GH Week of April 21, 2008
Monday
Carly talked to Michael as though he were about to wake up, but Patrick explained that Michael simply had an involuntary reaction when his eyes opened. Carly barked at Patrick that he doesn't know her son and that Michael is getting better. Jax acknowledged that Michael isn't making progress and tried to make Carly see the same. Meanwhile, naked Dr. Devlin was shaking as Jerry was about to shoot him in the family jewels. Jerry made his threat clear: He'll put a bullet in Ian's head if anyone finds out he was tied to Michael's shooting.
At the warehouse, Kate tried to talk Sonny out of waiting for his next assassination attempt. Diane showed up and Kate left them to their business. Diane advised Sonny to let Kate go because the fashion world could not afford to lose her, but Sonny wasn't too pleased to hear the pot calling the kettle black and brought up her affair with Max. Sonny summoned Max and grilled him about the affair. Max was happy to compliment Diane on her sexual prowess but Diane argued that this is none of Sonny's business. Sonny brought up Alexis and how she had gone soft since having a kid. Diane snapped that if Sonny had used some protection in the heat of the moment then she might not have gotten pregnant! Sonny received a call and dragged Max off with him. As they walked away, Diane motioned for Max to call her.
Nikolas admitted to Jason that he wired Ian the money because it was the only way for him to see Emily. He went on about his first vision of Emily and how he could see, hear and feel her. Jason didn't understand why Nikolas couldn't get the same medication from Patrick or Robin and realized that Devlin was providing Nik with illegal drugs. After Nikolas left, Jason looked seriously troubled by this latest discovery. Jax soon arrived and asked Jason if he could try to talk some sense into Carly.
At the Zacchara compound, Claudia begged Ric not to have her father released. Johnny backed up his sister's fear that Anthony is a plague on society, but Ric was determined and headed out to offer Logan a job as Anthony's bodyguard. Knowing that Ric's got the goods on his dishonorable discharge, Logan accepted. Johnny and Claudia later recalled their father sending Claudia away to keep the kids apart. Johnny promised her that Anthony would never hurt her again. Their tearful moment was interrupted when Kate came by and threatened to ruin Claudia in the press. Sonny arrived just as Claudia called Kate a "skinny bitch." A brief exchange between Kate and Sonny sent Kate on her way, while Sonny asked Claudia out for a date. Meanwhile, an unusually sweet Anthony told a nurse all about his wonderful son, just as Johnny walked in and told him to drop the act. With the nurse out of the room, Anthony was back to spitting venom and suggested that Claudia would be better off dead.
Spinelli snuck around the curiously empty nurses' station and ran into Fair Samantha. He explained that he was looking for an update on Michael, perhaps some glimmer of hope. Maxie arrived and interrupted Spinelli's mission to demand his help with another crisis. He took her to Dr. Devlin's grungy apartment and when they heard someone coming in, he hid. Ian was surprised to find Maxie standing in his apartment but recognized her from the hospital. She began to explain that she finds him very mysterious and hot. He said he prefers brunettes but this will really save him a call to the escort service. "Make me forget your hair color," he said as he went in for a kiss.
Sam showed up at Michael's hospital room and asked Carly if there's anything she can do to help. Carly insisted that Michael is on the road to recovery and that he doesn't want Sam's sympathy. Jax returned and found a still-in-denial Carly sitting vigil. Patrick came in and handed Carly a list of specialists who could give her a second opinion and informed her that Robin will take over Michael's case in the meantime. Robin advised Carly that it's time to consider Michael's long-term care plan. Sam ran into Jason outside and expressed her sympathy for what's happened to Michael. He asked her what she can tell him about Dr. Devlin, like what brought him here. Sam said she knows he went to med school with Dr. Drake but that was about it.
Tuesday
Carly informed Robin that the only long-term care she'd be arranging for Michael would be with her. Jax went outside to discuss the situation privately with Patrick and Robin. Patrick laid out all the things the facility can do for Michael that Carly can't. Jax returned to the room to broach the subject with Carly, while Robin admitted to Patrick that she's scared for Michael. Later, Robin shared a heart-to-heart with Elizabeth about her child-rearing fears. Elizabeth told Robin she'll do the best she can.
