General Hospital Recaps
GH Week of April 12, 2010
Monday
At the PCPD, Alexis went to visit Mac — and confessed that she hit Kiefer with her car. In the interrogation room, Alexis told Mac everything. She confessed that she didn't hit him on purpose — she was too paralyzed with fear regarding Kristina. Mac told Alexis he was going to arrest her, release her on her own recognizance, and she was going to get a lawyer and they'd take it one day at a time.
At the hospital, Ethan shouted at Kristina after she blamed him for running down Kiefer. Lucky advised Ethan to calm down. "Thanks for that support, brother," Ethan shrugged. Lucky assured Kristina that what Kiefer did was not her fault. Maya was affected as she listened in.
In court, Dante burst in and told the judge he was out of order for allowing 12-year-old Morgan to testify against his own father. The judge promptly had Dante arrested for his display. Morgan spoke up in his brother's defense. Carly pulled Morgan off the stand, citing that her son was removed from school without her consent. The judge allowed Carly to take Morgan home.
Ethan returned to The Haunted Star = and saw Luke and Tracy. Ethan mentioned that he and Lucky weren't seeing eye-to-eye. Lucky showed up, and told Ethan that he has to stop lashing out. "This is not about you," Lucky stated. Luke mediated his sons' squabble.
Alexis returned to the hospital and asked how her counseling session went. "Not that great," Kristina sighed. Alexis assured her daughter it would take time until things got better, but it would happen. Alexis then broke the news about hitting Kiefer. "Did you hit him on purpose?" Krissy asked. Alexis explained what happened and Kristina believed her. "What's going to happen now?" Kristina wondered aloud. Alexis admitted she confessed and that they needed to have faith.
In chambers, the judge chastised the attorneys for creating a circus. The judge fined Claire for her breach of ethics and warned that if the showboating doesn't stop, he'll declare a mistrial.
Carly and Jason took Morgan home. They were upset that Ronnie tried to manipulate Morgan in court. Lulu arrived and Morgan broke the news that Dante had been arrested. Lulu took off, and Jason told Morgan that he deserved a life better than all of this.
At the PCPD, Ronnie chastised Dante for his actions in court. Sonny followed and wanted to talk to Dante. As Dante cooled off in a cell, Sonny visited his son and suggested an "alternative." Sonny suggested that Dante leave the police force. Later, Lulu arrived, and Ronnie told her to remind Dante that his father is a cop killer. Lulu visited her jailed beau. They kissed between the bars.
Jax chastised Claire for the stunt she pulled with Morgan. Claire countered with Jax's record, saying he's not one to talk.... Mac called Lucky and informed him about Alexis's confession. Lucky broke the news that Ethan was cleared in the hit and run. Ethan grouched but Luke pointed out that Lucky was one of the few to give him a fair shake. Lucky suggested that Ethan apologize to Kristina. Luke said while that was necessary, people needed to start apologizing to Ethan first.
At the PCPD, Mac informed Melinda Bauer that Alexis confessed to running down Kiefer. Melinda went straight to the hospital and accused Alexis of murder.... Just as Sonny told Jason they need to do something about Claire, she arrived at the restaurant to offer Sonny a deal.
Tuesday
Lulu was disgusted that Sonny is walking around free while Dante is cooling his heels in lock-up. Dante said he would do it again, but regretted that Morgan saw him in handcuffs. When Lulu figured out that Sonny asked Dante to work for him, she said she would still love him he was not a cop. He complimented her with more of his trademark cheesy lines, making her laugh. He said he wants kids someday. Just then, Olivia came in, beaming with pride — and bearing a care package featuring clean socks and underwear — which mortified Dante! She sang his praises and kissed him. Lulu apologized for being rude to Liv previously, and praised her for raising Dante on her own. Then she abruptly left.
