Days Of Our Lives Recaps
DAYS Week of September 20, 2010
Monday
At the hospital, Sami, Lexie and Stefano stood by EJ's bedside while Will, Kate and Rafe looked on from outside. In a dramatic moment, EJ's life support was removed. Suddenly, he gasped. Confusion ensued. Lexie kicked everyone out. Sami assured a concerned Will that everything was fine. Lexie came out and told everyone that EJ's lungs were clear and functioning normally but that his chances of survival were still slim. Kate thought it was a good time for Sami to pick up her things from the DiMera manse. She agreed. Once they arrived, Kate told Sami that she wanted to talk about Will and the night EJ was shot. Kate warned that Will needed an alibi. Stefano came home and found them together. He asked what they were talking about. "EJ," they replied. He thought they were talking about Will, noting he had information the police didn't. Sami demanded to know what he meant. He showed Sami the box that held the gun and pointed out that the shooting had to be an inside job and since Stefano and Kate were on their yacht, it only left Will. Sami insisted her son didn't shoot EJ. "How can you be so sure?" Stefano wondered.... In his hospital room, EJ said Samantha's name.
Rafe took Will to the beach to talk. He asked the teen where he was when EJ was shot. At Caroline's, Will replied. Rafe admitted he didn't think Will was telling the truth.
Maggie told Philip and Melanie that she couldn't go to Isabella's memorial. They asked why. She explained about the warning call from Gus the night before. "Everybody's got to watch out when it comes to Vivian," Melanie pointed out and promised to protect Mags.
Vivian tried to keep from panicking in the sarcophagus. She was sure Victor would read the e-mail Brady sent from her and know it was phony. Viv found the remote and was able to see Victor and Brady talking in her room. There, Victor read "Viv's" e-mail and said that it was impossible that his wife would leave town. He noted that all of her clothes, luggage and "gaudy hats" were still there, then realized her passport and container with Lawrence's ashes were gone. "Hallelujah!" he exclaimed. Justin came in and wondered what was going on. Victor happily reported that Vivian left him and asked his nephew to prepare divorce papers. "We'll call it desertion. That way she won't even get the prenup money," he beamed.
Stephanie ran into Ian outside the Brady Pub and they discussed the paternity test switch. Daniel and Chloe stopped in on their way to the memorial and Steph pointed Chloe out to Ian. Steph wondered if Daniel switched the results and called St. Mary's. She discovered that Daniel had computer privileges there. Adrienne came upon Ian and Stephanie together; he hurried off. Adrienne asked Steph what was going on. Nothing, insisted Steph and stormed off. A concerned Adrienne called Kayla and said Steph needed her.
Everyone gathered in the mausoleum. Vivian turned the channel so she could watch. Victor gleefully announced that Vivian had left him. They were all thrilled. Vivian was devastated. Maggie and Victor made loving toasts to Isabella. After, Brady thanked everyone for being there and made a toast to Vivian for organizing it all.
Tuesday
The warden checked in on Hope after her prison fight and urged her to tell
Bo what had happened. Hope didn't want to cause him any more worry. Later,
Tina returned to the cell and surprisingly tried to make peace with Hope.
Another prisoner, Hildy, tricked Hope by giving her a book and then put her
in a neck hold for vengeful Tina, who spat, "You're gonna pay, bitch!" and
started to beat up Hope.
At the Pub, Carly saw Bo, who'd just come from the memorial. He was happy to
report that Vivian is getting out of town for good. Carly was dubious and
surmised that Viv's up to something again. She urged him to look into it. Bo
saw her point and made a call. Meanwhile, at the mausoleum, Maggie didn't
celebrate Vivian's sudden disappearance like everyone else. A captive Viv
watched from the live video feed inside the coffin as Victor departed with
Maggie. Brady stayed behind to torture Viv some more. She begged him to
finally make his decision about her fate: either let her go or let her die.