Johnny told his dad that there's no way he's getting released. Anthony insisted that he had recovered and the sooner Johnny embraces that fact, the easier it will be for him to survive. Ric arrived and introduced Anthony to his new bodyguard, Logan.
Claudia turned down Sonny's offer to go on a "date" and said she wants nothing to do with him. Sonny asked just how far she's willing to go to protect her brother. Claudia deduced that Sonny was trying to use her as a human shield. Before leaving, Sonny threatened that if she or Johnny had anything to do with Michael's shooting, God help her. Johnny came in and Claudia recounted her conversation with Sonny. She suggested that Sonny's getting bored with Kate and wants to sleep with her again. Johnny informed Claudia that he saw Anthony, who was certain of his impending release. For her own safety, Johnny suggested that she go back to Italy. Claudia said there's no way she'll leave John now that they're finally together again.
Sam admitted to Jason that Dr. Devlin had exhibited some creepy, flirtatious behavior with her and wondered if he has something to hide. Spinelli called from the Dastardly Doc's closet and warned Jason that Maxie was alone with Ian. Maxie tried to explain her way out of breaking into Ian's room and lied that she's doing a piece on hot doctors for Kate's magazine. Ian didn't buy a word of what she was saying but tried to get her to have a drink with him. She offered to keep his felonious behavior with hookers from her police commissioner dad. Before Devlin could do anything totally creepy, Jason arrived and whisked Maxie out of there. Spinelli managed to get out of the closet unseen, but back at Jason's, Maxie wanted to know what evidence they're looking for. Meanwhile, Sam paid Devlin a visit to try to get a better handle on what he's hiding. Over a drink, Ian told Sam that his life is complicated and he can't trust just anybody. After receiving a call from Claudia, he lied to Sam that he had a previous commitment must attend.
Diane told Alexis what Sonny said earlier about Alexis's "emotional collapse" after Kristina's death and lamented that Alexis's history with Sonny is preventing her from being with Max. Alexis was furious that Diane and Sonny had discussed her one-night stand. Diane was more concerned about her future with Max and asked Alexis to talk some sense into Sonny. Ric arrived with the shocking news that he is representing Anthony.
Outside Michael's hospital room, Carly overheard Sonny say, "So that's it?" when Jax explained to him about the possibility of a long-term care facility. Sonny asked for a moment alone with Michael and acknowledged to his son that he knows Michael's not mentally aware of what's going on. Sonny told Michael that wherever he is right now, Sonny hopes he's happy. Sonny suggested that Carly consider the long-term care facility, but she insisted that Michael was getting better. Robin and Patrick took Michael for more tests, and Jax tried to convince Carly to take some time away from the hospital. "I can't do anything. I can't leave. Michael needs me," she insisted.
Sonny returned to the coffeehouse and broke up the mini lawyers' convention going on in his office. When Ric was gone, Sonny warned Alexis and Diane that once Anthony is free, things are going to get a lot uglier. Spinelli told Jason that with all the money he'd received from Nikolas, there's no way he plans to stay in that rat hole of an apartment. Jason advised him to keep looking for more large deposits in Devlin's account. Johnny and Claudia went to see Ian and offered to pay him $1 million to leave town. Ian argued that running will only prove his guilt to Jason, who will inevitably come after him. Ian also threatened to rat out Claudia if Jason does attempt to kill him.
Wednesday
Nikolas went for a walk outside to find Nadine tending to his horse. Nik
shared that he always enjoyed riding. They then discussed Emily. He insisted
that his and Emily's love was still strong; Nadine tried to make him
understand that Em is dead. Nik replied that he literally can't live without Emily. Later, "Emily" visited him and she urged him to be there for his son.
At the hospital, Michael was still unconscious as Jason and Carly sat with him. Elizabeth said that he was stable. Before heading out, Liz gave Jason a lingering look. Carly still had hope that her son would wake up and was disappointed when Jason didn't share her belief. He noted that he never really recovered from his brain injury and urged her to be prepared for a change in Michael, if he were to awaken. Carly refused to imagine her life without Michael. Later the specialists arrived and informed Jax and Carly that it was unlikely that Michael would make a full recovery. Carly still insisted that her son would get better.
