DAYS Week of Sept. 13, 2010

Monday

Vivian and Carly continued spatting in the mausoleum. Carly chided Vivian about having a husband who loathed her. Vivian dubbed her relationship with Victor "unconventional." Finally, Carly left. Vivian pondered Carly and Chloe's sudden friendship and vowed to find out what it was all about. Later, Carly was at the hospital chatting on the phone with Chloe about Vivian. Carly explained that Vivian knew she had to leave Chloe alone or face the consequences. Daniel overheard and asked why Chloe would have to be worried about Vivian.
Back at the mansion, Vivian had a bizarre fantasy about Carly delivering Chloe's baby. Gus emerged, noting Vivian would have to go through with her plans for Maggie alone. Vivian ignored him, handing Gus some electronic devices for the sarcophagus. Gus refused to be involved. Vivian tried to bribe him. Gus refused again, and Vivian ordered him to leave.
Kate and Stefano discussed his theory that Sami shot EJ. Stefano wondered why Sami would risk everything, since she already had the incriminating CD. Kate flashed back to telling Sami that EJ was taking off with the kids. Kate noted Sami had an alibi and no motive. Stefano couldn't believe Kate was defending Sami. Kate said there was no way Stefano could know Sami was the shooter. Stefano suggested maybe someone else did it for Sami, like Will. "You even cast a little suspicion in his direction and, you and I, we are at war," warned Kate. Stefano backed off, but noted they had issues if Will did indeed try to kill EJ. Then, he suggested that maybe whoever shot Elvis was someone they'd enjoy annihilating, like Nicole. No matter, Stefano vowed whoever did this would pay.
Rafe left Sami and Will alone to talk, while Arianna rambled over EJ's bedside about his relationship with Sami and the horrible things he'd done. Yet, she insisted he didn't deserve this. She implored EJ to fight. Arianna walked into the hall and found Rafe. She went on about how sad it was a young man with two children was shot. Rafe scolded his sister for falling for the smooth-talking thug. The siblings argued; Rafe saying EJ deserved to die and Arianna insisting he didn't. Arianna returned to EJ's room, promising to find out who did this to him.
Will pressed Sami to tell the truth. "I did it. I shot EJ," confessed Sami. Will was appalled. Sami swore she was trying to protect Sydney and Johnny, confiding that Kate told her EJ was planning to take the kids and run. Will got that Sami had to stop EJ, but it didn't mean she had to try and kill him. Sami swore that wasn't her plan. She went to the mansion to talk to EJ. Then, she found him lying there, picked up the gun, and shot him. Afterwards, she ran, tossed the gun off the pier, and returned to Rafe's bed, thinking she might get away with it. Will asked if Kate might suspect Sami. Sami thought Kate did, but wouldn't say anything, because it would mean revealing she betrayed Stefano. Will was torn.
Melanie and Maggie continued discussing Maggie's pending cruise. Melanie suggested Maggie was running away form Victor. Brady arrived, and Melanie split. He told Maggie about Vivian's memorial for Isabella and asked her to attend with him. She declined, noting she was leaving town. Later, Brady sat at the pub and drank. Melanie joined him. Brady went off about Vivian and how Maggie was being pushed out of town. He announced he had something to do and left. Meanwhile, Maggie chatted on the phone with Melissa, noting she had to think through things and had to go away to do it. Brady arrived at the mausoleum, while Vivian chatted on the phone with a potential new cohort in her plans for Maggie. Vivian told Brady he'd arrived too early for the memorial. Brady was suspicious. He looked inside the sarcophagus, found the TV monitor, and demanded Vivian tell him what she was doing.

