According to a story in the Los Angeles Times, a man accused of fatally strangling a retired teacher met his alleged victim through a pen pal network of GENERAL HOSPITAL fans. Scott Kratlian, who had been released from a New York prison after serving a 20-year sentence for murder, had been corresponding with 82-year-old Harry Major for months "and possibly years," according to the report. On February 10, detectives allege, he strangled Major inside his Hollywood home and used his credit cards after killing him. He was arrested on February 18 and has pleaded not guilty.
