DAYS Week of November 22, 2010
Monday
As Victor realized that Vivian had done something to Maggie, Maggie began to lose consciousness. Victor used the mic to contact Vivian, who was enjoying a relaxing face mask. Viv grew alarmed when Victor said he was thinking of letting her out of the tomb. Vivian kept trying to keep up the charade but Vic made a beeline to the mausoleum. A weak Maggie could see him on the screen and wondered if she was hallucinating him. Victor started prying the sarcophagus open, but Gus tazed him! Maggie called his name, frantic, and as he slowly awoke, Vivian was standing over him...
Chad prepared to lower the boom on Stefano about his parentage. He pretended he was interested in the job Kate had offered him. Stefano said he could start Monday. Was that all? “Actually, it’s not,” said Chad, flipping open a knife and saying they had things to talk about. "If you wanna kill me. You're gonna need something bigger than that," Stefano drawled. Chad said he just wanted some blood, "because it's the only way I can prove whether or not you're my father." Stefano suggested he explain himself. When Chad talked about the birth certificate, Stefano didn't buy it but studied the certificate, noting it looked pretty good. He confirmed for Chad that he'd slept with Madeline, and Chad surmised Stefano is indeed his father. Kate suggested they both get tested. At the hospital, Kate explained the virus outbreak and how Melanie was afflicted. Then, Stefano paid a cute, young nurse to run the tests.
Sami couldn't wrap her head around Rafe's impulsive proposal, as she was still processing EJ wanting to take her kids. She then realized Rafe must have some sort of plan. Rafe said that wasn't his only reason for asking. He wanted to marry her because he loves her. "This'll be a celebration, and I want the kids to be there," he said. Besides, they had other problems besides EJ: the cops! "If I'm gonna go to prison anyway, there's no way I'm handing him my kids!" gasped Sami. Rafe calmed her down, saying the police only had "circumstantial" evidence. And if she marries him, he can't testify against her! An exhausted Sami wasn't sure she deserved to get out of this. Rafe gave her a romantic pep talk and she threw her arms around him. Out on the docks, EJ asked Nicole why she'd gone to Sami about the confession before coming to him. He accused her of thinking only of herself. Nicole insisted she had totally planned to include EJ on her visitations with Sydney. He wasn’t buying it and asked Nicole to give him one reason he shouldn't toss her in the river right now. She sat him down and explained how she'd gone to Sami because of Sydney. EJ marveled at how she wanted to replace him and Sami in the little girl's life.
Back at Sami's, she was moved by all of Rafe's support and told him, "Marrying you is the wedding of my dreams. Any time. Any way." Sami said they'd worry about telling the kids the bad stuff tomorrow and just focus on the impromptu happiness tonight. As Rafe went off to make preparations, Sami woke the kids and told them about the wedding. "Can I call Rafe 'Daddy,' too, like my real Daddy?" precious little Johnny wondered. Will, of course, was worried about his mom. Back on the pier, Nicole explained to EJ how she'd concluded Sydney does belong with him. But would EJ, unlike Sami, let her be a part of the girl's life? "Do it for Sydney," she urged. Rafe went to the pub and asked Gabi to stand up for him at the wedding. Caroline came by Sami's to wish her luck and give her something she carried at her wedding to Shawn, and a book of Shakespearean sonnets. Then, Rafe, Sami, Caroline and the kids gathered in the park for a quiet family wedding.
Tuesday
Maggie was alarmed to see Victor passed out on the floor. He came to and was surprised to see a sprung Vivian. She chided him for choosing Maggie, noting he could have had it all with her. "But you were enticed by a coupon-cutting suburban siren," she lamented. Brady entered just as Vivian was going to plunge a knife into his grandfather. Victor told him Mags was in the sarcophagus. Victor summoned the strength to stand and open the coffin top. Maggie was unconscious, so Victor urged her to wake up by saying he loved her. Viv cried as she heard the words. Maggie came too, smiled, then passed out again.
Doug and Julie visited Hope in jail. She didn't know they were home from their cruise. She asked if they had a message from Bo. Julie and Doug wondered why Hope was expecting one and demanded to know what Bo had done. She set them straight and explained that Bo had visited her so much, they restricted his visits. The conversation turned to the holidays. Hope was sad about what the future held, but brightened when she mentioned that Bo was bringing Ciara to visit on Thanksgiving. "We'll be here, too," declared Julie. The guard excused herself, thanks to a bribe from Doug, who gave her a watch. Once alone, Doug hugged his daughter. After, the guard took Hope back to the infirmary. Hope chatted up Lee to try and get some info about her.... Lee and the Warden worried that Hope would become a problem for them.
