Monday
Chad, Will and Mia faced off on the pier about her claim that she had slept around and Chad might not be the father of her baby. She lied to Will, saying she became a slut after Chad left Salem. A disgusted Chad took off. Once alone with Mia, Will asked if she was lying, but she said she wasn't. He dumped her. She cried.
At the hospital, Nicole was stressed out about what would happen with Mia. Stefano told her to relax. She exited and ran into Kate, who then asked her husband what he was doing with Nic. He said she might be moving home soon, but Elvis couldn't know about it yet. Stefano also told his wife he was going to be released. She kissed him. Victor entered at that moment to check in on his foe.
Sami tried to reach Mia, but couldn't. She met up with Brady, who was trying to locate Arianna, at the Java Café and said she had a bad feeling. She headed home. Chad came to the door and said he needed to talk. Sami invited him in. He told her about Mia's revelation on the pier and started to choke up from the betrayal.
EJ did a background check on Arianna; he wanted to see if Rafe knew she was dealing drugs.
Ari told Rafe that the truth about Nicole's baby had come out and everyone knew Nicole got the baby from Mia. Rafe smiled, realizing that she had handed him the last piece of the puzzle. Ari was confused. Rafe dropped the bomb that Sydney was actually Sami's baby. He then thought about his next move and asked his sister to fetch some clothes from his place. She said she would. He also asked her to grab his hidden cash and spare phone. She returned with his things. He told her he had contacted his pal at the FBI, who reported that Meredith was in a psych ward — for a long time. Rafe was determined to get DNA evidence to prove that Sydney was Sami's.
Nicole brought Sydney to the DiMera manse. She told EJ that Chad might not be the father of Mia's baby because she slept around in Chicago. EJ was surprised, noting Mia didn't seem like that kind of girl. Nicole believed she still had a future with EJ and the baby and tried to make him see that. "My love is still here, hoping that you want to take me back... I know you still care," she whispered, then leaned into kiss him. They kissed briefly, and EJ admitted that he had been happier than he had ever been with her, but it was over because of her lies. Nicole left, then ran into Mia on the pier. The teen was sobbing over the lies she told. Nicole insisted she had done the right thing. Sami came upon them after overhearing Nicole's last comment.
At the mansion, Brady admitted to Victor that he and Ari had reconciled. Vic wasn't pleased and revealed that Ari was a drug dealer.
A thrilled Stefano arrived home. Kate headed to the kitchen to instruct the staff to make healthy foods for her hubby. Stefano and EJ talked. EJ told his father about Nicole's visit.
Tuesday
Bo put Carly in his bedroom, noting it was the most secure room in the house because it has shades and is upstairs. She thought Justin could help her out of her bind, but Bo wasn't on board because he was living at Victor's. Carly believed Justin could be discreet.
Justin joined Hope at the Brady Pub. Hope told him that Ciara had a class project due the next day called "Things I'm Grateful For." Hope noted she wasn't one of them because she took Ciara away from her father and her home. Justin helped Ciara and got her to smile and include Hope in her collage. Hope was touched. She and Ciara headed out. Bo called Justin and said he needed to see him right away. Bo met Justin at the pub and said he had a friend who needed his legal help. Bo revealed it was Carly.
Brady was stunned by Victor's announcement that Arianna is a drug dealer. He refused to believe it. Victor insisted it was true. Brady had a flashback to finding cocaine in the Pub.
Will talked to Lucas in rehab and told him about Mia.
EJ and Stefano discussed Sydney. Stefano insisted EJ was the baby's father and he should let her back in his life. EJ said that he was taking control of things and didn't want any more Sydney or Nicole drama. "I get enough drama from Samantha as it is," he pointed out. Stefano pushed, so EJ asked why his father was so interested. Stefano explained that EJ was never happier than when he was with Nicole and Sydney.
Rafe told Arianna he wasn't going to tell Sami about Sydney until he had proof. To that end, he needed to procure DNA samples.