Anthony got a surprise when Logan wheeled him into his hospital room and Claudia was waiting for him. Ric arrived and insisted that Claudia stay away from her father. Ric explained that he was doing it for Anthony's
protection, but Anthony wasn't sure if he should believe him. Claudia
accused Ric of lying and concluded that he's working for Sonny. Before she was escorted out of the room, she warned her father to be careful. After,
she called Jason and asked him to meet her.
Also at the hospital, Sam flirted with Ian. They went home to his place for
a night cap. He became nervous when she questioned him about his past and
accused her of spying on Jason's behalf. Later, Ian told Nikolas he found a new drug that will allow Nik to see Emily indefinitely.
Patrick was alarmed when he found Robin standing in her apartment hallway, screaming. She explained that she was frustrated because she left her keys and was becoming so absentminded with her pregnancy. The super let her in. She was embarrassed that she couldn't even remember how to pick a lock. Patrick tried to be encouraging, but Robin continued to complain about having swollen ankles — and flatulence. Later after Patrick left, Liz brought by a box of baby clothes for Robin. The ladies shared a nice moment as Robin noted that she knows how Liz lost a friend after Emily died — but
that she's there for Liz. Liz wondered how Robin got over breaking up with
Jason. Liz then shared that she'd wanted to have a life with Jason, but
things have been strained since Michael got shot. Robin didn't really have any good advice for her, but was sympathetic.
Claudia asked Jason to meet her by the overlook. She then crashed, but Jason
got her out of the car safely... In the hospital, Anthony was informed that
the ambush against Claudia didn't go as planned. Anthony ordered his men to kill both of them and the bullets began to fly.
Thursday
Robin was surprised to receive a call from Anna and vented to Patrick that
she doesn't know how to tell her mother that she's pregnant. Patrick thought Robin was overreacting a bit. Later, Robin heard a noise in her living room. Assuming it was Patrick returning, she remarked that she's pregnant, not helpless. However, it wasn't Patrick entering — it was Anna, who screamed when she heard the news.
In the park, Nikolas cut Ian off and said he's through with the experimental drug. Ian was desperate for the cash and Nik noticed. Emily was standing nearby and told Nik she was proud of the way he shut Ian down. She then reiterated to Nikolas that he needs to move on with his life for Spencer's sake. Nikolas cried that it's not fair that he has to give her up. Emily replied that just because she's gone, they are not over. Back at the
hospital, Nadine chastised Ian about selling Nikolas illegal drugs. He
grabbed her arm and threatened her to keep silent, then stormed off.
In the woods, Jason and Claudia were caught under sniper fire. Claudia
assumed the hit was put out on her by her own father. They argued as they
ducked bullets. Jason covered so he and Claudia could get into a nearby
cabin. However, the sniper continued the barrage of bullets.
At the Crimson offices, Maxie impressed Kate with her fashion knowledge. Kate corrected Maxie and Lulu's youthful vocabulary and she gave them a list of celebs she wants in attendance at the launch party. After Kate walked out, Spinelli showed up. Both girls thought he was there to see them but Spinelli was actually there to see Kate about the Crimson blog. After he left, Kate gave Maxie her address book containing tons of loose papers with names and numbers. When Kate went back into her office, the girls fought over the address book, and the papers went flying. Kate later advised Maxie to spend her evening getting better equated with the alphabet. Meanwhile, Lulu left work to meet with Johnny down on the piers, where she accused him of playing games.
At the coffeehouse, Alexis asked Sonny for help to prevent Ric from getting Anthony Zacchara released. Just then, Diane burst in and demanded that Alexis talk some sense into Sonny regarding her "association" with Max. Alexis tried to advise Diane that this was not the time or the place. Diane pointed out Alexis was jealous. "A little," Alexis admitted, but she advised Diane there's a better way to deal with Sonny.
