GH Exec Addresses Burning Questions

At today's Television Critics Association panel, GENERAL HOSPITAL's Executive Producer Frank Valentini expressed optimism over the future of ABC's lone daytime soap. I think the time slot change will be great," he enthused of the new airtime, one hour earlier, beginning September 10. "It will shake up the line up a little bit. I like the way that we're being positioned with the other shows that are surrounding us. The network is doing a big push to inform the audience about the time change." GH is also gearing up to promote its 50th anniversary on April 1, 2013, with the support of ABC, Valentini noted. "They invited us here, and to me, that's a great sign. They're behind this 100 percent and very excited about the 50th anniversary coming up. We'll be laying out lots of different things between now and April. I'm pretty confident. You just need to watch the show to sort of catch the energy and momentum that we have, and the network's a big part of that." Meanwhile, Valentini also addressed Kimberly McCullough's return as Robin. He teased, "Kimberly is back for a little bit."
