General Hospital Recaps

GH Week of April 28, 2008

Monday

Coleman (and Robin) listened as Patrick waxed eloquent about Anna at Jake's. When an offended Robin told him she overheard everything, Patrick insisted he's attracted to "the idea" of her mother as "butt-kicking fantasy woman." When Coleman admitted he always found Robin "incredibly hot" — and even more so now that she's pregnant — Patrick shoved him away from his "baby mama." Patrick told Robin, "I'm in love with you," but she insisted, "I'm not hot or exciting." He said she complicates things by over-thinking. Kelly and Lainey walked in just in time to learn "Patrick's hot for your mom?" Coleman put all the ladies' drinks on Patrick's tab. After Patrick got flustered and fled, Lainey confided that men are often attracted to the mothers of the women they love. But Robin moaned that she's nothing like her mother — she's fat, boring and pregnant.

On the docks, Jerry urged Ian to help Spinelli, who appeared to be in agony. Since he'd already missed his boat, Ian agreed to accompany Spinelli to the hospital. At G.H., when Ian tried to leave, Spinelli grabbed him and Maxie injected him with a sedative. They decided to secure his body to keep him from hurting anyone else, so they loaded him on a gurney and rolled him to the morgue, where a suspicious Epiphany confronted them. Maxie claimed she was looking for a private place to have sex with Spinelli, but Epiphany threw them out. Later, they heard the sound of a bone saw from the morgue and feared Ian was being autopsied.

Jax found Morgan trying to call Michael. Then Jerry dropped by, and Jax recapped Michael's situation. He hinted that maybe Carly is sort of starting to accept it. Jerry said she's just being a mother, but Jax worried about Morgan. In fact, Jax took Morgan upstairs to bed. Then Alexis arrived, and Jerry asked her to help Jax. He poured her wine and they flirted shamelessly. He claimed he's not that different from the Cassadines. She warned she might "get down on the floor" with him again. Later, Jax asked Alexis to help him adopt the boys. Max met Diane at Metro Court, where he feared being spotted. She insisted they could spend all night having "hot, sweaty sex" if they wanted — he just has to "man up" with Sonny and decide what's important: His paycheck or his piece...er, peace of mind.

In Sonny's study, Lulu and Sonny discovered that Johnny's bullet had ricocheted off Sonny's own holstered weapon. Sonny baited Johnny, who warned that if Claudia dies, so will Sonny, and fled. Sonny pointed out to Lulu that Johnny is a bad guy, but she defended him. Sonny told her to shut her mouth and leave. He also warned her that she could get caught in the crossfire between him and Johnny — innocents are not safe. After Maxie left, Kate stopped by, and Sonny wondered what's the matter with kids today? Kate suggested just letting go of the bile for a while. "I don't deserve you," he whined. Then they made love. Afterward, he said he cannot change, and revealed that Johnny tried to kill him. Later, Johnny met Lulu at the docks. She asked how she's supposed to forget that he tried to kill Sonny. Johnny admitted wanting him dead, and she's the only reason he stopped shooting.

The shooting had also stopped at the cabin, where Claudia told Jason that Anthony had sent the shooter who hurt Michael. Jason demanded proof, and Claudia vowed to get it — if she survives. She realized that Jason blames himself for letting Michael get shot. He bristled and left her in the cabin. The assassin sneaked in and grabbed her, but instead of killing her quickly, he wanted to have some "fun" with her. She fought back, letting Jason get the drop on him. But the assassin threatened to kill her.

Tuesday

Kate insisted Sonny call the cops on Johnny, but Sonny didn't want Lulu dragged into the case. Also, Johnny might mention being kidnapped by Sonny. But don't think Sonny was feeling conciliatory: "Johnny Zacchara tried to kill me, and I'm gonna kill him." Kate suggested reviving the truce instead of seeking vengeance. She accused him of trying to scare her off. Sonny insisted he cannot change: "My business is my reality. My life is terrible, and it's never gonna change." She told him "violence solves nothing; it only destroys," and he should give the peace a chance. "I can't keep the people I love safe," he wailed. She told him he can choose not to escalate the violence. Then he left for a business appointment. Elsewhere, Johnny told Lulu he had no compassion for Sonny — he only has enemies — and he also regrets picking her up that night. She stormed off.

