General Hospital Recaps

GH Week of December 29, 2008

Monday

At Metro Court, Carly and Jax bickered over the running of the hotel spa. Jax pointed out that Carly might be short-tempered because it's Michael's birthday.

At Sonny's, Corinthos admitted he was surprised by Jason's request that he quit the Zaccharas. Sonny denied the request since Jason wasn't going to surrender the business back to him. Sonny then blatantly phoned in a shipment to be delivered in Jason's territory. Jason couldn't believe Sonny would act this way on this, of all days. Jason warned Sonny he'd do whatever he needed to do and then left.

At the church, Robert proudly walked Robin down the aisle. She and Patrick exchanged touching vows. The couple wed without incident and upon the completion of their first kiss as husband and wife, the church erupted in applause. The bride and groom walked back down the aisle amongst the cheers of family and friends.

At the reception, Anna stated getting teary thinking about the past.
Luckily, Luke arrived with drinks and proposed a toast. Maxie was having a problem realizing that the ceremony went off without a hitch. As she continued to sip champagne, Maxie admitted to Spinelli that although she was happy for her cousin, she was also a tad jealous. The newlyweds shared their first dance, then Robin opened up the floor to everyone. Robin then danced with Robert and Patrick danced with Anna. Matt asked Maxie to dance, since
no one else had. Maxie handed Spinelli her purse and they hit the floor. Matt then questioned Maxie about her relationship with Spinelli, which she didn't want to talk about. Meanwhile, Edward approached Luke and told him that he needs to calm Tracy down, as she's become hell on wheels since their separation.

Robin told Robert that he was officially "off the hook" for his years of neglect, and Mac told her how proud he was of the woman she has become. Robert toasted the happy couple, followed by Anna, who provided them with a list of "do's" and "don'ts." It came to the cake cutting and Robin advised Patrick if he smashed the cake in her face, they'd have the shortest marriage in history. He laughed and they tenderly fed each other. Later, in his mind, Spinelli shared a sweet dance with Maxie.

Jax went to see Sam and asked her to fill in the blanks of Jerry's last moments. Sam sat him down and told him the story of their last encounter on the freighter. Jax was hopeful that Jerry might have survived the explosion but Sam said she didn't think so. Jax apologized for his brother's actions and she apologized for his loss. After Jax left, Jason arrived and Sam informed him that Agent Rayner was asking questions about Spinelli.

Sonny and Carly ran into each other in Michael's hospital room at the Aftercare Center. They discussed Michael's birthday's past and wept. Carly told Sonny that her gift to Michael was them forgiving each other of their past transgressions.

Tuesday

On New Year's Eve, a blackout hit Port Charles.

At Crimson, Maxie freaked at Spinelli, stating she needed power for her computer to retrieve the document she was working on. Spinelli tried to calm her and pointed out that Maximista probably didn't back up her document. Maxie stated it was Spinelli's fault for not reminding her. Spinelli tried using a car battery for a power source to no avail. Maxie couldn't believe that Spinelli was unable to solve her dilemma. She was flustered that her article on shoes would be late, and this was the first time she'd met a deadline. As Spinelli typed away, Maxie admitted that she was happy but a little jealous about Robin's happiness. Spinelli managed to hack into the
Crimson mainframe, only to find Maxie's article was indeed gone. Spinelli sneezed as Maxie lamented her lost work. He assured her that she could easily rewrite the piece but Maxie doubted it. After a pep talk, Maxie thanked Spinelli for his friendship and they watched the clock tower from Kate's office. When midnight arrived, Spinelli missed his chance at a kiss when he sneezed. Maxie laughed and gave him a hug.

At Metro Court, Carly came out of the stairwell to the restaurant and found Jax alone. "In case you haven't heard, we're closed tonight," he smiled. Carly was upset that the blackout ruined the hotel's plans for New Year's Eve. Jax was amazed Carly made it up the entire stairwell. He assured Carly that the food for the cancelled party was all sent to the local homeless shelter. Carly was touched ‹ and happy that he didn't give away the dessert
she'd saved for herself. The couple then shared some champagne and tiramisu. Jax was impressed Carly would climb that flight of stairs just for a dessert. She pointed out that women had no bounds when it came to getting their sugar. Jax and Carly toasted to the new year to come. The couple shared a dance, and a kiss.

At the apartment, Johnny needed to quickly shower and change to take Lulu out for New Year's Eve. She mentioned that he didn't have to cater to her but he said he was looking forward to showing her a good time. Lulu wanted to pay for the cab but Johnny wouldn't hear of it. After discussing the matter, Johnny slipped that he'd rather not go out. Lulu agreed so they cancelled their plans. Lulu ordered a pizza and they shared some beers and
reflected about their tumultuous year. Lulu ordered Johnny to get dressed, in search of a New Year's Eve snow. Johnny pointed out the odds were unlikely but he agreed to play along. Down at the docks, snow began to fall and the duo shared an embrace.

Tracy showed up at The Haunted Star and was appalled that the place was empty. Luke told her he was having a private party and she was the only one on the guest list. Tracy couldn't believe he'd lose out on the biggest money-making night of the year. He proposed a drink but she still doubted his commitment to her. A roulette spin told Tracy to stay but she thought the game was rigged. Tracy played her and Laura's birthdays: if the ball landed on 6 (hers, April 6), she'd return to Luke: if it landed on Laura's
(21, of December), they'd divorce. Luke sun the wheel. At the last moment, Tracy moved all her chips to 6 and, lo and behold, that's where the ball came to rest. Luke began to gently kiss Tracy's cheek. She grabbed his face and pulled him into a liplock.