She plead for mercy but Brady wasn't ready to let her go just yet.
At the hospital, EJ's monitors suddenly went off and he began to convulse.
Lexie rushed in, checked his vitals and called Stefano. Meanwhile, Rafe
confronted Will about shooting EJ. Will didn't say that he's innocent, but
told Rafe that he can't prove anything. Rafe made it clear that he's a
changed man and will protect the ones he loves, including Sami's family,
before doing his job.
Sami bristled at Stefano's accusations that Will shot EJ and insisted that
her son is innocent. "You prove it or face the consequences," he threatened.
Sami countered by calling Stefano out on turning his own family against him
again. Stefano reasoned that Will had both a motive and the opportunity to
pull the trigger. Then Lexie called with an update on EJ and told Stefano to
come to the hospital. Later, Lexie informed Kate, Sami and Stefano that
there's been an increase in EJ's brain activity. Stefano urged his son to
wake up as a worried Sami looked on. Rafe and Will arrived; Stefano
continued his threats. Kate expressed her concerns to Rafe about Stefano
taking action against Will. Stefano then asked if Rafe would bend the FBI
rules if he knew who shot EJ. Sami pulled Will aside to say that she won't
let him take the blame and worries about his safety. He suggested they come
clean to Rafe. Sami shot down that idea, adding that she doesn't want Rafe
to be an accomplice if he protects them.
When they returned home, Victor and Maggie made a toast to Isabella. Maggie
pointed out how bizarre it is for Viv to suddenly disappear like she did and
wondered if she'd gone to visit someone. "How many friends do you think a
snake could list on Facebook?" Victor quipped and showed Maggie that Viv
took her cell phone, passport and all her valuables so she must be gone for
good. A frustrated Viv watched from the video feed while Victor smiled from
ear-to-ear at the thought of her being out of his life for good. Maggie was
dubious and returned to the mausoleum to check in on Brady.
Bo called Brady looking for Victor to investigate Viv's whereabouts. Brady
promised to tell his grandfather. After they hung up, Brady grimaced, "Just
what I need." He returned to the mausoleum to think about his plan. Viv was
hopeful that Victor would rescue her after he eyed the hidden camera but he
just wanted to remove the painting of her from the manse, along with
everything else she left behind. Maggie found one of Viv's earrings in the
mausoleum.
The prison warden called Bo to say that Hope's in the hospital. He was upset
and determined to help her.... Kate urged Stefano not to take action against
Will until EJ wakes up.... At the hospital, Ej tried to talk and uttered
Sami's name.
Wednesday
Carly went to visit Isabella and apologized for not visiting often, then cracked that she still has "issues" with places where people are buried. She expressed her feelings on Vivian's disappearance, adding that it just doesn't make sense and feared Viv could still be a threat. Viv watched everything from inside the coffin and screamed for Carly to find her. "I'm in here, you cow!" she spat.
Stefano was getting impatient. He summoned a hired goon and told Kate he wants to know who shot Elvis now so he can take care of it in his own way. She worried that he'd go after Will. Meanwhile, Lexie wondered aloud what EJ was trying to tell her when he shouted out Sami's name and urged him to talk to her. Abe arrived; Lexie informed him what happened. Abe surmised that EJ knows where he is and what he wants because he uttered Sami's name. After, Stefano entered and demanded to know what had happened. Lexie reluctantly told him. Hopeful that his son would understand people talking to him now, Stefano said that he suspects Will is responsible for shooting EJ and vowed revenge.
Rafe was eager to get inside Will's brain to figure out what he's going through. Will was just upset with the drama and said he wants it all to be over with. They agreed they want EJ to pay; Will was certain that he'd get away with it. Rafe reminded him that if EJ dies, whoever killed him will also pay in a big way. Arianna arrived and said she'd rather go to prison than have to deal with Stefano's wrath. She chided Rafe for trying to protect Will and they bickered. Ari defended EJ for saving her.