Tuesday

Daniel overheard Carly on the phone telling Chloe that she didn't have to worry about Vivian anymore. He asked why Chloe would have to be worried about Vivian. Carly pooh-poohed the whole thing. Meanwhile, Stephanie showed up at Chloe's with a baby gift. She went on about the two of them almost being sisters-in-law how wonderful Nathan was compared to Philip. Chloe thought Steph might be fooling herself, since Steph sounds exactly like she did when she told everyone she was happy Lucas. Steph swore that wasn't the case and asked to borrow Chloe's computer to upload something for work. Chloe said sure. Steph computed and thought back to a chat with Ian. Later, she joined Ian, who was hacking into St. Mary's system. He announced that Chloe didn't change the paternity test results. Steph wondered who could have done it. Meanwhile, Daniel returned home to Chloe, kissed her and told her he'd do anything to make her happy.
The warden took Hope to her cell and told her about her cell mate, who had three kids and was motivated to get out. Tina was brought in. She told Hope to stay on her side and stay away from her stuff. A guard arrived with mail for the roomies. Hope took a letter from Ciara. Tina figured out who Hope was: that psycho cop. She called the guard demanding Hope be moved. Nope! Hope explained about her medication problem. Tina wasn't interested and lunged at Hope. The guard took a coughing Tina to the infirmary, while the warden scolded Hope, who explained she had defended herself. She explained the infirmary was a gossip mill. Soon, everyone would know Hope was a cop. Tina was brought back. She informed Hope everyone knew who she was and to be on guard.
Bo was repairing Maggie's toaster, when she walked in with a costume for Ciara to wear at her skating recital. Ciara got upset when Maggie said she couldn't attend. "Mommy's not coming. Now you're not coming. It's not fair," she pouted. Ciara drew a picture and told Bo her Mommy would be there. Bo said Hope couldn't attend. Ciara lamented about Hope not answering her letter and wondered why she couldn't talk to her mommy on the computer. Bo explained that wasn't allowed where Hope was. Carly arrived. Ciara was sweet to her. She said Grandpa Victor told her to be nice to Carly, because it would make Bo happy. So she was trying, because she loved her daddy. Ciara left to deliver her drawing to Maggie. Bo thanked Carly for supporting him through this, noting he had to visit Hope to talk about Ciara.
Melanie was in the hospital locker room, when Nathan walked in dead tired. Melanie rambled about tossing Chloe a baby shower. Nathan made her promise not to get too close to her. "Why would you say something like that?" asked Melanie. Nathan claimed he was tired and not making sense. He headed for a cot, when he banged his sore elbow. Melanie went for ice. Maggie arrived and told Melanie the doctor Nathan was subbing for arrived, so he could leave. Melanie headed to tell Nathan, but found him asleep. He murmured Melanie's name and that he loved her. Maggie got a static filled call from Gus, muttering he'd resigned as Vivian's assistant, because she'd gone too far. He warned Maggie to watch out.
Brady questioned Vivian about the empty sarcophagus. He noticed a TV monitor inside; then, a straw and put two and two together. He grabbed Vivian, telling her he knew the coffin was for somebody still alive and how no one would ever forget about her burying Carly. He chastised Vivian for using his mother for her plans. Vivian insisted she hadn't done anything. Vivian tried to leave. Brady stopped her and her purse spilled to the floor. Brad picked up Maggie's forged goodbye letters. "You were going to put Maggie in there?" he asked. Vivian denied it. Brady called Vivian on being jealous because Victor was crazy about Maggie, but repulsed by her. He demanded to know what Vivian had done with Isabella's body. Vivian grabbed an urn, while Brady's back was turned and hit him over the head. Brady fell to the ground.

