General Hospital Recaps
GH Week of February 14, 2011
In a limo on the way to the opera, Dante lamented not having a gift for Lulu, but he was glad to spend the evening with her. At the opera house, they discussed the plot: a woman who kills a lover who lied to her. After the performance, they returned to the loft, where she tried to leave, but he pulled her into a kiss.
Lucky and Siobhan stared down a couple of the Balkan's thugs — until she abruptly turned her gun on Lucky. The thugs tied him up. Siobhan told him that family counts more than any cop she happens to be sleeping with. Siobhan sent the men outside to check out sirens. Lucky insisted that Siobhan is a good person who gave in to fear, but she was sure this was the only way to save her sister. When the thugs returned, Lucky got the drop on them and knocked them out. Siobhan insisted this was her plan all along! Lucky scolded her for risking their lives. He insisted they must work together. One of the goons' phones rang. It was the Balkan, who congratulated the detective for eluding his first trap.
At Jake's, Terrell told Robin a hard-luck story about an ex. Meanwhile, Patrick pounded beers, while Lisa stumbled to her feet — and fell right into Johnny's arms. Johnny took her home. To his home, where she later feared that he took advantage while she was unconscious. But he reassured. He paid the waitress to switch the drugged beers. Johnny recounted how his sister, Claudia, couldn't get Sonny to love her and it destroyed her. So Lisa needs to back off Patrick before it's too late. But she remained defiant. Back at Jake's, Patrick bought a round and sat at the table with his wife and Terrell. He and Terrell boasted about their basketball skills, then challenged each other to a game of darts. Patrick hit the bull's-eye and pulled Robin into a kiss. Then he walked out, leaving her flustered.
Suzanne and Carol argued over whether to cancel the wedding. Sonny came in and asked to see the wedding ring. Suzanne called it another bad omen. Sonny again insisted the wedding is going forward despite Suzanne's misgivings. Brenda insisted she knows the risks. Sonny stuck with the Archer Pavilion because that's where Jason has arrangements. Meanwhile, in Theo's office, Shawn laid out arrangements to kidnap the bride and escape by boat. The Balkan ordered a message be sent to Jason. Carly burst in and made small talk with Shawn, but Theo ordered her out. He and Carly sniped at each other until she left. She went to Jake's, where she ran into Spinelli, who was also sour on love. "Love never lasts!" Carly shouted at a pair of lovers. Carly noted she bought her own Valentine's Day present. Meanwhile, Brenda admitted she's nervous. Sonny begged to see the ring, and she relented. However, when she opened the box, the ring was gone!
Sam assured Jason she will call the hospital for her pregnancy-test results tomorrow; right now she wants to concentrate on the romantic dinner he cooked. He asked her to dance. She called it the perfect Valentine's Day. She reflexively stopped him from pouring wine — but insisted she isn't pregnant. He begged her to call for the test results. She called, and learned she is not pregnant. She insisted she's okay. But when he asked what she really wants, she started crying. He deduced she still wants kids. "Maybe, just maybe," she said. She didn't expect not being pregnant to be this disappointing. Sam also didn't want to bother with the fertility reconstruction procedure. After dinner, he gave her a little box. "You are first in my life, and I love you," he declared. Inside the box was a necklace with a Polynesian pendant. She thanked him with a kiss in Sonny's office. Outside, a shadowy figure lurked. It was Shawn, who found the office empty. Then he heard Jason cock his gun. He drew his own gun, but he was caught!
Over the phone, Lucky challenged the Balkan, who threatened Megan's life. Siobhan panicked, and promised to kill the Balkan in revenge. Lucky calmed her down and they resolved to rescue Megan. Later, they eavesdropped as one of the thugs discussed plans with the Balkan.
Lulu tried to leave the loft, but Dante blocked the door and insisted she stay to discuss the opera. She claimed to be too tired and left anyway. Later, Dante ran into her strolling the streets. He invited her back to his place to listen to the opera they saw earlier. Over drinks, he declared her "the love of my life," and asked for a chance to redeem himself. "God help me, I love you too," she replied, and they kissed.
Sonny suggested his wedding ring was misplaced, but Brenda was sure Carly stole it. And she was furious that Sonny defended Carly as too preoccupied with Michael. Brenda suspected Carly was using Michael as an excuse to manipulate him. Sonny, however, had another suspect: Suzanne. She entered and cast aspersions on Carly. But Sonny accused her, convincing Brenda. Suzanne claimed she did it all "to save your life," because marrying Sonny would make her a bigger target. Brenda suspected Suzanne was worried about her fund-raising abilities after marriage, but Suzanne insisted it was all about protecting her from the Balkan. She returned the ring. Sonny urged Brenda to forgive Suzanne. She apologized, and Brenda hugged her. Later, Brenda wondered when Sonny became so forgiving. He acknowledged that Suzanne helped Brenda through tough times.