Nicole tried to persuade EJ to let her see Sydney. She followed him back to the manse to plead her argument. He wasn't so receptive. Nic suspected that EJ was less concerned about Nicole being back in Sydney's life than he was having Nic back in his. He told her she was being ridiculous.
Sami was charmed by the enchanted wedding Rafe set up outdoors. Allie dropped petals, then Sami came down the aisle to her groom. She started crying, thinking about giving up her children the next day. Rafe comforted her and the ceremony resumed. Rafe and Sami shared vows from the heart, then were pronounced husband and wife.... At the DiMera manse, EJ got a call about the nups and was outraged.
Wednesday
A weak Maggie roused and Victor told her he loves her...and then she passed out! Nearby, Brady held on to Vivian and called 911. A cop detained Vivian as the paramedics wheeled off Maggie. Brady warned Vivian that if Maggie didn't make it, she'd be facing murder charges. At the hospital, Jennifer asked Dr. Walters for news about the virus, and he apologized for cutting her off earlier. Mid-conversation, Maggie was brought in. Jennifer freaked and questioned Victor about what had happened. Then, Dr. Walters let her go see her aunt. At the police station, Brady told the cop what had happened. Vivian demanded he tell the whole story. When the detective stepped outside, Brady asked Viv not to drag Victor, Kate, Philip and Nicole into this. Vivian said if she was taking the rap, everybody would go down with her. "I want my sweet, sweet revenge!" she insisted. But she told Brady she wouldn't retaliate if he retracted his statement. Sure enough, when the cop came back, Brady refused to sign the form. At the hospital, Victor visited Maggie, who asked him point blank if he put Vivian in the sarcophagus. Victor explained how Vivian had planned to entomb her. "I was just giving her a taste of her own medicine!" he said. Maggie said he should've gone to the authorities instead of tormenting Vivian. He said he hadn't enjoyed it, but Maggie could see in his eyes that he was lying. Victor wouldn't apologize for protecting her and said he'd meant it when he said "what I said." A tearful Maggie knew he'd meant it, but asked him to walk out and never come back. He respected her wishes, and she broke down.
At the prison infirmary, Hope was instructed to take down the info of a
prisoner named Pam. Her spidey senses tingled when Pam said she has no
family and she immediately warned her not to sign a consent form or get
treatment there. Pam then asked to be examined at University Hospital.
Warden Jane and Lee nixed that and cited the Loma virus outbreak as the
reason. Hope instantly worried about Nathan. She was thankful when Jane
found out what was going on and updated her. Later, Hope noted that Pam's records stated she was to be cremated if she died and she grew even more concerned. Pam had been sedated, so Hope sprang into action, making a call to Jennifer for help. Warden Jane walked in, revoked her privileges and ordered her to solitary confinement.
In the garden, Rafe and Sami exchanged rings and then Rafe surprised Sami with a gift: an ornament for the Christmas tree! At Chez DiMera, EJ got a call about the wedding and went ballistic, throwing a glass. Nicole wondered if he was jealous. He said he was offended that she was putting Johnny and Sydney through a "farce." Nicole tried to calm him down, reminding him that he won. EJ decided that being stuck with Rafe was fitting punishment for Sami. Back at the wedding, Rafe surprised Sami and the kids with a tradition involving the binding of several cords that would unite them all and God. The minister then pronounced them husband and wife! Afterwards, Sami hoped a miracle would occur and they wouldn't have to give up the kids. On cue, EJ and Nicole arrived. EJ wanted Sami to surrender the kids, noting he'd given her plenty of time to say her goodbyes but she'd made the wrong decision. "You never put your children first," EJ accused, saying he was taking his kids from their "narcissistic" and "promiscuous" mom "right now." EJ told Johnny that he and Sydney were coming to live in "the big house." When he instructed Nicole to take a sleeping Sydney, a teary Sami handed the child over. Then, Sami marshaled her emotions to explain to Johnny why he was going to Daddy's house now. After EJ and Nicole left, Sami collapsed into
Rafe's arms, sobbing.