Sonny went to see Kate. He mentioned that he agreed with a comment Alexis
had made earlier — that Kate is too smart and savvy to be with a guy like Sonny. Kate reassured Sonny that she loves him but he was still racked with guilt over Michael's shooting.
At the hospital, Ric instructed Anthony on what to say at his hearing when
Johnny stormed in, demanding to know where Claudia was. Johnny claimed that he and Claudia want what's best for him. Ric scoffed but Anthony wasn't sure if Johnny was lying or not. Ric told Anthony that he can't trust his kids as far as he can throw them. Then, Sonny showed up to talk to Ric. He asked Ric not to set Anthony loose just to spite Trevor — or else everyone will pay.
Spinelli opened up and sought romantic advice from Diane. She advised him to be a real man, to fight for the woman he loves and to sweep her off her feet. Spinelli rushed out in a frenzy, leaving Diane all smiles. Spinelli rushed back to Crimson, where seeing Maxie modeling a low-cut, designer gown got him all flustered. Then, he accidentally touched one of "the girls."
Nikolas went to G.H., where he saw Nadine and teased her about her "Clown bag." Nik told her he was done with Ian's drugs and planned to reschedule his surgery. Nadine was pleased.
Friday
At the cabin and trapped by an unseen sniper, Claudia demanded to know what Jason wanted in return for saving her life — and was surprised that he could read. As they awaited the assassin's next move, Jason remained quiet while Claudia opened up about her life as a Zaccharan youth.
At her apartment, Robin calmed a hyperventilating Anna, who was shocked to hear her daughter was pregnant. Anna refused to let Robin use the "G-word." Anna said she was thrilled and apologized for her initial reaction. Robin told Anna the story of HIV-positive mother Stacey (from last summer's run of GH: NIGHT SHIFT). Robin expressed her admiration and admitted Stacey was her inspiration to carry a child. Robin then explained the circumstances of how she conceived to her mom. Patrick arrived and the trio decided to go to Jake's for a drink. "Humor her," Robin advised Patrick. Anna stated that she had an important work page which needed to be addressed but promised she'd be back. They hugged and Anna slipped out. Robin went to Jake's, where
she overheard Patrick telling Coleman how hot Anna was.
On the docks, Johnny and Lulu argued about their push/pull relationship.
Lulu suggested that rather give in to Anthony, they could fight him,
instead. Despite the danger, Lulu said, "Choose me."
At Crimson, Spinelli apologized for touching Maxie's "girls." She was upset
but was more worried about the dress being damaged and swore him to secrecy that she'd tried it on. Maxie asked him to help get her out of it. Spinelli gaped as he proceeded, while Maxie enjoyed Spinelli's compliments. Then, Spinelli got an answer back to his trace that Claudia was planning to leave town, which linked her to Ian. As Lulu returned to work, Spinelli and Maxie ran out in search of Ian.
At the mental hospital, Sonny practically begged Ric not to get Anthony released. Ric was angry that Sonny only plays the brother card when he wants something. Ric said that getting Anthony free benefits him so why should he listen? Sonny warned Ric that when the bodies start piling up, "Don't come to me!" and stormed out.
Ian told Patrick that he's leaving Port Charles for good but before heading
out, he advised Patrick to man up and do what's right for Robin and their
baby. Later, at the docks, Spinelli and Maxie called Mac and they staged a
medical emergency in order to keep Ian from leaving town.
Kate chided Sonny for not hiring more guards. Sonny replied that he's
waiting for the Zacchara's to come after him. Kate told Sonny he should be pulling back from a mob war, not starting one. "I'm not taking action,
Kate," he huffed. "I'm inviting it."
Alexis showed up at G.H. with Kristina, who'd bumped her head. Kristina
asked for Daddy Ric, so Elizabeth called him and asked him to come by. At G.H., Ric informed Elizabeth that he was working to release Anthony in order to get back at Trevor.... A flustered Kate realized she left her PDA at Sonny's and sent Lulu to retrieve it. Meanwhile, Johnny learned Claudia was missing and burst into Sonny's pointing a gun at him. Just then, Lulu arrived as Johnny fired a shot at Sonny.
