Monday
Omar agreed to tend to Rafe, so Carly could go find Bo. She told Omar that Bo was a police commissioner now. Omar was hesitant about the move. Carly emerged ready to go. Omar urged her to be careful. Later, Carly walked and flashed back to her first meeting with Bo. She contemplated calling him, but decided Justin would be a better idea. Carly flashed back to a memory of Victor; then, knocked on the Kiriakias mansion door. Henderson answered to find no one there. Carly realized she had to find Bo. She had another flashback: the time Vivian buried her alive.
Justin helped Hope with her suitcases as Bo walked in. Justin took the bags to the car. Bo assumed Hope was heading to Doug and Julie's. Hope wasn't. She noted the house was too big and the yard was too small for Ciara to play in. Bo noted Ciara already had a place to play: their backyard. If Hope cared about her, she wouldn't drag Ciara from her home. Hope went on about Ciara's nightmares since the kidnapping. Bo pressed Hope about where she was moving. She said Victor invited her to move in with him. Bo couldn't believe it. He offered to sell the house and start over. Hope said she loved their home and wanted a little time. As Hope left, Bo told her to watch her back. Hope and Justin arrived at the mansion. Hope wondered if she was making a mistake. Back at Bo's, Carly broke in. Bo tackled her to the floor. "Sorry to drop in on you like this," said Carly.
Sami entered the Java Café and remembered back to giving Nicole money to leave town. EJ interrupted. He wanted to talk about Johnny. He mentioned losing two daughters and how he didn't want Sami aligning with Nicole and Johnny having to watch his parents fight. Sami said EJ did not lose Sydney. He threw her away and lost Nicole, who was now gone. Sami revealed Nicole left the country to keep Sydney. EJ didn't believe it, since Nicole had no money. Then, he realized Sami helped her. EJ doubted Nicole could pull this off and said she'd be back with handcuffs on. Sami called EJ "pigheaded," insisting Nicole loved him and only left town because of Chad. Sami left. Later, Sami thought about Nicole and hoped she was doing well.
Stefano phoned Nicole, who was aboard a plane about to take off for Rio de Janeiro, and summoned her to the hospital. Nicole refused. A determined Stefano hung up and made another call. An announcement was made on Nicole's plane that they were headed back to the gate to drop off a passenger. Soon, Nicole arrived at Stefano's hospital room. They went back and forth about EJ tossing Nicole out of the house and the situation with Sydney. Nicole asked why Stefano brought her back. "For Sydney, of course," announced Stefano, noting Nicole was "insignificant." Nicole said she was leaving town, because Chad was suing for sole custody of Sydney. Stefano reminded Nicole that Chad wasn't the child's father. "No one can ever know that," snapped Nicole, certain EJ and Sami would kill her if they learned the truth. Stefano reiterated that Nicole did not matter. Lexie interrupted and dragged Nicole from Stefano's room, reminding her he was in critical condition. Soon, Nicole was back at Stefano's bedside. Nicole reminded Stefano how angry EJ would be when he found out his father knew all about Sydney being his child. He'd never see EJ, Johnny or Syndey again. She told Stefano he'd better protect her or he'd die a miserable, lonely old man. Stefano reminded Nicole that people who threatened him regretted it.
Brady and Arianna smooched and snuggled in bed. He admitted he liked keeping their relationship a secret, it had adventure to it. The pair went back to lovemaking. Afterwards, they talked about how great things were between them. Brady was sure that pretty soon there wouldn't be any secrets between them and urged Arianna to tell him everything. Arianna flashed back to getting arrested and knew she couldn't. Brady asked Arianna what was bothering her. Arianna moved in for a kiss. Brady told her that one day she'd realize she could trust him.
Tuesday
Hope sent Ciara to the pub's kitchen for cookies, while she and Justin discussed her move to the Kirakis mansion and whether or not it was a mistake. Justin convinced Hope to sleep on it. Hope swore she wasn't just mad at Bo. She was still scared. Later, at the manse, Hope thanked Victor for getting Ciara a nanny, but said she didn't need one. Hope joked that it was nice she and Victor could talk without her having to read him his rights. Hope headed to bed, after telling Victor how sorry she was about everything. She knew how much family meant to him. Alone, Victor muttered that Bo was an idiot. Hope found Justin on the phone with Adrienne. He asked if Hope might go back to Bo before she was ready, because of Ciara. Hope admitted if Ciara couldn't cope she would, insisting her daughter was her first priority.
