I'd like to think that TPTB are realizing that killing off or destroying all the vets isn't winning over the viewers(or the actors-see Finola wanting to test Y&R). But alas, this is GH-they just had a guy burn down a house with a guy in a wheelchair in occupance to prove how much of a manly man he is (coughsdeadbeatdadcoughs).They veggied Michael to "change" the canvas. What's changed? Carly's housing the people who shot Michael in her hotel days after asking Sonny to sign away his rights to his kids saying he's a threat. HE"S a threat? Hello, your bestest friend like ever is now a mobboss. Stay away from him too. The hypocracy of those too punks never ceases to amaze meEvery sweeps it seems like there's some EVENT that's going to change the canvas forever. Nothing ever changes. That's the problem & the reason that's the problem is that GH is about the mob so it has to show that the mob is the hero, otherwise the formula doesn't work ergo Jason has to be the hero every sweeps to show the audience that he's a hero(in spite of the fact that he's too much of a punk to walk away for his own family who his job keeps getting killed (Alan & Emily anyone?)Just like that line in Gladiator says-the mob is rome, the MOB is General Hospital.I think the interesting thing this summer will be seeing how Night Shift fairs in comparison to the mother ship. We've got a completely different staff on Night shift 2, a completely different interpretation (hopefully the new regime won't throw Robin under the bus for that punk patty & his one night stand nurse) It'll be real interesting if NS takes off & actually surpasses GH. I'd love to be a fly on the wall if that happens.But in the end, it's all up to TPTB who clearly do what they want regardless of what the fans want.Me-I'm catching some segments on my DVR, An hour show & I can watch in 5 minutes. I FF most of it b/c most of it's mobular.

I wanna know how sam goes from being this main character who is with jason which is where she belongs and somehow in the matter of a little less then 4 years she is not even hardly there!

Because they are trying to fix her and since she is not paired with Sonny, Jason, Or Jax she gets less airtime. I would love to see more Sam and Lucky stuff and actually watch them have a good love story develop over time. But since the same people are running the place, I won't count on it.

sam is good with lucky shes sweet adn cute and girl next door but i liked her with jason dark mysterious dare devil.

I have to agree about the doom/gloom mixed with the sob/sad back to back added with the mob storylines that are continuous without a much needed break; it makes for poor story.

However "for me" they do some things right; hence why they have aired for 45 years and just won an 2008 Emmy for best "drama."

One thing right is the phenomenal acting ensemble imo one of the very best in daytime dramas. As for a character "belonging with another character."

I have to respectfully disagree in the instance of characters "belonging together". I have been a Jason Morgan fan since day one and lately he has taken a lot of hits " he is no longer being scribed the "hero" my issue is I like heroes and I like him being a hero but not the "only" hero.

My main gripe as a Jason FF; I want him to "choose" the woman "he wants to be with right off on his own.

Moreover, I have never thought any character "belongs" with any other as their sole reason to exist on a show.
Since drama comes first with me. I've never cared for "pairing driven storylines. What will a character do once the pair breaks up?" Jason doesn't seem to be having a problem so why should the woman?

Imo, they have to be well defined and "stand on their own."

If they can't do this then there is no reason for them to be on the show. I shutter to think a woman belongs with a man for viability for her character. If this is the case then its a sad testimony to the talent the actress' portrayal of her character which could be left to an interpretation that she has never done the grunt work to stand solo. That being said,

All character should be able to "stand on their own steam" then they will not have a problem of finding something else to do.

Because GH writers are incapable of scribing couples that work. Kudos to the 2008 Emmy win for best drama (and Tony Geary) "for these talented actors who are over looked time and again...This one is for you!

I agree with wanting the Jason/Q's/Liz and Jake s/l to come out. I'm liking Lucky and Sam off on adventure. It makes more sense for both of those two be off doing that and it works well. Of course now they are back and we will hear the whine from Sam about Lucky and kids BLAH BLAH. I want Spinelli and Maxie to start doing some dating as friends first then more. These two have great potential and will offset Lulu and Johnny. GH quit dragging these s/l's out repeating the same thing over and over is nuts. I only watch now waiting for Liz and Jason to get some screen time and love in the afternoon.

I think they should put the Hospital back in General Hospital. I love Epiphany and her comments. It's good they are trying to get Nicholas back into the "living" where is his son ? Another soap aging trick ? I'm tired of Robin whinning that this is "her baby" last time I heard Patrick was part of this also. I't's time she realizes that she didn't like the way she grew up without parents , she is doing the same thing to this baby ( especially since the dad wants to share in this experience) And I'm tired of Luke .he is great when he is with Tracy but him going on "vacation" for over 6 months at a time...It's like this is just a "fill - in" when he is tired of his time off. Get someone who wants to work ! Bring Monica back from Rehab, where is Edward ? I can't wait for Rick Springfield to come back. (showing my age here ? )

I'm tired of Patty getting away with treating Robin like crap on two shows, throwing that little nurse in her face, playing sex games at Robin's place of work. I'm tired of him being able to practice medicine when he knowingly exposed another person to HIV & didn't tell them. I'm tired of his being right all the time & Robin being wrong. She gave him months to deal with his fears of fatherhood, didn't push him, & babied him the whole way. She didn't want to move in with him so he sues her to visit her womb-give me a break. Why can't one of the mob's stray bullets HIT him instead. And I have no words for that woman inhabiting her MOTHER"S body, taking his side over her own child's. I want Robin as far away from that arrogant jerk as soon as possible. Her HOT mom can have him!!!!!!!!

I totally agree with you. You can watch any other soap and see history. This show head writer (Guza) has made GH into a mob soap and takes pleasure in killing, killing, killing. It's almost every week that he kills someone off of this show. The next thing you know, he's going to kill off both Luke and Laura or their sibs. I am threw with watching this show!!
