
Point and confronted Johnny. "This is for Kate Howard!" he shouted and fired
a shot. Back in P.C., Sam broke free of the TMK and demanded to know his
identity. He removed his mask. It's DIEGO!!!
