GH Week of August 20, 2007 Recaps

Monday

Jerry tried to dissuade Carly — at gunpoint — from tagging along to save
Jax, but she was typically stubborn. He revealed that Jax was being held captive by Irina, Jerry's ex. Carly questioned whether Irina was really alive or just a diversion. On cue, Irina appeared and pulled a gun on Jerry and Carly (so much for Carly having the element of surprise). Irina
summarized her tumultuous history with Jerry as Carly inched closer to a nearby gun — but a thug burst in and held a gun to her head. An irate Irina declared that Carly must pay for trying to help Jerry. Carly demanded to see Jax, and offered to pay Irina whatever she wanted. Irina laughed that although Jax was a "voracious" and "insatiable" lover, she found it necessary to kill him.

Sam showed up at the park just in time to see Elizabeth and her children held at gunpoint by men who said they were going to use the family as
leverage against Jason. Sam pulled a gun on the attackers and chased them off. Later, it was revealed that Sam hired the men to scare Liz. In fact,
Lucky stumbled upon Sam congratulating the hired guns on a job well done.

At Kelly's, Maxie warned Logan to stay away from Coop. Logan reminded her that he and Coop have more history than she and Coop do. Maxie left in a huff as Lulu walked in. Lulu prodded Logan to take a blood test to prove that Scott Baldwin is his father. Logan insisted he wouldn't accept water from Baldwin if he were dying of thirst. They were kicked out of the restaurant when Logan raised his voice at another diner. They decided to
continue their conversation someplace "more private," just as Spinelli arrived and saw them go off together. Maxie returned again and toyed with Spinelli, assuring him that Lulu and Logan were "going to do it," if they
hadn't already. Meanwhile, Lulu and Logan were being honest about their feelings for one another and kissed passionately. Back at Kelly's, Maxie questioned Spinelli's idealized image of Lulu by calling her shallow and
self-centered. So shallow, in fact, that she would never choose Spinelli over Logan, no matter how much he loved her. Later, Spinelli got Jason to
admit he wouldn't mind having Elizabeth and the kids move in — if that's what she truly wanted. However, Jason also expressed concern about his dangerous lifestyle. Emily confided to Jason that she did not think Liz and Lucky could survive this rocky patch in their marriage and that there was a good chance Liz would choose Jason. He asked Liz herself if she was willing
to try out a new life with him. He promised he would do anything and everything in his power to protect her and the kids. Liz tearfully told him
about the men in the park and left Jason clearly shaken.

Diane and Sonny coached Kate on her court testimony, but she came across as snobby and condescending. Kate announced that she was going to get a new lawyer, a decision Diane asked her to reconsider. Diane confided to Sonny that Kate would most likely go to jail because she seemed so unrelatable and unremorseful, a statement Kate overheard from outside the room.

At GH, Patrick flirted with Leyla as Robin watched and fumed. Robin mused that he was doing this to prove to himself and to everyone that now that the pregnancy scare was over, he was a free man. Epiphany warned the Leyla to think about whether she should pursue Patrick, given her job and his reputation. Robin doled out rather unpleasant tasks to the student nurse,
which prompted Epiphany to question Robin's motives. Patrick invited a disgruntled Robin to watch his dad's performance and have a date night of sorts — a proposal that seemed to please Robin.

Tuesday

Kate confessed to overhearing Diane tell Sonny that her case didn't look so good. Sonny reiterated that Kate must relate to jurors by being humble and remorseful for hitting a police car or else go to jail. Diane cut a deal with the couture-loving DA that gave Kate minimal community service. By way of thanks, Kate set up a fitting for Diane with a top designer. Ric showed up to warn Kate and Sonny that he intended to make sure she pays for her crime. Sonny questioned whether Ric was once again trying to strike at him through his friends.

Jerry commended Irina on faking her own death so convincingly, but doubted she had really killed Jax because it would be more her style to kill his brother in front of him. Upset, Irina turned the gun on Carly saying, "I'll kill her so we can be alone." Unshaken, Jerry sniffed that random acts of violence solve nothing. "Random acts of violence are rewarding in themselves," she snarled. Still, she let Carly go. Instead of fleeing, Carly roamed the facility until she stumbled upon a battered and beaten Jax. She hid in a closet as two horribly accented thugs drove home Irina's plan to kill Jax in front of Jerry. Meanwhile, Jerry and Irina reminisced and leaned in for a kiss. Charmer that she is, Irina knocked Jerry unconscious instead. Irina caught Carly in the throes of freeing Jax and laughed that now she had two hostages to kill in front of Jerry.

