I ask this question because, as today's episode illustrated so clearly, everyone in town is acting like the back end of a horse. We have Sonny putting a hit out on a guy who proved in no uncertain terms, how loyal he is, with his blood. Sure, it's probably going to be revealed to be a master plan cooked up with Johnny's consent & full cooperation, but... Then, we have Olivia, who doesn't have the sense to realize the safest course of action to protect her son is to tell Sonny the truth. The fact that she doesn't understand yet that if Sonny catches on that he's a cop, that will be the only way to save her son, is pathetic. And, Jax (as if he doesn't have enough on his plate, protecting his own lies), has insinuated himself into her lie, telling her what to do. Which leads to...
How many more lies will he tell? He lied to protect Jerry after the Metro Court incident. Then, upon learning the truth about Michael's shooting, he tells Jason a half truth & continues to lie to Carly because of her health issues. Fair enough. But, now that Michael is starting to remember bits & pieces of what people have said to him while he was in the coma, why is he continuing to lie? He covers one lie with another lie, with another lie. He can see the kid no longer trusts him because of it. When he realized Michael was starting to remember what he said to him, why didn't he take Michael aside & say, "Look. I know you're starting to remember what I said to you while you were in the coma. I've spoken to Jason about it & we've decided not to do anything about it until after your mom has the baby & her health stabilizes. But, I'll be happy to answer your questions & fill in any gaps in your memory." That would eliminate the need for a life preserver by the time Michael comes to the wrong conclusion about him & the situation spins out of control, causing someone he loves (most likely Carly) to be badly hurt. At least, Michael has a good excuse for his stupidity. He's a kid & a brain damaged one at that.
Then, there's Rebecca. Well, she hasn't shown much intelligence right along. But, it's clear to everyone except her & Lucky, that Nikolas loathes the sight of her. But, of course, Lucky's also pretty stupid & has been for a long time. He's the writers' favorite patsy. They enjoy making a fool out of him. Which leads to our next moron.
Elizabeth Webber-Spencer has got to be the stupidest (with the possible exception of Claudia) woman on the show. Not only does she bounce from man to man with the same frequency most people change their underwear, she lies with that amount of regularity as well. First, there were the months she lied to Zander about their unborn son's paternity. Then, lying to Lucky about the night she slept with Jason & the months & months she lied to both men about that baby's paternity. Now, her "love" for Nikolas is causing her to lie again. If my hunch is correct, soon she'll be having her 3rd paternity test & once again, the "wrong" man will be the father. THIS is the same woman who looks down on the choices Carly's made in her life. At least, she only had to take one paternity test when she was still very young & dumb. Liz is supposed to be an intelligent woman. A nurse. She should understand the concept of birth control by now, especially when having sex with someone who is not your husband or the man you're in a committed relationship with. Oh & doing it in the middle of the guy's living room, with the door wide open.
Even Robin & Patrick are not immune from this rampant stupidity. There they are, patting themselves on the backs for solving Brianna Hughes' murder. Of course, their actions & sadly, one inaction, created a heinous situation that resulted in multiple deaths & many life-threatening injuries. She could see that the Andrea Floyd was insane, yet she persisted in openly antagonizing the woman, even going so far as to accuse the woman in front of a potential witness, practically begging her to kill Edward, a man Robin is supposedly fond of. Then, when she realized Edward's life was in danger, it never occurred to her that a psychotic woman like Andrea, who is always in that hospital where anyone can get their hands on any & all manner of drugs, would poison the one person who can put her at the murder scene. Even when she sees Andrea deliberately keeping Edward with her, insisting he finish his drink, when it's obviouse he wants to leave, it still doesn't occur to either of them why she's doing it. Robert & Anna they're not.
Then, there's Jason & Sam, who've both got brain freeze, as well & need romantic advice from Molly (preteen, never had a boyfriend) & Spinelli (who can't see that his fiance is having a severe allergic reaction to the thought of their upcoming nuptials), who's current girlfriend is the only girlfriend he's ever had. Neither Sam nor Jason is a teenager & both have long romantic histories & many lovers between the two of them. I beg of you, PTB, please, please STOP making them act like kids on their first date. It's not cute or funny. It's stupid.
It's bad enough the plots are inane rehashes of storylines of the past. The least the writers could do is stop making every character on the show act like a moron.
Lucky & Lulu are full blooded siblings......at least as far as we know at the moment!! LOL

