General Hospital Recaps

GH Week of August 17, 2009

Monday

Sam helped Jason into the church and the priest's quarters. He gave her the recap of his Jerry encounter as she checked out his wounds. While cleaning his leg, she told him about just missing Michael and Kristina and being set up by Jerry. He was a little out of it and asked her to just keep talking to him. So, as she tied a tourniquet around his leg, she told him the lovely fairy tale of being sold to a drug dealer and smashing a lamp over the guy's head. Jason was very glad she'd found him. "That makes two of us," she smiled. Jason woke from a brief nap calling for Sam, and she gave him a little brandy to take the edge off. He asked her to keep talking, so she rambled about how Mikey and Kristina were no doubt looking out for each other. Too bad Jason's fever was spiking and he was shivering. She cuddled up with him to conserve body heat.

Dante was furious that Olivia had tried to arrange his transfer and refused
to change his life to make his mother happy. Olivia assured him that she's
proud of him, but fears his undercover work. He warned her that if she kept
messing around in his case, he would end up dead. Back at Sonny's, he
and Johnny went back and forth about Dominic's arrest. They then talked
about John's meeting with Anthony. "I am on your side, Sonny, because of my
sister if nothing else," Johnny swore. After he left, Sonny left Dom a message. Back at Olivia's, Dante gently reminded her that Sonny and John are not above the law and then he went to meet Sonny at Casa Corinthos. Sonny noted to Dom that Johnny should've taken the fall and dressed him down for not torching the drugs in time. But that was the sum total of the disapproval; he gave Dante some new orders and sent him on his way! Later, Olivia dropped by Sonny's to chide him for "looking for excuses to drag me back into your life." Dante returned and ended up walking in on their confab!

Rebecca had no idea what she was in for as a drunk, bitter Nikolas handed
her a check for a million dollars and called her a whore. She insisted she
didn't want his money and he blasted her for "selling" herself to him and
everyone else in town. Glad Emily hadn't gotten the chance to meet her, he
ordered her out. She insisted on telling him her side. He poured himself
some more booze to listen to the sob story, making snarky comments the whole
time. He even mocked Ethan's accent ("Nicely done, Rebecca, nicely done!").
"I'm in love with you," Rebecca insisted. "Damn you," he whispered, kissing
her...and then calling her a "cheap substitute for Emily" and kicking her
out. At the Quartermaine mansion, Edward, Monica, Alice and Tracy traded
snark about Michael being on the run, Alice's impending tell-all book, and
other things. That's when a tearful but steely Rebecca appeared and
confessed to being a con artist. Edward was actually impressed! Nikolas,
meanwhile, had switched from dark liquors to vodka, and he went up to the
Wyndemere parapets (of Katherine Bell's plummet fame!) to brood and court
death. Rebecca also copped to Ethan's involvement. Edward, unconcerned,
dubbed the Cassadines "inbred lunatics" and told Rebecca she wasn't going
anywhere. After his parapet perching, Nikolas moved on to wrecking
furniture. And how! Elizabeth showed up to find him perched again, doing his
best gargoyle impression. He even name-checked Uncle Stefan, and Katherine
falling from the east turret! Elizabeth literally talked him off the ledge
and he admitted to "finally turning into a Cassadine." "We can't let that
happen," Liz murmured, grasping his face. Meanwhile, Rebecca tracked down
Lucky at Jake's and slapped him for spilling the beans.

Tuesday

Even as a feverish Jason worried about Michael and Kristina, Sam made him promise to survive — because Carly would kill her if she let him die. And she doesn't want his death on her conscience. When Jason fondly recalled her strip-club waitress outfit, she recounted the case for him: She was investigating a suspected unfaithful husband. Sam mused about how people like to think love lasts forever. Turned out the husband was meeting his sister-in-law at the club — to plan a party for his wife. Jason thanked her for her help. Back in Port Charles, Alexis told Jax and Carly they should call a PI to look for the kids, but Carly had total faith in Jason. Later, Carly admitted she needs Jax's help deciding what to do next.

In Mexico, Kristina coached Michael for his date with Marita. When she noted that 17-year-old guys only want "one thing," Michael wondered if Kiefer had crossed a line with her. Later, Krissy wrote a letter to her mother, detailing her role in Claudia's accident, and how her guilt keeps her from coming home. That's when Michael brought Marita back to the store. They made another date for tomorrow, and he showed Kristina an unlocked PDA he found on the beach that would allow them to send untraceable messages home.