Nicole comforted a devastated Mia on the pier. Sami overheard Nicole telling Mia that she did the right thing and asked what that meant. Nic didn't respond. Sami confronted Mia over her "slut in Chicago" story and demanded to know if it's true. Nicole defended Mia by saying she did the right thing by telling the truth. Sami pointed out that Mia hurt both Will and Chad with her lies. Mia apologized. Nicole told Sami to knock it off. Sydney began to fuss. Sami told Nic she would play nice with Mia, so Nicole took the baby home. Sami calmed down and talked to Mia. The teen admitted she still loved Will and wondered if he could ever forgive her. Sami said she'd have to ask Will that.
Rafe went to Sami's townhouse and sneaked in. He spied Nicole's suitcase in the living room and realized Nic was staying there. "One stop shopping for DNA," he noted. He swiped a teething ring of Sydney's then heard keys in the door. It was Nicole. Rafe hid behind a piece of furniture. She looked for the baby's teething ring, but couldn't find it. Her cell phone rang; it was Stefano. They talked and from Nicole's end of it, Rafe could tell the Phoenix was on her side. She headed to the mansion. Rafe took Sami's toothbrush.
Arianna, who knew Rafe was at Sami's, called Sami and asked her to come over and talk, saying it was important. Sami apologized to Mia for being harsh on her, then took off. She arrived at Ari's and asked what was wrong. Ari said she was fine. Sami noticed something of Rafe's on the desk and excitedly asked if he was back in Salem. Ari covered, then covered further, saying she wanted to talk to Sami about Caroline. She suggested it was time for Caroline to retire so she could spend more time with her grandkids. Sami laughed that it would never happen. "Is that the emergency?" a confused Sami asked her. Before Ari could answer, Brady stormed in, saying they needed to talk. Sami excused herself and left. Ari went to call Rafe to warn him but Brady grabbed the phone. He ransacked her room, saying he was looking for her cocaine.
Mia went to the Java Caf and ran into Will. She told him she loved him and asked if he could ever forgive her. He said she didn't deserve to be forgiven and walked out.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Hope told Victor that she had to pick up a photo album from her house, but was concerned about running into Bo. Vic urged her to go see him — and not hurry back. Hope entered the house, which was quiet. She assumed Bo was sleeping and headed upstairs. She went into the bedroom and saw Carly sleeping in her bed.
Rafe left the townhouse and ran right into a shocked Sami.
Wednesday
At the Brady Pub, Bo told Justin that Carly needed Justin to represent her because she killed Lawrence. Justin asked why, but Bo was vague. Bo added that nobody — especially Hope — could know Carly was in town. Justin was confused. Bo explained that it was too dangerous and he didn't want his wife involved.
Hope walked into her bedroom and was stunned to see Carly sleeping in her bed. Carly uttered Bo's name, so Hope threw the lights on and demanded to know who Carly was. Carly introduced herself. Hope asked why Bo didn't tell her Carly was there; Carly explained that she asked Bo to keep it quiet. Hope deduced that Carly was there because of Lawrence's murder and pointed out to Carly that she was putting Hope's family in danger. Carly explained how Lawrence was great when they first got together, but he got sick and nearly died and turned into a different man who was paranoid, abusive and dangerous. "So you killed him," Hope replied. "It was him or me," Carly explained. Hope told Carly to get out of her house. Bo and Justin entered to find both women in the living room. Hope made her displeasure known to Bo. They went outside and faced off. Hope was upset that Bo didn't tell her Carly was there. "The same way you let me know that you were taking my daughter and going to Doug and Julie's, not having any contact with me for days?" he shot back. "How do you think this looks? Police commissioner aiding a fugitive? Forget about your career. You could go to jail for this," Hope pointed out. She suspected something bigger was going on. They headed back inside, where Carly was insisting to Justin that she killed Lawrence in self-defense. Hope asked Carly what she wasn't telling them. Carly said she had been honest. Victor called Hope to say Ciara had a nightmare. Hope hurried out, saying Carly had 24 hours to figure everything out or else Hope was turning her in. Hope returned to the Kiriakis manse and checked on Ciara. Vic told Hope that when Ciara was crying, she said she wanted to go home. Hope got defensive, saying she was doing the best thing for her daughter. Victor wasn't so sure. She sighed that things had gotten so much more complicated. When Victor wondered why, she noted that she couldn't go into detail.
