GH: To Tell the Truth

Ever wonder what happens at a soap star’s meet-and-greet? Wonder no more. At the Treehouse Comedy Club in Stratford, Conn., GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Greg Vaughan (Lucky) and Natalia Livingston (Rebecca) recently offered an evening of honest discussion in an intimate setting.Oldies music played overhead while each fan — in a crowd of nearly 50 women — waited with bated breath for the two stars to appear.

When the pair was announced, Vaughan and Livingston walked up to the stage and grabbed their mics. There was an immediate connection with the audience as both jumped right into the Q&A part of the event (which was followed by the actors walking around to each fan, then signing autographs), and spoke candidly about their work on the soap.

Vaughan told the crowd, “I love what I do. I do it with passion and I do it completely with everything, 150 percent.”

Among the topics, a question about the professionalism of Twitter was brought up. Vaughan answered, “I just found this a few weeks ago. I think it’s going to eliminate a lot of things.”

During the two hours of Vaughan and Livingston discussing the ins and outs of Lucky, Rebecca and each actor’s hope to play opposite one another, fans agreed with the actors on one point — that the show lacks fire. “There was fire; you had fire together,” noted one attendee who hoped a Lucky/Rebecca pairing was on the horizon.

Livingston agreed by adding, “They need more romance. I know when I watch, that’s what I want to see, and I think that most women…we want to see that.”

Vaughan was hoping for the same: “What happened to the days of soap when they were in bathtubs and candlelight? Let’s get back to the tub and the bed!”
