Bo and Asa (1981-83): On her death bed in 1981, Bo’s mother, Olympia, told him that Yancy Ralston — not Asa — was his biological father. Bo was furious with Asa for keeping the secret. In 1982, Asa started a relationship with Bo’s “cousin” Delila. The following year, Asa learned that Bo actually was his son, but before he could share the news, Asa noticed the closeness that had developed between Bo and Delila. Aware that telling them they were not kin would drive Delila into Bo’s arms, Asa kept the secret and eloped with Delila. Still suspicious of his wife’s feelings for Bo, Asa faked his death in a boat explosion to test his “widow” to see if she would quickly run off with Bo. In his will, Asa revealed that Bo was his son. Sure enough, with the truth out, Bo and Delila slept together and planned to marry. Asa revealed himself at his own memorial service, but a furious Delila divorced him and wed Bo anyway. Bo likewise cut all ties to Asa for some time.Clint and Asa (1986): Clint also had a beef with his old man after discovering that Cord was his 20-year-old son from a long-ago affair he’d had in Texas with Asa’s former cook Maria Roberts. Turns out, Asa had paid Maria and her mother to leave Texas when he learned that she was having his son’s baby. (Clint never knew why Maria had left so suddenly and was clueless that he had a son.) When Cord came to Llanview, Viki eventually learned the truth and informed Clint, who was livid with his pop for keeping the secret from him for two decades. Todd and Peter/Victor (1990s): Todd hates both his birth (Victor Lord) and adoptive (Peter Manning) fathers, and he has pretty good reasons: It was revealed that Peter sexually abused Todd as a child, and although he inherited a fortune from Victor, Todd never really came to terms with being his son. After being raped by Margaret, Todd went to Victor’s mausoleum to berate the dead man for passing on his sick genes. 
Ben and Asa (1999): This feud dates back to before Asa knew that Ben was his son. Asa always hated the Rappaport-Davidson family, and this sentiment certainly extended to Ben Davidson. Things got very tense between the two after Asa blackmailed Sam and Ben’s sister, Grace, into dumping Kevin. This caused an upset Grace to run off and fall into the Llantano River, which resulted in her death. In 2001, Renee finally told husband Asa that Ben was actually their son, and the news caused Asa to suffer a heart attack. In time, Ben and Asa were able to reconcile … somewhat.Al and Max (2001): When Gabrielle got out of prison in 1997, Max sent their son, Al, to live with her. She returned in 2001 with Al, who harbored animosity toward his father for letting his mother languish in prison and for not paying child support while they were gone. Al went so far as to let Asa, Max’s archrival, adopt him, though that was eventually reversed. Their relationship remained rocky. When Al was in college, he developed a drug problem that eventually claimed his life.
Riley and Daniel (2005): Riley’s relationship with his father was anything but good when Daniel tried to pin the murder of Paul Cramer on Riley’s girlfriend, Jennifer. Maybe that’s because she didn’t do it. The folks in Llanview eventually learned that Daniel was framing Jennifer to cover up for the fact that he was the one who killed Paul — to cover up the fact that he was a closeted gay man.