Back at the Brady house, Justin told Carly he needed the whole truth from her or else he couldn't defend her. She didn't like his badgering and said she could go to someone else. He told her to call him if she changed her mind. After he left, Carly noted to Bo that she couldn't come clean completely because someone else's life was at stake. Bo hugged her and insisted they would find a way out of it.
Vivian Alamain kept tabs on Carly from afar. Gus, her manservant, reported that Carly was in Salem. "Carly is nothing if not predictable," Viv laughed and devised a plan that would bring about "the end of Carly Manning."
Brady demanded the truth from Arianna and pushed her to admit she was a drug dealer. Through tears, she confessed, then said she needed to explain. He was angry. She said she had to struggle and didn't have the same advantages Brady had. "So you decided, ‘Hey, I'll just push poison?' " he asked incredulously. He rushed out and ran into Roman downstairs in the pub. Arianna followed. Brady told Roman he needed to know something about Ari. He then decided to let Ari tell Roman and left. Arianna explained what happened. Roman informed her that if her cover got blown, she was going back to prison. "Don't count me out just yet," she urged. She found Brady on the pier. He was kicking himself for being so stupid. She said he wasn't stupid and tried to talk things out. He wasn't interested and advised her to quit her job at the Pub.
Rafe left Sami's house with the DNA samples and ran right into her in the hallway. "What are you doing here?" she asked. He said it would take a long time to explain and urged her to be patient. He pulled her into a searing kiss. They took their business inside, but Rafe said he had to go. Sami was confused. Rafe promised he would come back but Sami wanted answers. He said he couldn't go into detail. "More secrets — awesome. Picking up right where we left off, huh?" she groused. He said he was doing it for her and asked her to trust him. She accepted that. They had sex on the couch. After, Sami giggled that she was happy her roomie, Nicole, didn't walk in on them. Rafe asked Sami to keep it quiet that he was back in town, explaining that he was working on an important case for their future. She promised to keep his secret. They exchanged "I love yous." There was a knock at the door...
Thursday
Carly was worried that Hope was going to turn her in. Bo insisted they could trust her. The conversation turned to Justin. Bo urged Carly to tell Justin the whole truth about why she killed Lawrence. Carly said she couldn't. They caught up about what had happened since Carly had been gone. She looked at a photo of Zack and asked who it was. Bo told her, then admitted he and Hope never really resolved their feelings over his death. He added that Hope would be first in line to help Carly if she knew what was really going on with Dr. Manning.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Victor asked Hope why she was upset. She didn't want to talk about it, but noted that Bo had found happiness with two other women. Victor insisted that Hope was the love of Bo's life. Hope casually brought up Lawrence's murder. Vic asked if Hope was worried that Carly would come back to town. He assured her that wouldn't happen. They talked about Carly. Vic noted that while she saved his life, she was a predator. Justin came home. Hope told him about her conversation with Victor. She then grabbed the phone and asked for a moment alone. He went upstairs. She made a call.
Carly fell asleep and had a nightmare of Lawrence, who had a knife and stabbed Bo. Bo woke her up. She flipped out and said she was leaving. She opened the door to find federal agents standing there. "Carly Manning, you are under arrest for the murder of Lawrence Alamain," one said and cuffed her.
Philip ran into Melanie at Java Café, who revealed she had a date with Nathan. He asked why she would go out with Nathan when she could be with him. He said they were meant to be together, then kissed her. Turned out, Melanie's was daydreaming. She opened her eyes to find Nathan there. He kissed her. She assured him she was going to have the best date of his life. They headed to Nathan's new place; he showed her his bedroom. They began kissing then fell on the bed. Before things got too far, Nathan was called to the hospital. He left and Melanie immediately thought of being in bed with Philip.
On the pier, EJ came upon Ari crying and handed her a handkerchief. She tried to walk away from him, but he grabbed her. She said she didn't like creeps grabbing her arms. He apologized, then said he was worried about her. They traded barbs about Rafe. EJ asked why she was sad earlier. She said it was none of his business.
