The main thing that bothers me is not so much the pairing but that that they have had Ryan involved in a serious "love" relationship 3 times in the last year...with Annie, Kendall and Greenlee..and now he is moving on to #4. How many times can we hear one actor/character say "You are the love of my life" and be able to take it seriously? He also doesn't understand the meaning of the word "boundaries".

He has bounced back and forth between loving Annie - Greenlee- and Kendall and back again so many times, his proclaimations of love run cold with me. In addition, he has no problem telling Zach how much he is in love with his wife, has no problem making a move on Greenlee when Greenlee was still involved with Aidan, had no problem leaving his wife for Greenlee and then moved on to Kendall immediately after Greenlee died...and now he is getting involved with Kendall's mother..the grandmother of his son Spike?

I just think that character of Ryan is gross no matter how you look at it and I can't possibly take him seriously...and so I am not interested in Ryan and Erica at all. The fact that it keeps him more involved with Kendall and her family makes it even worse.

NO! EWWWW, HURL. VOMIT. These are the 3 words that come to my mind first. It's disgusting for so many reasons:
I have despised Lavery from day one . He has been engaged to Kendall more than once. He is the father of Erica's GRANDSON; He just rolled out of bed With Kendall for the upteenth time. He was married to her step-daughter Greenlee and is a slap in the fact to Jackson too. They have no chemistry. Erica looks pathetic and desperate. There is no reason to put them together that way and not many who are interested. Last but not least, Erica and Jackson belong together. Always have.,.always will.
I have not watched AMC in weeks and as long as this garbagefest goes on , I will keep my tv turned off.

Ryan is soooo skeezy...if Pratt had any sense at all, he would know that Erica would never ever go for Ryan, not on her worst day. Period.

I don't like them together, and my two main reasons are (1) I don't think they have sexual chemistry together, and (2) I don't like how docile Erica gets with Ryan. Erica is at her best when she's rebellious and diva-like, but with Ryan, she gets quieter, meeker. I can't see Ryan and Erica sparring and it turning either one of them on, the way I saw it with Erica and Jack, or Erica and Dimitri, Erica and Mike Roy, or even Erica and Chris Stamp. I get the feeling that someone looked around and decided that Erica needs someone new, Ryan needs someone new, they're both pretty people, and it's a cougar storyline. Let's try it. That's always a bad reason to pair two characters together, and just because they had good friend chemistry in some scenes a few months back doesn't mean they should become a romantic pairing.This storyline hasn't started yet, but from what little I'm seeing, I'm not sure how AMC can change my mind about it.

Everyone gets docile when paired with Ryan..that's the problem..and one of the reasons his pairings never work. Because in order to be involved with Ryan, the writers seem to think the female characters need to lose their spunk and be able to chant "all things wonderful about Lavery" 24/7.

It doesn't help that the writing is so inconsistent. When Ryan and Kendall became recently involved again, Erica was the one that really called Ryan on it and told him to his face that he was a huge disappointment and she was disgusted.

Now, all of a sudden, she is cooing like a school girl and telling Ryan she trusts him with Kendall's life. Where did that come from? We are not talking about changing a storyline from 2 years ago..this one like a month ago.

I am with Gator. I prefer the earlier version of Erica....and I am not looking forward to yet another female character talk about the wonders of Ryan Lavery.

The way I remember it is whenever TPTB announce something upcoming is going to be FABULOUS (before it happens) - it's usually a huge dud. I guess time will tell.

When Ryan told Kendall that his only concern was his children and that Kendall should let Zach take care of her because Ryan didn't want to get stuck on her merry-go-round!!! HER merry-go-round?!?!? Seems to me that he's the carnival operator in Pine Valley. Let's see, who has ridden on the Ryan-go-round? Kendall, Greenlee, Annie, Kendall, Greenlee, Kendall. OK, are you dizzy yet??

The whole thing makes me sick. I think Ryan should be paired with Stacy from OLTL. He can go to llanview for a awhile and he really deserves a girl like her.

This idea is growing on me. I hated it at first, but they are growing it fairly slowly, for a soap. What I want to see is La Kane tie him up in knots and turn him inside out like she does every man in her life. It will be nice to see Ryan jumping through hoops to keep up with her emotionally and otherwise. Maybe they are using this relationship as a way to change his direction. Heaven knows they need to do something cuz the character that used to be the hero of the show is now the heel.

If it has to happen at all, I'd like to see it happen your way. Let Erica chew him up and spit him out like she does with all her men. That would be worth seeing. But, unfortunately, I think the producer and writer plan to present this as a good pairing and think that we're going to like it. Guess again.

Yes it already seems like Erica is turning on her daughter and forgetting the fact that just a month or so ago, she was horribly angry at how HE was taking advantage of Kendall. Now he is God's gift to mankind.Yeah a realistic storyline might be acceptable. This one..if played out that Ryan is "bette"r than all of the other men Erica has been involved with..... is absolutely not.

The concept for this 'cougar' storyline is probably the next in the progression of things with Erica although she has already had a romance with a younger man, Charlie Brent so it's not so new. However, what makes this storyline so nauseating is that Ryan not only is universally hated, but is the father of her grandchild. There is no one that has been successfully paired with Ryan since Gillian and that's because Ryan at the time was someone without a sense of entitlement, he had some humility. He was a con man and knew it, and knew he was too good for Gillian, but Gillian gave him heart and boosted his self esteem, maybe too much. Ever since he has become an egotistical maniac with a sense of entitlement to anything whether it belongs to him or not, Greenlee the last time around, Kendall and Cambias, none of which he had or has a right to. For some reason the writers think that the women who watch this show are attracted to verbally abusive bullies like Ryan and who are control freaks. He has no honor or respectability. You can have those qualities and still be a complex, interesting character.This storyline is going to fail just like other topical storylines AMC has attempted in the past two years (Lesbian storyline anyone) because as usual the writing cannot do justice to the subject. Soaps should be able to do a complex storyline like this because they have the time in which to build a story and they have the rich and complex history of Erica Kane. What they are lacking is the writing talent to make it happen and the wrong leading man.If these writers had thought about it, they should have paired Erica with Henry North the DA, he was ambitious, young and handsome. The storyline could have written itself. If only ... I'm so sick of Ryan. I think he is described quite well above. But I sure would like to know where TPTB are getting their fan info, it certainly isn't here.

IF they cared and were "doing it for the fans" and if they listened to what the fans wanted, they would be doing a Jack/Erica reunion story. That's the fanbase that is out there screaming and supporting their couple. Nobody is supporting this nightmare that is Ryan/Erica, IMO. They are doing their best to sell it but I'm not buying no matter what they say, do, or promise.

It's a complete lie. All you have to do is check out all the web sites that have these forms. They are all grossed out by this. The folks in charged at AMC need to be fired.

If TPTB really wanted to please fans and give us what we want, there would be no Ryan Lavery....There would be no Never Will Be Liza Colby...Charles Pratt would have been canned months ago...This isn't what the fans want, it's what Frons/Pratt wants...Frons loves CM/Ryan.... He wants him front/center with a partner.... Doesn't matter if the female character gets trashed.... just keep Frons pet up front...It sucks, but that is the way it is...I keep wondering "Where Is Anne Sweeney", but I guess she cares as much about ABC Daytime as Frons, because he still has his job..