Maggie told Victor that she found Vivian's earring in the mausoleum. He brushed it off and pointed out that Viv's spent the last three weeks there so he's not surprised, adding that he's certain he'll hear from Viv soon. He was, in the meantime, eager to discuss with Maggie why his wife skipped town. He showed her the e-mail Viv left him, suggesting that her jealousy over Maggie was the reason. Then he asked Maggie if she still sees him like she did when she asked him out before he married Viv. She said she thought they were kindred spirits once but thinks they’d better just be friends. He wanted to prove otherwise but she called him out on simply enjoying the chase, not the possibility of an actual relationship with her. As Maggie left, she tried to convince herself that she did the right thing.
Bo met with Warden Smith at the Pub to ask for Hope's protection against further attacks. Smith couldn't guarantee Hope's safety. Later, Bo met up with Carly at the mausoleum to discuss Vivian's disappearance. Viv told Brady that Carly will continue to prod Bo to find her and begged him again to let her go. He told her that he'd take care of it. He shot Carly an e-mail from Viv to make it look like Alamain was admitting her defeat regarding the Lawrence situation. Viv was outraged.
Phillip happily informed Kate that Viv disappeared but the news didn't excite her like he had hoped, so he surmised that something is wrong. She didn't tell him that Stefano suspects Will was EJ's shooter. Later, Phillip was curious when he caught Brady with his Bluetooth in Vivian's room. They both agreed they hope it's the last they see of Viv, who continued to rail against Brady's antics via the live video feed. She vowed revenge. "No good deed goes unpunished," Brady smirked.
Back at the hospital, Stefano met up with his henchman, who presented him with some information on the shooting. Meanwhile, Kate vowed to do whatever it takes against Stefano to protect her flesh and blood. She eyed the bar and considered poisoning her husband's drink.... Will worried about what else EJ will say now that he's already said "Sami." ... Lexie fretted about the fate of EJ's shooter.... Kate asked Stefano, who said he needs to discuss something with her, if he wants a drink and smiled to herself.
Thursday
Melanie found Brady at the mausoleum and asked how he's doing after his breakup with Ari. He admitted he's not doing so well. Meanwhile, Chloe set out some food for the baby shower and admitted to Daniel she's dreading it because Nicole found out and she felt obligated to invite her. She was stressed about something going terribly awry. Daniel consoled her and they kissed as Nic arrived. Chloe sent her out to get more soda before the other guests showed up.
Later everyone arrived at the shower. Mel was eager to start playing games but Chloe said they should wait for Nicole. The guests were none too pleased with Nic's invitation and Ari pointed out Chloe is the only person who can even stand to be around her. Before she returned to Chloe's, Nicole grabbed a drink at the bar and ran into Brady. She apologized for her actions and told him that she misses him. She explained that she was desperate to be
happy and begged him to understand, wondering if he'd ever done something crazy like that. He flashed back to Vivian and smirked, "In fact I have." Then he pointed out how similar they are; she implored him to give her a chance. Brady wanted to prove how much he didn't want to be around her, so he got up and left. He returned to the mausoleum and happily reported to Vivian that he went to the bar and didn't order the drink, adding that keeping her captive is the best therapy he's ever had.
At the hospital, Ari visited EJ and reported that she can't find anything about who his shooter might be. Meanwhile, at the DiMera manse, Stefano told Kate he has news about Will. She surmised it wasn't good and poured him a drink. He informed her that he now has reason to believe that Will isn't responsible for EJ's shooting because he gave the gun to his DNA guy. Will's fingerprints weren't on the weapon, but Sami's were. Kate tried to explain that Sami has a good alibi in Rafe.