Sami and Rafe basked in the glow of their reunion. Nicole came home so Rafe hid. Nic and Sami discussed Mia and her lies. Nicole asked if Sami had seen Sydney's teething ring (which Rafe swiped earlier). They looked for it. Sami was curious if Nicole was nervous to get the DNA results for Sydney back. Nicole said she was sure everything would be fine. Sami remarked that she would hate to think of anyone taking Sydney away from Nic. Nicole declared that she wouldn't let it happen. Nic then had to go to the store, so Sami said she would watch Syd. Once alone with Rafe again, Sami marveled how she and Nicole were so close in light of their past. Rafe was about to talk to her about Nicole, then decided not to. Rafe headed back to Ari's. Sami was in heaven that her guy was home. Rafe called his friend at the FBI and said he had secured the DNA samples. Arianna came home and asked if he was worried that the truth about Sydney might bring EJ and Sami closer together.
Sami took Sydney to the DiMera mansion to pick up Johnny because EJ didn't drop him off. EJ came rushing in and apologized. EJ was uncomfortable around the baby. Sami mentioned she had cut a new tooth, then asked if EJ wanted to hold her. He said no. She started talking to the baby in a playful manner, which annoyed EJ. Sami told him she just wanted him to be happy.
Brady sat alone at Java, upset over Arianna's betrayal. He headed out; Nicole found him outside the pub. She apologized for asking him to help her leave town. She could tell he was upset. He told her he and Ari had split. She said she was sorry, then hugged him. They parted ways.
Friday
Rafe met with his FBI contact and handed over the DNA items of Sydney's and Sami's. Arianna followed him, explaining that he sneaked out of the house and she was worried. He told her he was fine. She again asked if he was concerned that Sami and EJ would grow closer once they learned they shared another child. "I don't want to lose Sami, okay? Especially to an arrogant jerk like DiMera. But I have to do this; it's the right thing to do," he told her. She revealed that she had a chat with EJ the night before.
At the hospital, Chad and Nicole awaited the results of the DNA test. Lexie spied them talking and warned Chad later that Nicole couldn't be trusted.
Sami called EJ and said she thought she left something of Grace's at his house the night before. He gently corrected her that she meant something of Johnny's. She said she sometimes made that slip of the tongue. He offered to bring it to her. She said he didn't have to, but he said it would be nice to be able to see her and talk to her alone. Stefano came in and noted how quiet it was in the house. "Don't start, please," EJ replied, noting that he didn't need to have another talk about Sydney and Nicole. He told his father he wouldn't press charges against Nicole because he felt she had suffered enough. He then headed to Sami's and told her he had an ulterior motive for coming there: he wanted to visit Grace's grave together. They headed to the cemetery and had a good, open talk about their feelings about Grace, Nicole an Sydney. He told her he had stayed mad at her too long about Grace. After, they headed back to her place. She asked if he forgave her. He said maybe, then asked her not to tell Stefano about their truce. "You know the DiMera stance on forgiveness," he cracked. Rafe called Sami and heard EJ in the background. He asked what EJ was doing there, but Sami couldn't tell him at that moment. EJ went to leave. Sami again reminded him that she just wants him to be happy. He said he wanted the same for her.
Nicole went to the DiMera manse to talk to Stefano. The Phoenix told Nic that EJ seemed to be softening towards her. He thought there was a chance for reconciliation. Nicole headed back to Sami's and revealed that she and Sydney might be moving out soon. "Things are looking up," she smiled. Sami was happy for her, then slipped that Rafe was back in town — and working on a super secret case. Uh oh.
Nathan and Steph ran into each other at the Brady Pub. He was headed home after an all-night shift. She told him to drive carefully. A woman began to cough; Nathan took care of her. "You saved her life," lauded Caroline.
Melanie talked to Brady, who wasn't in a good mood — and neither was she. She asked if they could talk and explained that she was having guy drama with Nathan and Philip. He advised her to dump them both and go it alone. She told him he sounded jaded and realized it had to do with Arianna. He said they had broken up permanently. He urged Melanie to examine her feelings for Philip before she made a decision about her future. After, Melanie encountered Philip on the pretense of looking for Brady. He called her on it.
Brady went to the Pub and saw Arianna. Caroline was surprised to see Ari, who was early for her shift. Arianna told Caroline that she was giving notice, effective immediately. Caroline was surprised and asked why she wanted to quit.
