It's official. I HATE, HATE, HATE what they've done to Lucky. It's been a slow, painful decline from the intelligent, fun & unique kid to this pathetic mess he's become. I feel so sorry for Greg Vaughan, having to play this. It must be so painful for him. Lucky used to know when & how to pick his battles. Ever since he became a member of PCPD, he's lost his ability to understand people & situations & he seems hell bent on making everyone else around him as miserable & bitter as he is.
From when he became obsessively jealous of Liz's professional relationship with Patrick, to his drug abuse & affair with Maxie, he began the decline. He can't solve a case to save his life. His insane jealousy of Jason weakened him as a character. Then, it was replaced with his obsession with minding his sister's business by interfering in her romantic relationships. Next, his sudden (& still unexplained) anger & disillusionment regarding Luke. Now, his ongoing jealousy of his newfound brother is going to be trumped by his need to make Nik as miserable as he is.
Ethan told him the truth about Rebecca--all of it, including the part about her deciding not to go through with it because she's falling in love with Nik. Instead of going to Rebecca to get her side of the story, he runs straight to Nik. That's fine, but why didn't he tell him everything Ethan said? The only reaon he'd leave that part out is to deliberately make Nik miserable. Now, because of Lucky's impulsive & thoughtless actions, his brother is going to go insane like the rest of the Cassadines & that will be what totally destroys all remnants of the Lucky I used to look forward to watching.
I know I used to love Lucky.. lol I remember when Helena had him in the basment hyponotzing him with the Ice Princess.. but I have to say that Liz is a big part of his decline I mean come on he wanted Jake to be his son and of course it wasnt it had to be Jason's whom in way's hes played second best with Liz aswell as Emily (for diffrent reasons). and Liz will always be Lucky's one true love as she thinks Jason is hers
I was totally turned off by his little temper tantrum at the PCPD when they let Domte go. In my opinion the only reaosn he really wanted Domte locke dup is to keep himaway from Lulu. How transparent.
Yeah. It was pathetic. He was so desperate to get one of Sonny's men & Dante in particular, that he messed up & didn't follow procedure. Now, this mess he created with Nikolas is something he should have seen coming. He was wrong to tell him about Rebecca without talking to her first. He's the first one to say Ethan's a liar. Yet it never crossed his mind to use his great detective skills & talk to her. He's a perfect cop for PCPD but I don't know any real cops who'd want to be stuck with a moron like him for a partner. Once again, I say poor Greg Vaughan. He doesn't deserve this & neither do we.
Lucky Spencer is from an Iconic supercouple has always been written poorly under this writer's pen...They will only allow the mob leads to flourish on this show mostly all other males are not leads w/maybe the exception of Patrick Drake.
Lucky is purposely scribed as the dumb detective and always has been.
Look what they did to Jax who was once a kick=A adventurer financier corporate raider with adventure scenes...now only two people on the show do adventure scenes for the most part...no one else...the demise of making Lucky wimpy is no accident its by design that has been going on years. Lucky hasn't been himself since he came back from the dead.
Exactly. That was their failed attempt to make Lucky a more dangerous dude. They didn't like the fact that he was a wiseass who was also smart & noble, but would look the other way on certain things if he knew the crime was hurting no one. When they decided to make him a cop, my heart sank because I knew they were going to water him down until he was more milk sop than Mac, who also used to be cool.In their need to work out their daddy issues through Luke & Lucky, they ruined an interesting character & a great father/son dynamic. Now, they're going to destroy his relationship with Nikolas through Nik's obsession with Rebecca & his thing for Liz. In the end of that, there will be no winners because both characters will be ruined & Liz will probably be thrown on the back burner until the next time they decide to make Sam do something stupid that Jason can't forgive.
Quote:. He's a perfect cop for PCPD but I don't know any real cops who'd want to be stuck with a moron like him for a partner.. He's a perfect cop for PCPD because Bob Guza has no respect for police, and no understanding of police procedure. In a town where the mobsters are the good guys, and the cops are bumbling fools, what do you really expect? It's like a daily episode of the 'KeyStone Cops"....LOL
YOU SAID IT!!! I agree 110%.
Very true. But, he doesn't know anything about the mob either. He's either got them as evil lunatics like Anthony Zacchara or pathetic & soulful like Sonny. The truth is most mobsters behave like ordinary citizens. When I say mobsters, I mean mafia, not street gangs. They don't roam around town terrorizing innocents & they don't behave in ways that draw attention to them. They almost always raise their children with impeccable manners & not to fight with police if they're ever in trouble. But, they also know how to turn off their emotion when they need to. Something neither Sonny, Jason or Alcazar know how to do. That's why Anthony was able to play Sonny & Jason so easily. Because he's not burdened by a conscience. In real life, behaving like Sonny & Jason can get them killed.