Bo was stunned the intruder in his home was Carly. She explained her life was in danger. Bo brought her a beer and asked her about Lawrence's death. Carly admitted she stabbed him, but swore she had good reason. She picked up a picture of Ciara and noted seeing her and Hope leave with Justin. Bo said they were at Victor's. Carly thought that was good under the circumstances. She explained Lawrence's men were after her. Bo told her he was the police commissioner and harboring fugitives was frowned upon. Carly said she acted in self-defense, noting how Lawrence got sick after they were married and became evil. The phone rang, and Bo answered. Victor demanded Bo come over and beg Hope to come home. When Bo said he couldn't, Victor hung up on him. Bo asked if Lawrence had done things to Carly. "He had to be stopped," swore Carly, noting she was sorry she hadn't killed him sooner. Bo wanted more information about what led her to off Lawrence.
Nathan chatted on the phone with Lucas about his rehab stint and moving into his apartment. Melanie walked in and asked when Nathan was going to tell her he was leaving. Nathan said there was nothing to talk about, since Maggie laid down the law about them fooling around under her roof. Melanie thought she should move out. Nathan insisted he be the one to leave. He started to hug Melanie goodbye; then, remembered the house rules and went to shake her hand. Meanwhile, Maggie chatted with Lucas on the phone and told her about the Nathan/Melanie situation. Lucas suggested Maggie butt out. Later, Melanie and Nathan were at the pub eating ice cream. Maggie interrupted, noting she talked to Lucas and realized she was wrong making rules for them. She said Nathan didn't have to move out. Nathan promised leaving wouldn't change anything between them. Maggie invited him to Sunday dinner, and Nathan accepted. Later, Melanie lamented she wouldn't be seeing as much of Nathan, since he was moving out, and they kissed.
A desperate Nicole threatened to tell EJ everything just as he entered Stefano's hospital room. Stefano announced it was time to discuss the truth. He explained that Sydney was a DiMera and belonged in their house. EJ insisted Sydney wasn't his daughter. Stefano said EJ didn't know the whole story. Kate barged in to see her revived hubby and tossed Nicole and EJ out. Stefano explained his nurses believed his latest brush with death was Kate's doing. "If I tried to kill you, you'd be dead," noted Kate. Outside, EJ probed Nicole about what Stefano was about to reveal. Nicole dodged. Inside, Kate admitted the DiMera manse had been "boring" without Stefano. Stefano asked Kate to tell Nicole he wanted to see her. Kate promptly summoned Nicole. Stefano told Nicole he didn't like to be blackmailed and warned her not to leave town. Maxine entered and gave Stefano a sedative. EJ returned to his father's room wanting answers, but Stefano was drifting off to sleep. EJ stormed off. Nicole muttered how Stefano was going to ruin everything. Then, she took out her phone and called Sami. Nicole left her message saying something was about to happen and she needed to tell Sami before she heard it from someone else.
Wednesday
Carly finished telling Bo what happened to Lawrence. She wondered if she was wrong asking for his help. Bo said she wasn't. Carly phoned Omar to check on Rafe and told Bo she had to go back to the boat. Bo insisted she stay put. Soon, there was a knock at the door. Bo hid Carly and let Maggie in. She wanted to discuss the scholarship fund with Hope. Bo said Hope wasn't there. Maggie swore she just saw Hope through the window. Bo covered, saying that was a friend who was visiting. After Maggie left, Carly emerged, certain she had to go now.
Philip joined Justin and Hope in the living room. They discussed Bo and Hope's "little break" from each other. Philip made a crack about the Kiriakis mansion becoming a singles only crash pad. Then, he apologized, certain Bo and Hope would work things out. Hope left. So did Philip. Maggie found Hope at the Java Café and asked about the woman staying at her house. Hope told Maggie she'd moved out; then, headed home. Bo heard her outside and had Carly hide. Hope said she was looking for Ciara's Halloween activity book and asked about the houseguest. Bo said she was gone. Hope saw her blanket tossed on the couch and asked if the woman had been wrapped up in it. Hope stormed out. Carly apologized for causing trouble and wanted to leave. Bo said no, promising to keep her hidden until she was out of danger.
Melanie and Nathan continued their standoffishness at the hospital. Steph wondered what was up and let the cat out of the bag to Maxine about them dating. Melanie swore it wasn't true. After Maxine and Nathan left, Melanie got on Steph for blabbing. She accused Steph of thinking she wasn't good enough for Nathan. Steph swore that wasn't true. Melanie confessed Maggie didn't approve of their coupling. Philip arrived and handed Nathan an envelope, noting it was a citation for his part in helping save Chloe's life. He asked Nathan to deliver an envelope to Melanie. Nathan reported he'd moved out of Maggie's house. Philip decided to deliver the envelope himself. Later, he arrived at Maggie's. Philip mentioned hearing Nathan had moved out of respect for Maggie. As he left, he told Melanie he wanted her to be happy and thought she'd be happier with him.