Melinda blamed Kristina for Kiefer's death, calling her a liar and Alexis a murderer. Alexis got into a screaming match with her while Kristina wept. Finally, Maya stopped by to break it up. Melinda promised that Alexis will pay. Meanwhile, Jax told Carly he never intended for Morgan to be hurt — and she pointed out that's what Sonny says, noting destroying Sonny appears more important to him than Josslyn. He insisted he knows what it means to be a father ever since Josslyn was born, prompting Carly to accuse him of loving the boys less. She railed that he demands loyalty and honesty from her without giving it. "We're falling apart," she said. "And every time you hurt my kids I love you a little less." She left. Jax made a call to get Claire yanked from the case. Alexis arrived, and asked Jax to keep Warren and Melinda away from Kristina — and admitted she killed Kiefer. At G.H., Maya delivered food to Kristina. Then Ethan arrived and apologized for not behaving like an adult with her. Outside, Maya called Ethan a "bad boy with a heart of gold." In her room, Kristina was reviewing messages from Kiefer when Warren appeared. He detailed the happy plans he had for Kiefer — but now he's making funeral arrangements. "You were a disaster," he said, insisting lied about the beatings. He described the gory details of Kiefer's painful, lonely death, which made her cry. She insisted she loved Kiefer and that Ethan is innocent. Warren pointed out that she never reported any previous beatings, so she must be lying now to protect her mother. Jax came in with Alexis, and Warren warned her, "Your life is over as you know it!" Jax dragged him out, and insisted Kristina is not to blame. Kristina asked if Alexis is going to prison, and Alexis calmed her.
Claire detailed her offer to Sonny: He cops to five counts of RICO violations and gets 10 years in prison — of which he will serve five. Sonny called her desperate. Claire threatened to call Kristina to the stand, which made Sonny fume. Claire pointed out that if he were as a good a father as he claims, he would take the offer. Sonny wanted to see Morgan before deciding. Later, Carly visited Jason at the restaurant, worried that she might fail Sonny on the witness stand. "I believe in you," he said. Morgan asked to visit Dante, but Sonny...er, barred him. Sonny insisted he is proud of both Morgan and Dante. Morgan dreamed of going to Yankee Stadium as a family. Lulu visited Carly, and confided her fear that Dante's opinion of her will change when he finds out about her abortion. Claire visited Dante, who said her plan to push Sonny's buttons worked. Meanwhile, Sonny despaired the only way to protect his family is to take Claire's deal. Jason reminded Sonny that between his claustrophobia and his enemies, he will never survive prison. So Jason volunteered to take the deal in his place. "I'm a win for Claire," Jason insisted.
Wednesday
Nikolas rifled through Lucky's blues CDs, observing he's becoming more like Luke. Lucky didn't want to rehash their Elizabeth drama. Luckily, Nik was there for cop advice! He related Alexis' whole Kiefer conundrum and Lucky explained the Bauers' rationale. Meanwhile, at GH, Steve assigned Elizabeth to the terminal ward, much to her dismay. Then, she met her eccentric new patient, Shirley (Michael Learned). They bonded over their love of the arts and Liz was stricken to realize Shirley only has 8-12 weeks to live. Outside, Lucky found a free lamp out on the curb and Maxie ran up, calling dibs! They bantered over ownership and Maxie offered him "visitation rights." Maxie surmised Lucky saw the lamp as a metaphor for his post-Elizabeth darkness. "No, I see it as a lamp," he grinned. Elsewhere, Helena made a call about the paternity of Liz's baby, and Tracy walked up on the tail end. Tracy warned Helena off involving Luke in another Spencer/Cassadine feud. They traded barbs in classic fashion (complete with Helena taking potshots at "strumpet" Elizabeth). Back in the alley, Maxie felt like her affair with Lucky might have led to his current woes. He asked her to save the analysis, and they took the lamp back to his digs to see if it would fit. Maxie admired what Lucky had done with the place (a major upgrade from when Patrick had it). Back at GH, Patrick, Robin and Steve discussed Lisa's absence due to Sonny's trial and Lisa sent a note from the hotel inviting them all out to a night at Jake's. Liz appeared and thanked Steve for her new rotation. Back at Lucky's, Maxie made him move the lamp all over. "You can't rush feng shui!" she insisted. Naturally, in the middle of their domestic cuteness, Elizabeth knocked on the door! Awk.Ward.
