DAYS Week of October 25, 2010
Monday
Victor professed his love to Maggie, when Vivian burst in. "If I can't have you, no one can," she spat. It was just Vivian dreaming. Victor checked on Vivian. She apologized for saying Maggie couldn't love someone like him. She was jealous and knew she was going to lose him to Maggie. "You never had me," retorted Victor. Vivian noted that if Victor did win Maggie over, once she found out he'd locked her in a coffin their romance would be over. Victor brought up Vivian's revenge, knowing she'd go straight to Maggie and the cops if he let her out. Vivian swore she wouldn't, knowing Victor would expose her original plan for Maggie. Victor asked if Vivian would let him and Maggie live happily ever after. Nope! She'd move right back into Victor's home and life.
Nicole showed up at Maggie's house, saying Brady sent her. Maggie didn't buy it. Nicole admitted it was Victor. "He thinks he's in love with you," she announced. Nicole mentioned she was living at the Kiriakis mansion and that Victor seemed different. All he did was mope around the mansion. Nicole thought it had something to do with Isabella, since he was always at the mausoleum. Nicole decided to go. She phoned Victor and went on about the story she told Maggie, watching Maggie jump into her car, and assuming she was en route to the mausoleum.
Kinsey ran into Caroline heading out with Sydney. She was off to pick up clothes. Kinsey volunteered to take the tyke to the pumpkin patch. Kinsey and Sydney ran into Nicole. Kinsey noticed the way Sydney looked at Nicole. "I think she misses you," said Kinsey, rambling about Nicole being Sydney's mom when she was born and how Sami neglected her kids. Kinsey said she had to run, but said she'd take Sydney this very same spot first thing tomorrow. After they left, Nicole wondered how she would ever stop loving or thinking about Sydney.
Victor continued his chat with Vivian. He admitted she was right. He couldn't keep Vivian's entombment from Maggie. "Does that mean you'll let me out?" asked Vivian. Maggie arrived, noting Nicole's ploy worked. She was concerned about the pain he was in over Isabella. Victor told Maggie she was right. There was no way things could work between them. He asked Maggie to go. Vivian was delighted. Maggie said she wasn't leaving Victor there and suggested going to his house. Victor told Maggie not to worry about him. He missed Isabella, but was glad she wasn't around to see what he'd done. He mentioned the night Maggie witnessed his run-in with Stefano. She didn't like that Victor and neither did Isabella. Maggie admitted Victor could be cold, but had a loving heart. Victor was touched. Vivian, not so much.
Will tried to sneak Arianna's purse from the nurses' station, when Gabi caught him. Will said he thought Arianna might want her purse when she woke up. Gabi said she'd give it to her. Will suggested they get some air. Gabi and Will arrived at the pub as Caroline was leaving. Gabi couldn't believe someone ran down Arianna and just kept driving. She started sobbing and went to wash her face. Will looked through Arianna's purse, but the camera phone wasn't there.
Abe and Theo arrived at the hospital to see Lexie. Abe asked how Arianna was doing. Lexie said she made it through surgery and was holding her own. She hugged Abe and Theo and told them how much she loved them. Rafe asked Dr. Walters about Arianna's chances. He explained the next 24 hours were crucial. Arianna had severe injuries and might not remember what happened before the accident. Rafe thought that might be for the best. EJ sat by Arianna's bedside as she muttered about having "proof" and knowing "everything." Rafe interrupted and ordered EJ to leave. Arianna's machines started sounding. Walters entered, yelling she was coding. Outside, EJ told Rafe how conveniently things were working out for him and Sami. He noted how Arianna had called him earlier, saying she had proof of who shot him, but that Rafe already knew that. Rafe played dumb. EJ scolded Rafe for trying to curry favor with Sami, saying if Arianna died, it was on him. The guys started brawling. Lexie intervened, scolding them. Dr. Walters emerged, admitting Arianna had taken a turn for the worse. "It's just a matter of time," he said.
Tuesday
Maggie sensed Vivian was part of the reason Victor told her to walk away from him. Victor said he was dealing with Vivian his way. Maggie asked about the day Victor wed Vivian. Was he "taking one for the team?" Victor brought up Maggie offering to drive him to the airport before the ceremony and how different things would have been if she had. Vivian grumbled. Brady interrupted. Maggie split,and Brady wondered if Victor was having second thoughts about keeping Vivian in the sarcophagus. Nope. Brady suggested freeing Vivian, so Victor and Maggie might have a chance at happiness. Victor said Vivian already told him if they let her out, she'd come home from her "trip" and resume her position as his wife. Vivian told Victor he did the right thing when he told Maggie to go and not come back, because she wouldn't give him the time of day when she learned what he'd done to her. "Then I'll just have to make sure she doesn't find out. Won't I?" retorted Victor.