Jason rescued Claudia from the grip of the assassin at the cabin, but Claudia killed the thug before Jason could question him. She said she did it because the thug was about to rape and kill her — on her own father's orders. She conceded that she owes him, and "I always pay my debts." After Jason checked his motorcycle for booby traps, the pair rode off.

Maxie and Spinelli stopped the coroner, but he was working on some other body; Devlin was gone. Back at the penthouse, Spinelli revealed that he had planted a tracer on Ian. They shared a bottle of orange soda and complimented each other's strengths and skills. Then Lulu arrived. Maxie told her they were busy, but Lulu refused to leave. Maxie prodded Spinelli to ditch Lulu so they could work on their "project," but before she left the girls went outside to argue about which of them was using and abusing Spinelli for their own ends.

Diane paid a visit to The Haunted Star, looking for Max. Lucky arrived with Sam, who wanted to play roulette. She started winning, but her side started hurting because her pain-killers were losing effectiveness. Jerry strolled by to tell her, "I like your mummy." Across the casino, Nikolas bantered with Nadine, who was losing, so they left. Ric asked Logan for a report on Anthony. Logan was willing to team up with Ric against Johnny. Speaking of Johnny, he dropped by for a report. Luke reported he's about to launder $500,000. At the pier, Nikolas told Nadine he's meeting with Alexis to make arrangements in case anything goes wrong with his surgery. He wondered what life will be like when Emily is gone. Nadine was surprised that he was still seeing visions. "Emily was blessed to have been loved so deeply," Nadine said, then withdrew. Meanwhile, Alexis and Mac arrived and ordered the Star shut down. Diane tried to block the DA's action as illegal prior restraint, but Luke was compelled to cooperate. After everyone had cleared out, Sonny visited, and Luke explained he's being audited. Sonny revealed that Lulu saw Johnny try to kill him. Luke lamented that Lulu refuses to avoid mob entanglements. Sonny said seeing his son in a coma is "a slow walk through hell" that he wouldn't wish on anyone. Meanwhile, Johnny had Logan delivered to him on the pier, where he demanded to know what Anthony did with Claudia. When Logan professed ignorance, Johnny slugged him. Logan tried to fight back, but Johnny got the upper hand and gave him a message: If anything happens to Claudia, Ric will pay.

Meanwhile, back at Sonny's place, Ian knocked on the patio door, and Kate answered. He said he was looking for her because he wanted to talk about Michael: "I'm the one who shot him." He figured she doesn't want Sonny to commit a murder in revenge, so if she gives him $1 million tonight, he'll disappear. When he also threatened to kill Sonny, she agreed to wire him the money.

Wednesday

Lulu was already working when Maxie arrived. When Kate arrived, she reprimanded her bickering assistants. While Lulu was in with the boss, Maxie deleted an important e-mail from Lulu's computer. Kate demanded that e-mail, leaving Lulu flustered. Maxie volunteered Spinelli's help in retrieving the budget e-mail. Kate said if one of you messes up, you both mess up. If that e-mail isn't found, they're both fired. Maxie summoned Spinelli to help. When he arrived, Lulu accused Maxie of just using him. Maxie said, "You're not a toy to me," and kissed him — much to Lulu's horror.

Nikolas hosted Nadine for horse-riding on Spoon Island. Afterward, Nadine offered to make dinner for him. Later, Nik entered the Wyndemere ballroom and saw Emily dressed in a beautiful gown.

Tracy found Luke going through piles of cash, and he assured her he can handle the police investigation. Then Lucky arrived to tell him Anthony Zacchara's hearing is today, so Luke should think about leaving town. Elsewhere, Elizabeth arrived at work very late because the kids were not cooperating, and Epiphany reprimanded her. Later, Lucky arrived at the nurses' station, and Liz explained her woes. He offered to take the boys on Saturday. Liz declined, saying she's looking forward to "quality time" with the kids. But maybe Lucky can come over for dinner. Back on The Haunted Star, Sam asked Luke for a job playing cards. Luke hired her as a shill — someone to lure big players into playing big. Sam later went to G.H., where she complained to Epiphany that her pain-killers were no longer working. She overheard Dr. Ford berating Liz for incompetence, because a patient's blood test showed no signs she had certain medication. Back at the Star, Tracy scolded Luke for living dangerously, but he said he didn't want to live forever. He said he doesn't need Tracy's money or her father's booze. "Tracy, I love you," he said.