Spinelli wondered if Carly had heard from Jason, as he'd been acting strangely. "We're all on edge," shrugged off Carly. Spin then explained further about how Jason put his affairs in order. Meanwhile, Jason told Sam of his intention to go to jail for Sonny, saying he'd plead guilty to RICO violations and would go away for 10 years. "What about us?" she asked him. "You're just willing to give that all away?" Jason explained about Morgan being put on the stand. Sam played the Jake card. "Jake doesn't need me right now," Jason said. "I do!" Sam countered, stricken by how willing Jason was to sacrifice himself -- and her -- for Sonny. Her mother and sister were in crisis and she needed Jason! Jason apologized and Sam told him he could go. Later, at Sonny's restaurant/office, Carly demanded Jason 'fess up. She didn't like his plan one bit. And if Jason went to prison, she'd blame Jax forever and ever. Bottom line: Carly refused to lose Jason. Diane walked in on the tense confab. Jason insisted to Carly, "We're done!" and told his lawyer his plan. Diane escorted Jason to the station and asked Claire for the details of the deal. Back at the office, Carly and Spinelli commiserated over Jason's boneheaded decision. Meanwhile, at the PCPD, Jason asked Claire to offer him the deal.
Alexis got Kristina ready to leave the hospital, but Krissy was hesitant, given the Bauers tearing a strip off her. Alexis praised Kristina's strength in dealing with everything, assuring her she'd be there for her. Kristina still blamed herself for her mother's plight and Kiefer's death. Later, Nikolas conferred with Alexis about her legal situation and Krissy and offered to try and get through to his cousin. He went into Krissy’s hospital room and asked for her help. Sure enough, he got her back to Wyndemere. There, he asked for Kristina's expert advice on dealing with Spencer. Kristina and
Spencer hit it off, talking about riding! They went off to the stables and Alexis thanked Nikolas for making her daughter smile. Then, Helena showed up, and the one-liners flew fast and furious between her and Alexis. (Unsurprisingly, Helena actually approved of Alexis turning Kiefer into a hood ornament.) Helena insisted it "takes a village" to raise Nikolas' child. Nik assured Alexis he knows exactly what his psycho granny is up to!
Thursday
Helena pointed out to Nikolas that both Alexis and Elizabeth have three children by three different fathers, and are mentally unstable. She and Alexis traded threats. Later, Helena confided to Nik that she was outraged that Mikkos' granddaughter Kristina was beaten, so she wants to watch out for the new generation of Cassadines. Nik resolved to raise his kids with all rights and privileges they are entitled to. Meanwhile, at Lucky's, Maxie traded barbs about infidelity with Elizabeth, who dropped by with a permission slip for the boys to go on a field trip. Liz complimented Lucky's place, and Maxie took credit. After Liz stormed off, Maxie warned Lucky that Elizabeth will use Cameron and Jake against him. Lucky assure her that he knows what Liz is doing. Elizabeth went to the hospital and unloaded on Shirley about Lucky and "that slutty blonde." The terminal Shirley told her, "Don't give up the fight!"
At Jake's, Patrick and Steve drank on Lisa's tab, and reminisced about the good ol' days, wishing Lisa was there to "howl at the moon" with them. Then Olivia strolled in, looking to "howl at the moon." And shoot darts. When Robin showed up, she was immediately suspicious of Olivia hanging with Patrick. He invited her to shoot darts, but she declined. He asked if she was fretting that Sonny will "get what he deserves." Johnny took Liv aside to tell her he's working on a secret project "you're really gonna like."
At the restaurant, Carly demanded Sonny explain why he's letting Jason go to jail in his place. Sonny insisted he didn't sanction Jason's actions. Carly lamented that Sonny never sees the way she and Jason twist themselves into knots to protect Sonny. Sonny said she relies on Jason to clean up her messes. Carly considered messing up her testimony to send him away. Meanwhile, at PCPD, Claire balked at Jason's offer. Diane tried to sell it, so Claire said Jason has to surrender himself immediately, so he doesn't escape. Jason asked Dante why it's more important to convict Sonny than protect his brothers. Dante noted that Michael learned kidnapping, blackmail and murder from Jason and Sonny. Jason accused Dante of exploiting his siblings, and suggested that if Sonny goes to jail the kids will hate him. Calling from Sonny's island, Michael told Kristina that Kiefer deserved to die for hitting her, and he wants to come home, but she urged him to stay put. Then Jax arrived on the island, looking to reassure Michael that Kristina is okay. Michael lamented not being able to help his dad. Back at the restaurant, Carly was worrying about Morgan being recalled to the stand when Claire appeared and asked why "devoted father" Sonny isn't taking the deal? Claire explained that Jason's offer is a non-starter because her bosses only want Sonny. "I don't want the damn deal," Sonny raged. Claire returned to PCPD and dismissed Jason, who wondered why the law isn't protecting the innocent Morgan. "I agree with him," Dante snarled. Dante went straight to Sonny and told him that Morgan is headed back to the witness stand because Sonny is only looking out for himself. Sonny insisted he is not going to jail for something he didn't do. Dante observed, "If I didn't know any better, Sonny, I'd think you didn't kill Claudia." Jason returned to the restaurant and told Carly that since his gambit failed, everything rides on her testimony. Meanwhile, Mac told Ronnie that Jax landed his private plane on Sonny' private island, so Michael must be there. Jax told Michael that Sonny's actions led to Claudia's death, but Michael doesn't want him to go to jail for something he didn't do. Michael realized Jax wants Michael to say it's okay to send his father to jail. Back in Port Charles, Sonny watched as Dante assured Morgan that his badge is in no danger, so Morgan can testify however he wants.
