Ok I have not posted in forever, hell not even watched in ages, but tuned in the other day (12/30) and saw the midnight kiss between Chloe and Kevin. But (and this is showing my age and geekiness) it wasn't the kiss that moved me it was the reference to Pretty in Pink. I love that these characters defined their relationship based on the characters in that movie. It almost was enough to make me want to start watching regularly again.

Well for me, and I'm sure many others who have never seen Pretty in Pink, I had absolutely NO idea what they were talking about! Really don't like these two together : (

At first I was rooting for them to just be the best of friends but now I'm feelin their chemistry

It strikes me as gimmicky. Father Knows Best stuff -- gimmicky. Pretty in Pink reference -- gimmicky. When writers are resorting to gimmicks and borrowing from other shows/movies, it means they're in trouble. These kinds of "stretches" are frustrating. They're not adding to the show, they're subtracting from it. JMO

I do know the movie "Pretty In Pink". And loved that that is who they dressed up as for Halloween. I too at first wanted them to be "just friends", but as a couple it works even better. Phyllis and Michael are BFFs but I could not see them as a couple.
