Emmy’s Lead Actress Nominees Go To Lunch

The nominees for this year’s Lead Actress category — Nancy Grahn (Alexis, GH), Heather Tom (Katie, B&B), Laura Wright (Carly) and Gina Tognoni (Phyllis, Y&R) — joined last year’s winner, Mary Beth Evans (Kayla, DAYS) for the traditional “Leading Ladies” celebratory lunch. (Y&R’s Jess Walton, Jill, lives in Oregon and wasn’t present.) “To me, it’s the best thing ever,” Wright tells Digest. “This will be my fourth. Gina Tognoni sent me a text saying, ‘Congratulations, sister!’ and I was like, ‘I can’t wait for the lunch!’ The last one I went to, Gina and I sat at the Chateau Marmont drinking wine after everyone else had left. It was so much fun, and this year, we’ve got another great group of ladies.”