Back in Port Charles, Olivia insisted Dante watch her tell Sonny that they grew up in the same neighborhood and dated for "5 minutes," but they have no future together. Dante tried to excuse himself, but she insisted he stay while she ordered Sonny not to pursue her. "Be careful what you wish for," Sonny warned. She said she's happy with Johnny, but when Sonny demanded she explain that relationship, she deflected that she's coordinating a charity in his son's name, but she's not at his beck-and-call. After she left, Sonny told Dante, "She can't resist me." Dante mumbled, "You're delusional." Sonny warned him to be discreet, and wondered why he reacted so strongly to Olivia. Dante pointed out that Sonny is already married, and Olivia told him "no." Later, Alexis stopped by to find out why Sonny hasn't located their daughter. He suggested he can't make too much noise without tipping off his enemies. Sonny figured out that Alexis is covering from Kristina. Then Alexis and Carly got simultaneous texts from the kids saying they're safe. The messages included personal trivia that only the kids would know, about Alexis writing on the walls at Yale and Michael's pet frog.

At Jake's, Rebecca blasted Lucky for busting her to Nikolas before she could explain herself. Lucky said his loyalty is to Nikolas — "that's how it works with siblings." At Wyndemere, Elizabeth vowed not to leave Nikolas alone to drink himself numb. He confessed he misses Emily, and tried to replace her with Nadine and Rebecca. Liz accused him of being in love with his own suffering. Liz said Emily was a human who made mistakes, like getting involved with Sonny and breaking Zander's heart. She suggested if Nik had died, Emily would have moved on. She accused him of using Rebecca as a fake Emily to keep him from investing his heart in her. Nik admitted he got suckered because he wanted to be with someone without "betraying" Emily. Liz pointed out he cannot betray a dead woman. "Stop wasting your time!" she urged. So he kissed her. And she kissed him back. Downstairs, Lucky arrived, looking for Nikolas. Meanwhile, Dante encountered a drunken Rebecca at Jake's, and they commiserated over secrets and lies. He told her she's hot. "You're the hottest guy in here," she replied. They downed a couple of shots and went to his room — which used to be her room! She had a memory of Nik and started sobbing. By the time he turned around, she had passed out.

Back in Mexico, Sam reminded a passed-out Jason that he promised not to die — and Jerry returned to the ruined building.

Wednesday

Elizabeth broke off the kiss, telling Nikolas he was just trying to hide his pain. Then Lucky walked in and obliviously noted they both had the impulse to stop by and help Nik. Nikolas told Lucky he was trying to drink himself into oblivion when Liz arrived and talked him down. "We're gonna protect you from your worst instincts," Lucky vowed. "I've taken enough advantage of Elizabeth for one night," Nik replied, and Liz ushered Lucky out. At home, Lucky wondered if they could do more for Nik. She pointed out Nikolas cannot let go of Emily's death. Lucky said he was glad nothing has happened between himself and Liz that they can't take back.

Carly and Jax asked Spinelli to trace Michael and Kristina's e-mail. Spinelli wondered if Carly had lost faith in Stone Cold, yet agreed to do a trace (and babble about Maxie). At Sonny's place, he demanded to know — as Kristina's father — if Krissy was involved in the accident.Alexis said Krissy ran Claudia off the road, and she's too afraid to face her parents. "She's our baby and we have to help her," she pleaded. Sonny bemoaned that Krissy didn't come to him, and insisted Alexis not take the fall. Then he brought her to Jax and Carly's, where he and Jax argued over who would personally go fetch the kids. While they argued, Spinelli located the kids, but upset by the fight, he deleted the info and told Sonny he failed, then beat a hasty retreat. At Wyndemere, Nikolas retreated back to the parapet and addressed Emily, saying he was ashamed of taking advantage of Liz's kindness, but he has become a bottomless pit of insatiable need. Suddenly, Molly appeared next to him, asking "Who are you talking to?" Nikolas called Alexis, who was shocked, but agreed it was best if Molly spend the night. Molly explained that she thinks the Cassadines can fix the Kristina/Michael situation. Nik promised to use all his influence to "fix things." And he admitted he had been talking to Emily. Spinelli summoned Diane out of bed to revise his will immediately, because he expected Sonny to kill him when he learns that Spinelli suppressed the location of the kids. Meanwhile, Mac told Alexis that lab tests matched the paint on her car to the one that caused the accident.