Michael met his mother at Metro Court to say he didn't see a lot of promise in therapy. Carly promised that the "garbage" would eventually help him. Then she voiced reservations about Abby's career choice and Michael getting swept up in the strip club environment. Luke came in to speak with Carly. Michael left and went to Kelly's, where he told Abby how much he hates therapy — but he's sticking with it. Abby announced she's going to quit stripping. But she owes Johnny money for an "advance" he gave her to pay for school. Michael offered to talk to Johnny for her. Back at Metro Court, Carly showed Luke Brenda and Dante's custody agreement — which she plans to drop "like a bomb" at Sonny's wedding. "Uncle Luke" approved her plan. But he cautioned that there's always collateral damage with revenge, and you never know who will be hit. Carly admitted Michael will be devastated to learn the truth about his brother, but it has to be done. Suddenly, Carly realized that Sonny doesn't have to be humiliated in public; she can confront Brenda with the evidence in private and offer her the chance to disappear quietly. Later, Abby went to Johnny and quit. She promised to pay him back. Johnny agreed to wait for his money — and keep the door open for her to dance again. He saw it as a chance to have "a Corinthos" owe him one.
Jason held a gun on Shawn at the restaurant. He recognized Shawn as Theo's security guy. Shawn said Theo is concerned about Jason looking into his background, and wanted to send a message about snooping. Jason let him go — with the warning not to trespass again. Jason summoned Theo and summarily fired him! Theo started talking about how Brenda fell apart under his test questioning, and pointed out that Michael could suffer if Dante is convicted; implying that only he can successfully defend Brenda and Dante. Jason changed his mind and let Theo stay on the case. After he left, Sam pointed out that Jason just got played by Theo. Not so! Jason revealed that he let Theo think he got played, just to set him up. Theo returned to his office to crow about his victory over Jason — to Suzanne! Suzanne reported her pot-stirring with Sonny and Brenda. Theo admitted he was happy he married her, and they kissed. Meanwhile, Jason and Sam tried to puzzle out a connection between Theo and the Balkan, finally wondering if the Balkan had hired Theo...
Carly went looking for Brenda, but found Sonny instead. She admitted her intention to ask Brenda not to marry him. He asked Carly to stay away from Brenda until after the wedding. Carly recalled nursing him through his traumatic first breakdown and wondered if Brenda could be so caring. She added that Sonny has changed massively in the 20 years since he fell in love with Brenda, but she hasn't changed at all: "Brenda can't love anyone but herself." Carly added, "I promise you, your wedding to Brenda will not happen." Carly went to the PI office and told Spinelli of her plan to confront Brenda in private and offer her the chance to slink out of town quietly. When Jason and Sam arrived, Carly promised not to disrupt the ceremony. Jason asked Spin to search for the Balkan by comparing DNA samples to Aleksander's DNA. At Theo's office, he and Suzanne chortled over everyone's cluelessness about her connection to him. She said Brenda has never shown any remorse about the death of their son, Aleksander. Theo announced his intention to visit the hospital -- and talk to the matron of honor. When Brenda abruptly entered, Theo claimed to be officially questioning Suzanne about the shooting. Brenda asked them to delay the case until after the wedding. Theo conveniently announced that he got a continuance until after the wedding. (Which is tomorrow, right?) As Jason and Sam puzzled over Theo and the Balkan, Kristina showed up for wedding preparations. She was followed by Brenda, who celebrated the court case being delayed.
Shawn walked into Kelly's, where Luke was substituting for Mike. Luke asked Lulu to support the family business and help him staff the place. Lulu revealed she is back with Dante. That surprised her dad, but she noted Dante's lie was "not the end of the world." He warned her that the more she invests, the more she'll be hurt if it goes south. On his way out, Shawn ran into Molly, and they discussed her therapy. She said her uncle Sonny is marrying famous model Brenda Barrett tomorrow. That intrigued Shawn. At the penthouse, Krissy helped Brenda assemble decorations. Brenda admitted she's nervous because she wants the girls to like her. Kristina assured her she does. Molly returned with cupcakes from Kelly's. There was another knock, "It's open!" they chorused. Suzanne came in to apologize for the trouble she caused. After she left, Robin arrived to join the fun.