Mia fretted to Will about finding Chad before he took Sydney from Nicole. EJ was about to leave the DiMera mansion, when Chad barged in asking where his daughter was. EJ swore he didn't know. Chad started yelling for Nicole and asked if EJ was going to fight him for custody of Sydney. EJ said Sydney wasn't his child. He didn't know or care where Nicole and Sydney were. Mia and Will arrived. Mia begged EJ not to let Chad take Sydney. EJ refused to stand in the way of a father uniting with his child. Chad thanked EJ and split. Will couldn't believe EJ's attitude. EJ said Sami was the reason he was giving up Sydney and asked Will and Mia to go. Then, he left to visit Stefano and hear what he had to say that was so important.
Sami answered her door to find Nicole standing there with Sydney. Nicole prepared to tell Sami the truth about Sydney, but couldn't do it. After Sami put Sydney down, Nicole tried to give Sami her $50,000 back. Sami urged Nicole to keep fighting. Nicole said she couldn't. She explained how Stefano dragged her off the plane and to his hospital room. Sydney cried and Nicole went to tend her. When she returned, Sami was gone. Nicole realized she went to confront Stefano. Nicole sobbed realizing she might lose Sydney. Later, on the pier, Nicole fretted about losing Sydney. Chad arrived and handed Nicole an envelope, noting she'd been served.
Maxine checked on Stefano, whose pulse was racing. She insisted he calm down. Stefano envisioned telling EJ about the baby switch and a cop hauling Nicole away. Stefano snapped back to reality and swore no one would ever take EJ's daughter away from him. Sami stormed in and started ranting. She chastised Stefano for calling Nicole's plane back, insisting she'd suffered enough. Stefano swore Nicole would never suffer enough for what she did to his family or Sami. Sami refused to be turned against Nicole and told Stefano she gave her money to leave town. "A child deserves to be with its mother," contended Sami. Stefano concurred: "Sydney should be with her mother. Her real mother."
Thursday
Carly told Bo she had to go back to the boat alone. Bo insisted on going with her, but when he went to the kitchen, Carly gave him the slip. When Bo returned, he went after her. Rafe fantasized about seeing Sami; then, realized she wasn't there. He woke up and asked Omar where he was. Omar explained they were on a boat in Salem. Carly entered the stateroom, but it was empty. Bo appeared. Carly told him about the man they'd found in the river. She didn't know who his enemies were and had to protect him. Carly and Bo returned to Bo's house. Carly worried about Rafe. She flashed back to happy times with Lawrence and then killing him. Bo found her crying.
Chad handed Nicole a court order to have Sydney's DNA tested. Nicole didn't put up a fight. "There's nothing left for me to do," she said. Chad approached Sydney, noting he was her daddy. Sydney cried. Nicole tried reverse psychology. She told Chad to take Sydney and get "a taste of the future." "What do I do?" asked Chad. "Be a parent," retorted Nicole. Chad handed Sydney back to Nicole. Nicole warned that this is how things would be if he took Sydney: no more partying, video games or sleep. Was Chad ready for that? Rafe turned up on the pier and listened as Nicole said Sydney wasn't Chad's baby and ordered him to keep his hands off her.
EJ arrived at the hospital to see Stefano. Lexie said he was asleep. Inside his room, Stefano reiterated Sydney should be with her real mother. Sami went off on Stefano for trying to take Sydney from Nicole and not abiding by Mia's wishes. Stefano said he was trying to ensure Sydney be raised by her father. Sami started raving about Chad and how Stefano had no problem ripping Sydney from her mother. Stefano called Sami on keeping EJ's daughter from him. Sami swore she did that to protect Grace from Stefano. She hated the fact that Johnny even knew him. EJ walked in and asked what was going on. The spatting continued. Stefano yelled that it was right Sami went home to an empty crib. Sami ran out. Stefano announced that Sami's behavior and EJ's foolish love for her changed everything, admitting he nearly made a costly mistake. "What are you talking about?" asked EJ. Stefano was too tired to elaborate. EJ left. Stefano phoned Nicole and summoned her to his bedside. He explained that he didn't tell EJ or Sami about Sydney's paternity. Stefano wanted Nicole to remain Sydney's mother and EJ's wife. Nicole thought that was impossible considering the pending DNA tests. Stefano insisted when he wanted something, he got it.
