A Different View

Erin Hershey Presley (Alison) thought she had a challenging job working on Port Charles with its doubled-up production schedule — until she served as a guest co-host on The View. “I think that their job’s a little harder,” Presley concedes. “If we had a new cast member every day, it would be hard for your rhythm.”
The actress admits it took a little time to find that rhythm in her new surroundings. “I was really nervous. I didn’t know what to expect,” she confides. “I didn’t know they wear earpieces and they listen to the control booth. It was a little nerve-wracking listening to that and trying to stay focused and follow along with the show. It was scary for about five minutes. Then you just wing it.”But the biggest challenge for Presley wasn’t the listening — it was the talking. “They don’t let you interject a lot,” she says with a laugh. “They start talking so much. They listen to each other, but I don’t think their ears are trained to listen to an outsider.” But all in all, it was an eye-opening experience. “I enjoyed myself,” she asserts. “And (executive producer) Bill Geddie is really, really nice.”