Siobhan and Lucky found where Megan is being held. They heard her scream, and saw a man lock the barn door. They saw Megan inside. Lucky broke in. Megan related being snatched off the street. Lucky untied her, but before they could escape, they came under fire.
At the Hub, Patrick refused to apologize for last night's antics. Robin said it was "nice," and asked him to handle her appointment with Theo. Patrick fumed over Theo's past antics. When Theo arrived, she handed him off. Later, Theo railed at Patrick for not running an MRI, and asked for Robin to examine him. Patrick said she's too busy helping with the wedding.
Robin visited Sonny to congratulate him, and noted how calm he is. Sonny said he's looking forward to the ceremony being over, and thanked her for being a good friend and getting him back together with Brenda. She was certain they will be happy. She told him she's trying with Patrick -- who is trying his best for her. Sonny wished Stone could be at the ceremony; Stone always had faith in Sonny and Brenda. Robin suggested that maybe everything had to happen this way to appreciate the people we love. Sonny summoned Max and Milo to the restaurant, and asked them to save Carly from herself by stopping her from making a scene at the wedding. By which he meant keep her from attending.
Later, Theo ordered Shawn to grab Brenda before the ceremony. When Carly arrived at the penthouse, she wheedled an apology from Brenda for accusing her of sabotage. Carly asked to speak to her alone, but Robin threw Carly out. "Okay..." Carly smirked.
Carly went to Kelly's to tell Luke she was turned away from the penthouse by Robin, so she's going to have to announce the truth at wedding. Luke suggested not taking the info public. Jason roused Spinelli from another Jackal, PI reverie to pursue the latest lead on The Balkan. Meanwhile, Theo told Shawn he's been added to the wedding guest list as security, so he can get close enough to the bride to snatch her. Alexis burst in, looking for a file. Shawn left for the ceremony, and Alexis announced her intention to attend, as well. At the pavilion, Dante told Jason he has a bad feeling about the ceremony. Then Jason ran into Sam doing her own security walk-through. He praised her for supporting him. Sam wondered of Sonny and Brenda can make it work this time. Jason pointed out the second time worked out for them. They declared their love and kissed. Later, Spinelli burst in to say he has uncovered the true identity of The Balkan!
At the penthouse, Carol and Robin discussed final arrangements as Suzanne brooded and Brenda nervously paced upstairs. Suzanne suggested canceling once again, but Brenda resolved to go through with it. Carol complained that Jason's security force was keeping paparazzi off the grounds. Suzanne suggested they release photos to the press later. Carol and Suzanne left. Suzanne went to Theo's office, where he exulted over leaving town soon. He offered a toast, but Suzanne had to get to the pavilion. As Brenda and Robin left for the ceremony, Brenda feared something would go wrong. Before they got out the door, Edward arrived, worried about stopping the "disaster" before it happened. Edward fretted that Sonny would jilt Brenda again. She promised Sonny would be there, and insisted she loves him, "faults and all." He gave her Lila's handkerchief to carry, saying he just wants her to be happy.
Michael interrupted Sonny giving Max and Milo orders, but Sonny covered. Sonny admitted he was feeling nervous -- like it's his first wedding. But he wants it to be his last, he added. He advised Michael to never have regrets, and to hold on to the love of his life when he meets her. Sonny took a congratulatory call from Mike in rehab. Michael praised Sonny for always being there for him, no matter how rough things got. Carly arrived, and was shocked to see Michael. Michael suspected his mom was up to something, and advised her against it. Carly played innocent. Then she got a message and abruptly bolted. Later, Date told Sonny that he appreciates all of Sonny's efforts to make him feel like part of the family. Sonny asked how Dante feels about the marriage; Dante noted they are adults and make their own decisions. Sonny credited Dante with giving him back the woman he loves. Carly arrived at the PI office in answer to Spinelli's summons, where he tried to talk her out of ruining the ceremony. Carly said she would give Brenda a chance to disappear quietly. When Ethan arrived at Kelly's, Luke wanted to hand off to him so he could go to the wedding. Shawn entered, looking for coffee again. Then Kristina and Molly came in. Krissy spotted Ethan and immediately became concerned about making her hair look "sophisticated." Then she chatted up Ethan. When he complimented her, she invited him to the wedding. He bailed on Luke and went to get changed. When Michael arrived, he was surprised Krissy invited Ethan. Molly announced she needed to go to her mother's office.