Melanie called Philip "arrogant" for saying she'd be happier with him than Nathan. Philip insisted he and Melanie were perfect for each other. Melanie slapped him. Philip apologized. Melanie told Philip she was there every time he needed a shoulder to cry on, but he was never there for her. Now Nathan was interested in her and Philip was sniffing around again. Philip swore he had genuine feelings for Melanie. Melanie didn't want to hear it. Philip swore he wouldn't be pushing this if he didn't feel sparks. Melanie confessed she wasn't use to two guys fighting over her. Philip moved in on her. Melanie backed away and ordered Philip to leave. He obliged.
Stephanie apologized to Nathan for outing him and Melanie. Nathan said she had nothing to apologize for; she was a good friend. Steph said she wasn't, admitting she was jealous Melanie had two great guys chasing her. Later, Melanie arrived and started moving in on Nathan. "I never get to show you how I feel," she cooed. Soon the pair were in an empty room getting hot and heavy. Meanwhile, Philip ran into Steph at the Java Caf. He said he thought Melanie and Philip had broken up upon hearing Nathan moved out of Maggie's house. Steph told him he was wrong and warned Philip to leave the couple alone. Philip warned Steph to do the same.
Rafe sat collapsed on the pier, dreaming about reuniting with Sami and telling her about Sydney. Soon, he stood up and started walking. Sami returned home, looked at a picture of Grace, and got teary-eyed. EJ arrived. He started reeling at Sami for what transpired in Stefano's room. Rafe approached the door as the two were spatting. Sami turned to answer it.
Friday
Arianna opened her door and was stunned to find Rafe. She wanted to call 911 but Rafe forbade it, noting everything depended upon keeping a secret. He explained how Meredith knocked him out, held him captive, and dumped him in the river. He was sure Stefano was involved, so they couldn't call the police. They couldn't call Sami, either. Rafe drifted off. When he awakened, he filled Arianna in on the woman on the boat who saved his life. Arianna asked about the secret and Rafe said it had to do with Nicole and Sydney. Arianna said everyone already knew Sydney wasn't Nicole's baby.
Mia went to see Sami, and was crying as she entered the townhouse. She asked EJ if he'd rethought things regarding Sydney. EJ said he hadn't and left. Mia was devastated that Sydney's life would be ruined by Chad. Sami promised to help her. Mia's phone rang and it was Nicole asking her to come to the hospital. EJ returned to the mansion and summoned Troy to inform him that from now on he worked only for him and not Stefano. EJ asked Troy about the dealers working on the north side. EJ noticed Arianna's name on the list Troy gave him.
Sami ran into Brady at the pub and said she was disappointed he hadn't helped Nicole. Brady noted that he offered to get Nicole an attorney, but wasn't going to help her become a fugitive for life. Sami admitted she'd given Nicole money to flee Salem, but that she didn't leave. Sami vowed to support Nicole. Brady mentioned Rafe and told Sami his people couldn't find him. Sami insisted their relationship was over.
Will happened upon Chad and T talking about Mia. T wondered if what Chad said was true, that Mia left school to have his baby. Will confirmed it was. Chad vowed he was going to get his kid. Alone, Chad went off about Will and Mia lying to him. Will said Chad didn't deserve to have a kid.
Stefano explained his plan to Nicole: Chad was going to find out he wasn't the father of Mia's baby. When Mia arrived at the hospital, Nicole recounted Chad's demand for a paternity test. They entered Stefano's room and he went on about growing to love Sydney as his own. Nicole explained that Stefano would make sure the DNA tests showed Chad wasn't Sydney's father; Mia would then have to say she had multiple sex partners. "There has to be some other way," retorted Mia. Nicole insisted there wasn't. If she didn't do this, she'd ruin Sydney's life. Mia relented. She called Chad and said she had to tell him something that would change everything. She met Chad on the pier. She asked him to call off the paternity test, warning he'd come off looking like an idiot, since she didn't think he was Sydney's father. Chad didn't believe her. Mia said after Chad left town she got caught up in the party scene in Chicago, drinking and seeing different guys. She was almost positive that's when she got pregnant. Chad didn't buy it and wondered why Mia didn't tell him this before. She didn't want him to tell Will she was total slut, Mia explained. Will approached, and Chad said she could tell him herself.
Bo assured a sobbing Carly she would get through this ordeal. "Now that I know the whole story, I understand why you did what you did," he said, vowing to protect her. Carly said people were coming after her. She took a life and they were going to want hers in return. Bo assured her she was not alone.
"Master Lawrence's ashes, Madam," announced a man as he handed them to a mystery woman. She put the container down and glanced at pictures of Lawrence and Carly. She tore Carly out of one of the photos and then ripped up others. The woman rang a bell. A man came in; she handed him the picture and demanded he find Carly. It was Vivian! "Then I'll deal with her personally," she seethed.