You know? I gotta agree about your take on the mob. I knew a few connected families when I lived in NJ (all my life), and they were the nicest, most respectful people on the block, now that I really think on it. Oh...and mothers ruled the roost!...LOL I actually liked Alcazar! He was a better mobster that Sonny or Jason could ever be.
I liked Alcazar too. He was really good with Sage & tried really hard to get a handle on Diego's problems. It's too bad for Sonny that he killed him. Lorenzo might've been able to give him insight into where he's going wrong with Michael since he made the same mistakes with Diego. Also, Lorenzo wasn't really bad until the last 6 months he was on. I guess the writers had to make him go nasty like that so the audience would be able to justify Jason killing him. I don't know why he couldn't have gone out the way Brenda did. Just disappear & be presumed dead. They could've still had the idiotic murder trial with no evidence & introducing Jerry's doctored (or was it?) video of Lorenzo at the South American bank would still have that shock value. And, like Brenda did, he could pop back up when the writers decided to actually write something for Lorenzo worth Ted King's time and talent.
Unfortunately....his experience at GH had left a bad taste in his mouth. If I remember correctly, Ted was upset over his character being a Sonny and Jason prop. But, aren't all them Sonny & Jason props??
All except Dante. He is definitely his own man...and fine one at that!!
Yeah, for now, but soon he'll be nothing more than something for Mo to act off of instead of with. As for what paul said, I disagree about them being Jason's props. He always gets Sonny's leftovers or gets tossed aside for Sonny. Jason is Sonny's prop. For some reason, this show always undercuts Steve Burton. He's one of the best actors on that show & they treat him like he's a doorstop. I love Mo, but it's way past ridiculous the way they make everything about Sonny.
Okay LJ, this may be a dumb question but I can't hold it in any longer. Who the heck is Mo?
Mr. Benard.
Quote:All except Dante. He is definitely his own man...and fine one at that!! Well said! But, you know what happens once Guzanation occurs.....Propping time.
Quote:Mr. Benard. LOL. Oh, right. Thanks.

Let me know if you need back up.
LOL. Will do!
In my opinion, i think Guza is writing Lucky out of the show which is such an awful shame because Lucky is from the biggest couple on the show Luke and Laura, you would think they would be having him not be damaged and i think that is why a new contract isn't happening so fast, i think they are trying to do everything to do without Lucky. He isn't a father to Liz's children even though he cares deeply for them and now with Sam back with Jason and Liz all of a sudden falling for Nikolas which i have to say hit me out of nowhere but now i think they should just create an exit for him so he can leave without being a victim of a potential shoot out. I want to say that i hope he doesn't get forced off because i am sure another show will steal Greg Vaughn, he is part of a core family, GH and use it!!!!!
GH doesn't respect core families. It doesn't respect families in general on that show. Even their precious Sonny's family's been a mess from the start. They brought on a sister for him & I know people will hate me for this (statement not directed at the actress, just the character) but Courtney was really just a glorified blow-up doll & served no real purpose on the show after her kiss & make up with Sonny, except to look pretty with her hunk of the moment. Ric's only real purpose on the show was as a foil for Sonny. Even his romances had to be blown apart because the writers didn't feel they were important. Mike just serves meals at Kelly's & gets beat up. So, Lucky's easy pickins' because he's way less important to them than Sonny. The other core family, the Quartermaines have been suffering too. Edward's wandering around like a happy idiot while Rebecca was running a scam on him & even after he learned about it, he still wanted her there. So far, Monica & Tracy are still pretty much themselves, although Tracy is sometimes a little needier than is believable, but it's allowable because she's a terrific actress & makes it work. The reason we notice it so much with Lucky is because the last year or so, it's gotten markedly worse & the last several months he's been shrill & grating. It's so bad, Greg Vaughan isn't even trying to hide how uncomfortable he is playing it. It must be draining & irritating to read scripts & see yet another day of whining at or barking at someone or just plain looking stupid, which he'll be doing alot of in the weeks to come with Nik & Liz playing around.
Say that LJ! I am mortified at what the writer's have done to the Q's. They have totally blown apart the family aspect of GH. None of the families are what they used to be.

Say that once again LJ. Its been fast forward for me whenever he is on for about 5 months now.