In Mexico, Jerry searched the ruined church, but found it dark and empty. Jason and Sam had managed to find a crawl space above the ceiling in which to hide. But Jason was dripping blood — almost on top of Jerry! Eventually, Jerry gave up and left. Jason hobbled back into bed. He reminded Sam that he promised to survive, then passed out. When he awoke, he started talking about Hawaii; he was reliving their vacation. When he was lucid again, Jason resigned himself to dying, but wanted to spend his remaining time with her. "I lived my life the way I wanted to," he noted. "I'm not afraid. I just don't want to leave you."

Back in Port Charles, Robin suggested to Patrick that maybe Brianna's killing wasn't premeditated. Maybe Andrea confronted Brianna, they argued, then Andrea recognized that Brianna was already hurt and decided to hit her in the exact same spot and kill her. Patrick was skeptical, so Robin made them roleplay the whole scenario (with Patrick as a hilarious Andrea). Right after he "killed" her, Andrea appeared on their porch. Andrea said she heard Robin had stopped by her house, so she wanted to give Robin at chance to "ask me anything you want." Patrick made up a story about Robin passing by while jogging that seemed to placate Andrea. Later, Robin resolved to check if anything that could be a murder weapon was missing from the hotel room. At G.H., Andrea got a look at Robin's work schedule.

In Mexico, Sam noted how Jason helped her when she was involved with Sonny and her baby died. He felt bad that she kept getting hurt by being with him. She recalled a beautiful sunset off the coast of Maui. "I don't say it enough, but I love you," Jason said. "I love you too," she replied.

Thursday

At Metro Court, Carly worried about Jason, but Jax shooed her off to her appointment with Kelly. Besides, Kate strolled in, wanting to talk about Crimson. Kate confessed that she had been working with Trevor to launder Zacchara money through the magazine. Giselle found out and has been blackmailing Kate into showing her spreads before publication. But when Spinelli thwarted Kate from delivering that one spread, Giselle threatened to expose everything. Kate offered to resign, but Jax promised to handle everything. At the Laundromat, Olivia told Ronnie to get Dante out of town. Carly happened to pass by and wondered if there was a problem. Both Ronnie and Liv covered, then Olivia accompanied a suspicious Carly to the doctor. Ronnie went to see Johnny, who asked about Anthony. Ronnie said Anthony cannot beat Sonny.

Nikolas brought Molly to Kelly's for breakfast, where she asked him why he was talking to Emily if she's dead.
Meanwhile, upstairs, Rebecca awoke on Dante's bed — she was fully clothed and he was in a chair. They were both hungover, but after a quick tease he admitted nothing happened. She thanked him for not taking advantage, and they decided to go downstairs for breakfast. In Kelly's Molly scolded Nik for putting himself in danger. When Nik saw the disheveled Rebecca and Dante stumble downstairs, he approached her and spat, "You didn't waste any time, did you?" When Nik retuned, Molly recognized Dante as a "messenger." Dante offered to help Rebecca make Nik insanely jealous, then left. When Alexis arrived, Nik defended Molly as having a "gift for putting things into perspective." Rebecca approached, and admitted she's been lying since day one. As Alexis smirked, Rebecca said, it's not like she ran a pregnant woman off the road. Molly had a riding lesson, so she and Alexis left. Then Rebecca left. Later, Lucky told Elizabeth that she should spend as much time with Nik as possible to help him get over Rebecca. Later, at G.H., Monica asked Lucky about Rebecca — who appeared, right on cue. Rebecca apologized, but Monica said, "You are Emily's sister, and that makes you family." Rebecca insisted she's a con, but Monica insisted on welcoming her in the family. So Rebecca agreed to return to the manse. Nik, meanwhile, met with Elizabeth at Wyndemere. She noted they can never kiss again, and must remain apart. Then Lucky arrived to invite Nik and Spencer to a barbecue with the kids.

When Lulu came into the G.H. hub holding her hand on her head, Matt instantly diagnosed her as having glued her hand to her head. Lulu explained that she was fixing a picture frame and spilled glue on her hand. Patrick suggested cutting her hair, which horrified Lulu and Robin. Later, Dominic came by and said he didn't want her brother arresting him to "come between us." She asked, "What do you mean 'us'?" She claimed to have plans with Matt, who played along. After Dante left, Matt applied a solvent he discovered back in college, when he glued his lips shut with a fake mustache.