Claudia told Johnny that someone tried to kill her by tampering with her brakes and then shooting at her. She figured if she testifies against their father, she can keep him locked up. Ric tried to prep Anthony for his trial, but Trevor claimed Anthony was his client. Ric bristled at being forced to battle to become consigliari, but Anthony enjoyed pitting them against each other. In the courtroom, Diane offered to second-chair for Alexis, but the DA balked because of Diane's ties to Sonny. Diane suggested calling Claudia to testify. As the trial began, Alexis introduced Diane as her co-counsel; Ric did the same with Trevor. Then Spinelli objected! The judge allowed Spinelli to talk, but when he descended into frantic accusations against Anthony, the jurist tossed him out. Alexis argued that Anthony knew the difference between right and wrong at the time of his B&W Ball rampage, so he should legally subject to answer charges. Ric argued that Anthony is a victim of slander, and medical experts say he is now sane and ready to go home to his family. Claudia looked on in disgust. Alexis then called Claudia to the stand. She said she went to Europe at age 16, when Anthony was already showing signs of metal instability. Now, that she's been back, he seems fine. Alexis asked if he threatened her life.

Thursday

Spinelli was still reeling from Maxie's kiss when Lulu warned him, "You're just Maxie's latest sucker." Maxie insisted Lulu simply hates her. The Jackal was able to retrieve the deleted e-mail and save the women's jobs. "Your brain is a thing of awe and wonder," Maxie gushed. Then Lulu hugged him. Dr. Devlin called to warn Kate he's going to need more money in the future to keep quiet about her role in helping him leave town. Then Sonny strolled in (unannounced, natch). Kate assured him she is not walking out on their relationship. He revealed that he spent the morning at Michael's bedside, and in his heart he doesn't think his son will recover. Sonny doesn't know what he would do if he lost her, too. Later, Maxie told Kate, "There's a million dollars missing from your operating account."

Tracy told Luke, "You are my favorite mistake," and insisted she won't divorce him. "We are the match from hell," he agreed. She advised him to sever tiers to the mob — just as Sonny arrived. Sonny said Tracy is right: Trusting the Zaccharas is dangerous. If Anthony gets released, tensions will rise — and The Haunted Star will be caught in the middle. Luke vowed to remain neutral. Meanwhile, on the witness stand, Claudia declined to tell Alexis whether Anthony threatened her. She admitted to having "a little car trouble," but didn't suspect her father had cut her brake lines. "I had a date" with a friend in a cabin in the woods, she lied. Diane abruptly took over the questioning from Alexis, and asked if Anthony had ever threatened her, either directly or indirectly. "Of course not — my Daddy loves me," she smiled. The judge dismissed Claudia and promptly ruled that Anthony previously did not have the capacity to understand right or wrong, but now that doctors have certified Anthony sane, he must be released from "protective custody" immediately. Afterward, Anthony enjoyed watching Ric and Trevor snipe. Trevor warned Ric to sever ties to Anthony now, but of course Ric stubbornly resisted. Back in Crimson Point, Claudia insisted she had helped free Anthony in order to make him trust her as part of a plan. She suggested faking a rift with Johnny in order to make Anthony think he had succeeded in driving them apart. Meanwhile, Anthony had Logan bring him to the Star, to talk business with "partner" Luke. Anthony applauded his son buying into the casino as a great place to launder money, but was concerned that Johnny had other motives for buying in. On cue, Lulu strolled in.

Back at Sonny's place, Max told Sonny that the partners in Puerto Rico are withholding shipments, and Jason brought word that Anthony was just freed. Then Diane arrived, and Sonny scolded her for mooning over Max instead of concentrating on job. Sonny ordered Max sent to Puerto Rico permanently. Sonny kept berating Diane, and that compelled Max to speak up: "Keep your nose out of my personal life, please," he demanded. Diane suggested that Sonny stop dating Kate — or, better yet, "Tell Jason not to date Claudia Zacchara!"