Sam lied to Lucky about the identity of her hired thugs, and of course Detective Spencer believed her. Sam mentioned to Lucky that she heard the real attackers mention Jason. Lucky was visibly angered by this bit of information — just as Sam had planned. Meanwhile, Jason told Elizabeth that he felt she and the kids would be better off far away from him. He added that he loves her and apologized for not having said it earlier. A tearful Liz responded: "I love you...and I always will." They kissed. Jason then visited Sonny to discuss what might have prompted the thugs to go after Liz. When Sonny advised him to keep Liz and the kids close, Jason snapped that he would not be seeing Liz or the kids again. "I am walking away from my son because I love him," he explained. Jason then returned to the park and thanked Sam for helping. Elsewhere in the park, Lucky asked Liz once again whether she wanted to be with Jason. She expressed her desire to try to make things work with Lucky for the sake of their marriage and the kids.

Logan and Lulu finally slept together. They shared a bit of pillow talk, including Lulu's take on Logan's post-coital appearance: "When your hair is tousled like this, you look like a puppy dog." She then turned serious and confessed that she had only been with one other guy. Later, she attempted to bolt from Logan's place, with the excuse that she did not want to pressure him. Logan assured her that was certainly not the case, adding, "When I'm with you it feels like one of the only chances I have to do something good with my life." Maxie caught Lulu and Logan canoodling outside his place and told them about Spinelli's video game, which starred Lulu and featured a villain named "Logus." Lulu then went to Spinelli's and tried to convince him that Logan was a good guy and she did not need Spinelli's protection. She also voiced her desire to just be friends. Back at his place, Logan told Maxie that he and Lulu did not sleep together because she was not yet over Dillon. He suggested Lulu won't be getting over him anytime soon, so the deal with Maxie is off.

Wednesday

Jason attempted to find the identities of Liz's would-be attackers and
whomever they were working for. Spinelli, while still heartbroken over the budding romance between Lulu and Logan, agreed to help. He and Jason discussed potential suspects and settled on Lucky and Ric. Meanwhile, Elizabeth updated Emily as to what happened in the park and reiterated her love for Jason. Elsewhere, Jason revealed to Sonny that he suspects Ric might be responsible for the attack on Liz. At the Spencer abode, Liz suggested that she and Lucky take the kids to the beach in an attempt to
rekindle some semblance of a family bond, but Lucky was hesitant. When Liz
announced that Jason was no longer in her life because his work is so
dangerous, Lucky flipped and called her on not staying with him for the sake
of their marriage or because she loved him. He didn't take kindly to being
the "safer" option. Meanwhile, Maxie saw two men fitting Jason's description
of Liz's attackers and immediately confronted Sam, demanding to know how
long Sam thought she had before Jason figures out her plan. That visibly
unnerved Sam, though she insisted the men Maxie saw were not the two who had
tried to attack Liz. Later, at Nicholas' home, Lucky overheard Sam express
her concern for him to Nicholas. She then told Lucky she didn't feel safe
and proposed hiring Lucky to act as her bodyguard.

Ric refused to back off on his plan to humiliate Kate and make her serve
jail time in order to get at Sonny. He ignored Kate's promise that she would
be willing to help him punish Sonny if Ric took it easy on her, instead
informing her that he would not ease up until his manic-depressive brother
was destroyed. A disheartened Kate returned home to find a very affectionate gentleman waiting for her.

Noah got stage fright as his performance time approached. An angry Patrick
accused his dad of being selfish and consistently putting his own interests
before anyone else's. After Anna and Noah swapped stories of parenting hell
Anna encouraged him not to give up on salvaging his relationship with
Patrick. If she could make things work with Robin after all their troubles,
then so could Noah and his son. Robin tried to get Patrick to go easy on his
dad and give him a chance to redeem himself. Similarly, Anna encouraged Noah
to make his son proud by going on with the show. Noah and Patrick shared a
tearful reconciliation when Patrick relented and gave his dad another
chance. Just as he prepared to perform, however, Noah tripped over the mic
stand and claimed he injured his throat — yes, his throat —
prompting concern over whether the show would go on after all.

Thursday

Sonny went to Elizabeth's and convinced her to leave Jason alone and focus
instead on Lucky and the kids. She admitted she had been selfish in how she
treated Jason, always relying on him to rescue her. She reiterated (yet
again) her commitment to try to make things work with Lucky. Meanwhile,
Spinelli and Jason were able to find a license plate number linked to Liz's
would-be attackers. They were in the midst of discussing their suspicions
that Ric was somehow behind the attack when, lo and behold, Ric himself
showed up. Ric let Sonny and Jason know that Kate would "rot in jail," and casually mentioned Kate's willingness to let everyone know about Sonny's
bipolar disorder in return for Ric easing up on her.