Kate and Stefano were chatting, when Chad showed up at their door. He wanted to thank Kate for trying to get him a job and apologize to Stefano for running out of there earlier. Stefano sensed Chad wanted to make it on his own, but told him they could talk if he changed his mind. Then, he left to meet EJ. Alone, Kate asked Chad why he rejected the job offer, after she'd put herself out to get it for him. Chad knew she was doing it for Stefano. Kate insisted she knew Chad's mother and wanted to help him. "If I can make it without a mother or a father, surely I can make it without your help," barked Chad, leaving. Kate decided she couldn't keep this secret anymore, called Chris, and told him she needed something delivered, but couldn't have it traced back to her. A messenger arrived, and Kate handed him an envelope.
Dr. Walters told Rafe that Arianna's time was near and suggested he summon a priest to give her last rites. Rafe went in to see his sister and prayed for a miracle. EJ muttered how Arianna had to survive. She was the only one who could help him. Wanting to help, EJ asked the nurse for Arianna's phone, so he could call her friends. The nurse said Arianna's purse was gone.
Will discovered Arianna's camera phone wasn't in her purse. Gabi returned and asked why he was rummaging through her sister's things. Will explained the purse had fallen on the floor. Gabi went on about how Arianna was getting her life together, when this accident happened. Gabi's phone rang and it was Rafe. He said the news wasn't good and summoned Gabi to the hospital. Will left Sami a voice mail about Arianna's missing phone and told her to call Rafe, pronto. Rafe returned to Arianna's bedside and apologized for being so caught up in trying to protect Sami and her kids, that he didn't realize she needed him.
Stefano arrived. EJ told him about Arianna's condition and how she wanted to tell him who shot him before things took a turn for the worse. Stefano assumed she'd found proof and wondered where it was. EJ said Rafe blamed him for Arianna's accident. Stefano called Rafe an idiot. EJ noted he had encouraged Arianna to go on this crusade, but she wouldn't have if Brady was still in her life. EJ got an idea: He phoned Brady and summoned him to the hospital to see Arianna. Stefano commended EJ for his good deed. EJ vowed to get justice and find out what Arianna knew for both their sakes.
Will returned to the hospital, blaming himself for the accident. Rafe wouldn't hear of it. Father Matt arrived. He and Rafe went into Arianna's room. The priest had finished giving Arianna last rites, when Gabi arrived. She started crying and ran off. Will went after her and admitted Arianna ran into the street because they'd been arguing. "If she dies, it'll be all your fault!" spat Gabi. Brady arrived and went in to see Arianna. He talked about the dreams they'd had and how he always thought she'd be in his life. EJ found Rafe and told him Arianna had been desperate to tell him something. "Don't you think it's about time you told me the truth?" asked EJ.
Wednesday
Vivian was delighted when Nicole stopped by for a visit. She mentioned seeing Brady get the news about Arianna and how guilty he was going to feel leaving her for Nicole. Vivian thought Nicole would end up alone and broke, but she could fix that by naming her the heir to her fortune. If Nicole freed Vivian, she could lead the life she always dreamed of. Nicole didn't buy it, knowing Vivian would try to send her and Brady to prison if she set her free. Vivian urged Nicole to think this over. "I have Brady. Everything's fine," retorted Nicole. Vivian reiterated he'd never get over the guilt of leaving Arianna. Nicole insisted Vivian was wrong.
Gabi told Will that if Arianna died it was his fault and ran off. Sami vowed they'd find a way to make this right, by talking to Arianna. Will told Sami that Arianna was dying. Sami wanted to get to the hospital to be with Rafe. Will asked if she'd found the phone. Sami said she hadn't.
Brady sat by Arianna's bedside, admitting he'd always care about her. He chastised himself about not having time for her of late, because he centered his life around the disgusting Vivian. Kate overheard. Brady gave Arianna a rosary that belonged to his mother and said she would look after her. Gabi joined Brady at her sister's beside. Kate ran into Melanie and asked about her and Philip moving into the Kiriakis mansion. Kate was surprised they'd want to live under the same roof as Vivian. Melanie said Vivian was gone. Kate thought that was odd. She mentioned seeing Brady and Arianna. Melanie asked if they'd gotten back together. Kate delivered the bad news. Melanie went to comfort Brady.
