I'm just curious, but are female same sex couples more accepted in general than male same sex couples. SOD has put Otalia/Frank(GL) and Breese from AMC on the cover of SOD. Luke and Noah have never been there and they are popular. So I was just wondering if it was just seen as not safe or too risky to put a gay male couple on a cover of a soap magazine? Those couples also seem to have more airtime. In general, it seems like female same sex couples are safer and more accepted.
I have to say I was a bit disappointed to see the 2 female couples on the cover of SOD but not Luke and Noah. And the picture arrangement was labeled "Hot Plots." The Nuke storyline has been pretty much front and center on ATWT for over two weeks now. How much "hotter" can a plot get? Noah was shot for gosh sakes! LOL Not to mention, in my opinion, the Nuke/Damian/Lily/Zs storyline has been one of the best on ATWT in over a year! I like SOD but this did disappoint me.

Yeah... I'm not very surprised, though. I think society can look the other way with women and accept it. Women are supposed to be touchy feely. And traditionally not in charge. Two men together are somehow threatening. I guess being physical and affectionate together means "weakness." I have no idea what the demographics of SOD readers are. Maybe adding a 3rd same sex couple, especially a male one, is viewed as being too "in your face' and pushing the tolerance envelope just a bit too much. Just my wild guess. I think if Nuke ever featured prominently on the cover, especially kissing, fans would first pass out -- then have the cover framed! LOL
Maybe one day ATWT and TPTB will get a clue and put Nuke on the cover of SOD. And we all will be happy little campers.
ATWT and TPTB have nothing to do with what goes on the cover of SOD. That's up to the people at SOD. When was the last time ATWT got on a SOD cover period? It's been so long I can't even remember.