Lucky visited Sam at her apartment, where they discussed her proposal to
hire him as her bodyguard. Lucky suspected a ploy to get back at Elizabeth, but Sam vehemently denied it. She expressed a desire to pursue a new,
independent life without Jason and his dangerous work. She sneakily let slip
that she was sure Jason had people watching Elizabeth because she was now
tied up in his life. Lucky was visibly disturbed and left with the promise
he would look into finding Sam a bodyguard among his cop friends. Maxie
showed up at Sam's after Lucky left and assured her that Spinelli and Lucky
had no idea she was involved with the incident in the park. Port Charles'
two bad girls also discussed how much they wanted to see Liz and Lulu fall
off their respective pedestals. Maxie declared that if she was going to be
labeled a slut for using sex as revenge, she could at least be a slut who
got what she wanted — revenge on Lulu. Just as she was saying that Lucky
returned with news that he agreed to act as Sam's bodyguard. His first
assignment: Open the door for Sam's surprise visitor, Elizabeth. At
Windemere, Emily and Nikolas canoodled and planned a dinner to make the most
of her night off. However, Nik kept getting interrupted by business phone
calls.

With just one hour left before the concert, Anna, Patrick and Robin
encouraged Noah to try and take the stage for LifeBeat despite his...um,
"bruised vocal chords" from his fall. Over at GH, Epiphany refused to
tolerate Eli Love's "faux rockstar" foolishness, although Anna was much less
resistant to his charms. When Robin chided her mother Anna responded with a
curt, "Shouldn't you be healing someone — or something?" Anna then tried to convince a stubborn Epiphany to grant Eli a temporary release from the
hospital so that he could perform at the benefit in Noah's place. Once at
the venue, a still-recovering Eli took the stage, but technical problems
with the mic incited concern as to whether the show would go on.

Kate and Trevor caught up over wine as he offered to help her out. Kate
insisted she could handle everything on her own, despite Ric having a
vendetta against her. When Kate idly remarked how Trevor and Ric had the
same last name, Trevor dropped the bomb: Ric Lansing is, in fact, his son.

Friday

In order to keep concertgoers from turning into an angry mob, Anna locked
lips with a terrified Noah while roadies tried desperately to fix technical
glitches. Then, growing serious, she gave a heartfelt speech about Robin's
ordeal living with HIV and her hopes that the money raised by the LifeBeat
concert would help find a cure. A teary Robin smiled at her mother from
beside the stage. Technical issues finally sorted out, Noah rocked out as
Eli provided vocals from offstage. After the concert, Anna and Robin shared
a tender moment as Robin brought her mom
up to speed about her pregnancy scare as well as being open to actually having a baby someday. Patrick, meanwhile, seemed less than thrilled to hear that his father didn't plan on retiring his rock star persona just yet.

Hitting the road, Spinelli and Jason used GPS to follow Liz's would-be
attackers and discover for whom they were working. Growing increasingly
nervous over what a fresh-from-prison "Stone Cold" might be capable of doing
once they found the two assailants, Spinelli urged Jason to consider letting
the cops handle it instead. Jason refused and elected to bash in the
attackers' faces in until they finally admitted being hired by Sam to shake
up Elizabeth.

Ric continued to rub Sonny's face in the fact that Kate had been eager to
sell him out in order to avoid jail. Sonny, unfazed, called Ric on putting
personal vendettas before his job and minced no words letting him know that
rival crime boss Anthony Zacchara would not go easy on Ric once he returned
to Port Charles. He then left to pay Kate a visit, where he revealed he had
been spying on her and Trevor. Waving off Kate's anger, Sonny warned her to
be careful regarding whom she chose to confide in. He seemed awfully nervous
about the fact that Kate had been discussing matters with Ric's father. Back at his office, he found himself haunted by flashbacks: puling a gun on Ric and accidentally pushing his mother down the stairs as a child. He arranged
for Trevor to be brought in.

Over in Turkey, Irina taunted Carly with the news that she had slept with
Jax. Carly remained unshaken and even berated Irina for being so pathetic as
to stoop to rape. An enraged Irina summoned her henchman, who was promptly
knocked unconscious by Jerry, who had been listening to the entire exchange
just outside the door. In front of a dejected Carly and Jax, Jerry presented
Irina with the option of splitting Jax's money to help finance a new life
for the two of them.

Lucky let a confused Liz into Sam's apartment, where she learned from Sam
herself that she had hired Lucky to be her bodyguard. Lucky followed Liz as
she went off to GH, and the two continued their back-and-forth over the
Lucky/Liz/Jason/Sam love rectangle. Still at home, Sam received a visit from
Ric, who expressed concern about Zacchara. Lucky returned to Sam's, where
she told him she was rethinking hiring him. Lucky, however, said he wouldn't
fall prey to Liz's "emotional blackmail" — then pulled Sam in for a kiss.