I Still think that Laura was pregnant when she was kidnapped, and that Nikolas is a Spencer, and that Lucky will somehow turn out to be a Cassadine. After all, she did fall for Stefan. Who's to say he didn't slink into town to see her?The way Guza destroyed the history of Luke & Laura, why not go all the way and blow it out of the water!!
I didn't want to start a new thread, and it kind-of seemed to fit here anyway. But I for one am sad about Claudia leaving. I have always liked her, and thought she was one bad a$$ chick. The writers just really fu**ed this character up, from the beggining. They wrote her sooo bad and such a bit*h, there was no way to bring her back. And what is funny, to me, is I cannot stand Carly, never could, never will. Yet Sarah brought them both to life. I just think that shows what a great actress she is. One I hate, one I loved, but played by the same person. Oh well, I think I know how it will end. I hope anyway they taker her out good. I hope she takes a bullet for someone, anyone, that will leave us, or me, with maybe a good feeling about Claudia. I am sure she will die, I just hope the writers give her one little bit of a break.
To me and just to me Claudia was just another version of Carly. Laura Wright was playing Carly and everyone was liking her, if Laura wasn't doing a good job and people didn't like I bet they would have fired her and replaced her with Sarah. Since they couldn't do that, they created Claudia which was to me really Carly. They had a lot of the same qualities. I never took to this new character, just me but I couldn't find anything to like in her. But I do like the actress and hope she turns up somewhere else soon. Good luck Sarah.

Sorry about the rant, everyone. I just really couldn't take it anymore. Over the last year or so, they've pretty much destroyed every character on the show. Formerly intelligent characters are now too stupid to get out of their own way & it's frustrating. It's also insulting to the audience who have to sit through watching these people we've grown to love, behaving in ways they simply wouldn't behave. Jax has been a lot of things over the years, but he was not a liar. Now, his first instinct in a difficult situation is to lie. I don't know where the show is going with this, whether or not it's deliberate, but I really hope it stops soon. The show is growing more & more unwatchable with each episode.As for Sarah Brown leaving, I don't blame her. They've had opportunity after opportunity to dig her out of that hole. Instead, they kept pushing her further & further down. Like the Logan Hayes story, there is so much potential with Claudia that will never be realized & that is a shame. She's a terrific actress & I can't help but wonder what could have been.
I want to say I remember last year, that they had only extended Sarah's contract through one more year making it valid through this November. So I am not sure if there had been original talks to maybe keep her around, but I hadn't expected her to last for too much longer.
I have to agree with you. What is real sad for me is, I have watched this show my whole life. My mom watched it, when I was little so I continued to watch. I was a huge fan, I played sick in Jr High school to watch Luke & Laura's wedding. Since it took a few days I had to be "real sick". Anyway I loved it, I had the 45 record of the rap GH song. That was so cool at the time...anyway I don't love it anymore. Its more an old friend that I keep hoping will change back to what was.I miss it.

That fits. Sometimes, I think the characters on that show are the Scarecrow in search of his brain. Sonny, especially. I think the only person on there that isn't a moron is Johnny. They all start out fairly intelligent & then, within a year, they're brain dead.
I wouldn't call Dante a moron, I think he's pretty cool, like the coolest guy on the show. jmo
I didn't count Dante because he's new. They haven't had time to turn him into one. His father, while cold & at times brutal, didn't used to be a moron either. Sonny used to be very smart & now, he's the town jackass. Give them about a year & I bet he's as dumb as the rest of the town. They should really address that on the show. Explain all the stupid behavior in the town. Have it turn out to be a plot cooked up by Helena to poison the water in Port Chuck.

Yeah! That's it! It's in the water. Kate actually seems like the only one with a brain & she's never there. She also drinks bottled water. Sonny does too, but I doubt he uses it in cooking. Whatever Hels put in there is potent enough to survive boiling & filtration systems.
At the rate of alcohol consumption in PC, world domination is going to take a while! Unless it is absorbed thru skin in showers, baths, etc. And why isn't it showing up in any medical tests at GH?
LOL! Because Hels' is devious enough to make something that doesn't show up in blood. Maybe she slipped it into the dough that Mike makes the muffins & doughnuts out of or the flour!
