DAYS Week of November 8, 2010
Monday
While Victor, Kate, Brady, Nicole and Philip toasted to Vivian getting everything she deserved, Gus rescued her from the sarcophagus. Gus wanted to run, before Victor's goons discovered she was free. Vivian had something to do first. She phoned Maggie, noting she wanted to talk to her about Victor's soul. "He's done something terrible," said Vivian. She told Maggie to meet her at the mausoleum. When Maggie arrived, Vivian explained she'd been inside the sarcophagus. Victor put her there so he could pursue Maggie. Maggie didn't believe it. Vivian insisted it was true, noting there was a closed-circuit TV and camera in there. She recounted moments from Victor and Maggie's last chat. Maggie realized Vivian wasn't lying and wanted to call the police. Vivian said not to worry. Victor would pay. Later, Vivian went on about being free, while Maggie struggled in the coffin.
Melanie interrupted the toast between Philip and company. "You couldn't make it to Arianna's memorial because you were knocking back a few with your family?" she asked. Victor said they were celebrating a business deal. Brady conceded not being at the memorial was inexcusable. He left to apologize to Rafe and Gabi. Nicole followed. Melanie asked Philip if there really was a business deal. Philip asked Melanie to trust him. It was best she not know about this. Victor suggested they all have champagne, since a big problem had been laid to rest. Kate joined them. Melanie said she had to leave to pick up a rocking chair at the Horton cabin for Chloe. Kate made a snarky comment. Melanie told Kate she wouldn't tolerate "snide crap" about her family. Kate told Melanie that Chloe would never change and one day Daniel would wish he'd never met her. Alone, Melanie made a call telling someone she'd had enough of their lies and needed to see them.
Philip lamented about having to lie to Melanie again. Victor insisted Philip was protecting her. Victor wished Philip and Melanie could have moved in with him, but knew Maggie would be happy they were staying with her. He brought up what Vivian had planned for Maggie and how he was glad Brady stopped her. Victor thought Vivian was more than jealous of Maggie. She couldn't stand Maggie's goodness and wanted to destroy it. Philip noted they didn't have to worry about Vivian anymore.
Justin interrupted Arianna's post funeral gathering and said he had to talk to everyone about her will. Justin was holding a box. EJ taunted Sami about the evidence that she shot him being inside it. Sami and Rafe wondered about the possibility of the camera phone being inside the box. Brady and Nicole arrived. Brady apologized for missing the service, noting Victor had some issues. Rafe and Gabi understood. Justin told Brady to stay. He was going to read Arianna's will and Brady was mentioned in it. Sami needled Nicole about never getting her hands on Sydney again. EJ said soon Sami wouldn't either, since he was going to take both his children away from them. Sami told EJ to go. Justin told him to stay. There was a bequest for him in Arianna's will. Justin put Arianna's video will into the DVD player. She spoke to her family first, leaving different items to them. Gabi was overcome with emotion and asked Justin to stop the DVD. She told Rafe she loved him and left. Justin read the codicil to the will before proceeding with the DVD. Arianna left a statue of St. Anthony to EJ. The DVD resumed and Arianna went on about leaving the rest of her belongings to the man she loved, Brady.
Chad arrived at Charles's office, thinking his dad wanted to see him. Charles's secretary handed Chad an envelope that came to him at the house. Chad opened it and found a birth certificate naming Stefano as his father. Chad headed to the DiMera mansion and found Will. He asked for Stefano and Kate. Will explained neither was there. Chad left. Will followed and asked what was going on. Chad showed Will the birth certificate. Will was stunned. Chad thought it was a joke and wondered if Stefano was behind it. Will didn't think so. Chad said whoever sent this was going to pay. He thought back to talking to Kate and realized it was her. Chad went off to do some research. Will promised to keep mum.
Tuesday
"Anyone? Someone? Help. Please," moaned Maggie inside the sarcophagus. Outside the mausoleum, Vivian was thrilled she'd entombed Maggie. Gus noted the toxic fumes would drive Maggie mad and feared Victor's wrath if he learned what they'd done. Vivian knew he was right. They had to get out of there. At the mansion, Victor turned on the monitor to the sarcophagus, but only got snow. Victor asked if Vivian was there, but got no answer.
Melanie phoned Chloe and summoned her to the pier. When she hung up, Daniel walked over. She said she had something to tell him after she got the rocking chair from the cabin. Daniel split, and Chloe arrived. She mentioned the baby being well and pondered names. Melanie didn't want to be manipulated. She told Chloe she'd decided to tell Daniel about her affair, but gave Chloe the option of coming clean herself. Melanie headed to the ferry. Chloe warned if the truth came out, it would destroy Melanie's life, too. Melanie refused to be swayed. Chloe huffed off.
