Dr. Baker pocketed his cash, then went to leave the poker game. He opened the door to find Hope there. She asked where he was going, but he told her it was none of her business. "We're partners," she reminded him. He demanded to know who she was. She revealed that she was a detective who was assigned to the muggings. He was freaked and wanted out. Hope refused. "You and I are just beginning," she informed him. He still wanted out, so she asked him for a check before he left to cover the money he filched from EJ's bank account. She pulled her gun, so he handed it over. She ripped it up. He thought she was nuts and went to leave, but she pleaded with him not to. She cried that she used to have a partner she loved very much but he's gone and she feels alone. He agreed to stay with her; she was thrilled. They headed out.

At the Brady Pub, Stephanie asked a boozing Philip why he referred to himself as a bastard. He flashed back to having sex with Chloe, but lied that he had a fight with his dad. She didn't believe him and asked what he did to Melanie. Philip got annoyed, pointing out that Steph didn't even like Mel. Steph insisted she did, but explained that if he did something, she didn't want Melanie getting all upset and turning to Nathan. Adrienne came in as Philip was exiting and asked her niece what was wrong. Steph told her about her fear that Nathan would comfort Melanie over whatever Philip did. Then, Steph vowed to get Nathan to commit to her. Adrienne reminded Steph how terrific she is and advised her to be herself. "Spoken like a true aunt," Steph smiled. Adrienne took off. Steph held her birth control pills and got an idea. She tossed them in the garbage.

Chloe met with the motel clerk at the Cheatin' Heart, who explained that someone knew she was jealous over Daniel and Carly and was yanking her chain about it. She blamed him, but he pointed out that he never confirmed Carly and Daniel were together at his motel. He hurried out and called Vivian to report that Chloe bought every word he said. Viv was thrilled. She had a drink in her room with Gus to celebrate.

Melanie and Carly ran into each other at the hospital. Melanie asked her mother what she thought of Chloe. Before Carly could elaborate, Bo called to report that Kimberly was doing well and was expected to make a full recovery. After, they sat down. Melanie explained that she felt Chloe looked at her in a judgmental way sometimes. Carly insisted her daughter was funny, charming and smart and Chloe was lucky to have Mel in her life. A softened Melanie told Carly she hoped they could get closer. Carly was happy.

Nathan dropped some files off at Daniel's apartment. Dan invited Nate to stick around to go over the files with Carly. Nathan asked if Chloe was coming. Daniel asked what difference it made. Nathan covered that because he was Lucas's cousin, he didn't think Chloe wanted to be around him. Daniel thought that was crazy and insisted everything was fine. He then realized it was about Melanie, but Nathan said that wasn't it, either. Nate finally said he had a date with Stephanie and thought it sounded unprofessional to blow off a work opportunity for a girl. Dan said it was no big deal. Nate headed out and met Steph on the pier. Carly arrived to work on the files.

Philip joined Chloe at the Cheatin' Heart. She told him that Carly set her up. Philip couldn't understand why. Chloe claimed that Dr. M was selfish and manipulative and wanted to mess up Chloe and Daniel's relationship. She sighed that she didn't deserve Daniel. Philip assured her she did. Chloe went on a rant about Carly.... Philip returned home to find an amorous Melanie. She asked if they could go to Daniel's and hang out with Chloe and Carly. He said okay, but was clearly uncomfortable. He left Chloe a message for her not to do anything rash where Carly was concerned. A confused Melanie overheard and asked what was up.... Chloe returned and found Carly on the couch. She went off on Dr. M. "I know what you did," Chloe spat.

Brady and Arianna made out on the couch at the Kiriakis mansion. He wanted to go skinny-dipping in the pool, but his cell phone rang. It was Nicole. He didn't pick it up. He and Ari got busy on the couch, then there was a knock on the door. It was Gabi, who was freaked out and needed to see Ari because her computer froze and she lost her history paper and was totally flipping out. She needed Ari's help to rewrite the paper. Ari said she would help. The sisters left. After, Nicole knocked on the door. Brady was not happy to see her and wanted her to leave. She said that he had to tell her he didn't have any feelings for her before she did. He invited her in. At the Pub, Ari tried to retrieve Gabi's paper and texted Brady that she would be back soon. Nicole read it while he was out of the room. She also unbuttoned her blouse, which made Brady frown upon his return. He kicked her out and told her never to return. She headed to the Pub, where she tousled her hair, then pretended to be on a fun, flirty call with Brady, which both Hernandez sibs overheard. Ari doubted Nicole was telling the truth and headed back to the manse. Brady wasn't home.

A distracted Brady went to the park and realized he forgot his cell phone. Hope and Doc Baker came upon him and Hope attacked him from behind.