Kate arrived at the Kiriakis mansion and exchanged barbs with Nicole, who revealed she lived there. "You and Vivian. Is Victor going to ask Carly to move in next?" asked Kate. Nicole explained that Vivian was gone and she and Brady had reconciled. Kate needled Nicole about seeing Brady and how devastated he was about losing the love of his life, Arianna. "I think her memory is going to haunt Brady for years," she taunted. "Don't say that," snapped Nicole, and left. Nicole met up with Brady and offered her sympathy regarding Arianna. Kate headed upstairs and saw that Vivian's belongings were gone. She noticed a remote control, clicked it, and saw Vivian on the monitor. She put in the ear piece and Vivian told her she was in Isabella's sarcophagus. "Did Brady put you there?" asked Kate. "Good for him." Vivian pointed out Kate could get revenge on Nicole and Victor by letting her out.
EJ confronted Rafe about telling him the truth. Rafe dodged. EJ noted that Will badgered Arianna until she ran into an oncoming car, all because he was covering for Sami. "Do you think that's the kind of mother that I want looking after my children?" asked EJ, saying Arianna not only wanted justice done, but was also trying to save Rafe from Sami. Rafe told EJ to go away; he wanted to be with his sister. Sami told EJ he was making things worse. Lexie urged her brother to leave. EJ wouldn't, insisting Arianna was the last chance he had of keeping his kids. If she woke up, he had to be there. There was a another code blue in Arianna's room, but Lexie managed to revive her. Rafe went back in to see his sister. Sami asked Brady to help get EJ out of there. Brady refused, since EJ was the one who summoned him there. EJ approached Will and pressed him to admit Sami shot him and that he knew what proof Arianna had. Lexie intervened and ordered EJ out. EJ left, telling Will he and Sami killed Arianna, and he wasn't going to let her die in vain. Rafe and Gabi were with Arianna, when Sami walked in. Rafe's mother called, and he and Gabi walked out to talk to her. Arianna called out, "Mom?" Then, she saw Sami. "You won't get away with this," she muttered. Sami called Rafe, saying Arianna was talking. "What did she say?" asked Gabi. "That she loves you," answered Sami. Suddenly, Arianna flatlined, and Lexie rushed back in. This time, she couldn't save her.
Thursday
Bo and Victor discussed Brady and Arianna's death. Victor worried Brady might get back on drugs. Victor asked about Hope. Bo said he'd been by to see her with Ciara. Victor didn't get why Bo and Hope just accepted her prison fate. He wanted to call the governor to arrange Hope's release. Bo said Hope didn't want any strings pulled. Victor blamed Bo for not pushing Hope, noting his family was in trouble, and Bo needed to do something about it.
Kate arrived at the mausoleum to see Vivian. "I'll tell you how to get me out," said Vivian. "What in the world would make you think that I would want to get you out?" retorted Kate, noting how much she loathed Vivian. Kate asked why the coffin was outfitted with air vents and multimedia capabilities, and assumed Vivian intended it for one of her victims. Vivian confessed it was for Maggie, who'd been throwing herself at Victor. Kate said Vivian had "a real problem." She needed help, yet everyone hates her. Vivian conceded she and Kate had had their ups and downs. "You stole my egg. You tried to steal my son," countered Kate. Vivian pointed out how Kate tried to kill Chloe and understood about dealing with things "outside the box." Kate asked how to open the box, when Victor arrived. Kate admitted she knew his secret and that Brady put Vivian in the sarcophagus. Victor explained that when Brady learned Vivian had put his mother's remains in a pet cemetery and planned to entomb Maggie, he snapped. Victor offered to pay Kate off to keep her quiet and suggested they have a brandy back at the mansion to discuss it.
Hope asked Lee about April and the investigation into her death. Lee dodged and told Hope to go down to records and pick up some files. Lee made a call, saying Hope was asking questions again. Hope returned and brought up April. Lee said it could take months before an investigation turned up anything. Hope noted bad cops slowed things down when they were trying to hide something. Warden Smith interrupted, explaining April died of septic shock. Hope looked at the report and was surprised to see April had been cremated. Smith got a call and told Hope her husband was there to see her. Bo told Hope about Arianna's death and how she had forgiven Hope. "Now it's time for you to forgive yourself," said Bo. Hope didn't want to talk about that. She wanted to discuss April's death and told Bo she was sure there was a coverup going on. Bo said he'd look into it. Hope said she'd handle it. Bo made Hope promise to let him know if something else happened. He was concerned for her safety.
EJ taunted Sami about being happy Arianna was dead. He knew she was hoping whatever evidence Arianna had incriminating Sami of his shooting was gone. EJ demanded Sami tell him what it was or he'd find out from Will. They argued. Will came to his mother's defense and told EJ to leave. Lexie told Rafe that Arianna was a registered organ donor and there was a girl who needed a heart transplant. Rafe gave his permission for the surgery.
Back at the DiMera mansion, EJ told Stefano that Arianna was gone, but he never got to talk her. EJ was sure Sami shot him and that she and Will knew what proof Arianna had. Stefano thought he could help. Stefano explained he'd had Arianna followed right up to her accident. He was waiting to hear from his minion. Stefano reported Arianna went to Rafe's place before her accident; then, left and gave his minion the slip. EJ told Stefano the last time Arianna called him, she said she had something to show him and wanted to meet at the pub.