Brady couldn't believe Arianna left him most of her things. EJ offered to take the box, but Sami grabbed it from him. Rafe intervened, as EJ and Sami traded barbs. EJ spat that Arianna always knew Sami would take Rafe down. He left the FBI for her and was lying for her, even though he hadn't sired any of her kids. Rafe lunged for EJ. Justin and Brady interceded. Roman walked in, noting there was a break in Arianna's hit and run. A witness came forward and was at the station. Rafe and Sami took off. EJ followed. Justin gave Brady the box of legal papers and the key to Arianna's safety deposit box. Brady looked at Arianna's picture and wondered what happened before she died.
At the station, Rafe asked the witness about Arianna's accident, as Roman and Sami listened. EJ arrived, insisting he had to be there. The witness noted how EJ tried to help Arianna and that he saw a small object get tossed from Arianna's purse. It looked like a phone and might have slipped into the gutter. Sami said it wasn't important. EJ realized that was the evidence Sami was hiding, promised he'd find it, and left. Sami freaked. Rafe swore no one would find the camera. The drainage led to the bay. Sami hoped this was over.
Vivian relaxed in a hotel room. She assured Gus no one would discover what they did to Maggie. Suddenly, they heard Victor's voice. Vivian put on her earphone and pretended to be confused. Victor finished their chat and assured Philip all was fine. Vivian decided to chat with Maggie next. She told Maggie her life was in Victor's hands. If he didn't find her, she was out of luck. Vivian admitted that she'd made the sarcophagus for Maggie, but then everything went awry. Maggie pleaded with Vivian. Vivian swore she was going to pay back Victor. Later, after her bath, Vivian asked for pen and paper to ensure Maggie was never found.
Lexie congratulated Daniel on his wedding. They discussed Arianna and Melanie losing her best friend. Daniel noted Melanie wasn't doing well and was upset with Chloe. He wished they'd get along. Chloe listened as Daniel told Lexie he had one more patient to see. Then, he was taking the key to the Horton boat Maggie dropped off and going to the cabin. When Daniel and Lexie walked off, Chloe snatched the key and left.
Victor and Philip went to the mausoleum to check on things. The monitor came on and Maggie saw both of them. Victor said he wanted to tell Vivian that she was getting exactly what she deserves. Philip egged him on. Victor showed Philip the lever to open the sarcophagus. Maggie watched, hoping she'd be saved.
At the cabin, Melanie had an unpleasant fantasy about Daniel finding out about Chloe's affair. Suddenly, Chloe arrived, noting she was going to stop Melanie from making a mistake. Melanie got angry, phoned Daniel, and said they had to talk, now. Chloe grabbed her stomach and announced the baby was coming.
Nicole and Brady arrived at the Kiriakis mansion. Brady walked off. Nicole went through a box of Arianna's jewelry and found her camera phone. She hit play and watched Sami's confession. Nicole was stunned.
Wednesday
Victor and Philip prepared to open the sarcophagus. Vivian said not to. She wasn't looking her best. Victor chuckled, and he and Philip left. Maggie cried out for Victor to no avail. She told Vivian people would start to worry about her, when she didn't come home. Vivian said they'd all think Maggie had taken a cruise. Vivian went on about planning Maggie's disappearance for months and how she watched her make her move on Victor. "I did no such thing," swore Maggie. Vivian taunted Maggie about worms crawling into the coffin. Then, she wondered what would happen if Victor found out Gus escaped. Gus promised he wouldn't. He hid his guard and left a trail to the airport. Maggie would soon go mad and run out food, and Vivian would win.
Melanie ignored Chloe's cries and called back Daniel. Then, Chloe announced her water broke. "Chloe's in labor?" asked Daniel. Melanie freaked. She couldn't deliver a baby. Daniel promised he'd get there in time. He asked to talk to Chloe and reassured her everything would be fine. Chloe cried that the contractions were coming closer together. Philip arrived at the hospital. Daniel told him Chloe was in labor. Philip offered his boat to take Daniel to the Horton cabin. Meanwhile, Melanie tended to Chloe. She phoned Daniel, who said he'd be there in 20 minutes. Melanie didn't think the baby would wait that long. She told Chloe to push and noticed the umbilical cord wrapped around the baby's neck. Chloe cried out and pushed harder. Melanie said the baby's head was blue. "Is the baby dead?" gasped Chloe.