Dante went to Jake's, where Johnny asked about his arrest: "It's almost as if you knew the cops were gonna let you go." Dante said Sonny has an anti-drug reputation, and he clammed up, so he got let go. Then he asked about Lulu. Johnny said he and Lulu were finished. When Dante asked about Olivia, Johnny made a remark about Liv's skills that prompted Dante to punch out his lights.

Later, Olivia ran into a sobbing Kate in Jax's office. Kate explained about the blackmail, and bemoaned keeping secrets. Jax eavesdropped as Kate said, "It's not fair to lie to Sonny. He deserves to know that you had his son." Kate said Dante is a detective, and urged Liv to tell the truth. "What if Dante is asked to arrest Sonny?" Jax entered and told Kate he bought some time for Crimson. After Kate left, Jax admitted he heard all about Dante the cop, and asked, "How much longer do you think you're going to keep that a secret?"

Friday

After fighting at Jake's, Johnny told Dante he had been trying to praise Olivia, and Dante apologized for being territorial about Lulu. Johnny asked about Dominic moving so quickly from the Zacchara family to the Corinthoses. Dante promised he's not helping Anthony try to regain control. Johnny noted he still hates his father, and Dante pointed out he never knew his father. Meanwhile, Sonny was angry that a glider chair had arrived, but Claudia indulged in the happy memory of buying it. She encouraged him to sit, but he coldly refused. Claudia then told a story about her beloved dog, Duchess, being taken away by Anthony. She maintained she didn't want to forget their son, but Sonny didn't think it was a good idea to create a shrine. Claudia asked what kind of father he was to Michael and Morgan. He recalled reading mystery books to them, and that Morgan likes to build things and Michael loves trains — just like Sonny. He recalled going to a secret place to watch trains when he was little. Claudia admitted she recently daydreamed about their kid growing up and going to school. Sonny abruptly left, and Johnny arrived. When she said she was reminiscing about "my dead baby," Johnny told her to send the chair back. She marveled at the men's ability to turn off their feelings. When he suggested she could never be happy with Sonny, she said Sonny is probably with Olivia. Johnny said Liv is real and decent and honest. At that moment, Olivia was agreeing to continue to keep Jerry's role in Michael's shooting a secret, and Jax praised her decision to keep Dante away from Sonny. "What Sonny doesn't know can't hurt you and Dante," he said. Liv called Dante a lifelong adrenaline junkie, and she worried about him joining the mob until the day he enrolled in the police academy. While there, he busted 17 corrupt officers and brass, because he always does what's right. However, "He doesn't take direction well," she conceded. And he's "cocky and arrogant," just like Sonny. Liv noted that Dante and Sonny do not obviously resemble each other. She begged Jax not to tell Carly, because she would blab to Sonny. Jax warned her that Carly has a way of "stumbling upon he truth." Carly and Morgan arrived at Kelly's to find Dante there. Morgan showed Dante his baseball cards. Olivia walked in and was so shocked to see Dante with Carly that she dropped her bag. Sonny returned home with a large envelope. "You want a divorce?" she wailed. He scoffed and showed her that he set up scholarship — in both of their names — in honor of their son. He doesn't want a divorce.

Nikolas (and Spencer) arrived at Elizabeth and Lucky's barbecue. Nik admitted he didn't listen to Elizabeth's warnings, but he's ready to move on. Lucky wanted to believe that is true, but worried what Nik might do to himself. When it was discovered that there was no cake and ice cream, Lucky took the kids to go get some, leaving Nik and Liz alone. Suddenly, the clouds opened, forcing them to scramble — soaking wet — onto the porch together.

In Mexico, Jason was much-improved (despite his still-raw wounds). She told him that during his fever, babbled about the past. "Was I talking about Hawaii?" he asked. Yes, she said, remembering the little house they had there. He admitted thinking about Hawaii a lot, and they recalled happy times — as well has the pain in his head. He had been prepared to die then, but she convinced him to risk the experimental surgery. "I'll never forget that," he noted, warmly.

At Kelly's Dante helped Olivia pick up her stuff. Olivia mentioned being angry at her son, and Dante warned Morgan never to anger his mother. From a distance, Jax watched their playful banter with interest.
