But it shaped who I became and I can at least take that for it. They don't make a book on how to be a widow, especially one at that age.My kids bring me the greatest joy and I have since remarried to a very wonderful man. He is a great man and treats my kids as if they were his own.

It was just her and I for a long time and than she passed away so it is just me. But I am glad you found a great man, that is so rare and wonderful.

Thanks Nymp.......glad to be back, but I am on my 5th day of not smoking and am really bit*hy so have kind-of been staying away, as not to be too rude.Land.......yes Alpine is beautiful and I loved growing up there! Sul Ross is a great school, it's biggest claim to fame is Dan Blocker, who played Hoss on Bonanza. His dorm room is a big attraction there. Yes....Odessa is home of the Permian Panthers (MOJO) of the Friday Night Lights book and Movie. My nephew who is graduating tommorow night played football until this yr. he loves it.

Ohhhh I remember iron city! My husband and I had actually moved back to PA for 2 years about 12 years ago..and i had a few run ins with iron city! lolI am from Odessa Texas now. It's home. Lived in the Dallas area for several years and moved back here again 3 years ago. I did graduate from Permian "MOJO" of the Friday Night Lights movie. my youngest starts there this coming school year. (although I didn't quite agree with how they made Odessa look with the movie, but the way football was..pretty true..at least back then, not sure now)

Now that'd be a great combo Iron City & Mojo football, I live in DFW area, it's always been known that Mojo would be at TX Stadium in the playoffs, great tradition & yep, the movie was a little wacked vs reality. Look forward to seeing Permian & maybe you at the new stadium in my old hometown of Arlington.anyhoo, welcome to the board, nothing better than yankee ingenuity & Tx swagger for a combo, I'll watch for great posts from you.