Stefano told EJ he heard he had men dragging the sewers flowing into the Salem River. EJ was trying to find proof Sami shot him, so he could get his kids back. Stefano thought EJ needed a Plan B and said he'd take care of it. EJ was perturbed Stefano was interfering and told him to stay out of this. "If I stay out of it, the children will grow up calling Rafael Hernandez, Daddy," retorted Stefano. Marco interrupted noting their men found a woman's compact. EJ ordered the search continue and refused Stefano's help. Marco returned and asked Stefano if he should proceed with their assignment. "Absolutely," said Stefano. Meanwhile, EJ got an idea and left.
Rafe and Sami had a heart-to-heart at the loft. He admitted he couldn't have gotten through Arianna's death without Sami and said he wanted to marry her, now. Sami was hesitant, knowing he was still grieving and pointing out how none of this would have happened if Arianna hadn't gotten involved in Sami's feud with
EJ. Rafe insisted Sami wasn't to blame. Sami mentioned the taped confession being out there. Rafe promised to put an end to that. "What the hell am I supposed to do with this?" asked Nicole, after finding Sami's confession tape. Rafe phoned Brady asking about Arianna's camera. Brady said there was no camera, but there were some personal items Rafe might want. Brady told Nicole that Rafe would be coming over and was interested in some camera. Rafe told Sami there was no camera in Arianna's belongings. Brady had hunch this camera was the reason Arianna died, noting EJ told him she had proof who shot him. Nicole asked what Brady would do with such proof. Brady contemplated the possibility of Sami shooting EJ and announced he wouldn't blame her. Victor demanded a word alone with Brady. He said they'd no longer be communicating with Vivian. Victor got a call informing him Gus had escaped. Brady wondered if he went to the cops. Victor assumed he'd free Vivian first. Victor got word Gus booked a flight for South America.
Back at the loft, Sami and Rafe discussed Arianna's death and Sami shooting EJ. Rafe promised that was all behind them. Sami couldn't forget it, noting she caused trouble everywhere she went. Rafe swore he loved her and nothing would change that, as they got passionate. Later, Rafe arrived at the Kiriakis mansion, where he and Brady went through Arianna's possessions.
Nicole wandered outside and saw a mother and child. She remembered happier times with EJ and Sydney. She took out the camera and pondered what to do with it. Soon, Nicole arrived on Sami's doorstep to check on Sydney. Sami told Nicole she'd never see Sydney again and neither would EJ. Nicole promised she would be a part of Sydney's life, and Sami would make it happen.
Thursday
“I cheated on your dad and now my baby's going to die,” cried Chloe. Melanie tried to calm her and ordered Chloe to keep pushing. Chloe pushed out a baby boy just as Daniel and Philip raced in. Daniel tended to his son and handed him to Chloe. He assured Chloe their baby was fine. Chloe asked Melanie if she wanted to hold her brother. Melanie took the child in her arms. Philip snapped a picture of the happy family.
Caroline told Stephanie that with Kayla away, they were the only ones who knew Melanie's husband is Chloe's baby daddy. She wanted to keep things quiet so Steph could marry Nathan. “So it doesn't bother you that Philip doesn't know he's going to be a father?” asked Steph. Nope. Caroline believed the truth would ruin four lives. Steph said she decided to ‘fess up and was meeting Uncle Roman at the hospital. Caroline warned there would be a fallout, like Roman might have to put her in jail. Steph held firm. Caroline said she’d come with her. At the hospital Roman talked to Nathan about a patient he came by to interview and congratulated him on his engagement. Steph and Caroline arrived. Steph told Caroline she was going to tell Roman she changed the paternity test results. Nathan approached. Then, Daniel arrived with Chloe and their new son, followed by Philip and Melanie. Steph asked what happened. Melanie and Philip explained about the special delivery at the Horton cabin.
Brady realized Rafe was only looking for a camera. He wondered if it had anything to do with who shot EJ, when in walked EJ, noting he was there for the videotape of Arianna’s will. He wanted something to remember her by. Brady suggested talking to Justin. EJ noticed Arianna’s things. Rafe said he wasn’t looking through them. EJ left. Brady deduced Rafe and EJ were looking for the same camera. "Sami shot EJ, didn't she?" he asked. Rafe played dumb. Brady didn’t care either way. He just hoped whatever proof Arianna had was gone, because he knew EJ wouldn’t give up looking for it. EJ phoned Justin and left a message about getting a copy of Arianna's will. He fretted about the vanishing evidence. EJ looked at the statue Arianna left him and broke it, but there was nothing inside.