Nathan and Stephanie made out on her couch and he teased her about hanging out with Ian so much. Later, Ian went to get his arm checked out at the hospital by Daniel and made a veiled comment about being in Stephanie's life no matter who else is. Daniel left to get him some pain meds and left his smart phone behind. Ian flashed to Steph questioning whether Daniel was responsible for switching the paternity test just as Nathan arrived and asked him how he injured his arm, then asked him why Ian's hovering all the time. After, Daniel advised Ian to stay away from Nathan and his girlfriend.
Stephanie was surprised to see Kayla, who explained she'd returned to town to check in on her daughter after a chat with Adrienne. Steph was miffed at her aunt. Kayla was concerned that her daughter was still preoccupied with Melanie and Nathan. They bickered a bit, then Steph suggested Kayla stay at her place so she can see that she's happy; Kayla declined. When Steph said she's over worrying about Nathan and Mel, Kayla wasn't so sure and fretted that there's trouble brewing.
A conflicted Will visited EJ, explaining that he knows how much pain EJ has caused his mom and wondered what will happen to her if EJ wakes up. He didn't want her to pay for protecting her children. "I want you to pay," he said. "It'd be the best for everyone if you died."
Depressed, Nic wound up getting drunk alone before returning to the shower, where she quickly made a scene and pointed out everyone's faults. "Okay, what Daniel doesn't know won't kill him. We'll just skip over that," she told Chloe, much to Chloe's horror.
Friday
At the Pier, Sami flashed back to throwing the gun in the water. Will
approached and reported that EJ said her name and is worried that he might
be trying to say that she shot him. Rafe arrived; Sami covered while Will
took off. Rafe pointed out that Sami seems scared of what EJ might say if he
wakes up. Rafe urged Sami to level with him and tell him if she knows
something. Frustrated, Sami admitted to shooting EJ herself; Rafe didn't
believe her. After he left, Sami was resigned to the fact that she's going
to prison. She was determined not to let Will pay and decided she really
needs to tell Rafe the truth.
After Nicole let it slip that Chloe did something bad to Daniel, she
immediately realized her mistake and apologized to her pal for being so
drunk. Melanie refused to let her leave until Nic explained herself. The
other baby shower guests cleared out while Mel demanded to know what's going
on. Nic claimed she's just jealous of Chloe. Carly stepped in and urged Mel
to stop the accusations, which made Mel even more suspicious. They tried to
blow off the tension and the shower continued. Nic got emotional about all
the baby stuff as she thought about her own miscarriage. Carly was
sympathetic. Everyone left and Chloe was relieved that they got through the
gathering unscathed. Chloe needed to make sure Nic wouldn't cause anymore
trouble. The friends shared a very tense and emotional moment; Nic
apologized. Chloe blasted her and said she'll miss having her as a friend.
Nic unraveled. Chloe spat that Carly is a better friend to her than Nic ever
was.
Ian called Stephanie, who was having lunch with Kayla. When Steph ran off and
said she was going to the hospital, her mom knew she was lying. Meanwhile,
Stefano vowed to get rid of Sami forever if she's responsible for the
shooting, suggesting that it might even bring their family closer. EJ's
monitors started to beep. Daniel rushed in and said there's still no change.
Will returned to the DiMera manse where Kate told him that The Phoenix
doesn't think he's the shooter anymore. Kate, in turn, urged her grandson to
tell her if he knows something about who the shooter mightbe.
Stefano came home and interrupted their chat; Will scurried away.
Stefano told Kate that he senses that EJ knows Sami shot him, explaining
what happened at the hospital earlier. Still, he couldn't pinpoint her
motive. Kate surmised that Sami was just picking the right time to exact
her revenge on EJ and maybe even drugged Rafe.
Ari visited EJ again after the shower and said she can't believe he once
married crazy drunk Nicole.... Sami was relieved when Kate told her that
Stefano no longer suspects Will....Ian showed Steph that Daniel didn't
switch the test as Kayla walked in.... Carly fretted about everyone finding
out what she did... EJ suddenly opened his eyes and asked for Samantha.