Later, at Kelly's, Luke poured coffee for a nervous Max and Milo. When Carly arrived, Max told her she can't go to the wedding, because Sonny needs to see her at the house. Suspicious, she tried to flee, but Max lifted her bodily and carried her off.
Carol surprised Shawn in the bridal suite, but Suzanne vouched for him. Downstairs, Robin and Brenda surveyed the ceremony arrangements. Brenda worried it wasn't real. Robin told her to stop worrying and enjoy the day, but Brenda spoke of Sonny leaving her at the altar last time. Sonny gathered Michael and Dante and praised the men they have become. "I'm proud of you" he announced. Molly found the law office empty, but hid when she heard Theo's voice. She overheard him declare on the phone, "I am The Balkan!"
Spinelli bolted in to see Jason and Sam and blurted out that Theo is the
Balkan. He explained everything he'd discovered. Meanwhile, a shocked Molly
hid as the uber-evil Theo hung up a call with Shawn. At the wedding venue,
Brenda confided her nerves to a supportive Robin. Robin said she didn't
regret marrying Patrick, despite what had happened after. They eye-rolled
about there "always" being a Carly or a Lisa and men being "idiots." Robin
turned Brenda's insecurities into giggles. At Sonny's, he had a sweet moment
with Dante and Michael. As they left for the ceremony, Max and Milo wrestled
Carly inside and put her on guard. Of course, Carly manipulated the
well-meaning thugs. As Molly continued listening, Theo called Suzanne,
telling her he wants her with him at his "moment of triumph." Jason told
Spinelli they had to "turn the tables." At the pavilion, Jax brought Morgan
to join Sonny and the older boys. Sonny and Jax then had a moment alone,
where they called a truce "just for today" and shook hands. At Alexis'
office, she came in looking for her glasses and noted Theo was in a good
mood. They walked out together, and Molly finally emerged from her hiding
spot. As Robin and Kristina joined Brenda in the bride's room, Shawn lurked
outside. The girls assured Brenda that Sonny was there and "you're about to
get married." Robin again calmed Brenda and gave her advice on getting
through the ceremony. Alexis popped in looking for her girls, puzzled by
where Molly could be. When Sam, Jason and Spinelli came into Alexis' office,
Molly burst out and told them what she'd overheard. Jason instructed
Spinelli to take Molly to the Archer Pavilion and swore them to secrecy..
Then, he and Sam began plotting!
Luke and Lulu met outside Kelly's, ready for the wedding, and Ethan arrived
all suited up. Luke warned Ethan to "proceed with caution," when it came to
Kristina's crush on him. Ethan assured him that he's on top of it, noting he
appreciates "ball and chain" Maya, who was busy on call at the hospital.
Steve and Olivia arrived at the wedding together, being all flirty and cute.
The Spencer clan found Dante; the guys quickly left Lulu to flirt with her
man. Olivia noted the duo's closeness and they told her they're back
together. Ethan and Kristina traded compliments and grins. Sonny and Luke
reminisced and caught up. Tracy soon joined them, and she and Luke feigned
politeness in their snarky way. Robin and Patrick's politeness wasn't
feigned, though. Nearby, Alexis and Sonny had some friendly ex chatter and
Jax visited Brenda to wish her well.
Carly managed to bamboozle Max and knock him out. She hotfooted it to the
ceremony! Sonny snuck in to see Brenda before it began, telling her nothing
would get in the way of their future together. Spinelli rushed Molly into
the Pavillion, and Alexis teared up seeing her "baby" all grown up. She and
Jax grabbed seats together! Then, Sonny and Olivia had a moment about Dante.
Sonny told Steve to take care of Olivia because "she's like a sister to me."
He and Olivia cracked up! In the bride's room, Robin, Krissy and Molly did
the "something old, something new" thing and hugged Brenda. At the Metro
Court, Theo wondered if Suzanne was feeling sympathy for Brenda and crowed
that Brenda would soon pay for her sins. Jason and Sam got a key to Theo's
room and headed upstairs. Back at the Archer Pavillion, Brenda was finally
in her dress and veil, waiting for Jason to arrive and walk her down the
aisle! Of course, Carly and Shawn met up right outside Brenda's door! The
bridesmaids realized Jason was AWOL and Robin rushed in and commandeered
Edward. Sonny and Dante realized Jason must be delayed. As for Carly...she
let herself into Brenda's room and said she was there to "say goodbye."