Wednesday

Vivian knocked Brady over the head with an urn in the mausoleum. She tried to phone Gus, sure he'd know what to do. Brady grabbed Vivian's leg, and they struggled. He wondered who Vivian was calling. "Were you getting some help to dump me in the river?" he asked. Vivian threatened to have Brady arrested. Brady challenged her to call the cops. He ordered Vivian to tell him what she did with his mother's body. Vivian said she had Isabella moved to Victor's crypt. Brady didn't buy it and started to lead her off to the police station, when her purse fell. He picked up a receipt from a pet cemetery and exploded. "Did you dump my mom here?" he asked. Vivian rambled about putting Isabella way up on a hill under a nice willow tree. "You better run for your life, you crazy bitch!" growled Brady. Vivian tried. Brady caught her and dragged back to the mausoleum. "What are you going to do?" she asked, trembling.
Melanie walked into the hospital locker room and overheard a sleeping Nathan muttering he loved her. She tripped on the trash can and Nathan jumped up. Melanie told Nathan that Dr. Harrison arrived and he could go home. Nathan noticed something was amiss. Melanie admitted hearing him say, "I love you," in his sleep. She covered and said he was talking to Stephanie and left.
Kate took a pin off her jacket and pricked EJ's foot. When he didn't react, she realized he wasn't faking. Kate realized EJ was the only one who knew who shot him and wondered if it was Sami. She flashed back to phoning Sami before EJ's attack and wondered what Stefano would do if he knew the truth. Kate walked into the hall and saw Chad, who was dropping off a work application, since he'd decided to go to Salem University. Kate muttered to herself that she was the only one who knew EJ wasn't Stefano's only living son.
Sami found Will on the pier. She asked if he'd decided what to do. Will went off on his mother only worrying about him ratting her out. Sami apologized. Will changed his tune, said he realized EJ had been playing Sami for months, and understood why she went crazy. He vowed to protect Sami.
Rafe chatted with Caroline at the pub about EJ's condition, Sami's mental state and Will. Caroline said the boy was lost and that she'd talked to him about being taken in by Stefano. She also mentioned how upset Johnny was. Soon, Sami and Will arrived. Caroline walked out with Johnny, who wanted to see his daddy. Will went off with Rafe, noting that EJ got what he deserved. Sami tried to explain things to Johnny. Rafe encouraged Sami to tell Johnny the truth about EJ's shooting. Sami fretted about the mistakes she'd made. Rafe worried about Will and his resentment of the DiMeras. Later, Sami and Rafe cuddled in bed and discussed her kids.
Nathan walked into the Cheatin' Heart. Philip invited him to play pool. Philip told Nathan he and Melanie were planning to buy a house and asked for his advice. Nathan suggested a small place; then, decided to go home to Steph. Melanie returned home and told Maggie she heard Nathan saying "I love you" in his sleep, but said it was to Steph. Melanie didn't think Steph was right for Nathan. Maggie told Melanie she had to let Nathan be happy or let him make his own mistakes. "That's really good advice," retorted Melanie, pointing out Maggie was bad at taking it. She lectured Maggie about running away from her feelings for Victor. Maggie reminded her Victor was married; then, headed up to bed. Alone, Melanie thought back to Nathan's declaration of love. "It's over, Nathan. It has to be," she muttered.
Will snuck into EJ's room and rambled about him kidnapping Sydney and Sami shooting him. Kate interrupted and probed Will about being there. She suggested they get coffee, but Will took off. Kate prayed Will wasn't the one who did this, but knew she had a bargaining chip with Stefano if he did: Chad. Will met up with Chad at the pub. They discussed school and Chad's "dad." Chad said Charles still blamed him for Madeline's death. Will wondered if Charles knew Chad was asking about Madeline's past. Chad said he didn't and left. Alone, Will muttered nobody would know what Sami had done either.

Thursday

Sami got out of bed, while Rafe had a nightmare about Will shooting EJ. She met Will at the pub, where they discussed the EJ situation. Will assured his mother her secret was safe with him. Rafe arrived and Sami left to check on EJ. Rafe confronted Will about saying EJ got what he deserved. Will got defensive and ran off to class. Later, he returned to meet Kate. She went on about how much he meant to her. "So whatever you tell me, that's going to stay strictly between the two of us," announced Kate. Will played dumb. Kate pressed, saying she thought he knew what happened to EJ. Will was indignant, noting if anybody was keeping secrets, it was her. Kate realized he knew about her call to Sami and pressed Will. "Don't ask questions that you know I can't answer," he snapped.
Daniel walked into EJ's hospital room and was surprised to find Nicole. She noted EJ was her husband, and she never wanted him to die. There were times he was loving. Yet, she realized if he lived and went back to the old EJ, she'd probably end up hating him again with a vengeance. Daniel left, and Nicole screamed that she wanted EJ to die. Arianna arrived and ordered her to leave. Arianna ran into Nicole on the pier. Nicole asked why Arianna had her thrown out of the hospital. Arianna spat that Nicole ruined EJ's life. Nicole realized Arianna was falling for EJ and warned her against. Nicole promised there wouldn't be a happy ending. "You will be EJ's next victim," she spat.
Sami showed up and flashed back to shooting EJ and the trying months Sydney was missing. "You said you loved me," she muttered. "He did," interrupted Lexie, noting EJ regretted what he did. Sami admitted she loved EJ, too. Sami joined Rafe in the hall, reporting there was no change in his condition. Sami knew EJ's fate was in her hands, since she was the one who had to decide about pulling the plug. "I can't do it," she bemoaned. Daniel and Lexie discussed EJ's dismal condition. Even if he survived his brain function would be minimal. Lexie emerged and told Sami that EJ had taken a turn for the worse. Sami begged Lexie to tell her what to do.
Brady taunted Vivian, who yelled and begged for him to let her out of the sarcophagus. Tired of her rambling, he left. One of Vivian's earrings sat on the mausoleum floor.
Maggie arrived at the Kiriakis mansion. Henderson escorted into the living room, where she found Brady. She said she was delaying her trip to help Melanie plan Chloe's baby shower and to go to Isabella's re-dedication. Maggie told Brady about her call from Gus warning her to watch out. Victor interrupted and suggested Vivian had probably pushed Gus too far. He suggested calling Vivian about it. Brady told them not too, since Vivian was busy with the memorial. Brady left, and Maggie told Victor she'd postponed her trip, mainly because of him. Victor was flattered. Maggie admitted she enjoyed his company, even though he exasperated her at times. Victor admitted he enjoyed when Maggie told him off. Maggie said they had to set boundaries, since he was a married man. Not that she understood why he married the awful Vivian. "It's complicated," retorted Victor, pointing out it wasn't about love. Maggie noted she and Mickey had a great marriage, except for the Bonnie interruption. She missed him and wouldn't be ready to move on even if Victor was single, but she enjoyed his friendship.
Brady entered Vivian's bedroom, turned on the TV, and watched the Vivian in A Sarcophagus show. He searched the room and found a camera pointing toward the bed. "Were you gonna seduce my grandfather right here, which is a horrifying thought, and make Maggie watch it?" he asked, calling Vivian "one big bowl of crazy." Vivian admitted she was desperate. Brady taunted Vivian about Maggie being alone with Victor right now. Vivian fumed. He couldn't believe she was going to stick Maggie in a sarcophagus and threatened to tell Victor that he'd moved Isabella's remains to a pet cemetery. Vivian tried to defend herself. Brady ordered her to shut up, noting he was going to watch you suffer.