Sami suggested Will go visit his father for a while. Will refused to abandon his mother. Rafe told Sami about the girl receiving Arianna's heart. Sami was touched by his generosity. Rafe started to break down. Gabi told Rafe she talked to their mother about Arianna's wish to be an organ donor. Will and Sami discussed Arianna's missing camera phone. Sami wondered if it might be in Arianna's room. Sami realized she had to get to Arianna's room and search it before EJ did.
Friday
Nicole met Kinsey and Sydney at the park. Kinsey suggested taking Sydney to the playground. Nicole carried Sydney to the swings and told her how much she loved and missed her. Caroline arrived and was appalled to see Nicole with Sydney. Nicole insisted they'd just run into each other. Caroline didn't buy it and told Nicole never to touch Sydney again.
Bo came into the pub and found Kayla, who wanted to talk about Carly. She wondered if he knew who Carly was and what she was capable of. Kayla thought Bo could never abandon Hope. Bo said he wouldn't. Hope would always be part of his heart and his life, but Carly was his future. Bo got a call and left.
Carly arrived at Maggie's to see Melanie. She hoped Arianna's death would make Melanie realize they should love and cherish each other. Melanie chastised Carly for lying to Daniel and realized Bo didn't know about it. Carly admitted keeping secrets to protect the people she loved. Melanie asked if it was because Carly felt guilty for what she did when she was born. "Yes," admitted Carly. Melanie sobbed. Alone, she imagined Daniel finding out about Chloe's affair and blaming Melanie for keeping it from him.
Nathan and Stephanie frolicked at home. Nathan said he had something important to do before Kayla and Joe left Salem. Steph went to get her coat, when Philip arrived, delivering news of Arianna's death. Nathan wanted to call Melanie. Philip stopped him, noting Nathan had made Melanie lie to her dad. Steph interrupted, insisting that wasn't Nathan's fault. All they wanted was for Daniel and Chloe to be happy. Philip left. Nathan announced he had to do something, now. He took Steph's hand and asked her to marry him.
Philip arrived at Maggie's and asked Melanie what was wrong. "You mean, besides my best friend dying?" asked Melanie, noting Carly came by earlier. Melanie didn't need Carly trying to make things right. She told Philip she wanted to be alone and sent him back to work. Daniel arrived and hugged Melanie, noting he'd heard about Arianna's death. He wished he'd been there for her. Melanie assured he was always there for her and announced she had to tell him the truth about everything.
Kayla found Carly in the park. Carly suggested getting together for dinner with Bo. Kayla said she was leaving town, tonight, and turned on Carly, asking how she lived with herself. Carly assumed Kayla was angry about her coming between Bo and Hope, but noted they were apart before she and Bo got involved. Besides, who Bo spent his life with was his decision. Later, Bo found Carly at the pier. Carly told him Kayla would never accept them as a couple.
Nicole was gazing at a photo of Sydney, when Chloe arrived. Chloe went on about her honeymoon. Nicole went on about Sydney. Chloe reminded Nicole that Sydney wasn't her child and begged her not to do anything crazy. Nicole assured she wouldn't and brought up Chloe's rosy life. Chloe knew she should be happy, but was worried about Melanie. Nicole said Melanie had decided not to tell Daniel about Chloe's affair. Chloe fretted that she couldn't control that, but Nicole could control the Sydney situation. Nicole swore Sydney would always be a part of her and vowed to get her back.
Kayla returned to the pub. Caroline told her about finding Nicole with Sydney. She knew Sami would go ballistic, but had to tell her about it. Kayla admitted she was about to destroy Bo's life. She revealed that Daniel might not be the father of Chloe's baby, even though a paternity test said he was. Caroline wondered why that would ruin Bo's life. Kayla revealed her theory that Carly switched the test results. Caroline insisted Carly didn't.
EJ thought back to Arianna telling him she had proof. Sami thought back to Arianna telling her about that proof, too, while searching her room for the camera phone. Sami found a box, just as EJ arrived. He asked what Sami was doing there. She made up a story about looking for Arianna's rosary. EJ blocked the door. He and Sami started fighting, and the box fell out of Sami's purse. The pair started wrestling over it, until Sami ran off with it. EJ continued searching Arianna's room. Sami returned home. She told Will what happened with EJ and that she found nothing in Arianna's room. "What if it doesn't matter?" asked Will, wondering if maybe the person who had the camera erased the video or didn't watch it. Meanwhile, a pair of hands shuffled through some mail, CDs, and Arianna's camera phone.