At Wyndemere, Nikolas invited Emily to share a last dance. "You make me so happy," she gushed, and they kissed. "Our good times far outweigh our bad," she added, noting that her teenage fantasies had come true. He felt cheated out of a happy ending, but Emily called that a fairy tale — they had a real love affair. He suggested he'd rather die than live without her. "Live for me instead," she pleaded. "Stopping your life isn't going to honor what we shared." She told him to meet someone and allow himself to love again. "I promise I will keep you in my heart for the rest of my life," he vowed. Then came a musical montage of memorable moments — including Nik confessing his love while dressed as Capt. Jack Sparrow, and their wedding. Finally, he slowly let go of her hand, and stood alone.

Friday

As Patrick tried to convince Robin he isn't attracted to her mother, Anna dropped him like a sack of potatoes. Robin told Anna that Patrick thinks Anna is hotter than her; Patrick tried to talk his way out of it, but merely dug himself in deeper, so he limped away. Anna called being a grandmother "the antithesis of hot," and left in a tizzy. Patrick returned later to tell Robin that Michael's condition is "permanent," and it made him think. He realized, "I'm not as detached as I thought I would be." He understood that parents become attached to what happens to children, good and bad. Robin said not to let fear of something bad happening to children paralyze him.

Diane told Sonny how Claudia intimated to the court that she had spent the night with Jason. When alone, Jason explained that he saved Claudia from a hit because he thought she had info about Michael's shooter. As Sonny left, he ran into Diane and Max making out. He told her to set up an alibi in case Jason gets the chance to take out Michael's shooter. If she does that, Max can stay. At Crimson Point, Claudia told Johnny she "rearranged" some facts.
Aboard The Haunted Star, Anthony gave Lulu the standard GENERAL HOSPITAL speech: Johnny's lifestyle is not good for women — they become targets or emotional casualties. "It would be best to end things now," he said. "I couldn't agree more," she replied, saying she didn't want to watch Anthony ruin Johnny. Luke didn't buy Lulu's line, but she assured him she was through with the thug. Tracy arrived and demanded Luke get out of business with the mob, but he refused. Anna burst in, "looking for some action." Tracy gloated that the city shut down the casino. Luke offered to open a table, so Tracy stormed out. (She rushed to tell Robin that her mother was hitting on Luke.) Anna and Luke played an inventive game of roulette: If the ball lands on black, she drinks; red, he drinks. If it lands on green, they both remove an item of clothing, and "first one naked wins!" Anna admitted she's happy for her daughter, but upset that Robin becoming a mother makes her a granny. Luke said grandkids hold up a mirror no one should have to look into. He advised her to keep being herself — only moreso.

Anthony returned to Crimson Point and thanked his children for helping get him released. He asked if Claudia took the shot at Michael, but she denied it. A chuckling Trevor noted everyone wants Sonny dead — especially Ric. After sending the Lansings away, Anthony apologized for sending Claudia to Milan, and for leaving Johnny to Trevor's tender mercies. Then Anthony barred Claudia from the family business — "the Zaccharas don't involve their women" — and threw her out.

Maxie burst into the penthouse and asked Spinelli to help her find the $1 million missing from the Crimson account. When Jason returned home looking for a line on Ian, Spinelli said the missing million was wired to Ian's account. Jason threw Maxie out, so she went to hide in Jason's SUV. Spinelli tracked Ian's movements to Sonny's place. Jason theorized a connection between Ian and Kate. Then, Spinelli found an ATM withdrawal in Canada. To the Mobmobile!

Carly was at Michael's bedside when Elizabeth entered. Carly told her she understands why Elizabeth felt the need to protect Jake from Jason's lifestyle. Later, Sonny arrived to hear the specialists' prognosis. Jason told them that the specialists concurred that Michael is in a deep coma and cannot be awakened. Carly was hopeful, but Patrick said there's only a 1-in-10,000 chance of recovery. He's not brain dead, but he won't wake up. Sonny urged her to accept the grim verdict, and he has to accept that "this is my fault." Carly hoped that Michael is dreaming, and that he would beat the odds. She rushed into the hall and broke down crying, so Sonny comforted her.