Friday

Brady rambled about Vivian's litany of crimes and spat that he wanted to watch her suffer. Vivian said she'd thought about the horrible things she'd done and thanked Brady for raising her consciousness. She begged Brady to do the right thing and let her go. It's what Isabella would want him to do. Brady said he was thinking about his mother and that's why he was leaving Vivian in the sarcophagus. Vivian promised Gus would find her. Brady noted he'd left town, after calling Maggie to warn her. Vivian pleaded with Brady, noting there were toxic substances in the sarcophagus. The person inside would go insane and then become a vegetable. Brady thought Vivian deserved to suffer the fate she planned for Maggie. Vivian reminded Brady that she arranged Isabella's memorial. If she wasn't there, people would ask questions. Brady agreed; then, turned off the monitor.
Maggie told Victor the time wasn't right for the two of them. He listened, but didn't like it. Maggie said she'd be at Isabella's memorial and left. Brady walked into the living room. Victor said no one would blame him if he didn't want to attend the memorial. Brady vowed to be there; then, returned to the bedroom with a laptop. Brady said he thought about setting Vivian free, but came up with a better idea. He had Vivian's computer and would send everyone an email from her. He typed a goodbye note to Victor, saying their relationship wasn't working and wishing him well with Maggie. "No, no, no!" cried Vivian. Brady rummaged through Vivian's room to collect her things. He found the urn with Lawrence's ashes and said he was going to dump them in the pet cemetery. Vivian freaked, but insisted Victor would save her. Brady returned downstairs. Victor checked his email and discovered Vivian's note. "No. I don't believe a word of this," said Victor.
Kate pressed Will to tell her what he was hiding. She needed to know. Will remembered back to Sami confessing she shot EJ. "You think my mom shot EJ?" he asked. Kate didn't, since Sami had an alibi. But she wouldn't have blamed Sami if she had. She'd do the same thing to protect her kids and grandkids. Lexie called and summoned Kate to the hospital to tend to Stefano.
Sami was torn about removing EJ from life support. Dr. Walters reported his chance of recovery was minuscule. Lexie recommended Sami pull the plug. "What do I do? Just let him die?" muttered Sami. "Let him die? Who the hell are you, God?" yelled Stefano, barging onto the scene. Lexie intervened. Rafe took Sami off. Rafe suggested Sami not pull the plug. If she did, the charges against the person who shot EJ went from attempted murder to murder. "Oh my God. You know!" spat Sami. Rafe revealed his theory that Will shot EJ. Sami couldn't believe it and defended her son. She asked if Rafe was going to turn Will in. Rafe said he had no evidence and wondered if Will was covering for someone. Regardless, he'd never turn him in. He'd protect Will, just like he'd protect Sami. Sami was touched, insisting Will didn't do it and no one could prove it.
Stefano told Lexie he was going to call in specialists. Lexie tried to prepare him for the worst, noting sometimes you had to let go. Stefano went into EJ's room and professed his deep love for his son. "How can I say good-bye? How?" he sobbed. Outside, Lexie thought about EJ's critical condition, when Abe walked up and hugged her. Kate and Will arrived. Lexie explained what had transpired. Sami and Rafe returned. Lexie told Sami the decision was up to her. Sami asked Dr. Walters if there was any hope. He didn't give her much. Sami asked for a minute alone with EJ. Standing by his bedside, she admitted loving and hating EJ.
"But I never thought it would end like this," she whispered. Sami returned outside, noting she'd made her decision. They should pull the plug.