Nicole told Sami she knew everything about her shooting EJ and advised her to check her email. She sent her a video. Sami obliged and watched her confession. Nicole explained she found Arianna's camera among her belongings, and Brady had no clue. Sami grabbed Nicole's purse and searched for the camera. Nicole noted it wasn’t there and that she’d downloaded it, anyway. Sami deleted the email. Nicole assured there were other copies and suggested they make a deal. She wanted to be part of Sydney’s life. Sami reminded Nicole she kidnapped Sydney, twice. Nicole explained about not being able to conceive or adopt and how Sydney was it for her. She just wanted to be able to visit the tyke. Sydney started stirring. Nicole wanted to check on her. Sami stopped her. Nicole taunted Sami about going to jail and facing the wrath of the DiMeras. Sami pleaded with Nicole not to let her children grow up motherless. She feared Nicole would turn Sydney against her. “You should have thought about Sydney before you pulled the trigger,” barked Nicole. Sami lunged for Nicole. They started to fight. Nicole hit her head and fell to the floor.
Daniel kissed Chloe after she got settled in; then, went to check on their son. Melanie entered. “I don't know how to thank you enough for what you did,” said Chloe. Melanie did it for her baby brother. He deserved to have something she never had: two parents who love him. Melanie said she’d decided not to tell Daniel about Chloe’s tryst. Daniel carried the baby out and asked Philip if he wanted to hold him. Steph watched Philip smiling at the infant. Daniel took the baby to Chloe. Daniel suggested naming him Parker, his mother’s maiden name. Chloe agreed. Philip watched the happy family through the window. Philip told Melanie he was ready to become a dad. Roman approached Steph and Caroline. Steph said she didn’t need to talk to him after all. Caroline believed she did the right thing.
Friday
After a fight with Sami, Nicole knocked her head on the side of the table and passed out. “I think she’s dead,” Sami worried when she spied blood. Rafe came home and was surprised to see Nic unconscious. Rafe revived her, to Sami’s relief. After pulling herself together, Nicole sauntered over to Sami’s laptop and pulled up the footage of Sami’s confession to Arianna. She threatened to expose Sami. Rafe, in turn, threatened her. Nicole said she just wanted to be part of Sydney’s life in exchange for her silence. “Deal or no deal?” she asked. Rafe made it seem like he agreed and said they would need to go slow to not raise any suspicion. Before leaving, Nicole noted that Sami was lucky to have Rafe in her life. After, Sami thanked her beau for his support. He vowed to be there for the long haul and protect her, then indicated he had a bigger plan where Nic was concerned.
Nicole headed home and fantasized about having a great relationship with Sydney in the future.
Hope was surprised when Jennifer visited her in prison. “What are you doing here?” she asked. Jen wondered why her cousin wasn’t happy to see her and explained that she was there to get Hope out of prison. Hope replied that she needed to atone for what she did. The conversation turned to Jack and Jennifer said he was off working on a case, so her nest was empty. Hope asked Jen to visit again. Jen hugged Hope, despite the guard’s warning not to touch.
A frustrated Bo worked on Arianna's hit and run case at the Brady Pub. Carly joined him and handed him a folder of information she had collected about the death at the prison. Bo read through the material, then wondered how he could get the info to Hope. He called the warden and asked if he could visit Hope, but she said Hope already had a visitor that day and Hope shouldn’t receive special treatment. Jane asked if Bo had a message for Hope and he passed one along. When he hung up, he told Carly that he didn’t think the warden trusted him. Carly agreed to help. Back in the clink, the warden admitted to Lee that she thinks Hope told Bo about April’s death.
Jen ran into Bo outside the Brady Pub. She told him about her visit with Hope.... Carly visited Hope in prison and told her about the information she had collected. She revealed that Lee used to be a doctor. Hope was surprised. Carly explained that Lee’s license was revoked after she illegally prescribed meds to patients. Hope told her that Lee had spun a completely different story and revealed that there was definitely something very wrong with how April died. Carly told Hope that Bo wanted to be careful. Hope asked how Bo was doing. “Not good,” Carly admitted.
Chad confronted Kate on the pier and asked if she sent him the birth certificate, indicating Stefano is his father. She didn’t answer directly whether she did or didn’t. Her phone rang. It was Stefano. “Oh, my long-lost father. Tell him hi for me,” Chad cracked. Kate warned him to be careful about what he did with the information. Chad was determined to find out the truth, one way or another. She cautioned that while the Phoenix can be loving and generous, he is also very dangerous. Kate headed home. Chad called the house from a pay phone, but didn’t say anything.