Friday
Dante gave Morgan a pep talk about testifying and warned Claire he wouldn't let her steamroll his little brother. Mac and Ronnie talked about getting Michael to court and Ronnie noted they needed to keep Dante out of the loop because Sonny was getting to him. On the island, Jax and Michael had a heart-to-heart about the whole situation. Michael noted that he understood Jax fighting for Morgan and Josslyn, but he'd missed that opportunity with Michael. Sonny is his father, and he'd always look up to him. At Sonny's office, Carly worried to Jason that her lying on the stand wouldn't be enough to help Sonny and Michael. She recapped the "edited" version of Claudia's murder for Jason, who was sure she could sell it. Back in court, Dante and Claire clashed some more. Then, the trial reconvened and Diane warned Sonny to stay calm and leash the "papa lion." Judge Carroll also issued his own warning to the court at large. Then, Morgan was brought back in. As Jax and Michael continued to trade insight about Sonny, Jason kept coaching Carly. Then, Jason went to Sam's and told her that Claire had pulled the offer. He apologized for turning himself in without telling her and she kissed him. Back in court, Claire questioned Morgan about what Michael had said about Claudia's death and when she got nowhere, she gave up. Morgan stepped down, and Claire reserved the right to call Michael if they ever located him. Back at Sam's, Jason teased her about planning to break him out of jail. Jax and Michael wrapped up their chat with Michael understanding why he's supposed to stay put on the island and Jax telling him he loves him. Back in P.C., Morgan wept to Carly, fearing he'd blown things for his dad and his mom assured him that Claire was about to meet her match. During recess, Sonny crossed swords with Claire, who gave him one last chance to take the deal. When court reconvened, Diane called Carly to the stand. She appeared...with little Josslyn!
At the PCPD, a rattled Alexis opened up to Mac about needing to focus on
Kristina but the Bauers getting in the way. Mac assured her she'd done the right thing by coming forward about hitting Kiefer and insisted she wouldn't get hauled off to prison. "Leave the Bauers to me," he urged. At the lake house, Kristina teared up staring at a Kiefer memorial web page and Warren came by to apologize for his disrespectful behavior and give her Kiefer's journal. It soon became clear, though, that it was just a ploy. Warren claimed that Alexis had pressured Kristina to finger Kiefer instead of Ethan. He wanted Kristina to stand up for his son. Kristina insisted she
wasn't lying about Kiefer hitting her. Warren kept trying to manipulate her, and Alexis arrived. After Kristina went to her room, Warren promised Alexis she wouldn't walk away from this without consequences. After he left, Alexis tried to reiterate to Kristina that she wasn't at fault and Kristina explained why she'd stayed with Kiefer despite the abuse. Alexis stressed to her that everything would be fine. Later, Kristina loaded up the Kiefer web site and watched a video of Warren relating his skewed version of events. Alexis watched Kristina, saddened. As for Warren, he made a beeline to Mac, wondering why he's protecting Kiefer's killer.
Dante caught up with Lulu near the pier She had an armful of coffee and
shopping bags, and he had a bunch of trial-related issues! Lulu tried to
buoy his spirits, as he opened up about the latest developments. Dante
vented about not being able to shield his younger siblings during this case
and Lulu continued to reassure him that he was doing the right thing. Later, Dante showed up at the PCPD and Mac put him on a Narcotics assignment. No dummy, Dante realized something was up. He went to Jason's office, realizing Ronnie was looking for Michael, and accused Jason of probably moving Michael back to Port Charles. Of course, Michael was on the island...and so was Ronnie!