At Wyndemere, Nikolas and Nadine shared an awkward candlelight dinner of rack of lamb. Nikolas told Nadine that she doesn't need to be nervous and that she can be herself in front of him. Nadine asked where Spencer was. Nik said he was spending the holidays with Grandma Lesley and expressed regret that he didn't quite know how to raise his son. Nadine assured him that
he'll be a great dad and things take time. They traded resolutions, then Nik asked Nadine if she'd spend the night with him. After she pulled a toothbrush from her purse, Nik pulled Nadine into an embrace. They rang in the new year by making love.

Nikolas and Nadine went horseback riding at Wyndemere but cut it short when
her horse "threw a show." A superstitious Nadine predicted it was going to
be a bad day. Nadine was waiting to hear from a Mr. Corday at the licensing
company regarding Aunt Raylene's plow patent. Nikolas had his lawyer contact
Corday. The attorney called back saying the company is called Equinox and
they're a defense contractor. Nadine was incredulous. Just then, Corday
called: he was in Port Charles and wanted to meet. Later, Corday arrived and
stated that Equinox planned to renew the patent and handed her a sizable
check. Nik warned Corday not to assume anything, as he wanted his team of
lawyers to review and possibly re-negotiate the patent deal. Nadine then
asked Corday what they do with Raylene's plow-fitting invention. He said he
could not answer — due to reasons of national security. Nadine then ripped
up the check but Corday told her that breaking their agreement wasn't going
to be that simple.

At Casa de Corinthos, Claudia was frustrated by Jerry's clue to the hidden
DVD. Upon checking above a window, Sonny walked in. "You really don't think
I know what you're looking for?" he asked. She lied about measuring for new
drapes but Sonny didn't buy it. He thought she was searching for hidden
cameras. Sonny mentioned that Jason let the Zacchara shipment go through his
territory, as it was Michael's birthday and he didn't want to cause a
commotion. When Claudia asked if there was anything she could do, Sonny
replied, "Keep the drapes," then left. As Claudia resumed her search, Ric
arrived. She asked Ric to let her know if Anthony had a hidden agenda. Ric
skirted the question and Claudia warned him that her father is not to be
trusted. She tried coming on to him but Ric pleaded ignorance and left.

At Crimson, Maxie was happy that her article was just about done after
having to rewrite it when it got lost on her computer during the power
outage. On his laptop, Spinelli entered "Defcon One" after discovering that
his files had been hacked into. Maxie finished her article and backed it up,
as Spinelli kept sneezing. Lulu arrived with Kate's coffee, moments before
Kate and Jax arrived. Spinelli hid while the girls looked busy. Kate took
Maxie's article and said, "Good-bye, Mr. Spinelli."

Sam called Jason after Agent Rayner left his card under her door. Lucky
arrived and wanted to explain about New Year's Eve. He relayed that when he
was on the way to Sam's place, Elizabeth called about a broken water heater.
Lucky went to fix it, then got called into work. Sam said she was okay with
it and managed to hide Rayner's card before Lucky saw it. He, however, knew
she was hiding something. Lucky asked if she was planning another undercover
investigation but he was paged to work before he and Sam could finish their
discussion.

On the docks, Spinelli ran into a female cyber geek, who was totally in awe
of The Jackal. Spinelli was able to fix the gal's laptop dilemma and she was
thrilled to have crossed paths with such a legend. After a sneezing bout,
Spinelli looked up and the girl was gone.

Back at Crimson, as Kate and Jax went over cover ideas, Jax suggested they
needed a new face and mentioned sponsoring a contest. Kate was mildly
intrigued. As they joked around, Sonny entered. "Sorry to interrupt the
playfulness," he deadpanned. Sonny stated to Kate that Jax was just using
her to make Carly jealous. Kate kicked Sonny out, adding, "Give my regards
to your wife."

Lulu helped Johnny dress for a job interview. In a series of meetings, it
was clear Johnny lacked education, experience and was hindered by his family
name and hot temper. Lulu came home from work to find a disgruntled Johnny
with a swollen hand. She feared he'd punched out an interviewer but it was
just a wall he'd hit. Johnny was frustrated by his situation but as Lulu
treated his hand, she calmed him and he thanked her. Lulu assured Johnny
that everything would be okay. Just then, Lucky showed up with a warrant for
Johnny's arrest.

Later, Spinelli arrived at Sam's and warned her not to e-mail him anything,
as he has been "Jackaled." Sam was hoping Spinelli could hack into Rayner's
activities to see what he was up to but, alas, the Jackal could not. Then,
he mentioned his encounter with the mysterious cyber girl. "You have fans?"
Sam wondered aloud. Spinelli then left in a tizzy. "All is lost," he
bemoaned. On the docks, Spinelli apologized to his hacked-in laptop as cyber
girl watched him from afar. Maxie caught her and asked why she was spying on
Spinelli.

Sonny returned home to find Claudia looking behind the mirror. "What the
hell are you up to now?" he wondered. As Sonny barked at her, the DVD fell
out from behind the mirror. Sonny then warned Claudia that if she's hiding
something, he'll find out.
